PoliticsRe: Buhari To Float New Party by chidichris(m): 12:03pm On Jul 12, 2009
@emma2999,
i like ur courage and ability in conviencing us over the need to have buhari back on board.
as a pro-buhari, u have done ur best in making us see the best sides of buhari and the bad sides of the other nigerian politicians.
i have this to say, u responded to someone asking for younger generations to take over by naming such ppl as ibori, mohammed abacha and other known criminal minded politicians but u refused to mention names like okonjo iweala and soludo who have in one way of the other proved good enough to be the president.
if i may ask, do u think buhari is that messiah we are looking for and if yes, do u see anyother person been as good as you considers him(buhari).
it is also good for u to know that the 20 months of buhari as the military head of state served as the prelude to the military madness in nigeria that brought nigeria to this shameful situation.
in you claims of buhari's reasons for overthrowing an elected president, do u mean to tell nigerians that the coup was a justified one and that coup have brought us the hope we have been searching.
apart from his weak govt, we also saw buhari served under another military president (babangida or abacha) as the ptf chairman which is another indication that the man is power thirsty.
on the other hand, there was no buhari even during his time as the name on air was idiagbon.
if we want to say the truth, the military have controlled the better part of our lives as nigerians and have succeeded in bringing unquatifiable shame to this country hence it is good and advisable for them to stay away. buhari was, is and will remain a military man and will do no better than a military man.
if u must campeign for a new president, think of fresh minds and bloods. pat utomi, duke and other fresh and progressive nigerians that have nothing to do with the greedy and irresponsible grand fathers like buhari and obj.
remember, the over 150 million nigerians cannot have opportunity to rule nigeria even for a night so having 20 months can serve a normal man right.
buhari shld go home and enjoy the little loots of his as second comers like obj can be very disasterious.
military criminals have proved themselves worthy thieves and cannot do better than thieves who primary objectives include, coming to steal, kill and to destroy.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Economy May Collapse In A Few Weeks —gbaramatu Youths by chidichris(m): 5:27pm On Jul 11, 2009
we have been praying all the days of our lives that nigeria will not collapse but i think this is the best time for us to tell nigeria and nigerian economy to please collapse.
all works and no play makes jack a dull idiot. the collapse of this country will give looters room to invest all they have gathered all the days of their lives and give the poor masses breathing space and thinking opportunity.
it will also give the ppl of niger delta time to rest after a long battle at least they will have sigh of relief as their goal have been achieved.
the law makers will then begin to resign as their laws and efforts will not worth it anymore because all their laws and efforts are directed and focused on how best they can share the oil revenue among themselves.
did they say in a few weeks, pls they shld make it earlier than that if possible in a few days.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Nigeria Not Working? by chidichris(m): 4:50pm On Jul 11, 2009
Jim u've said much. I've always asked that question, what role does the north play in the development of Nigeria? the leaders loot, the people tied to religion and illiteracy. if the south can overcome its differences and shame the British who arranged this marriage, maybe things will fall into perspective. is it not obvious how southerners try to better themselves. lets say it as it is, the greed of the north corrupted the south. maradona ingrained that mentality so well, I fear Nigeria will not recover.
@louchi,
i only want to remind or inform you that north is not the problem rather the south.
the south have sold their mind and heart.
abiola and obasanjo are not from the north rather the south.
abiola was part and parcel of all the coups that took place in nigeria and all these were in favour of the northerners. is it possible to eat your cake and still have them.
obj manipulated the 1979 election that saw shagari the northerner into power and manipulated the recent one that selected yar adua a northerner into power.
human beings are selfish by nature so if the northeners are selfish, it is not a crime. how far have the southerners gone in protecting themselves from the invaders.
the northerners have done a lot to put their house in order so let us not forget that.
who killed bola ige? funsho williams and other top southern politicians.
PoliticsRe: 2011 Election Result To Be Released Instantly by chidichris(m): 4:24pm On Jul 11, 2009
another new wine in an old jar.
as long as iwu remains in charge, with obj alive and the bot chairman of the criminal minded cabal(pdp) i can only see a modernized rigging system.
who is importing these machines? pdp. who is going to use the machines? pdp. whose purposes are these machines going to serve? pdp.
we are only going from worse to worst.
yar adua shld make inec independent and make the appointment of the inec chairman the decission of the house instead of the president.
before we used to have results before elections now is going to be alongside the elections so are we going forward or backward.
let them continue with the old method of having the results before the election.
PoliticsRe: Buhari To Float New Party by chidichris(m): 4:02pm On Jul 11, 2009
is either buhari has gone mad or he has been serving as a tool to disrupt others.
he is such a weak man that he cld not take a single decission while he was the military head of state.
PoliticsRe: Bode George Is The Biggest EFCC-Charged Thief In Nigeria by chidichris(m): 3:40pm On Jul 11, 2009
Your tribal sentiment, dude, is sickening. Why this title? Did the newspaper say anything of that sort?
newspaper did not say so rather the list does.
if u are related to any of the above mentioned top criminals, i suggest u go and hide ur face in shame.

