Use the hotel and stay for just one night then off you go. I don't have relatives or friends there so I stay in hotels any time I go there. Nwayiomaaa: Good day house, please how do i make up proof for accommodation on my missionary journey especially since i stated at the embassy that i had no relative abroad; but now i intend staying with a friend who doesn't really have complete papers and thus can not be referred to as my host. I would have booked a hotel to present at POE but want to know if there are other more affordable means i could pass through this without being charged for a hotel i wont stay in.
No one ever replies me here, what have i done wrong Please help a sister anyone with similar past experience |

This is the correct process. You are well informed iphiechuks: Sup, there is really no big deal about the name, from ur info, u and your family qualify for dropbox, all u need to do is while feeling the DS160 form, your maiden name will serve as named previously used while your marital name will be the current one. While submitting your document, you need to submit both passports cos they usually request for current passport and previous passport with already issued US visa. my 2cents. |

It is because they are not well informed and guided. I remember some one telling my DH when I was there to have a baby not to say that he was there for baby birth that if he does he would implicate me. When my husband called and told me I said boy not true. "I have told POE I am in the states to put to birth and I have also said you would be here on xyz date to be with me" Matter of fact was POE told me to tell my DH to say what I just told him (poe) if not he ( My DH) will be sent back. And someone who was not there and doesn't know what is obtainable is giving funny advice. So you see the kind of information that is on the streets. staceyo: I wonder y pple still believe in lying at the POE n hiding the fact that they r pregnant |

Happy weekend bro. Hope y'all are having a nice time. FADEO: Ok noted, and sorry there are buses and metro in houston, but not everywhere in houston. Like i said said it depends on your person and you location. I stayed in Fresno, there are no buses in fresno and Highway 6. And am sorry i cant allow DW of 8 months plus pregnancy to hop around buses for anywhere she wanna go. but you are correct. I saw buses in some aread in Houston. |

In Harris county of Houston the bus route covers nearly every where. If you are in sugar Land there is a park and ride there same with Katy. In missouri the bus route is there to go downtown. From Richmond (the home of oakbend) you will have to go to the park and ride at sugar land. To go to sam Houston space center buses go there week days between 8am - 6pm but weekends no. If you use a Q-card to pay you will be charged at cheaper rate if you get of a bus and go back on another in 30mins or less on the same route your card won't be charged again. Down town areas has the light train too. So my dear what you said is right except the part that there are no metro or trains in Houston. If you are using a hotel try and stay close to westhimer road or Richmond avenue the buses run on this route nearly round the clock. FADEO: Your View? Very Good.... It all depends on you and your location.... For me, it was way way more convenient to rent a car after spending over 250$ per day on transport in houston. In houston, there are no metro and bus ride, a car to drive in houston is a necesity and convienient for DW and my Little daughter. So I rented a car for less than 300$ for a week (for about 5 weeks), I could go to anywhere at time T, to movies, mall, shopping, NASA, Museum and visiting and When DW went into Labour, i had less to worry about concerning transport. The car came in handy and effectively efficient.
So my dear, it all depends on you, then level of comfort you want, and the location.
So in my view, opinion and practical experience in Houston, renting a car is a necessity for comfort and convenience. |

I just tire. The metro bus or train is there in some states and very cheap.Uber is there taxis are there. Just use google to know your route and bus number. If you stay in a place that there is no metro route take a cab to the nearest park and ride or transit center and off you go round town on your way back do same. My view though correct me if I am wrong Austine2020: I wonder why people always asks this question about driving in the US, U are in the US to have your baby, why driving? why cant they do what they came to do and leave to Nigeria and then drive as they like? instead of coming to foreign mans land with non immigrant visa and create one problem or the other for yourself in the name of driving,. What if u hit someone with the car? the next thing will be to put the blame on Devil,. I think people should avoid all these driving things and face what they come to do,. My Opinion though. |

