Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 9:58am On Nov 04, 2008
@Nash_FTA

The tp u gave for the NTV-Uganda happened to be on my receiver already but no signal for it.I wonder if the tp covers West Africa as well.The website, www.ntvuganda.co.ug ,appears to be under construction.Thanks
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 5:59pm On Nov 03, 2008

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 5:38pm On Nov 03, 2008

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 12:23pm On Oct 29, 2008
@Sathob,

In September the signal was good and I had up to 60% signal quality on SABC1,2,3&ETV(I'm not sure if there is SABC4) but for the past 2 or 3 weeks I do not have any signal on it eventhough blind scanning still brings out the tp.

@Gangsta,
Thanks

@ Gangsta101,

Thanks very much.Very well explained
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free to Air codes by captainus: 9:42am On Oct 29, 2008
@Enigma,

On sat-max.net I observed two key formats: The DEC(24 characters) and HEX (16 characters).

The key format on my decoder(4653x) is 32( for biss keys) on a row or 16 in two rows(for irdeto, cryptoworks e.t.c).

Now my question is how do I enter the 24 character(Dec) on my decoder?Thanks
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 9:18am On Oct 29, 2008
@ Gangsta101, Enigma

I got the key to KBS World(Intel 7/10@ 68.5 c band). However  when I input the keys manually, it would not open the channel;though when I input the keys to AflamTV(W6) it worked.Could it be that my receiver(4653X) was not fully patched?

@Enigma
I've a question for you on the "Free to Air Codes' thread.

@Salamander ,Sathob,

Any news on the various dish sizes(price,availability e.t.c)

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 11:03am On Oct 24, 2008
@ Salamander,Sathob,

I learnt Hispasat/Hotbird are a possibilty in Ghana with a 3m-3.5m fibre dish.But as Sathob said the price coated by the Lebanese man is very scary.If  we can get the above dish at a reasonable price grin and having looked at the content of the two birds (especially hotbird) I think they will also be very good alternatives(to nilesat).What do u think?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 2:18pm On Oct 22, 2008
@Salamander,
The beams that are receiveavable in west africa are the SE zones(e.g that of RTI La Premiere,3743H,3220 Cote D'Ivoire which I receive with up to 70% signal qaulity).All the NE zones are not receivavble inWest africa.So the new GTV tp is not for WesT Africa. Hope I'm making some sense
@sathob,
I checked with my guy on Nilesat and he said the same thing as those guys at Strong Tech said.He's even talking about 4-5m for a quality and stable reception. I'll still try to find out if there's anybody with good reception and the dish size.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 7:57pm On Oct 15, 2008
@ALL  Belgium vrs spain on direct8  on W3 .Note that the direct8 on nss 7ku is normally scrambled when they show live football.so stick to w3.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by captainus: 10:40pm On Oct 13, 2008
@salamander u dey?long time @All i think my message to sathob prompted adewest to make his statement.may be he under estimated how a hot cake nilesat is on this thread.i hope he has a pleasant surprise for all of us. @adewest i live in southern Ghana but if u can help my brothers in lagos then u've definitely given all of us hope.so come out of hibernation and share ur xperience with us
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 1:13pm On Oct 13, 2008
@ sathob it's true, madam's movies is non negotiable. I think for nilesat the least u should start with is 2.4m.after several attempts i'm yet to get any tp on nilesat with my 1.8m.but i know nothing is impossible
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Official Thread of Free-To-Air Satellite TV (Part 1) by captainus: 9:27am On Oct 11, 2008
