Does anybody know the features of SRT 4992? Mytv advertises it as one of the HD receivers but  i couldn't find it on STRONG website or through the search engines.

@Salamander,

I've now also joined the 69x league but my SABCs (intel902/c) are still not stable on my 1.8m pan.Do I need tweaking the lnb or it's a general problem?My NTV is fine

@Enitan2002,

enitan2002:
free2view raised our hopes on this page last year april, they even hosted a website saying they will launch on a day, more than 18 months now, nothing yet to show for it, w3a viewers will be aware of that hype then, 12728H,
I remember very well and i believe u were one of the first if not the first to break that news to us and we were all very happy and expecting only to be disappointed.

I hope this time around we are given a pleasant surprise.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by captainus: 8:44am On Dec 01, 2009
@ Salamander,
I guess you have used 53x or 63x before.If yes, is there any significant signal improvement using the 4669x compared to those two especially on SABC(1,2,3) cband assuming everything is the same(i.e same dish,lnb etc)?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by captainus: 9:19pm On Nov 27, 2009
Emeystan i use 1.8m motorised pan dish with 4653x strong receiver
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by captainus: 5:33pm On Nov 27, 2009
All recently my 2M had been difficult to nail so after so many tweaking without success i decided to change my 0.3db strong lnb to HELEVES 0.2db lnb and the result is amazing: 84% and 60% on the two 2M tps.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by captainus: 9:16am On Nov 18, 2009
@Salamander,
Thanks.Yes I know of the NTV being mpeg-4.Hopefully by the end of the year I will be having at least the mpeg-4 receiver.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by captainus: 4:47pm On Nov 17, 2009
@Salamander,

What is the signal quality for your SABC(1,2,3) on intel 902(cband) and dish size,receiver type etc.I use 1.8m dish with53x but only citizen with 52-56% comes on that bird for me.Thanks
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by captainus: 9:06am On Oct 30, 2009
@Jayron,
just to add to what George-D said, I've had my motorised dish for alomst 4 years now and my jack is still fine.Get the right(genuine) satellite equipment and you are good to go.No wahala.Of course with the voltage fluctuation in africa you may need to protect it with say stabilizer, surge protector e.t.c.
So my brother go on and motorised and you will enjoy FTA better

I like the enthusiasm of members on this thread.the' ready to try it attitude'.@blakstar i agree with u on the price difference btn Gh and 9ja.they want to rip us off here in Gh.i now have to decide whether to go 4 the 69x or wait 4 the 4910,either way it has to be strong though.@ecowas4all, sathob i hope u r all ok and following the current fta excitement.@pito Is sabc(1 2 3) on intel902 cband stable on 1.8m pan with the 69x?

@George-D i am surprised at the price of N55k for srt 4910 in Naija.The figure of GHc 200($150) coated by Blakstars for its price here in Ghana is about N22k(N1000=GHc9.2). @enitan2002 I'm waiting for ur explanation that daarsat box is be better than srt4910.i honestly have my doubt about that assertion,though i'm ready to read ur argument on that.

@salamander GHc300 is about $200 that is about the cost of srt 4910 as posted by a member here.i personally think it is xpensive if u compare what daarsat can offer to that of the srt 4910.A receiver that does not allow me to xplore e.g blind scan,patch e.t.c is no more attractive to me. Someone told me Net2 is at nss7 cband.i wonder if u know the tp.The w2A channel is mpeg4.yet to nail it,may be will try it when i get my hd receiver.