@poster,
where is baba and ibori.
any list of corrupt nigerians without the likes of baba obj, tony annenih, and borrishade is an editted version.
as for bode george, if u trace all my posts from the days of ribadu, i have always known him as a a very fat criminal.
remember ribadu once presented a case against him but baba killed that matter.
PoliticsRe: Is There A Justification For The Ban Of Okada In Any Nigerian State by chidichris(m): 3:12pm On Jul 11, 2009
Most comments here are way off the mark. Some of you just sit in your air-conditioned offices, homes or cars and call for indiscriminate measures against the poor. Jobless youths in nigeria today go into the okada business coz it's relatively easy to start and there's a ready demand. Banning them will only lead to their loss of livelihood. Someone said find better alternatives, lets be realistic here, how many better alternatives exist that'll accomodate the millions of okada riders? If there were better options they wouldn't be riding okada in the first place.

As for those of you making noise about armed robbery,is it only okadas they use to rob?? When taxis and buses where used for the famous 'one chance' why weren't they banned? Militants use boats to bunker oil and attack JTF i guess they should ban boats too. . . Huh
If a person wants to rob, he'll rob! There are cars, bicycles,even trekkers who rob! What even stops a robber who's not neccesarily a commercial okada rider to rob with his motocycle after the ban?

The reasonable way out here is to organise the transportation infrasturcture including roads to accomodate the motorcyclists. Traffic regulations should be enforced by the releavant bodies. Afterall beijing, china has millions of bicycles plying the streets and it isn't a disaster.
@Tudór,
you are right but in situations like this, we must have a critical look at the issue. okada like i said earlier on has its advantages like speedy movements especially in places with heavy trafic. giving job to the jobless masses and bringing foods to many families but on the other side of it, we must look at the disadvantages which may include sending ppl to heaven with ease and on daily bases, aiding crimes of different versions and providing escape routes to criminals.

in as much as all of us here are finding solutions to our problems, we must look up to things with lesser disadvantages than its advantages.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Should Wenger Be Sacked? by chidichris(m): 2:26pm On Jul 11, 2009
to me as a former gunner, sacking wenger is not the problem but the problem is, who will replace him? the club owners are very much comfortable with the wenger and fans shld learn to live by that otherwise look for other clubs. why been a fan for live when players and coaches can leave at any time?
wenger as i see things will retire from arsenal because no other big club will be this patient with him.
so he is doing his best to make all the money he wants and then call it a quit.
there are no serious ppl in arsenal bcs once u get serious, u will look for a club. arshravin has started rebelling and will soon waka so the club is all abt dress football arround the picth and selling tickets to unsuspecting fans.
to u all arsenal for live, what will i say to u? TAKE HEART.

