Clerverly: This Cleverly of a boy is the only Politics section Nairalander that has never made any meaningful or intelligent contribution since inception notwithstanding his numerous monikers.I couldn't agree more with the above quote on you...!!! |
Clerverly: Let me ask you this, during the general election INEC conducted elections for Presidential, NASS, Governorship and State Houses of Assembly. Why did they (INEC) not conduct for Local Governments? Becos each State Government through the state Independent Electroal Commissions conducts the affairs of their various LG Elections. So Wike can not replace a member of the HOA cos he didn't conduct the election that brought the House member in but he can replace a Local Government Chair cos he conducted (through the RSIEC ofcourse) the election that brought the LG chair in whenever the Court sacks the chair |

Clerverly:In the eyes of which Law? The Office of the Governor of a State is Law itself so anything the occupant of that office says stands...!!! |
Clerverly:As long as Governor Wike has made an appointment of caretaker committees your socalled 'window' for Stay of Execution has been shut against the sacked chairmen and the Federal High Court judgment stands until an Apeal Court Ruling which superceed the High Court Ruling is delivered. |
Clerverly:No, the sacked LG Chairmen should have gone to Court to seek for a Stay-of-Execution of the Federal High Court Ruling or file an Appeal immediately. They didn't see this coming right? |
Clerverly:Before the May 23rd LG Election in Rivers State, there was a Court Order barring the former Rivers State Governor and RSIEC from going ahead with the election. Amaechi ordered the RSIEC Chairman to disobey the Court Order and the election was conducted. The Learned Justice Akanbi only maintained that since there was a subsisting Court Order (Pre-Election matter) before the election was conducted, anything done after that order was a nonentity, null and void period. That purported election was therefore declared null and void and the purported winners of that election ordered to vacate their offices as they were occupying it illegally. Mind you, this was a pre-election case. The Court Order from the Industrial Court was a post election case against the Current RS Governor and RSHA Members (not against the Federal High Court) not to dissolve the Council Chairmen pending the determination of cases already pending. Governor Wike and the RSHA did not disobey that ruling. The Federal High Court is not bound by the Industrial Court Order Sir. Secondly, in law it has been established that you can not put something in nothing, you can order someone not to cut off the branch from a tree but when the tree is uprooted from its root and removed completely, the order not to cut the branch seizes to be becos there is nothing there anymore. You can not cut a branch of a tree that does not exist. The LG election was an illegal structure which Justice Akanbi pulled away from its root. The RS Governor was left with no option than to fill the vacuum to aviod lacuna simple. The IG should make Sure those Local Government are not opened for those thugs! Wike cannot be allowed to get away with illegality: |
Following the Court Ruling against the 22 Rivers LG Chairmen yesterday by Justice Akanbi of the Federal High Court, fierce-looking Men of the NPF has sealed up all the Headquarters of the 22 Local Government Secretariat on special Orders from the IG this morning thereby preventing the inauguration of members of the Caretaker Committee appointed by Governor Ezenwo Wike from gaining access into the premises. Is this the 'Change' the APC Government promised...!!! Flagrant disobedience to Court Ruling is an invitation to Anarchy |

Ok Ma'am, let's get done with this. We're not going to say 'you stole the money' but we may just say 'you know where the money was hidden' or 'kept' whichever word you choose. Can you please tell us where so we can go get it ourselves? Thank you...!!! |
double0seven:. Point of correction. She wasn't the Finance Minister...!! |
INTROVERT:Next time you ask Google first, ok? |
Rivers State House of Assembly and the Rivers State Governor has just released list of Caretaker Committee Chairmen and members of all 22 Local Government Areas of the State whose Chairmen were sacked earlier this morning by a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Akanbi The long list which contained a chairman and three members of each Local Government Area was anounced today. More details shortly Source:Rhythms 93.7 Port Harcourt |
Justice Akanbi of the Federal High Court should have also charged Amaechi, the RSIEC Chair and APC for contempt of Court kenny987: |

President Buhari met permanent secretaries from the ministries of water resources and agriculture and rural development this morning. They were said to brief the president on the state of play at their ministries. Addressing journalists after the meeting Sonny Echono, the permanent secretary from the agriculture ministry said: “Not much has changed in terms of policy” from the previous administration. If it is business as usual, what happened to the “change” promised at the last (s)election? I don’t remember the president saying while campaigning that they will continue the policies of the Goodluck Jonathan administration. |

In the past few weeks the dreaded Islamic terrorist had continued their senseless act of killing innocent Nigerians living in the NE part of the country and our dear President Buhari who promised to end terrorism in Nigerian within two weeks if given the mandate is yet to even visit any of the bomb blast scene or their victims. One can only wonder what he's thinking or doing as the C-In-C of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Even if he lacks any military strategy for now he should emulate the former President GEJ by just going there to squeeze his face and hold his chin. See sample Pic below...!!! President Buhari should visit the NE now or ...!!!

