@OP The strange thing here is where and how did the kid contact it since all known and tested individuals around her tested negative. I suggest they go back and test all the animals the American kid has come in contact with, including dogs , pigs, birds, even rats. those kids can go on kissing all manner of animals in the name of pets. Now, Lagos, are we ready to contain the spread. ![]() |
@OP For about 15 minutes he was warned to stop and not to disturb other passengers. He insisted the gospel has to be preached, he was arrogant about it. They told him they will call the police on him, he insisted, bring the police, he wont just stop. Oyibo don enter anoda level. They now have police floating in the clouds? Am just having a damn good laugh here. see why i will always love nairaland ![]() |
In a civilized soceity, this man will be instantly invited for a chat with the state securities. He sounds like some one who has a gang/gangs of armed robbers working for him. Begging robbers to lie low for 2 weeks, and then majestically resume duties, from a lawmaker PDP has finished this country. |
Na wa oo Nando oje na mmoo. They always lead in crime. Don't try them in fake drugs production. That Awkuzu-Nando-Nteje axis is very notorious for producing notorious criminals in Anambra state. No thanks to the activities of the self styled Igwe of Awkuzu (late John Nebolisa). I also believe those Ayamelum/Anambra East zone are the least developed in the state, the state government should invest more in those areas in order to engage the youths. They have massive arable lands that are quite fertile. see me talking as if the govt will just wake up and do something. ![]() |
Why won't it be available when u claim to have cleared a '96 camry at Lagos Port? Be real to your customers, man. The owner will now end up in a running battle with these custom thieves. |

http://www.tribune.com.ng/18092009/news/news3.html But he said he would not jettison all the policies of his predecessors and would sustain the relevant ones. However, while reacting to the claim of the IGP that Mallam Ribadu did not visit the country, Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, told the Nigerian Tribune that the IG was being economical with the truth, emphasising that he accompanied Ribadu when he visited the residence of Gani and the hospital. He advised Onovo to check with the Area Command, Area F of the Lagos Police Command, to be properly briefed on the visit of the former EFCC boss to the places. “I am sure that the IG was not properly briefed. I accompanied Ribadu to the residence of Gani. I was physically present, when he held a meeting with the family for about 25 minutes. “I also accompanied him, when he went to the hospital where he spent about 15 minutes to pay his last respect to Gani. “The IG can confirm from Commander of Area F, which is the next building to the Ikeja General Hospital. Ribadu’s presence even caused commotion at the hospital,” Falana asserted. According to him, the security agencies made frantic moves to fish Ribadu out, as soon they got wind of his sudden presence in the country. This, he stated, they did by combing the nooks and crannies of the country, even his home state, Adamawa, without locating him. Falana added, “As soon as the government got to know that he was in the country, all security agencies were mobilised to look for him in a small village, in Yola, Adamawa State.” What a world class policing Onovo and his boys offer us here ![]() Mobilizing all the force to the village to look for a man that was next compound to the Lagos police command. SUPER COPS INDEED! |
One lesson we can learn from the guy is that general knowledge still pays instead of all these cram and pass education some folks engage in. He is well educated, well travelled, well informed, a movie buff, a former banker, loves life and looks much like a keen observer of events ( had to picture CNN stream in his mind to answer the 'DAX' question) lol. Another is that destiny played into his hands. How else can you describe a man whose neighbour happens to be one of the answers? ( Reminds me of the Slumdog Millionaire) Forget his singlehood @36. Igbo guys generally marry btw 34-40 unlike Hausa/Yorubas that hit it well below 30. For someone that got to Ast. Mgr position in Diamond bank before going private, i don't think he will have a problem with gold diggers. Finally, as he is from ANAMBRA state, i strongly advice that he should never think of travelling home in the nearest future because ransome takers have all taken their positions behind his village house ![]() But wait ooo, what if they kidnap one of his folks and then 'phone a brother' to drop the prize money? Enjoy your spoil, man. Regards to your equally informed cousin ( Without whom you may have landed back to 250k) |
Nwanne, ife a bu UGBO! The ride is just calling my name. Never seen a car this minty on NL, asides some of inspired_men machines. Oga Aloy, is this ride in Lag.? let me have d location address, this car must have been hand picked for me. We can always sort out d price thingy. |
@Car shopper If #1.35m can move this car into my hands. U have a deal. |
@Tpharel, Only if you are the 'man who saw tomorrow' you may have known about the issue since 2001. I saw the issue myself on CNN on saturday, so how it is stale news beats me hollow. Your barrage on the Original post is unwarranted because this calls for serious discussion. You can as well log on to CNN.com right away and follow the story. The real issue now is, how will Naija users benefit from this recall since the vehicles have moved hands and left the US. Will HONDA place champion the cause for us here? ideas anyone? |
''So, tell me, will you like to spend your life with a beautiful fool?, '' -Eddie murphy, coming to America. |
