Okay, thanks. So why didnt people fear that it may send Zenith price to 12 region then considering the volume?
What if Access Director needed to raise enough cash for other interests? Has he done something wrong?
Make una no vex o, I'm just trying to understand the rationale behind the fear ni. grin

Thanks Oga Pluto and Oga Rebekah for your response.

From what i have read on this forum and others so far, i think these are the reasons why people are concerned.

1. It is unusual to lift a closed period that has been imposed because the board is meeting to consider the audited accounts before sending it to CBN. It either means that by that date, the auditors will not have finished the audit or that there are disagreements with the auditors on the audit which may not be resolved by that date.
2. Point number 1 is worsened because a key management staff has now taken advantage of that lifting of close period to trade in his shares (forget for now the quantum of shares traded) and key questions that arise are
a. Was the closed period lifted to enable him trade in these shares?
b. Is he privy to a fact by virtue of being an insider that other people do not have?

3. Concerns remain about the Q3 accounts especially in view of the the abnormal administrative expenses and the fact that it seems implausible and improbable that a bank can declare such growth in asset and profit from acquiring a bank that most analysts agree had bloated asset figures and had struggled to declare any profit for years.

All these do not necessarily prove there is anything wrong with the bank or its books but just seems unusual. It is now left for individual investors to analyse these fact and attach different weights of importance to them. Different actions will be expected from those who are adept risk takers and those who are very risk averse and are focused on not loosing money. In any case, sooner than later, the real reasons will become clearer.

In the case of Zenith Bank, a FPI sold for sure through Stanbic and there was no need for disclosure in the NSE portal as they are not insiders. Many things could have driven this including portfolio rebalancing etc. We do not know for sure.

I just dont get something here.
When one director was busy offloading Millions, if not billions of Zenith some days ago, you guys kept holding the faith and didnt fear.
You all saw it as a bargain opportunity, what makes the Access sale now different?
Is it because the Zee director did not announce his own or what?
I'm just not understanding...............
OK. Access' price may go down small cos of the volume sale, but may not be that bad as we may think.
Let me come and go and read you guys reasons for the panic anyway.......but I see no panic so far............ grin

A FPI offloaded Zenith and not a Director.

That stock was among the stocks promoted by Abayomi Obabolujo in those days (around 2007 or so). I remember going to Abayomi's office then at Onipanu to buy 50,000 units at N5 per unit (that is totaling N350,000). The one that pains me most is that a friend of mine also bought 60,000 units simply because he saw me buying and thoughts the future of the stock will be bright. Japaul was the basis of comparison then as Japaul was selling around N12 or so.
The truth is that I investment in Geofluid is a mistake and I have since move on. They have a registrar which I cannot remember now. So, you can find out any information you want from the registrar.

N250,000 you mean?

Access Diamond would have been the sweetest but over analysis killed me, both from the access side and the diamond side

Dangote flour deal should teach everyone that holding stocks @ least for medium term pays especially those that are trying to clean up their houses, I can still remember someone giving analysis of how Alhaji was buying for #3 a stock that was selling for 0.80k, and in less than 5 years Olan now pays #20+ for the same stock....... No pain no gain

Currently UACN, Larfarge, FO are doing some form of house keeping

Guinness is doing same but I can't pay #30 for Guinness, I will buy towards the end of this administration, by then it must have fallen.....

Dangote Cement will Start a kind of cleanup after Jan 22 Egm

Lightning does strike twice. Guinness is very unlikely to drop materially in price.

That was why I said things are not well with the former CEO and the parent company.

If the former CEO left voluntarily, he can't pick up an appointment with a rival company.

In the telecommunication sector if a management staff resigns he can't pick up an appointment in a similar company in the country until a period of 5 years...

In most cases whenever they resign, the cross over to the banking, manufacturing, oil and gas etc.

The former company secretary of Lafarge resigned about 2 years ago to become the company secretary of a bank

There need not be any problem between the CEO and the company before he resigns and picks up appointment in another company immediately. There is mobility of labour. You can resign and pick up another appointment in any sector, including the one you are resigning from if you have a better offer. The lady company secretary you mentioned was head hunted by the bank and gave due notice to Lafarge, took a short vacation then resumed at the now defunct bank.

In the case of one company buying another one in a nascent industry, as part of the sale and purchase agreement, for an additional fee you can agree with the sellers not to engage in competition with the company they are selling. It does not stop them from entering another business line altogether.

My own question is: When is the unbundling going to take place?

Still uncertain. But what you should be watching out for first is the recapitalization of UPDC which will likely precede the un-bundling if one judges from how they presented the different steps to the restructure in their release to the NSE. If this is the case then don't expect any un-bundling till maybe late Q2 of 2020 after all the steps to the rights issue have been completed.

Me thinks they are delaying because they may have one or two additional subsidiaries they want to get rid of and/or maybe eyeing acqusitions as well.

For UBA, new units of shares of UCAP and APR were created to be issued to uba shareholders.
I know UACN is the parents company of both UPDC and REIT but I also understand that you can not pluck units of shares from the air. It is either they create new one or some unit holders are given up their shares.

UACN will simply cede the portion of the shares it owns in both entities while other shareholders who hold the shares independently will retain theirs. If UACN owns 60% of the shares, then that's the proportion that will be given to existing shareholders of UACN in an agreed sharing ratio. If some existing shareholders of UPDC and REIT do not own shares in UACN, they wont be getting any additional shares from UACN. That's how i suppose it will work.

WAPCO is 10MT and the market values it at N224billion.
OBU will be 8MT and they valued it at N1.2trillion.

When Obu is eventually listed,Mr market will place it where it belongs. That overvaluation can not stand for long.

Good morning all

There is need for us to return to the discussion about CCNN merger with Obu Cement I will not like us to miss out

CCNN is will be delisted and Obu will be listed on 8th January 2020

The publications so far are not very clear as to how much the listing price of Obu will be but they are pointing towards N35.11

Like I said earlier I don't think it's a bad Idea to buy CCNN @ its current price and sell on 8th January .........

My bros, you wouldnt understand jare...but I sold with little profits. grin

My Sister, No be say i dey put mouth for your matter o but look your portfolio and decide say you no go sell any stock for the next 6 months. Infact if you can do without looking at prices for the next 2 months that will be helpful. With the way things are going, if you come back in the next 3 - 6 months and sell off half of stocks in your portfolio, you will most probably make much more money than being very active in the market on a daily or weekly basis.

Even the best chartists and fundamentalists will tell you that there are two periods of time patience makes the difference in determining successful stock market players. Patience while waiting for the right entry price, and after you have entered, patience while waiting for the right exit price range.

Even the best analysts and and chartist will go burst if they lack patience. Also remember to always have a stop loss price that you should treat as dogma.

As Agba don run from this forum till next year, i am sure he has entered at his chosen price and is not checking day to day price. Ditto for people like Oracle who are just checking price for fun and i can bet are not involved in day to day activity.

My sincere thoughts seeing how you have narrated your entries and exits in last few days.