Well there may be some truth in this statement since #MBuhari recently appointed a crony as an Acting INEC Chairman who would also replace the Bayelsa State REC and they would 'cook' and announce the result in their office...!!! |
ABUJA–National chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun Wednesday expressed optimism that his party would win the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa State. Bayelsa which is the home state of the immediate past Nigeria’s President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is currently under the control of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP. Oyegun spoke in Abuja when a delegation of some People Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from the state led by Senator John Joko, came to consult with the APC leaders. Members of the delegations were perfecting plans to ditch the PDP for APC. Oyegun promised to assist them in defecting to ruling party. He said: “I want to say clearly that the leadership of APC is very happy that people of your caliber have finally seen the truth about what is going on in all the PDP governing state.” “So nationally we are on the rescue mission. What you have come to tell us today is that Bayelsa state has come to seek for rescue. You are mostly welcome. I think you need to look into all the APC state and see what the true transformation is all about.” “It is my prayer that by the end of this year, we will be able to add Bayelsa to the member of the progressives states, I will be very glad indeed to welcome you into the family.” Meanwhile, the former governor if the State, Timipre Sylva who accompanied the PDP members denied having ambition for the governorship seat. When asked whether he will contest the coming governorship election, he said: “I don’t know yet, that’s the honest answer, I don’t know yet. My role is to make sure APC wins the governorship in Bayelsa, that’s my role. The APC is going to win, that we are very sure about. On division APC leadership in Bayelsa he said: “There’s no division at all, it’s just some miscreants of course sponsored by the present administration, it’s people who are not even members of the party making some noise. The party is intact, everybody is intact in the party, we don’t even want to discuss them.” - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/bayelsa-will-become-apc-state-soon-oyegun/#sthash.Il8ee5gL.dpuf |

Two suicide bombers on Wednesday morning accidentally blew up themselves at Molai Leprosy/General Hospital and about 100 metres away from a locally established market, living both of them dead with two people injured as many residents including admitted patients and hospital workers scamper for safety. The suicide bombers were suspected to be terrorists who sneaked into the city from Sambisa forest, a fortified camps of Boko Haram sect. Molai village is south and about 10km drive to Maiduguri along the closed down Maiduguri-Damboa- Biu road, unfortunately, after the closure of Dalwa main market which is a stone throw to Molai, another market was established for people around neighbouring villages Just last week Saturday 27th of May, 2015, twin suicide bombers who were suspected to have been targeting a locally established market in Molai village which is an outskirt of Maiduguri metropolis detonated their explosives at the main gate of the missionary Leprosy and general hospital Molai, killing five people including the suicide bombers. The fresh twin suicide bombing which took place at about 11am was coming at a time and a day when the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo paid a one day visit to victims of insurgency in the state. Eye witnesses and sources said, the first suicide bomber detonated his explosives he was carrying at the same entrance/gate of the hospital injuring two passersby, while the other one who was riding on bicycle accidentally detonated his explosives at the back of the hospital before reaching the fence at the backyard, killing himself only. Our Correspondent report that Professor Yemi Osibanjo’s one day working visit led to closed down of major roads and streets causing serious traffic jam and closure of shops, stalls, schools and offices. "He who comes into equity must come with clean hands" Oshimole should first show example by publishing for the good people of Edo State and indeed the rest of Nigerians what comes to his state from the Federation acc or ECA and how they are disbursed to each LGA, Ministries or Parastatals in his state. By the way if the Governor is not disputing the fig quoted by the former Minister is it not therefore a simple maths to add the total fig to get the amount that comes into the ECA and what the bal would be? If he is disputing the total fig and saying it differs from his alleged fig then we would listen to find and ask him to show us where the figures differ but until then he should just, in his own voice "Go and Die" |
