Lemme get your info straight.

1) You have 5 nos of 12v 12ah batteries which you have been using for a while?

2) You want to get another brand new 5 nos of 12v 12ah battery and connect both the old and new battery in parallel to boost capacity?

Do I have it correct?

If yes, then there are two problems

1) It is not recommended to add old batteries to new batteries. If you do, the old batteries will make the new ones weak due to a lot of factors relating to the battery's age differences.

2) Assuming both batteries can be paralleled without issues, you'll have issues with charging. Assuming it takes 4 hours to charge it full using the old charger the ebike came with, you are now left with a charger that will take 8 hours to fully charge the batteries.

When you connect these two batteries in parallel, the voltage will remain the same and therefore it won't damage the motor controller. Because what you'll have is 60V but @ 120AH (the battery capacity will double with the voltage remaining the same).

Before I forget, someone here offered to build you a new pack using 18650, did you not take him up on the offer or the cost is not something you'll like to work on at the moment?

Because I'm looking at the space, I doubt it could fit in another set of 5nos of 12ah batteries unless you are planning on building an external battery bank.

And the added weight of the new set of 12v60ah batteries will further increase the consumption on the battery.

I think if he really wants to massively increase capacity and still get a modest weight to current ratio, then 18650 pack or LFP pack is the way to go.

Bro, I'm confused already. I just say make I sha siddon dey look as the thing go pan out.

One of the three combined items had speedaf registered number originally, the second item had speedaf unregistered while the third one which was shipped from Hong Kong had the Singapore EX....SG tag.

I woke up one day about a week ago to see that the tracking number has been changed to NG....R (for the three combined items), which sounds like good news, though it still has the EX...SG as the alternative tracking number. But the apparent bad news is that despite the NG.....R tag, it seems to be behaving like the typical Singapore Post. In fact, the tracking information is not the typical Speedaf format, it's more like the typical SingPost.

The transit has reached like 30 days and it is still stuck at "departed country of origin" in line with the standard SingPost behaviour. As per the normal speedaf wey I know, ẹ go don reach my doormot by the third week.

As ẹ come dey behave like SingPost now but with Speedaf nametag, I no know if ńa speedaf go deliver am or na the dreaded NIPOST EMS.

So now as the situation be, it wears cloth like a sheep, but it keeps behaving like a wolf.

Haba. This man is not Nice ó. At all at all.

It is getting established beyond reasonable doubt that he is indeed a serial rapist who uses the tools of his work (BRT bus) for his crimes. The fact that he got away with previous ones including that of this november evidence (which most likely wasn't his first) was the reason he continued in it.

Ordinarily, public buses including truckers always have cameras installed to monitor the driver especially and also the entire spaces in the bus. Just one camera is enough to pan the whole interior of the bus and the cameras are usually installed at the side of the front passenger of the bus so that it pictures the driver and the whole areas behind him to the rear of the interior.

But no, Nigeria matter na always half cooked. At the end, a life has now been lost and most likely this issue of camera will still not be considered until another similar incident happens again.

480 pieces of 2.6ah of 18650 should give you 59.2v normal voltage and 67.2 at full charge. Which is about 4617.6wh or 4.6kwh.
If you were in Abuja I would have source for the battery and make one for you.

It has a closed hall sensor, one of the reason I was mad with the seller because I specifically indicated that he includes open hall sensor according to the advertisement in his store which states that open hall can be included upon request. He was later yearning rubbish about that being the manufacturer's comment and not the seller's.

The other one I got came default with open hall sensor. Sadly it doesn't have temperature probe sensor and temp info on the screen unlike the one with short range which is up for sale. Surprisingly the temp sensor also works accurately well E ough as I tested it.

Not that I don't want to use spot welder. It was deliberate because my cells are link with fuse wires for protection if BMS failed.

What I do is link only the positive poles of the cells to fuse wires (made that from 200 ohms 1w resistors). It is only those fuse wire links that are soldered onto the cells at one end and the nickel strips at the other end. The remaining connections are all made from welded nickel strips.

I tried using the spot welder to weld the resistor wire (fuse), but a lower gear is not adequate to weld. Increasing the gear to a higher one leads to the burning off of weld point on the nickel strip directly beneath the fuse wire and no weld is achieved.

What tesla did was to use Nickel strips with specific thickness to the current needed (in short, nickel strip that acts as a fuse), then use that in the spot welding process.

That's if you get the Tesla though... as they are they ones that are always pushing updates to their cars. I doubt the Hyundai Kona will need much in terms of updates and even if it does, it will certainly be pushed to your car no worries.

EVs are the way forward. It just makes too much sense. Make them just bless me with like 50m and that's it... All my energy and survival needs will come from the Sun (As God intended )

I have a wireless meter that I may have up for sale. I used it for about one week before retiring it because it wasn't the model I intended to get. The range is shorter (about 10 meters in the open) compared to the one I saw on you tube which has around 20 meters. I eventually bought the 20 meters range meter which I currently have hooked up.