My uncle was Kanu's classmate in secondary school,

My uncle is 47 years old now
@smile4kenn,
kanu and other nigerian footballers are liars but u and uncle are horrible in the game of lies. kanu did not attend school in heaven rather in owerri so 1991 is the yr so tell us how a 47 yrs old uncle liar of urs finished secondary school in 1991. was ur uncle into adult education then?

@topic,
why are we surprised with what the players are doing to survive? read carefully what most of us are writing here and u will accept the fact that if 99% of us have the same opportunities, we will do more terrible things. judging by the rate of corruption in nigeria, footballers are part of the holiest people u can find in nigeria. with their lies, they are part of the few good ppl u can think of in nigeria including all of us here calling for their heads.

nigeria and nigerians have the anointing to do evil in all areas of life.

we must learn to overlook this kind of thing because we are more guilty than they are.
BusinessRe: What Business Would You Start With N150,000.00 Please? by chidichris(m): 11:42pm On Jul 10, 2009
very simple. tell us the source of the so called #150k so that we will not get into trouble for advising u. if the funds are genuine, it is well.
just start corn and pea business - very lucrative. be sure to have both roasted and steamed corns at any point in time.

if you are anywhere arround east, use the money to sponsor kidnapping and before u know it, u are made.
SportsRe: Shocker! Nff Steals $200,000 Wcq Funds by chidichris(m): 8:25am On Jul 10, 2009
nothing new here. it is a merry go round.
born to steal. it is just another news of doing what we know how to do best.
none of those criminals is interested in our qualification rather they are out to feed their bank accounts.
unfortunately, we will not know their names, they will never feel anything like shame and at the end of day, nothing and i mean nothing will happen to them because it is a culture.
this type of news will encourage the players in their own efforts to bring the world cup home for us even without the qualifiers.

you've lost me here, my friend. i fail to see what 'kidnapping' has got to do with the topic
being discussed-or is that a new style of football introduced by fifa? i think i need to
update my football lexicon.
@George_D,
in other countries, the target and the aims of football players are to play to impress european clubs to sign them but here u are saying signing a contract is not a way forward for mikel.
so i wanted to know how we will know a good player maybe by coming home to join the kidnapers association of nigeria.
be informed that nigeria has well over 5o million footballers but mikel has join the league of successful ones in his achievement of signing a contract with such a big club as chelsea.
if i am not mistaking, he is the best club among other nigerian players.
in your place brother, how many lions will a man kill b4 u call him the lion killer?
no matter what we think abt him, he has done much and enough for himself and family and has no obligation to please nigeria and nigerians.

@kitaun abi kartoon,
on the obagoal issue, God in heaven have made him(obagoal) to be above u so begin to understand and live with the fact that there is practically nothing u can do about it.
look at it this way, wether he plays in divission 10, 19 or even 89, he was, he is and he will remain an international figure. fiancially, he is better placed than ur widest dream.
his lowest form cannot be compared with the highest level of progress u have made in ur life time. in the face of realties, u and i know too well that no matter how sick and pale a cow is, it can never be as small as a goat.
as long as u live in envy, u can never progress.
u are all tired of mikel, now it is martins. are u a disable person? if yes, is it there fault? if no, why are u not playing football like them or doing something to represent nigeria anywhere in the world even if it is cotonou?
he represent nothing but shame.

PoliticsRe: Is There A Justification For The Ban Of Okada In Any Nigerian State by chidichris(m): 11:50am On Jul 08, 2009
I don’t think we ought to blame Okadas for the problems we have on Nigerian roads ooo!!! Kai!! Primitive form of transportation? I guess the millions of Americans who ride their bikes daily to and fro their destinations are not informed of this.

