This Property section has been a great source of information to people like me. Let me tell you my story. I paid my Engineer for the plastering of my 3-bedroom 2-1/2 Bath Bungalow. He has been stylishly making me to pay twice for a job that should have been done in the first place. He intentionally, made me buy those China doors and said it will be fix after plastering. I felt this guy wouldn't charge me for installing the doors and the burglary instead he wants me to pay N70,000 after paying over N200,000 to plaster in and out of the house.

I contacted Brabus via IM and he gave me an idea of how much the door installation should cost. He said at most each door shouldn't cost N2,000 to install. I got 9 doors to install which comes to N18,000 in totaled. I wasn't expecting to pay this guy a dime because, I felt the doors should have been installed during plastering. Apparently, he would be making an extra N50,000 from me again. I told him all I would be paying is N2,000 for each doors and if he can't do it for that price, he should forgot about it. They guy told me he can't do stuff at a lost. My old woman called and asked him to consider my offer but, he declined. I told my Mom, she don't have to beg him because he's not doing the job for free. I advised my folks to seek direct labor for the installation and guess what? The doors were installed for N1,800 each.

The same guy always dupe me when it comes to quantity of materials used. If my folks are not there, the bags of cement used are always in high numbers but if they are there, the numbers are moderate. I'm not really concerned about that but I'm much concerned about the job done.

There's always frustration here and there. Like Fhemmy rightly said, honesty is uncommon in Nigeria. That's the reason I respect the likes Spyder880, Brabus and Co. I know many selfish contractors or builders are not really happy with these guys. Since Spyder started blogging about his 6 Bedroom Duplex, only God knows how many deals he's sealed.

It's simple. Ribadu is an opportunist and not a Politician. This is a national calling but being a politician, I don't expect him to accept such offer from an opposition. @caseymoney,in regard to the pvc issue,some of them r fire proof,i was present when one was set on fire in front of me and it never melted,just got dark.i saw it with my own korokoro eye.but i have been told that some of them do crack overtime,i will think those ones might be on d cheaper side and as u know in naija everything has a grade

Spyder, I need you professional advice. Can I proceed with the suspended ceiling in my project as my floor tiles hasn't arrived from the states? My Madam is visiting this Easter. The house must be completed before the end of March.

^^^^ its not all fences that has pillars in between, the pillars are for added strenght to make the fence more stable. It is difficult for the fence with pillars to fall, especially those fences with beams to chain it.
Many fences are done with double standing blocks at intervals as pillars, this has its own pros and cons too.

Does double standing blocks serves the same purpose with the pillars. What's the cost benefit for using blocks instead of pillars. I guess pillars are more expensive than than double standing blocks.

Spydee, what is the significant of the pillars in-between the fence? Must all fence be constructed with a pillar in it? Please advise.

Blocks like that can be easily built locally. I don't see the need for importation.

Spyder, you will give some private builder heart-attack with your breakdown. Nobody, could save this much than an experience builder. My little 3 bedroom bungalow has taken morethan 3M from me and we are still at the interior finishing (Tiles, Electircal and Ceiling). In fact, I'm projecting 6M - 7M to complete the project.
