@sathob good effort.your research has further strengthened my resolve to wait for strong hd receiver @twinskenny as ecowas4all indicated viasat 1 is fta and u can watch it with ur mpeg2 receiver. @raw unkat i really dont know if u can use the gbs decoder to watch fta channels.the best is to try it n c since u have it.

Multi tv does not show live epl matches.If u have a big dish(1.8m and above) u can get some epl matches on Viasat1 on Nss7 cband.

Blakstars:
,
Arsenal/Portsmouth game on 22/08/09. what one can't confirm is wheter they will just show
the free-to-air premier league games.
Last season three TV stations(GTV, TV3, NET 2) here in
Ghana showed the free-to-air premier league games. those stations are yet to run any commercial
s on the games. i am wondering if Viasat 1 got the rights instead of themhuh
@Blakstars

I should think it is the Match of the Week(normally on saturday evening or monday night) they will be showing.You know the DSThieVes will not allow them to show the other ones.
Then again it is the Liverpool vrs Aston Villa( Monday 24/08/09, 19.00GMT) that looks more like the Match Of The Week not the Arsenalvrs Portsmouth(14.00GMT).Anyway it's all good, no complaints at all for freebies. grin

spacevice:
@ Blakstar
According to Spaceman those matches will not be shown on the satellite channel. Was it the same channels u watched the game last season? Can you track the National grid?
@Spacevice
The 2m at  w6 is the one for national grid.In fact the only difference between 2m national and 2m monde(on atlanticbird3 cband) is the football shown on 2m national.So yes u can watch the game  on the one  on w6.

@Pek
Are u sure u r not  a daaarsat agent/employee? smiley grin
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 1:52am On Aug 09, 2009
@sathob i nailed w6 since it surfaced last year.I remember a friend in accra said he nailed it with a 90cm.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 3:49pm On Aug 08, 2009
@sathob i'm not surprised 2m is available in ashanti because i believe reception gets better moving up north.i have to agree with u on those 'taking without giving'.if our brothers from NAIJA didnt see the wisdom to set up this forum and contribute generously most of us would have been paying a lot of money to those so called installers.SO MY FELLOWS FROM GH CONTRIBUTE MEANINGFULLY AND LETS MOVE THIS FORUM FORWARD, IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION OF COURSE.

@ALL
Just heard on Joy Fm ,radio station here in ghana part of the multimedia group(owners of multi tv), that there will be a launch of etv ghana, which is going to be a partnership between etv south africa and the muitimedia group.
Is it why etv has gone scrammbled? Just a thought.
Anyway watch the space!

By the way GHc150 is about $100

@sporchii,
You still don't get it. I'm not picking on you but just trying to make you and others see why
reading from the shadows doesn't do you any good. As we speak, there are hundreds more
who just log in, browse the thread, take note of anything new what is happening and they
proceed to implement and even charge a fee using such knowledge. They may not even be
registered NL members but they read all the same taking advantage of the lax nairaland rules
that allows free readership without registration. Do you know that in most European forums,
you cannot even gain access to their pages unless you're a registered member? And even
after becoming a member, the clock starts ticking on you. After a few weeks if you don't post
anything and you only always log in to read and download-as the case may be, the wizard will
stop you and force you to post at least a message to the thread before you can continue
enjoying membership privileges. I'm not just making all this up, I know because I'm a member of
a lot of those type of forums.

None of us here is a satellite technology major in college. We all have our different professions
but we took up FTA as a hobby. Through dedication/regular interactions we are where we are
today.
@George D
Spot on! Without people contributing meaningfully the forum wouldn't be as informative as it is today.

@ ALL

On arabsat 30.5E there are three channels(RTD,Tayba tv and SSTV) which are supposed to be received with at least 2.85m dish based on my location,southern Ghana . Check http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/arab2b_medium.html .

However I receive them with my 1.8m dish with relatively high signal quality(60+%).Just want to point out that not all information are strictly correct on lyngsat. Keep exploring
