Hey guys! FIFA is good to go! Its all going down, am on the site now and the players list have been released. Time to build the killer squad! |
@OP Actually you need a little bit of common sense here. Good enough you hinted about your family having a helping hand in procuring the said car but you didn't mention if your boss is aware of that. You can take a step to discuss that with him to keep his mind down. Believe me, one man businesses had been bankrupted severally in this country by thieving staff and every Entrepreneur's antenae is always tweaked whenever there is any sign of that. You don't need to prove to your boss in a one man business that 'you don hammer', because he gets to see you every day, and he is bent to feel you are shortchanging him definitely. Everybody knows that with 50k/month in Lagos, you will have to put in a good number of years in a job to be able to afford that car, and that is why your boss probably feels you must be swindling him somehow, even if he can't put his fingers on it. Another thing that comes into play is the kind of car you actually bought, if it is anything close to a million bucks, then it is not wise, given your earning capacity. I will tell you that even in corporate organisations where the structure is diverse and you earn far bigger than that, you can't just go and buy a 3mill car when your bosses are using prob. 1mill+ cars. Its just common sense bro. All in all i think Mr Lager's advice, though too funny is not a bad idea, for you to redeem your relationship with the boss if you still see a future in that company. Let's see hot it goes. |
@TKB Let the training begin nau. So we'll be ready 2kick backside immediately Mandela declares the event open. I don't want my team 2be like super eagles's poor preparation ![]() |
@TKB You got a rookie in here. Just registered, what next coach? Hope they serve loads of McDonald's burgers at haf time Since am new on it, i'll be taging u badly. And who says rookies don't win grand slams ![]() |
@Emperoh You surely have spoken as a veteran. From my little experience this January, surely its not a job for the faint hearted. I drove a Tincan cleared, registered (dec' 2009) car to the east and it was really an experience for me By the time we got stopped by the first MOPOL check point in Sagamu, my fearful elder brother suggeseted that we should better go back to Lagos, pack the ride and take public transport, considering the number of check points still ahead. can you imagine how fearful folks can be? But for me Combine my heart of steel with the adrenaline rush of cabling a new car that long distance, i was ready for whatever. I set my foot on gas after settling with #200. From there, it was from one check point to another, some #100, others #200 according to how the Mopols were feeling, spending average of 5mins at each point But that first stopping also did something good for me, it proved to me that my papers are all genuine and correct (because you can never tell what these licencing agents do when you give them money to do the right thing) Another trick i used is that because my company is a well respected one, i just wore my Id card on the neck and once they stop me, they first of all exchange banters before asking for something for 'd boyz' It was only a bunch of criminals in Edo state(local police for that matter, they ordinarily have no business on the high way) that insisted that the customs certificate number was not written on my papers ( i wasn't travelling with the customs papers). For real that guy nearly took 1hr from us because he was demanding #10,000. can you imagine After much negotiation, i had to grudginly part with #2,000 as time was running out. It was really a nice experience for me. |
veetubes:Haba bros, you saw a fully numbered car and you are still asking this ![]() |
@Wirinet, God bless you for the definitions, dear. Even if Ajanlekoko claims he doesn't understand English any more. AjanleKoko:You got it wrong bro. The issue is not whether it is genuine or not, because you can easily give out #2m daily out of probably #50m raked in. The big issue is why service delivery companies will turn around, because of the large customer base they control and with easy/free access to them, instead of delivering their core services, start offering full time lottery. It is criminal because it is done in subtlety as it takes a discerning mind to sift the game plan. There are so many well defined lotteries going on in the country today and no one is raising an eye lid because what you see is what you get. they come to you as a lottery game and you decide to play or walk. I had raised this alarm long time when this fraud started and nobody was asking questions. You know you gave up after seeing the bubble was burst. If the telcos decide to register as lottery companies too as you have claimed, so be it. But at least by then, Nigerians will know they are entering into lottery games with their eyes wide open. I still want to see the telcos pants sued off Where are the Consumer Protection Commission Lawyers ![]() |
Afroprince:I understand you bro, but you can agree with me too that there are still houses/flats 'to let' in the Lekki/Ajah axis that u can afford. A friend with Zain actually had to make the same move 'cos he too was living in Surulere then and the stress was becoming unbearable. please don't go for the ones they demand pay in dollars ooo I think its high time they start charging some people for treason o, or is it economic sabotage, imagine! paying for house rents in usd while in Naija! ![]() |
AjanleKoko:Chairman, You and i knows that this is totally a fraudulent process right from day one. The likes of Madoff that recently got sentenced in the states for their PONZI schemes did not also force people to invest in their bogus investment schemes. But when they were found out, the law rose up to protect its citizens(some of whom had borrowed and invested what they probably could no longer repay in their lifetime) Cities like Vegas are virtually built on casinos and rolling dice but thats because you know what you are in for, and nobody complains even when you gamble away your future generations there, but corporate social responsibility demands that you don't put up a game that ultimately becomes a lottery when you are not a registered lottery company. I am still saying it, why did telcos move away from genuine promos like the good old BOGOF (buy one get one free) or recharge #1000 and get free #50, because a genuine promo that is not pure lottery should be able to deliver basic value to the customer with the additional hope of the promo winnings. If my country leaders are what they ought to be, we won't just be talking about banning the promo here, we would have been talking about class action and possibly, some people smelling the rod. Hopefully we will get there one day! Ignorance is gradually giving way to consumers understanding their basic rights. |
