says who. The yoruba will be at it again after Buhari and then the hausa/fulanis that is how the baton would be changing under APC. They don't have rotation as a party principle. By implication let the highest grossing candidate win it. This way only the yorubas will stand the hausa/fulani. Like we are back to the era of yore!
The APC accepts rotation, but when the time comes, there must be a viable candidate from the region. After Buhari the next president comes from the west. If Ndigbo don't have the VP slot then, it will be a shame. However we must only present candidates with popular appeal because we are not in the business of losing elections. Osinbajo has proven his value and has the capacity to be president. An igbo VP must show the same.

PoliticsRe: Questions For Okorocha, Ngige, Õnù As Buhari Visits The East by Change2015(m): 11:21am On Apr 08, 2015
EUROBOMBER:
Why is it that our people are so myopic and don't understand the dynamics of politics? Someone is saying that we should play opposition but Berem asked a very sensible question here and that is What happened to APGA? How did we manage APGA which was supposed to be a sort of Igbo regional party? Another problem we have is arrogance and refusal to accept our mistakes. No regrets that we supported Jonathan but the Jonathan himself was not smart enough to win the elections; we did our best for him but he failed himself and now we must move on.

Any discerning Igbo person can see that we must form strong ties with the Buhari-led center. People are saying that we should kick out Rochas and I ask why? Rochas is a man that is acceptable by the Yorubas and the Northerners and can play a key figure in building bridges between these two power blocks. We MUST keep Rochas politically relevant and he MUST be returned as Governor of Imo State on Saturday.

Let me also state that we have no moral justifications to start placing demands on Buhari whom we massively rejected on 28th of March. What we should do now is to approach him with humility and make him see reason why he should not neglect us in his government.
Your position is surprising but sensible. But the first step is to build political unity in the East. There are too many discordant voices coming from there so finding allies is made difficult because they don't see how any group can deliver the bulk of the eastern vote. This is why the alliance of Buhari and Tinubu makes sense. Consider the sacrifices the ACN/AD made by voting against pdp for almost 16yrs. Now they have secured the ultimate prize on their terms. There are few igbo politicians with influence beyond their States, and thry believe too much in being employed by the current government when it is clear that benefit is 99% personal. For someone like Obi to defect to pdp is beyond shameful but it makes others wary too. You really need to find better leadership.

eyeview:
All my igbo friends in Lagos voted buhari and APC because they wanted change from the corruption that had characterized GEJ's govt. But alas, the victory came and the yorubas have now turned it into a tribal victory. Very typical.
Arthur nzeribe said something in 1993 that I will never forget. He said in 1993,they all worked with abiola to deliver their various states to SDP. They put aside tribal sentiments and worked for abiola's success. But when d results started trickling in and it became obvious that abiola will win, they converged at abiola's house to watch the results and celebrate the victory. But on arrival, they were barricaded off by the yorubas who had turned it into a 'yoruba parapo' affair.
Please Google the results of the Abiola election and you will see that while he Abiola defeated Tofa in his home state of Kano, the majority of the eastern vote went to Tofa/NRC. Nigeria is becoming used to this scenario from the east.

PoliticsRe: A Copy Of The Flier PDP Is Distributing In Lagos About APC? – Check It Out by Change2015(m): 8:25am On Apr 07, 2015
This stupid document is meant to appeal to a target audience and perhaps we should stop and ask why the writers believe in such an approach. We have a significant number of northerners in lagos but they are more subtle in the politics. All the tribes are here but no other was claiming that pvc distribution was being denied to them, or that they are being targeted or marginalised in one way or the other. This is a dangerous game some are playing but I am sure the APC will respond appropriately. There are enough Igbos in the APC making a positive contribution and it just amazes me that lagos has been so accommodating, an exception to the real Nigerian story.

