Okay, let's hit it off.
The God factor is something humans created to give them an edge where they feel that their strength/power has reached its limit. Something of an X factor if you will.
But the problem is this, it's not exclusive to Christians. Every human irrespective of religious persuasions feel that they have that something extra that'll give them an edge when the chips are down.
Is it real? The answer is NO. It's all in the psyche/mental will, like a patient willing themselves to health because they've done/observed a few things which they feel will make it happen for them.
Is that a miracle? No.
Do I believe in miracles? Let's just say I've been around patients long enough to know that there's nothing like miraculous healing. A lot of coincidences though that are being called miracles.


I don't think there's a God/Gods, so I don't believe anything anywhere is controlling the universe. Because every thing/challenge we face is a direct consequence of our actions/inactions.
I think people who say that everything in life is predetermined by God are just lazy and don't want to accept responsibility for their shortcomings in that same vein, the reward system we've created in the sense that our good deeds would be rewarded in heaven and bad deeds rewarded in hell has created a bunch of lazy individuals who don't want to live in the now and affect their community positively but rather wasting away on Earth and building imaginary castles in an imaginary Utopia, that by the way is a way to deal with depression associated with hardship but doesn't really tackle the root cause of the hardship.

I also think prayers are like rolling the dice, no one remembers all the time that you lost, just that one moment that it went your way, that's what'll be celebrated.

I wish you all the best in your health/treatment and journey of self discovery. Like you, my journey started after I left Nigeria and mixed with people of varied backgrounds.

And no, you're not a backslider, you're just a guy with questions which our religious leaders are really shying away from answering, it can't continue forever though.

When a Saint dies, he goes to Paradise i.e Abraham's bosom but when a sinner dies he goes to Hades i.e Hell: refer Jesus n the thief, story of Lazarus n the rich man, even Paul mentioned being in the presence of the Lord after death.
So Lazarus died for 4 days (science says dead bodies starts decomposing after 3 days), he must have being in Abrahams bosom i.e Paradise and Jesus commanded him (he couldnt have resisted) back to life to show He had power to resurrect the dead.
Because at the rapture, the second coming of Christ, all that died in Christ will return to their graves and rise with their decomposed bodies together with the saints on earth to be joined forever with the Lord in the Lord!

D last one dat held in lagos had a capacity of over 100000 though not everybody gets healed but at least 80% are healed.

I have spotted so many errors in the lives of so many religious fanatics including Christians. They've not healed anybody. Kathryn Khulman's case is peculiar. A lot of people she claimed to heal have been found out to have succumbed​ to their illnesses.
A very popular case was a spinal cord injury patient who removed her brace after being told that she's been healed by Khulman's, she died the next day.
All these people that they've claimed to heal, do your follow up and find the truth. Don't just read their books, they won't tell you everything.

Religion offers a "false" sense of hope like you said.
Faith healing is a scam. You'll see pastors and bishops and reverends in hospitals in their multitudes coming for one illness or the other.
These same people will tell their congregation not to use modern medicine but still run to the hospital when shitt hits the fan.

There is something you need to understand. There are questions you can't just say I have no answer to. For example imagine the America government telling the US citizens that (up till now) they don't know who is behind 9/11 (An event that happened that happened in 2001 - 16yrs ago).

Questions that bothers the origin of universe, how it all started, how we got here... are to critical to be filled with "I/we don't know". People will definitely come up with all sorts of explanations (ID is one of them) and since there is no concrete proof to back all these explanations, the confusion and arguments will go on.

There are things we didn't know in the past that will we know now. The problem I have with organized religion is that there are still holding on to 2000 years old piece of work as fact and answer to most of these questions.

In summary, as we investigate and research, I will adapt to new findings but for now I believe a being with infinite source energy that is not bounded by space and time started it all. The source energy is in you, it is in me.

So, because I don't have an answer to a question yet, I should come up with bullshitttttt?