So the first one is available for pick up.

Edited. I realized you intended use for solar input monitoring. This one would serve purpose better for energy usage monitoring from your batteries.

Does your charge controller not have energy logging feature?

If you need a good one with basic features and non complicated wiring, check the item in this link. I have the type hooked up to a client's system monitoring the solar panel input.

Is the seller on this forum? I have chatted someone up here on NL who sent me pictures of modules that look like this too. They are LFP and were salvaged used from BEVs. He claims they still have very good capacity left, which is not unbelievable considering that LFLs can have as much as 2500 to 3000 cycles and still have 80% capacity left.

And you need to know that they don't have BMS as they are in that picture. You need to reach an arrangement with him for BMS to be installed at extra charge.

And I think he can make either 24v or 48v out of the modules, according to what he told me.

Telsa uses 21700 battery which is a modification of 18650 to have higher energy density and reduce weight. LiFePO4 has a larger size though has higher cycle life but reduces efficiency due to total weight of the vehicle.
All battery voltage drop on usage, the voltage drop is dependant on load current and battery AH or capacity.

What I understand with Tesla is that ever since the made the 2015 first tesla, they have reserved Li-ion chemistry (18650 or 2700) for their high performance trims while they reserve the Lifepo4 for the less luxurious trims for obvious reasons. Li-ion can deliver much more high current within short periods, much more than Lifepo4 can. The Tesla model Y uses Li-ion. The Tesla Cybertruck is planned to run on Li-ion.

As per life cycle, I don't know how tesla did it, but a TESLA user made a you tube video when his tesla first model hit one million miles. Although he admitted to doing a battery pack replacement at around 400k miles.

How many ICEs hit the the 300k mile range before they get scrapped?

This is 5.12kwh, 24v but can be configured to any voltage.

And I think you should invest in a spot welder. I have a USB type C rechargeable one that I got for around 18k. With full charge and at mid range gear, you can weld around 200 contacts before needed recharge.

Hybrid is like double wàhálà for dead body.

The problem of Internal Combustion Engines (ICEs) plus the problem of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). So instead of contending with ICEs alone or BEVs alone, una go come put two problems for head.

But truly, battery tech has gone far that BEVs are so much more efficient and the mileage anxiety associated with using BEVs is gradually resolving. And battery tech are constantly improving. Will Prowse (a You tuber) charges his tesla using his home solar system. US is on 120v but he found a way to change output to 240v (something about double phase) and then charge his tesla.

The only problems I forsee now is software issues with the use of these BEVs since they mostly need software programming to function.

Think about having an OTA update for your car. Or maybe taking it to computer Village for OS installation, then having the thing bricked. cheesy

Sorry to say, but Tinubu is making me to dislike him the more with this continued mockery he is making of Nigerians. Buhari may have had his way the first time and of course with an already disappointing GEJ, gotten an easy admittance by the Nigerian electorate, but with the reality dawned on us that Buhari was more useless than incompetent GEJ, no one would want to jump from Buhari frying pan into Tinubu fire.

So Tinubu should just save Nigerians another harrowing Buhari-like years and find for us a competent and healthy candidate as he has always done in Lagos and some other states in the SW.

I realize that in Nigerian justice system, full rejection of guilt by the accused in the face of overwhelming evidence does not attract further penalty at the courts, that is the reason these accused make mockery of the law courts.

In the US, admittance of guilt if you are truly guilty can give you some commutation of sentence because the judge will be glad that you did not waste his time trying to lie your way out. It is also seen as a way of the accused expressing some regrets over his actions, therefore it is only right for the judge to temper justice with mercy at that point.

But what makes them mad is if you plead not guilty when overwhelming evidence says otherwise. God help you that the prosecutor proves his case beyond reasonable doubt, then the sentencing judge will punish the accused mire for lying, for wasting the time of the courts, making mockery of the courts and still denying that you're guilty under oath.

But I hope he is ready for the added fuel consumption. This will add more weight to his kèké and that means more fuel consumption. And in this Buhari era, I don't think I will advice someone to do things that will translate to more fuel consumption. I have already packed my two SUVs since two weeks ago and commuting with either the corolla or the civic. Even today, I barely got home from work with the corolla's guage in reserve. I'm still wondering how I'm gonna get to work tomorrow.

I have been seriously praying before now that electric vehicles should become the mainstream in 9ja roads cos 2022 will be hell for Nigerians as regards the petroleum industry.

And I just wish I could have some startup capital like Elon Musk does (even one-tenth of his capital is enough for me), and I will launch affordable BEVs for Nigerians to the chagrin and shame of Buhari and Dangote.

You see, Nigerian government is so concerned about her citizens in Ukraine that fir the evacuation, they are making use of the US president's Air Force One Airplane with all the advanced missile defence capabilities. They will also provide mid air security with our super tucanos all just to defend against surface to air attacks from the Russian forces below. This is why it is so expensive.

Nigeria is a cash cow for a lot of evil people, both citizens and non citizens.