My own analysis of your situation is thus: Positives; 1. Lovely family 2. 250k/mth Negatives; 1. Living far from office 2. Waking up too early 3. no job satisfaction 4. you hate lagos bc of 1 and 2 5. living far from family From the data above, i think the only negative tough point is the job satisfaction which you, and only you can actually define for yourself as it is relative. The rest is simple. To resolve the remaining 1,2,4 and 5; With 250k/month, you can get a place that is closer to your office, its this idea of getting cheap accommodation at the outskirts of Lagos that keeps people in perpetual bondage of spending half of their days on the road transmuting to and from work. Especially people like you that can afford a decent accommodation within the metropolis. I personally wake up around 6.30am, have some little fun with my wife n daughter b4 driving just about 30mins to the office. it makes life easier, after all what else is the money meant for? By the time you tidy the accommodation side, you'll begin to love Lagos again and within a little while your wifey (remember they will be coming over during holidays) will finish up school and the family reunion is perfected in Lagos. then you can live happily ever, after. ![]() What do u think folks ![]() Afters; My cousin actaully did that, and the wife went right from 1st year to final year Law in Enugu, now they are back together with their two strong boyz! |
cecegorz:@AJ Its like the FG has woken up to send rainstorm on your guy's fraudulent promo party, finally. Probably they've been reading my argument, who knows? I hope you guy's will be forced to make refunds ![]() |
@Dami, You're right with the physics part, but they just throw in those in between years. The basic questions are quantitative/verbal type. |
tundebabzy:Hey Tunde, Are you writing for MIT on Friday, 21st too? I have loads of past questions 4over 2 mths now. Even at that, work won't let one study as you wish. Could have sent you copies but they're all hard copies and its only 2days away. Truely, they're typical GMAT type questions though in some yrs they added few IT related questions. That lady at the PGd office is really terrible, i wonder if she had not been paid for 2yrs, I discovered the first time i went there, she is supposed to attend to graduate students but she behaves as if she is being kicked in the teeth. Well, wishing all of us success |
Wow! I was just discussing with my colleague last week that Seun has really tried to have kept his servers running uninterrupted since 2005 when big corps like yahoo and FB have been recording down times, not knowing that yday was going to be one of those days. Thank God you are back @Seun You can PM me if you need data warehousing services. |
initiate:You take style make sense here, bro. But my argument is in this line, if they are compelled to do it in line with genuine promo where you can send the text to your prefered receipient and not to a useless number. In that case whether you win the millions or not, you already have value for the text you sent. Or they can say, for every text message you use on your phone, you have so so number of points |
Don1Dee:Sorry for the challenges bro, Before profering solutions let me get some right information from you. 1. Were you using a trial version of the Antamedia software? or you purchased full modules? 2. From which media did you install it originally? ( net download or CD-Rom) 3. Is it the latest version 1.7.1 or less? These will help in narrowing down the issues resolution. |
I think the basic issue i see here is still lack of effective communication from HR. Its not enough to assume staff will understand the prevailing circumstances. Once there is a rule of engagement, any party breaking that should be able to communicate to the other inorder to forestall the kind of feeling being expressed by the original poster. For people saying OP should rejoice for still having a job or should just put in his letters, the question i want to ask you guys is, what do you think will happen if the staff refuses to go to work for say, 2 months without any explanation? he will be sacked right? Corporate organizations in Nigeria should just wake up and respect their contractual agreements instead of always acting with those Master/slave mentality. |
Office finally climaxed for the year with the release of the much awaited promotion list. Walahi, it will take a seasoned prophet to decode what mgt. actually uses for promotion, because the appraisal scores that is supposed to be a clear guide was obviously not consulted. Got a couple of guys that had been serially denied, i feel for them. One is already prepared to travel to the queen's land this sept. to further his lot. I just wonder why management spends a whole lot of money to acquire softwares for measuring KPIs only to spurn the results at the end of the day. |
Is that the usual company policy? Have you inquired from older staff their modus operandi in such situation? Is the company cash strapped and are in a pleading position to you? In that case, whenever they want to pay, it must be in arrears based on the effective day of promo. Gotta find out these facts, gurl. Meanwhile congrats on your new level. It shows your inputs were being appreciated. |