PoliticsRe: When Did We Become IMMIGRANTS In Our Own Country by Change2015(m): 2:32pm On Apr 06, 2015
There is a simple explanation for this. People live in one place, pay the taxes rather unwillingly, if at all, take no interest in the local organisations that are not focused on their ethnic group, and then send money to their town/village unions. And most of all they refer to the town/village as 'home', going 'home' for Christmas, easter....
I always wonder why people do not participate in the civic life of the place they live in but still expect acceptance. As an APC member, in my ward we have all the tribes but mainly yoruba, bini, Igbo, calabar. The confluence of cooperation with our hausa brothers here goes from mosque to their traditional leaders in the area but for some reason we don't have many attending meetings. My father resides in his state (we are not yoruba), but when I visit, at the end I say I am going 'home' to Lagos because lagos is where I was born and where I live and where I strongly identify with etc etc.

The tragedy of TAN is that they managed to bore the nation to death with the supposed works of 'Saint Jonathan' long before the election. The pdp was reduced to parroting TAN posters and pamphlets and the people were unimpressed. So much for illegal campaigning. Even APC took a week off in London for the Chatham event knowing that every day pdp will make sure APC and Buhari stay in the headlines. The most stupid marketing strategy ever and Jonathan has paid the ultimate price, failing in the elections. Even now instead of talking up their own party, they are still going on about Buhari this, Buhari that, haba. Mu'azu understands this but his people just want abuse and negativity hurled at the APC without explaining what makes them different, what they can do better, what their plans for the future are. Next week they will sit another exam and the results will be the same. Mass failure

Unfortunately I don't think APGA can be rescued from death. When Tinubu saw the foolishness of Afenifere dining with Obasanjo, he turned and built a different Road, and see where he is today. I almost wept when I was told that prof Ben nwabueze was one of the ohaneze leaders that endorsed Jonathan. At his age even silence would have been better. His legal opinions on matters of national importance have always captivated me but endorsing Jonathan leaves me minus one of my few igbo hero's. I admire Utomi, but he is too much of a business man, but certainly he is a good christian too.
I ask igbo people, what did ikemba do to you? You rejected him for Senate, prefer pdp at every contest by massive margins... Even massob collected judas coins to campaign against the elections and Jega. If you say you have self-interested leaders why not change them? Even now Ijaw people have been warning Asari... It is not enough to say as long as you are making a living, by your actions you have lifted the Ijaw to a level that threatens your own significance. It is not as if Jonathan was even a useful person to himself, the man is close to being an alcoholic and his management skills are a few steps above zero. How can this be your devoted friend? As OP asks what exactly did he do in the East? If Ojukwu was still here do you think he can even employ a secretary like Jonathan?

hush15:
What mighty foot print?

Rubbish....

I get. You are for Ambode. Apparently, I and Ambode come from same locality and even at that, I won't pitch my tent with him as I know he is being seriously compromised.

Do you think Nigerians voted for APC? They voted for Buhari. Even in Lagos.
Neway, me am sick and tired of one government for the last 16yrs. Since change has been called by name, change must live to its name and change must happen in Lagos.

I say No to mutliple taxation and at the end of the day, one company will consume more that 5percent of our state revenue.

I say No to poor education state in Lagos. Thousands upon thousands have dropped out due to the exhorbitant fees placed by the governor only to revert to statusquo few months to election. Also many students who have endured are yet to graduate. They not even cleared by the senate yet, most especially the external campus students. Why hasn't the governor interfered since in the release of student results that they maybe cleared and graduated. When it was money,, we saw his quick and biased response.

I say No to poor healthcare systemm this particular one baffles me cos what people see is building. A routine tour would reveal that there are poorly equipped. Isolo Marternity ward and Igando is a complete mess. One of my friends who was ikeja general hospital was attended to at the reception of the hospital, that's after several hours of waiting. Even doctors are unfairly compensated. Rather, they empower their friends to open private ones.

I say No to poor transport system. When they started the BRT system, well, I thought they meant well. They promised adequate buses and availability. What do we have today? Buses that aren't indifferent from the 9/11 or molues that used to exist and not safe. Even their services are terrible. You just stand endlessly, rude and untrained drivers andworst, you stand endlessly at endless queue to catch a bus from point A to point B.