GOOGLE had boldly announced plans to release their CHROME Operating System by next year Fall based on their hugely successfull web browser of the same name. The success of this new innovation can actually put Microsoft's fortunes in the reverse gear as they plan to increasingly pursue cloud computing and shift away from desktop installations. So, no more installation CDs? No more heavy investment in servers for small companies? I believe MS had read the writing on the wall earlier by subtly announcing the release of Windows 7 by October as Vista is set to go the way of Win Me. Microsoft may have brought us beautiful Graphics User Interface but their defiance in looking ahead may be their greatest undoing. Michael Arrington, co-editor at TechCrunch, says that's a big threat to Microsoft's business, but it may help consumers. "Don't worry about those desktop apps you think you need. Office? Meh. You've got Zoho and Google Apps," he writes. "You won't miss Office." Finally, Google says in its blog post that it's "going back to basics" with this operating system. "Even more importantly, they don't want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates. And any time our users have a better computing experience, Google benefits as well by having happier users who are more likely to spend time on the Internet." http://edition.cnn.com/2009/TECH/07/08/google.chrome.os/index.html |
ziga:@Ziga you really got the question spot on because Argant's info is way beyond that reported by the presss. I believe most peoples responses so far still borders on the speculatives, untill more confessions are extracted from the crew members, it will be wise to put on restraints here. Besides, lets not forget there are fully licensed arms dealers who can move their ship load of arms to any zone as long as they get their full pay, too bad right? you can take on UN on that if you have any grouse. My only regret is that we have never probed anything in this country and came up with a positive result, especially if it happens that some influential people had inetrest there. This case will just be muddled up like the Okija shrine list, halliburton, Mend patrons, , so many. Its a pity. |
@phemmy Here are the criteria they used ''According to Vanguard and Silverbird, the project was borne out of the fact that “for too long in Nigeria, so much emphasis has been placed on materialism and wealth, which in turn has led to the get rich quick syndrome and the erroneous praise of visibly corrupt and irresponsible individuals, a situation that has led to undeserving and unworthy people being bestowed with National Awards while the real heroes of our time, who have contributed selflessly to the upliftment and development of our fatherland have had their achievements gone unnoticed because of the present day celebration of mediocrity and corruption”. I think people who are hard on Kanu are most likely to be in dark about KANU HEART FOUNDATION and the number of heart surgery bills the foundation had taken care of so far. Nevertheless, by the criteria of the organisers, i believe the duo of Kongi(Soyinka) and Gani should be up there, way ahead of the pack. |
Spare me this academic junkpile! That a white American research fellow from New York will have to go hawking on the street of Lagos inorder to get info on street trading? First of all is it not against Lagos state law? What info can he not gleen first hand from all those hustling kids on the highway? I tell you, that guy is more than meet the eyes. Its too implausible for me to buy into this crap! Let him go to china or iran and try it, not only that they will unveil his true mission, he will go in for that too. Our own NIA/SSS should get a transponder/mic and bug that guy while pretending to buy his good old gala, then go back and monitor him and see if they won't unravel the real man. Talk about a country with no security! |
You want to integrate your site with Interswitch's and you are seeking help from Nairaland ![]() Are you sure you are not on a sinister move. ![]() Go talk to them officially if you are onto a genuine deal. |
Now Mr Sammautin or what? I am truely allergic to stupidity, and that's what u're portraying here. You keep blabbering while people are making serious enquiries from you. Answer them or get lost! |
@ALL This is a serious headline on the homepage but after going through the post, i made some Intelligent observations : check it out. 1. The poster 'gestapo' whose profile shows (female) actually copied the link from saharareporters.com 2. The threat is addressed to a blogger named Dayo Coker (male) 3. The mail actually came from a profile named <cpuibadan@intercontinentalbankplc.com> 4. The sender now mailed it to <Dayo.coker@gmail.com> and copied <corporate affairs@intercontinentalbankplc.com> Inference from the above observations 1. The sender's view does not necessarily mean that of the company given that he is supposed to be in Ibadan while IB plc has their head office in Lagos 2. The sender clearly mentioned 'those of us who are here and who eat from here' showing its an individual threat trying to protect their source of daily bread 3. The sender may have shot himself in the leg by exposing himself using the company's mail facility in sending such unprofessional mail, if its in my company he sure will be facing the disciplinary committee, first thing this mornig 4. The blogger should know that spreading unsubstanciated iliquidity rumour about a bank can create an unecessary panic amongst depositors who can in turn start calling in to retrieve their deposits, thus leading to an eventual actual collapse, when this happens, it goes on to become a self fufilling prophecy 5. IB plc should hunt down the blogger and officially charge him to court ( hoping that the country has appropriate legal framework to cover that) 6. IB plc should roll out a serious PR machinery inorder to quell this rumour as we say in Igbo land ''Ngbayo nwa ogaranya ka ogbugbu ya'' (maligning a noble man is worse than his murder) |
@Poster After reading your post, i began to get a fresher understanding of that statement in the book of proverbs. 'Wisdom is the principal thing', 'With all thy gettings, get wisdom', What an admonition! How can you, an internal control staff, come out in an open forum here to raise such a highly sensitive issue while dropping all the full names of people involved including your own boss, and you think you can't be profiled? You think you are anonymous but your name is clearly written in between lines. Believe me, you have shown a complete lack of tact in spilling this here. Why go libelous by calling the bank MD a '419'? If the people you mentioned were not involved in any fraud, won't they be vindicated on the long run? Is the lady the only person that is due for the so called 10-year largesse? are all the people due for the largesse also being 'roped'? If you know better or in possesion of vital documents to prove otherwise, why not go and witness for them, bringing your facts to set them free instead of dropping unfounded hints here? You are really a big disappointment to whoever puts you in their employment. Hope you will be wiser next time. |
