Best advice Qudkom: I am sorry, but he knew the date of birth was wrong and he travelled to Russia and applied for a USA visa with it. Apparently due to the DOB popping up on his transcript he now decided to change his name. That is kinda tricky. On the contrary: 1. He should get a letter from the HQ he changed his name and attach it together with his passport data page when submitting online/paper. 2. Get a sworn affidavit. 3. Omit the transcript*** when submitting the visa application and attach other credentials I.e nysc certificate, bsc certificate, CV etc( Please note that omitting the transcript is a contingency should incase...)
I hope other members of this platform will give you the right council. |

He must have sworn an affidavit which he used in changing these details at Abuja and also made a news paper publication information the general public. If he has these two things then he should attach them to him application and write LOE to that effect. DMerciful: Gurus in the house,
Firstly I want to appreciate your effort for the support you have been rendering to folks here....much appreciated.
Please I need help on behalf of a friend. The previous passport he had has a mistake in his date of birth which he did not bother to correct at the time. He also used the passport to travel to Russia and came back. Now in applying for admission to Canada, his transcript carried his real date of birth so he had to correct the date of birth and one of his three names in a new passport at Abuja for 180k . The challenge now is in applying for study permit, he is expected to also attached the old passport which will show a different date of birth as well as having one of his name different. Also because he has applied for US visa with the old passport, it might be misrepresentation to say he has not traveled before to avoid attaching the old passport knowing fully well Canada and US share info.
what do you suggest he do as a way of solution to this problem? thanks in advance. cc: justwise,Qudkom,Austacus, JustMellow, makano,042viber12,frankrobbn1 |

I just looked up the bolded, looks like only Indian can use it. Could you please educate me on how we Nigerians can use it too. Qudkom: Hello, all the programs listed show reasonable progression. My advice for you will be:
1. If you have enough funds with you get a GIC (Guaranteed investment certificate) from one of the Canadian banks to pay in your living expenses for 12months. 2. I will advice you go for the 2-year Advanced diploma program. 3. Pay your tuition deposit for a semester. 4. Write a convincing SOP. 5. Lastly, you didn't mention your current job and work experience. 6. Study gap doesn't mean anything(You definitely haven't been idle this past years). Regarding the self sponsor I'll advice you get a co-sponsor.
P.s: what's the unrelated field you've been working? |

If your mum has passed then you can mention her as your mum in your application. Then get your TRV first when you get there you apply for parents super Visa for her. That is what I would do But open to more and better opinions from gurus in the house. Luckymama: Good day people. Please how possible is it to add a non-family member in your application? I have an 8 month old baby and would love to travel with a Nanny. My step mum (my Dad’s wife) would have been my best bet. But they were not legally married so there’s no marriage certificate. Has anyone ever succeeded in applying for a Nanny while submitting their TRV? Abeg make una no laugh me o. Childcare cost in obodo oyibo no be here! |

Go to court and get the affidavit take it to him to read and endorse then take it to commissioner of oaths to sign. Try this method olaola17: Good morning house. Thank you for these awesome responses and feedback.
Please kindly advice what other documents do you need to proof that someone is your guardian and willing to support your education if you cannot get him to do an affidavit as he is an old man. Getting him through the stress is a bit pushy. I have a letter of sponsorship on his letterhead paper saying he is my guardian and willing to support, his bank statement and his business registration document.
Kindly help or what else can I do to proof that claim of him being my guardian as my parent reside out of town and I have been staying with him since my undergraduate days.
Thank you. |

Below is what I think was in the mind of the VO, others can as well add or remove from it, so work on these and refire. 1) single n dependents - you are single without dependents that will necessitate your return after study hence no ties back home as regards this point 2) No support for previous travel history to assess as a positive - it means you did not put in copies of your previous visa and immigration stamped pages, but you listed countries you have travelled to. 3) No support for personal income or employment funds from a third party - you did not explain all the money that comes into your account/s on the statement of you submitted eg payslip, letter from employer, proof of business registration etc , third party here means co-sponsors if any they too must show where the money is and will come from by adding the things I mentioned earlier as the case may be. 4) Assessment of obligation is not practical - may mean that the relationship of your co-sponsor to you does not obligate him/her to sponsor you eg if you used a company then you must show why they are going out of there way to do such, if a distant relative whose last name is not same as yours you would show convincingly on a family tree how you guys are related and the person would include an affidavit of support. 5) a)-Not satisfied of provenance - you could not explain the origin of some large sum of money that reflected in your account b)- or and thus availability of funds to meet requirements of R220 - means the VO could not ascertain that you would have money available to you to complete your study without resorting to public funds thus you might either abandon the course or not finish in the stipulated time hence would need to extend your visa. 6) over all the applicant has weak ties to motivate return to current country of residence or country of citizenship - means you don't have relations like aged parents, you don't have a strong striving business, no good paying permanent and pensionable job, no landed properties, no spouse and kids that would be left behind ........................ 7) academic and professional history - simply means that your choice, of course, does not match your previous study and would not enhance your profession or carrier when you finish. 8. ) explanation provided- your SOP did not do justice to why you chose the course you are going for it should contain why you chose it and what you intend to use it to solve on return to your home. it depends on the scale they are using in canada for example if they say 75% of 5 points CGPA it is 3.75 just do the maths ( L /100) x y= Z where L is the % of CGPA you are looking at Y is the Scale you are using 4, 5 as the case may be depending on the number of years for the degree eg (75/100) x 5 =3.75 so whatever figure you are looking to get just plug it into the equation above to get your answer This what I think other people can throw more light. Otherwise, certificate evaluating bodies would have to come in. iblion: please how do we convert our NIgerian CGPA to canadian CGPA, most schools ask for 3.o or 2.5 CGPA. urgent help guys. thanks |

Don't fear I believe it wont affect your application because I have done that before without knowing what the number was as I had been given one when i was issued a visitors visa so when I did the last study visa that was refused I didn't write it, in fact, I got to know what it was 1 week to my submitting this current application. True but at the same time, there are other reasons why people might want to do that eg if the person lives very far from Lagos and Abuja so instead of coming today for biometrics and in a few days time go again for medicals they might want to do it upfront to safe cost. 042viber12: People rushing into upfront medicals, even though it makes your application fast but if u are just applying...give your application a month at least b4 going for that...cos even with upfront..u can still be denied... |

sorry for that you would have printed the page showing your medicals is still valid and added. it is not too late you can still do that but I am afraid it would delay your application a bit Gunit87: please I submitted my application online 2 days after that I was requested to pay $85 for biometrics before they could proceed with my application despite the fact that I did biometrics 2 years ago for a study permit which was refused. I think biometrics is valid for 10 years, why the request to pay again?? Kindly advise please.... |

Application Time line Submitted 22/03/ 2019 Upfront medicals 21/03/2019 Bio metrics for 2016 still valid Route paper No update yet and can not still link it to my GCkey I have tried all the combinations given sillysassysally: TRV processing time update 21/03/2019
Hi everyone, As at today, only 10 applicants have shared their timeline. Please if you have applied for a TRV, I would encourage you to share your timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.
This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.
We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".
Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me. |