Like Someone already said BAN ! BAN!! BAN!!! Has yet to solve any single problem in that country. We need better roads and better enforcement of road rules. With those, you can easily curb the problem in no time at all. Banning does not, I repeat, does not solve anything. I mean you only need to look into the state records to figure this out. Okada is a necessity, just needs to be controlled and forced to comply with rules like everyone else. What do we do next, BAN cars because of the high accident rates?
@Kobojunkie,
in most of ur posts here on nairaland, u have been against those u blame govt on the situations in nigeria so am worried on ur position on this issue.
who are u blaming here for this banning? who are u blaming for the bad roads highlighted above? who do u expect gto enforce these laws on okada men and who have not been enforcing these laws? u have refused to be urself in ur desire to be a person with different views. please reconcile ur position here with ur other positions on several other topics posted here on nairaland. u have been fighting those of us who blame our leaders so if u are still confused, do let me know so that i will reffer u to the issues with ease.
be informed that for u to demand for the same hair cut with mr. john, u must consider the shape of ur skull first. americans and nigerians are not the same and their environments and ours have a lot of differences.

@topic,
kidnapping could be seen to have some advantages but what ppl talk abt on any issue is the relationships between the advangtages and the disadvantages.
like someone rightly pointed out above, a visit to igbobi will serve us right in our judgements.
on the other hand okada have been very good in taking us to our destinations on time but we must accept the fact that it is better to be late than late.
no day will pass in lagos without death through okada accident.
police reports has it that many crimes in the recent years are okada related.
it is obvious that okada has done morte harm than good hence the need even an urgent need to ban them all.
PoliticsRe: What Is Yar'adua's Greatest Achievement So Far? by chidichris(m): 10:47am On Jul 08, 2009
to me, he has tried as an unprepared president. we must put ourselves in his shoes. as unprepared as he was.
the day he arrested bode george and fani kayode and thereby proving us right for calling ribadu and his war on corruption selective, i call him yar adua for sure.
his revolking of most of the illegally sold state owned property by the past criminals.
his position on making the accused innocent until proven guilty unlike under ribadu and obj where ppl were made criminals b4 their arrests.
his acknowledgement of the fact that his selection was criminal and his efforts in changing the electorial system.
with the invincible hands arround him and with the criminal family (pdp) in which he exists, he has tried though his over all achievements have nothing very different of a typical pdp govt that have been a step forward and ten steps backward.

then goodluck to him.
@George_D,
if signing of new contract with such a big club like chelsea is not maybe kidnapping is. then if u have choosen kidnapping over signing new and lucrative contract with chelsea, then good luck to u too.
mikel must have been useless to nigeria and nigerians but to a club like chelsea, he is not.
when God has blessed a man, no woman, no man can course him.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Should Wenger Be Sacked? by chidichris(m): 8:27pm On Jul 07, 2009
Far from it, Wenger is not a failure.

success or failure in football is measured on the basis of resources to result. Man utd, Liverpool and chelski have spent blindly and are heavily in debt, so whatever amount of success they have achieved is worth it, based on the amount of money spent.

Arsenal has spent nothing compared to these other three, so when u compare resources with results Wenger has indeed done well.
But from a fans point of view we need immediate tropjies, which can only come when more resources are dispensed.

who plays better football in europe?
@noetic2,
ur arguement is like fighting oneself. with all the points and reasons that u highlighted above, wenger deserves ur respect and not the question raised by this topic. he lacks resources, he plays beautiful football and he is not incuring debt for the club so what else do u want? u can't be here and there the same time.
wenger to me will look for something else to do after his job at arsenal because that is the only club that can be this patient. meanwhile, wenger and the club owners are not interested in trophies in the next ten years because they are out to buy and sale and make the profit they want.
we must understand that if the so called wenger beautiful football is all what football is all about, every coach will be at ease and 99% of professional footballers can move the ball arround the picth like arsenal without ambition.

Yes, No matter how many times you try to attack my person, don’t you see that it never makes for you a valid point? It actually shows you yet another Nairaland tout and we all know what to expect from those in the end.