It's really pathetic to see how these things keep repeating itself in virtually all companies in this country. Almost every body reports the same thing. Management don't communicate with staff! Considering that they are the ones that will be bombing you on your communication skills and all that during interviews, you expect them to be experts on that, but nay, you get the opposite. I used to think that it is the whole management position to always give staff the silent treatment, but i have discovered that it is actually the job of the HR, head to do that after we had a change in that position, recently. The current one is just a powerfully skilled communicator, keeping you in the know of every management decision so everybody is carried along. Dis Guy:Dude, you cannot muzzle the ox that threads out the corn, and a laborer is worthy of his wages any day, any where. Especially when the terms were spelt out ab initio. It's just that the staff are not always confident to sue for their rights because of the fear of our judicial systems. |
Extremely tired from what Did the dig graves all week, prior? With 1 man advantage for almost the whole game duration ![]() Look for for a better argument, man |
@AJ As management, you knew what i was saying all along because 'na una dey hammer' ![]() I even forgot to add that in the 'look under the crown' the price of the goods remain the same as against here where you get zapped of #100 bucks as against market price of #15 bucks. Make una take am easy for the desperate poor country men, abeg! I think R. Kiyosaki is damn right for proclaiming that the Rich print their own money. This is a classic example. |
kay0195:18 grand! Babe, u really tried ooo. Methinks there is a clear line between good old Promo and raw Baba Ijebu lottery but our Telcos have blurred the line here. In a promo you use the product at your conveneince and still have the chance of winning something e.g, 'load #1000 card and stand the chance of winning #1m'. Here, even if i don't win #1m i still use my #1000 recharge for my self. Just like star lager is doing now with their 'look under the crown promo' even if you don't get anything, you still consume the liquid content. But in a lottery game, its your money for the winning, either you win or you loose your total money, no other value is added to you. I just wonder why didn't these telcos say something like 'for every txt msg you send, you get a chance to win #1m' in that case you get value for sending the text to your preferred recipient and still hope for the winning. Rather you just send the text to a machine and get zapped of #100 bucks just like that? Is the NCC, Consumer protection council and other necessary bodies not able to see beyond the facade? |
Anybody knows anybody that has ever won these games? What the likely hood of the winning points? I know folks with over 100,000 points that haven't won nada. Ideas anyone? |
It could only be Trully everybody packs the bus against Barca on two legs encounter, but what the special one did was way beyond that, he attacked them fully at San Siro, getting his 3-1 advantage. Now he arrived camp Nou and gets down with 10 men early in the 1st half. I wish the ref was not that stupid to award that Busquet's acting, i bet you Inter would have got a goal too. The man is pure Genius, like him or hate him |
Hey folks, If the rally is actaully for IBB, how come Keyamo and Odumakin were able to speak against the devil at his own coronation ![]() It looks like an open rally for every democrat to come and air his opinion, besides IBB is not known to be an AC member now? The whole thing is now like a jig-saw, man |
temmytanny:Don't be scared bro, Just nail it into your skull that their is no security in any job any more. The security is 'IN YOU' (thanks to peak milk sha). Keep sharpening up your skills and network, if that door closes, you go knock on another. May be its time to really imbibe the 7 Habits! I have seen from my organization that the more they release people, the more fresh folks come in. Its never a closed cycle, you know. |
I don't want to believe that all promos are lotteries because in a promo, you first of all enjoy the value for ur money with the hope of extra 'winning' , your worst case scenario is supposed to be win-lose unlike Lottery where you can have lose-lose most times. Remember in the good old 'look under the crown' , i would have consumed the liquid content which even without the promo, i still had value for my money, but if i buy a thousand naira and do ten txt msgs to their numbers, i had no single value except i win. The business part of me is just imagining the volume of millions these guys are raking in with their disguised lottery. |
tempest01:I feel you, bro. Now imagine what they spin off out of their close to 20million subscribers each, but what still baffles me is that the stuff is like plain lottery. Are they now members of the National Sports Lotto ![]() |
Hey folks, This divorce issue has nothing to do with America by any means. Chris Okotie and Itua Ighadolo are not Americans. I think we should be able to look at these prominent ministers marriage cases and see what we can learn from them. I believe that just like the scripture says that in the last days 'men shall be lovers of themselves' , selfishness and peaceful marriage are mutually exclusive Personal happiness has been pushed to the extreme by holly wood and i think christiandom is subtly buying into that. We must continue to make sacrifices for the other person if we want to live happily ever after! |
Is it that the guy mints money in his house or he raids the minting corporation? That money doesn't look like they've been in circulation nah? Na wa oo for thugs |
Hey folks, I have a question for you guys on this recent plot by MTN and ZAIN to milk country pple of their hard earned monies If you use any of these networks, you probably get at least 2 sms everyday asking you to send 'GO' or 'WIN' to their designated numbers inorder to win the days' #2m or the months' #10m. Each text actually costs #100 bucks Is this actually a promo or a plain old Baba Ijebu lottery. Personally i see it as a lottery because you are not really buying any product unlike in 'recharge with Bleep naira and get yyy naira free' I am just imagining how many free millions of bucks that are rolling into their coffers per seconds. Another issue is whether they have authorized licence from the National lottery commission to do such What do y'all think ![]() |

. I just kept texting and texting and texting and really the way they send u the text makes it look like u have already won. I had over 200,000 points. Thereafter I wondered whether I was under a spell & came to my senses no more of all this s*h*i*t whenever I get a text from zain and Mtn these days, I dont waste any second, I just delete them. Its as good as gambling isn't it?