For starters you should have a city in mind. If not then decide on one after which you google hospitals there and contact doctors there too. Then go with your doctor's correspondence as one of the documents you will take for you interview. You can also search here for some other information. My people no need for insults or quarrel. I work for a multinational ioc in our situation you have to inform your boss and hr very early so that you can be given days off for prenatal besides if you don't they will still find out from company medicals. For the leave if you have not taken your annual, you are entitled to add it with your maternity. You are also adviced as a rule to go on vacation 2 weeks to your Edd. I also know some other companies who have same policy. I hope I have being able to separate quarrel before it becomes fight. You all have a lovely day. Shawbabe: I should get enlightened to ancient human resource restrictions
Except it's a general rule for Nigerian companies. But the company I work for does not operate under those rules. In fact they try to please female employees in all way necessary because they believe in equal opportunity/no discrimination. Male employees also get paternity leave. So it's for both sexes. |

Fill your form yourself. You don't need an agent besides, they don't and can not influence the interview date. The date is on first come first served bases. E.g. if you want 10 of May all you will do is check for available space on that day if there is non then take the most convenient date for you. Queen2016: Hello my good people....please help a sister. I have been following this thread for a while now and I intend applying for the visa by feeling the form myself but someone just said the interview date I will be given will be so far, that those agents can get a nearer date. I want to go through medical.....pls I need advice asap. |

It depends on the city/state you will be at. For birth certificate check city of choice website for that. For US Passport if you are going to a city that doesn't have passport agency it means you will use post office or go to the city that has if it is close and if you can.all these will affect the date of processing. Harisbabe: Gdmrning evry1. Pls how long does processing of baby's US documents take @ the maximum if it is expediated. This is to enable me know what date to book for my return joni so as not to finish documentation and just be in d US doing nothing. Thanks |

Me thinks it is better for your friend to sign on here so that she can go through the thread from pt 1-5 with you and know what she is not doing well. OGreene: Good morning house. I am so new on this thread. I would love to hear your opinions regarding my friend's case (seriously not me )
She applied for tourist visa with her hubby, she is visibly pregnant at this time, during the visa interview she was asked if she is preg, she told them yes. They were denied visa. She reapplied, this time she plainly stated its for the purpose of child birth, the VOs took their passports and hosp docs and told them to come back a week later. My friend picked up the passports but to her shock, still denial.
Please what could have happened? Am confused. She has travelled with her hubby before (not USA), they are employed in good organisations so money is not the issue. She intended staying with someone in the US. |

Hospital bills are case specific all the quoted are for well baby well Mama. deenairaland: @sunshine5050, I hope you can get it sorted out to your favor. Amen. On the other hand,. My friend that also gave birth there told me that asides the hospital charge she paid for herself and her baby, about $3,5k,the only other bills she paid for was her antenatal visit, about 90$ per visit and then for tests.am guessing this wasnt your experience. |

They give you the closest health center to you.at time of delivery the doctors will use the closest of the 3 hospitals. Yes you can call today from Nigeria when they are awake just don't say you are calling from outside usa you will be asked for a phone number too. You can give the number of your host to lock down the appointment then when you get and buy a line you change the contact number to yours and use the previous for emergency . deenairaland: @ Chibertha, thank you so much for your response. I guess I can use a correspondence I have from a doctor in Houston. Please let me make this further clarification, the appointment you said to make, is it the hospital appointment or health centre? Because I know there are different health centers, where you go for antenatal clinics and the likes attached to the hospitals depending on your zip code like you said. Also, to make the appointment, would I be calling from Nigeria or immediately I get in to Houston, I call for an appointment.
Thank you so much for your patience with me. It's just in a bid not to assume. Thanks again. Will love to hear from you again. |

Both hospitals are part of Harris county health system they don't send emails and doctors correspondence. If I was you I will use correspondence from one of the doctors a lot of people have used to go in then waka your waka. But call to get an appointment so that when you get there you start seeing doctor. to get appointment you should know the zip code of where you will be staying. deenairaland: Hello people, Please I will like to find out if anyone has recently used Ben taub hospital or Lyndon baine Johnson hospital, both in Houston Texas recently. I want to please know how you got their doctors contact, especially for the clinic, and made it through POE with or without correspondence. Been searching the thread but can't seem to find the information. Thank you so much. |