You are still offering up conjecture and I suspect you have plenty more of those to offer, so I will ask “ Can we please stop making things up and try to focus on the reality of things as they really are now”? . We had an election, possibly rigged. Obasanjo’s election was considered fair by those who wanted him, but rigged by those who did not want him.
Sure Obasanjo supported and campaigned for Yar adua during the primaries but how does that then mean he FORCED yar adua on a nation?
Was Obasanjo wrong in picking a candidate he would campaign for then? Cause last I checked, there was nothing illegal in that move.
Why did Atiku, Buhari etc Not ATTACK Obasanjo if he was truly FORCING Yar adua on the nation. I mean one would expect ATIKU, the number two man then, to at least be privy to that information. ( PLEASE OFFER UP NO MORE CONSPIRACIES TELLING ME HE COULD NEVER HAD KNOWN).
How many Nigerians actually voted AGAINST YAR ADUA?I remember quite clearly that a large number of his SUPPORTERS were on nairaland here insulting me for question their support of him.
@kobojunkie,
at what point did yar adua join the presidential race?
who and who did yar adua win to become the pdp presidential primaries?

is it possible for u to google any information u need abt 2007 elections and read enough of the things u would love to know.
SportsRe: Ik Uche To Replace L. Fabiano @ Sevilla. by chidichris(m): 11:42am On Jul 04, 2009
IK Uche is a midfielder while L.Fabiano is a striker slowpoke,
@Liyola,
wise man, no player is born striker or midfielder. one of the xcteristics of a good player is his ability to be versatile.
ik uche has quick legs and can do well in the midfield as well as striking roles. in a 4-3-3 formation in football, players like c. ronaldo who operates from the left winger is a midfielder but does most of the striking.
wright philips is also a midfielder and he does striking jobs. the idea of standing 9 is fast giving way to players who move up and down the pitch that is mobile players. look at the brazilian team, they are ever mobile hence 90% of their attacks start from their own 18 yrad box.

@topic,
that will be a very good news and one of the best transfer news of the season if it will happen.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Obj Force Yar Adua On Us? by chidichris(op): 11:21am On Jul 04, 2009
i want to once more use imo state as a case study because that is my state. Eng. Charles Ugwu - the owner of rokanna industries was the manufacturers association of nigeria(man) president during the third term agenda and that same organisation was the first to endorse third term. obj did all he could to compensate Eng. Ugwu with pdp ticket for gov in imo but Ararume resisted and was backed by a court order which disqualified ugwu hence obj was in imo state to tell the people of the state that since ugwu is not the candidate for pdp, imo state pdp would no longer context for gov in the state hence ppa won. in his decission to compensate ugwu, obj made ugwu the minister of commerce and industries under yar adua.
on the other hand, the then state gov Chief achike udenwa was the first gov to endorse third term hence he never faced efcc and was later used to replace Eng Charles Ugwu as the minister for commerce and industries till date.
the doubting thomases must take a ride to the state history and tell us how these two men are the best for the position or the slot of imo state ministerial position.
the pdp senators are o it again. nigeria is indirectly running a one party system and getting a pdp ticket is 90% close to the position. atiku we all saw was battled by all the possible forces of aso rock including the mighty dog (ribadu) who never slept till the last date. we saw how obj personally dethroned atiku from the post of vp but for personal resistance he remained.
the truth of the matter is that the list is too long that iyabo obasanjo's opponent in the election was arrested by ribadu even when he never held public post just to make sure iyabo went thru.
kobojunkie will be everywhere but ends up with no point.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Moved Up On Failed States List by chidichris(m): 9:25am On Jul 04, 2009
Lets stop clowning about the reason 9ja is on failed state alert.
Nigeria is not there because the govt. is corruption. It is there because of the Niger Delta crisis, religious riots and other areas in which the govt. has lost control.

"Common characteristics of a failing state include a central government so weak or ineffective that it has little practical control over much of its territory; non-provision of public services; widespread corruption and criminality; refugees and involuntary movement of populations; and sharp economic decline." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failed_state#2009 (same article)

If you think the direct reason is corruption, you are failing.
@beaf or beef,
what a controversial display of knowledge? what is corruption? all what u have mentioned here are xteristics of corruption.
naija is simply corrupt and govt is the key so no decoration of words.