What's even worst is that one one person Tinubu is in charge of the supply of the Buses.

I say No lies, deceit, oppression and monopoly of Lagos by one party and a few people who are not true lagosians by the way to economically rape the precious resouces of my State.

I say No to turn public properties to personal ones cos I was an ex governor.

I say No to private toll gates when as a state, we have enough to fix our roads.

I say No to alway running to World bank to borrow money when we have more than enough to grow internally.

I say No to taxing us land use charge and still plan to tax us for water we source from that same Land.

I say Not to selling water corporation. I am a product of that system.

And so much no to many other usekess project of the state government without considering the lower and middle income earners of our great state.

They have tried. Our growth is not commensurate to the revenue and money we spend annually. We can't be held to ransome. Lagos is not their personal empire. The masses are working assidiously hard to pay their taxes, they are building Eko Atlantic with massive priority. What's that. Who would live there. Won't that bring segregation into our society?

Even the Landlord and tenant law created, they can't implement it. They built houses and sell for 15million and above. Shops, over 5million... Who can afford it but few? The list is endless. Oh, lemme add this one, the security cam he spent billions on and isn't operational nko? He should account for it.
Till then,

JK all the way.
I will say this very firmly. Nigeria does not exist for the benefit of public workers, and neither does lagos State. Doctors are poorly remunerated? What God-awful sense are you making? Have you not seen patients begging for transport fare at our general hospitals, and then you worry about the person that has a guaranteed job and regular salary? I have no sympathy for them. We are a poor nation and the public sector is sucking us dry. If they are so talented in their various callings, let them go into the commercial marketplace and try their luck. I am very familiar with a couple of general hospitals and I cannot sincerely say I have come across any dedicated workers, perhaps except where ngo's have intervened. Please find out the basic salary of a junior nysc doctor and get back to me. With so many unemployed we cannot be hijacked by the few that manage to secure jobs in the public sector. Their customer Base is already impoverished but they want to live like Kings relatively?
As for the education sector, you must have observed the response when Oshiomole exposed albeit by chance, the illiterate teacher in edo state. When he wanted tout in place a recertification test for teachers, their unions threatened all sorts, and strangely enough, there was little response from the public or parents groups. Please tell me what you would do as a politician.
Tinubu in charge of but buses? Please educate yourself and stop spreading lies.

The Lagos Bus Rapid Transit System, also known as Lagos BRT, is a bus rapid transit system in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is owned by LAMATA.

First phase
Edit

The first phase of the Lagos BRT was opened on March 17, 2008, although it was initially slated for opening in November 2007 (the initiative to build the system was initiated by the government of the previous governor, Bola Tinubu. It goes from Mile 12 through Ikorodu Road and Funsho Williams Avenue up to CMS. At current, the Lagos BRT Corridor is 22 km in length.

Two operators are offering their services to the Lagos BRT: NURTW Cooperative and LAGBUS. LAGBUS is an Asset Management Company owned by the Lagos State government.

26 bus shelters are offered along the Mile 12-CMS road; three bus terminals are also placed along the corridor (at Mile 12, Moshalashi and CMS), with the bus terminal at CMS designed to integrate with transport modes of rail and ferry that are planned for future construction by LAMATA.

Fashola has focused on improving the infrastructure of Lagos but as home to over 10% of Nigerians, there will always be pressure in one area or another. And as always resources are limited. But there is a reason he is widely acknowledged as Nigeria’s best governor. As for jk, lol, please wait and see how badly he loses next week. We are not so stupid as to put the future of Lagos into the hands of a political charlatan.

Buhari na Yoruba man?

If you are so confident in the clout of the Yoruba on its own why did you not present Fashola or Tinubu and dethrone a government?

