davtosh: Facing Front is a big task for them almost impossible.
Many turned atheists because of pain failure and disappointment at a point in their lives like Tai Solarin their great uncle.
The were "offended" by God They were "Disappointed" by God so by that He does not exist.
They jump at every thread on God and on Men of God like vultures that have been starved for days. Insulting God and His worshippers.
Facing Front is impossible. They just cant. I don't know where you guys get these ridiculous ideas from. Do you guys have a christian meeting where you sit around and make shittttttt up? Making shittttttt up is a favorite Christian pastime anyways, one look at the Bible is all you need. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Should Cloning Be Legal - Debate On Cloning by CatfishBilly: 3:29pm On Apr 13, 2017 |
akintom: The question of sameness didn't arise in my earlier post. Cloning can give us human being. I simply opined that such cloned humans may be used for gene therapy. Since the possibility of mutation isn't what one will want to gamble with, in biological humans. Cloning a human for gene therapy is redundant, it serves no purpose. The gene that wants to be replaced is already defective, a functional copy of that gene is readily available from donors and there won't really be immune reaction to it, it's like using $1 million dollars to solve a problem that could be solved with $20 dollars, it's not cost effective. As for mutation, cloning is a copy of human gene, that means any defects that a human gene is susceptible to will also affect the cloned gene including mutation. Dolly the sheep the first cloned mammal died due to suspected accelerated aging due to it being cloned. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Should Cloning Be Legal - Debate On Cloning by CatfishBilly: 1:57pm On Apr 13, 2017 |
akintom: The etiology of some disease are now tied to gene. If we have a cloned human, on whom genetic therapy can be administered, I'm of the opinion that, this can provide a hopeful means of finding cure. Gene therapy and cloning are 2 different things. In gene therapy, you find a defective gene, get a functioning copy of that gene from somewhere else, implant it into a retrovirus then the retrovirus is directed to a particular loci of the gene to add this new copy of gene. |

Foxyn: if buhari order the soldiers to free all the boko haram commanders in the prison.
and the soldiers take to the act and they were free..
now who will you blame?
the president or the soldiers? Intellectual works and mechanical order are 2 different things, so your analogy doesn't work. God wrote the Bible means God wrote it down himself or he dictated someone who wrote it down. Example, Adolf Hitler write Mein Kampf. God inspired the writing of the Bible doesn't mean he wrote it. Joseph Stalin inspired the writing of Animal Farm doesn't mean it was Stalin that wrote animal farm. In case you've forgotten, it's Human beings like me and you that sat down over drinks and decided which books should be in the Bible and which books should be removed. There are more than 100 books that should be in the Bible and they all claimed they were inspired by God and the holy Spirit. |

God himself is everywhere at the same time. Angels are only errand boys and guards to humans who are saved. There's no single angel that is omnipresent. If you do not know what omnipresence means then look it up. Here you go making shittttttt up again. |

Unlike others, I actually have a Bible where if you quote, I'll check it out. Just like DoctorAlien quoted a scripture and I called him out on it, he hasn't replied since. |

Amberon: This means you aren't a Christian.
Look, Satan is NOT omnipresent. He is not everywhere at once. He only has demons who are scattered in different places doing the work of their master (Satan).
Are you also not a spirit? Are you everywhere? Are angels not spirits? Does this mean that each angel is everywhere at the same time? Do you have any scriptures to back that up or are you just making shittttttt up? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Should Cloning Be Legal - Debate On Cloning by CatfishBilly: 9:10am On Apr 13, 2017 |
Cloning basically means creating a genetically identical copy of an organism/organ. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's tackle the bone of contention.
Cloning a full human would be senseless because it serves no purpose whatsoever. It's all talk and projections, nothing concrete has been done. I challenge anyone to list the benefits of human cloning here
Cloning human organs however, is an exciting prospect because organ transplants would be as easy as having a CS or appendectomy done. There won't be any case of transplant/organ rejection whatsoever because the transplanted organ is genetically identical to the recipient, OJB Jezreel would have been alive today, Prince James Uche would have been alive today.
Sadly, it's still all talk because nothing tangible has been done.
The prospects and future of cloning looks exciting.
All the opposition against cloning has mostly been from religion, which makes you wonder. For now, we have to make do with stem cell therapy. |

To Adam was committed the earth and all that it contains, and so his choices affected the earth with all contained in it. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Romans 8:22 NKJV That's what it says, there is no sin there. Ever8054: sir,as a Christian, personally what I call beneficial to my life is that thing that will contribute to my spiritual growth and will draw me closer to my creator..and all you just mentioned cant offer me such. ..what matters to we Christians are things of the spirit and not things of the world. the difference between we and you is that,.we believe in the fact that our existence is totally the work of a supernatural design while you guys has no base as to your existence. you are existing because you exist. now to make you understand things better,..science is the source of nature, that very nature you guys has not been able to ascertain its source.. or you do,'but for academic relevance has refused to agree with reality that God is the source of nature that is why God is the greatest scientist. that is if you insist to take it from science regards. ..I wonder how you guys feel comfortable to take away intelligence from creation not considering the logic that is so glaring even on you as a figure. ..just look at the design and functions of your body parts. e.g your mouth to eat food, intestine and others to digest the food, anus to excrete and make way for another food, and availability of the food. eye to see your way..ears to hear, brain to reason, hands to fold perfectly to perform suitable functions,..the amazing of it all...male and female organs for reproductive purpose.. ha..consider those things then come back and tell me there is no intelligence behind this arrangements but....then tell me its by chance... I heard you calling my name Now that you have entered intelligent design in your argument, kindly move over to this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3735154/arguments-against-intelligent-design and continue your debate there. |

They can never have a demonstrable hypothesis. It's beyond their reason. It's beyond their capability. It's beyond their resources. What do you have against Wikipedia as a source? Everything abnormal and undesirable didn't exist in the perfect world GOD created. Leaves didn't decay. Everything was perfect. Sin came in, and brought death and decay.
GOD will still rid the earth of sin, sinners and the curses of sin. Okay, address ectopic and abdominal pregnancies and how flawed the retina is. While you're at it, also add shortening telomeres that lead to cancers and failed mutation repairs that lead to cancer |

DoctorAlien: Trash as usual.
I've never learnt anything meaningful from any write-up posted by any "freethinker" on Nairaland. Look at a confused fellow saying that science has "debunked" Intelligent Design simply because they don't have a demonstrable hypothesis.
I'm sure the OP doesn't know the meaning of "debunk".
No wonder they are so "intelligent" as to believe that everything exploded into existence 14 billion years ago from a small mass of nothing. Or that they descended from monkeys. For something to be accepted by science, it has to have a hypothesis at the barest minimum, Intelligent Design proponents don't have that, so they're grouped with Dr. Iguedo and his Goko Cleanser as pseudoscience. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Arguments Against Intelligent Design by CatfishBilly(op): 5:53pm On Apr 11, 2017 |
DoctorAlien: Very ignorant post. Only a simple human being devoid of any shred of understanding doesn't know that death and infirmities are the curses of sin.
I'd advise you to spend more time on your books than you do trying to appear intelligent to a group of confused individuals. So, the obvious design flaws from birth like inability of humans to synthesize Vitamin C and Folic acid and ectopic and abdominal pregnancies are also the result of sin? |
