Removal of subsidy shouldn't be a debatable issue, if GEJ and his economic team have put forth palliatives measures before bringing up the removal of subsidy. I think the removal should be gradual and not the way they intend to implement it. I think this subsidy issue is more of a political battle and has no economic benefit. It's GEJ and the cabal. I pity Beaf and the likes. If you are benefiting from this government, I would suggest you go into hiding and enjoy your share of the cake. You wanna tell me your intelligent than most youth in this blog? This f---king country of yours live heavily on fuel like the US but lack basic amenities of life. They're talking about money that would saved but do not know how the savings will be implemented. You guys should go back to the drawing board and come back with a solid plan on how to remove and implement the gains. Precisely, the removal should not be instantaneous but gradually. He should setup a committee both at Local, State and Federal level and let them propose how the savings will be spent. This could take 6-12months. |
Cool looking pillars on previous page. |
beolar:Does the 4M include money to acquire the land? If it doesn't, 4m will do, but the interior will not be superb. You may install Alupan, asbestos roofing because longspan roofing cost much. |
Duplex coming out good. Nice job Spyder. |
In fact, stick all educative thread on page one while the ads (junks) can float around page 2 - ~. I know your a silent follower of this thread. We wanna see all educative and brainstorming thread on page one. I think Seun should start assessing fees on those Ads. Some agents are posting more than one ads a day. |

Those roads are in Abuja. You need to go elsewhere and take real Nigerian roads. |
Let them go to hell! ![]() |
beautifulcrystals@yahoo.c:Seconded |
It's unfortunate all our quality assurance ministries are not doing their job or they don't know their job. Everything brought to the market should be scrutinize for better quality. Most stuffs here in the US are built by US company but are made in China. I tire for the country called Nigeria. |
spyder880:Builder/Architect Professional Designer indeed. Half baked designer that calls themselves professional. Wonders shall never end in naija. |
@Fhemmmy, I think this thread got all the answer it needed and most thread before it have answered most of questions asked. Happy Sunday!!! |
^^^Am Alone, if you check page 5 of this thread you will see, Sprumbaba made mention about tiles of uneven sizes. Sprumbaba: @Am AloneThese kind of tiles are called non-rectified tiles. Rectified tiles, also known as Dimensionally Stable Tile, this is a term used to describe porcelain tile that is consistent in its dimensions. This is due to the fact that sheets of porcelain are cut after being fired. Traditional tiles are cut prior to firing, often leading to inconsistent shrinking. Non-rectified tiles need professional installation. It's unfortunate, most of our artisan are not creative. In fact, that's the reason you went through such stress during installation. |
There's nothing to write about this house. I will say it's a waste of money and the time spent to build it. |
Nice, keep it coming. |
Waiting for for the updates, |
Am Alone, more update please!!! |
^^^ You will find good tiles at any Home Depot or Lowes' stores. I'm Texas based, so I'm getting it from a floor shop in Ft Worth. Tiles are of different grade, quality and the price varies. It all depends on your pocket. Visit any Home Depot or Lowes store and speak with a floor specialist. I'm sure whoever you get will explain better with live samples on display. |
^^^Vitrified tiles are very similar to ceramic tiles, but are made with slightly different elements. The clay is mixed with quartz and feldspar before it is heated in the kiln. These extra ingredients melt, creating a glass element inside the tile. This glass component makes the vitrified tiles very hard and resistant to any type of absorption. The floor tiles in the bathroom has a shinny surface like vitrified tiles. Vitrified tiles cost a couple of dollars more per square foot because of their extra qualities. Vitrified tiles also need a stronger adhesive than ceramic tiles, which can cost more in installation. I was told there's a bigger tile market in Orile. They tend to cost between $8 and $20 dollars per square foot here in the US. @Sprumbaba, I'm still looking for two more cars to fill the container. I would let you know once the required number of cars have been met; then, I'd be able to determine the space for the tiles. |
^^^Check Am Alone Finishing thread, There's a lot of fun going on there. |
@tadelara, can we talk off line? I may need your assistance since you reside in ATL. |
If you are born in the UK, that does not translate to English until certain requirements are met. If your born in the US or born outside the US by a US parent. You still remain an American even if your parents are Nigerian and holds a US citizen. I hate when people from Nigeria extension called UK come online thinking they know what's obtainable in the western world. Again, she didn't claim she's not Nigerian, so why the beef. She's a US-Nigerian breed. If you got nothing to say please take your hands off that keyboard. |
^^^ what's the size and weight of your pallet? These information is very important to determine If I could help you or not. |
kikeige:If your looking at cost, you may go for vinyl tiles for the less traffic areas. Vinyl tiles are made from a plastic urethane compound and designed to look like traditional tiles. Available in various sizes, they also come in a variety of textures and colors. They are usually either self-adhering or glue-less with a separate spray adhesive and don't require special tools for installation. Vinyl tiles are easy to lay and, depending upon the quality of the plastic, can be hard-wearing. They are also relatively inexpensive compared with traditional floor tiles. However, vinyl tiles are hard-wearing enough to resist most day-to-day use, but may scratch if they come into contact with sharp objects. Although they resists moisture, any spills must be cleaned up immediately so the liquid doesn't seep through the joints and weaken the adhesive. When laying vinyl tiles, the floor surface must be completely clean and dry; otherwise, the glue may not adhere properly, and any imperfections in the floor are likely to show through unless the tiles are reasonably thick. Precisely, you may install Vinyl (a.k.a Rubber/plastic Tiles) in the rented apartment. The lifespan is not comparable to any stone or ceramic made tiles. Laminate floor looks good and much more affordable than many other materials in terms of upfront cost, and is very easy to install. It offers the rich look of hardwood, and is fairly comfortable underfoot. Laminate has a short lifespan compared to tile, and cannot be refinished or sanded like hardwood. It is also susceptible to scratches or dents that cannot be removed or repaired. @Sprumbaba, the container loads here in Dallas and it's been transported to Galveston (Houston) for shipping. |
@cap28, For your information, there's Nigerian-American. If you hold a US citizenship and your from other country, your classified as Yourcountry-American. Don't bring UK ideology here. We run a different system here in the States. |