The tactics in this election had a lot of new features like PVC registrations and distribution which appears to favour Buhari.
But the strategy itself is as old as Nigeria. GEJ would not have lost this election if he was an Hausa Man and you know this!
Your response is perfect. It illustrates the difference between us. The yoruba were looking for partners to further their agenda for Nigeria, and the only realistic partner was Buhari. It was an alliance of anti-pdp, anti poor governance, anti corruption, and more socialist in the awolowo way. Your focus is on tribe and confidence to present a tribal candidate, and as you can see the people that thought like you have lost the war. Did the east even have any platform for any possible candidate from their region? No that was sold off directly to the pdp/Ijaw. And you talk about yoruba confidence, laughable. Fashola and Fayemi and a host of others have solid political futures ahead of them, while most of the eastern governors tend to leave office despised by their citizens.

mikeansy:
Rochas Okorocha is accusing the Igbo Nation of myopia but his argument is in fact coated and covered with the very myopia he accuses his people off!

Rochas' only regrets is that we have no ranking Senator under APC to make Senate President from the South East. If the APC truly want to be inclusive they can elect Ike Ekweremadu or any PDP Senator from the East as the Senate President. The ruling party can back a member of another party to emerge the Senate President! If what this truly is about is inclusiveness!

You get the sense that what is at play here is not a quest to include Igbos but a childish attempt to win votes. Its all about April 11.

Need I remind Okorocha that in this 4th republic, we have had a few Senate Presidents. From Wagbara to Okadigbo to Anyim to Enwerem! Our aspiration as Igbos in Nigeria should be a little bit more sophisticated than just producing a Senate President. The Senate President is one man! amongst million of Igbos. The notion that all we should want as a people is to make one man Senate President is indeed myopic!

There was a Confab report that would have redefined what it means to be a modern Nigerian, where we had the debate about devolution of power and true federalism. The relationship between the State vs Individual. Implementing that report will change the lives of all Nigerians including ALL Igbos! Jonathan promised to implement the recommendations of that Report. APC refused to participate in the excersize. And have not pledged to implement the recommendations of that report. This for me is why APC has no place in Igbo land.

The truth is Rochas Okorocha is not worried about Igbos and we know this. Rochas is worried about Rochas political future and winning the next election in a weeks time. His betrayal of the trust of Imo State people will be punished at the polls on April 11.

Finally Nigeria needs a strong PDP. Nigeria needs a strong opposition party. Ndigbo need a strong PDP. The welfare state that Buhari and his APC are promising can not be sustained without a tax hike on small businesses and traders. We have seen this kind of attitude in Lagos and they will try to bring that to the Center. Ndigbo need a PDP that can provide an alternative platform to challenge the tax and spend policies of APC that may punish entrepreneurs and hardworking Nigerians!
I don't think you apprehension ridiculous this is. So the APC having campaigned with a different agenda from pdp, should now go to pdp for a Senate president, someone who does not believe or support their legislative agenda? Not in this lifetime! Did your pdp ever try that in 16yrs of governance? And please it is not about the one man, Nigerians like me from minority groups like to see the mixture of our many nationalities in public life. As it is the Senate president is likely going to the North Central zone where other minorities abound, kwara or Benue.
When we see Ezekwesili vilified by her own people for taking on Jonathan on behalf of the Chibok parents, we understand many things. Soludo has received own share, and the FFK that you were all protesting just a year or two ago over the ex-girlfriends matter, suddenly becomes an acceptable spokesman who's utterances you happily rebroadcast all in Jonathans cause. Now what representation has APGA achieved in the Senate? Will they do any better next week? Will it actually matter to anyone outside of the particular individuals concerned? Does Ohaneze matter to anyone? What exactly has the obsession with Jonathan done for the East? Ozugo biko.

You kind of miss the point. The yoruba political platform has been appeased by Obasanjo and even Jonathan because they recognise the strength of it. 16 years they have waited and built their strength and alliances to this climax where they are able to dethrone a government. They have demonstrated influence, strategy, unity and determination. The eastern equivalent is not obvious. By population numbers you may be right, but by every other indicator I see a fading away from relevance.
