European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: The Epl Is Simply Not The Best League In The World by chidichris(m): 6:20pm On May 10, 2009
pls if epl is not who is? this is a simple question but nobody is ready to answer this question. i really do not know what this arguement is all about but if i must say, we are talking about which league is currently the best. if my thinking is correct, i want to say it again that it is epl. u must not like the league before u accept this fact.
ppl like dayokanu who claims to be in the usa does not even watch the league so how can he be in a position to judge things right.
espn is the only sports chanel that tries showing football but they are not showing all these league matches only a few ucl matches.
if as at last yr all the epl clubs got to the last eight and this yr they all got to the last 4 of which meeting each other has been the problem otherwise we know the rest of the story.
we watched all english finals last yr and a repetition was only made impossible by uefa nowegian connections.
before i forget, can someone link me up to the position of norwegian league in the uefa ranking that warranted the selection of the big criminal for such match - chelsea -barca.
dayokanu, pls choose another sports as americans are handicapped by nature when it comes to football and if u are there for real, get urself a discussion group in relation to swine flu or if u must talk sports, u can discuss basketball with authority.

the key word here is faith. naaman the leper was asked to deep himself seven times which he did and got healed. if paryers with oil can heal, then prayers with oil can over heal.
remember, if God did not watch over the city, it is in vain that they that keep sleepless nights watching over the city.

death are reported even in the best hospitals in the world. today rich nigerians will be flown abroad upon the experience of the slightest headache and some of them come back in caskets.
we work by faith.
Christianity EtcRe: The Seven Atrocities Of Pastor E.A .Adeboye. by chidichris(m): 9:40am On May 10, 2009
I hadly have time for fools, but since you are not upto fourty, let me see if i can help you.

A sin is an evil or wrong done against a fellow man or God.

1, What else could be more sinfull that obstructing people's freedom of movement just because Pastor Adeboye wants to make money from his gulible followers, ( you saying that it doesnt qualify as a sin shows how wicked and carlos you and the entire RCCG are)
2, Can you reply a thread in nairaland without login in your ID, if you can, then pastor Adeboye once drove 300 miles on spiritual fuel, but if you can't, then you are the most stupid person on earth to believe such false story .
3, does pastor Adeboye have other mega source of income than his poor RCCG members ?
4, You should have first learned politics before opening your dirty mouth.
5, I am not, i am smarter than criminal pastor Adeboye, that is how i  see beyond the dubious man's exterior, i no very well the game he was upto, i even do that myself atimes.
6, Thanks for the correction, i appreciate it so much, it was just typo error on my side, thanks once again.
7, Big sorry , you have been out of touch with current trend, next time learn much about whatever you are defending so you can defend it well.

Quote from: mactao on May 08, 2009, 03:14 PM
Goes further to prove how unreal you are. You can give someone 4.8 billion and they'd be back to square one again. Do you know anything about getting rich and staying rich? Why do we plan programs on training people in rural areas to farm and sew and all that? Why not just give them money?

BECAUSE THEY NEED TO BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THEMSELVES. GIVING SOMEONE MONEY DOESN'T SOLVE POVERTY!

Exactly.

You are the most stupid, useless and senseless person i have ever met in my life, what about using the money to build free medical centers, skills acquisation centers, free education centers, what about investing the money into agriculture and use the produce to help the poor, what about investing the money in human capital developments, do you know how many hopless persons that money could have helped elevated their lives ? how many foreign education schorlarship the money could have afforded  ? He ( Criminal Adeboye) preaches helping the needy, does using the billions he enmarsed from the needies to acquire private jet help the neddies in any way. do you think JESUS CHRIST could have done the same thing ( during this time of dire economic crisis)

If it was a state governor that used the billions of his state fund to acquire a private jet, you could have spoken bad agaisnt it, now it touches your pastor and it is no longer wrong,

May God help Nigeria.
@poster,
the more i read here, the more i get confussed. are u a christain?
you said something about using the money for the aircraft to change the lives of 20% of members, what about the other 80% and will that qualify him as a man of God?
if you are a christain, the Bible says in proverbs 26:12 and i quote "seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope for a fool than of him" that is just the word of God.
if you are here to convience us that adeboye is not a man of God, u must be able to tell us who is or are u in any way saying there is no man of God.
Mathew 7:1, judge not, that ye be not judged.
it is biblical that every tongue that shall rise against the children of God in judgement shall be condemed. i in good spirit urge you to look well before u leap.
by the way, pastor adeboye will not be angry or surprise with what you are writing here because every christain must learn from Christ as he(christ) suffered the same in the hands of the people he came to save. Jesus did all miracles and wonders yet he was criticised and killed so one must not expect something different here.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Poor Refereeing In European Football: What's Your Take? by chidichris(m): 8:53am On May 10, 2009
in football, a team not making use of their chances has never been an excuse. it is ok if we say there was no conspiracy. it is equally ok if we say uefa had no hand in it but let us see when next that particular refree will be on stage again for uefa. the did has been done. i must confess here that i am yet to recover from the shock of that game. bayern was very clever in their games until they met barca. barca felt the heat in the two games against chelsea against the wishes of 90% of football fans all over the world. football is not all about what we think. my prayers is that i lost interest in this game as i have not had contact with my sports chanels since wenesday.
platini in all his comments since inception never liked chelsea.
all the same, the first time i know about norwagians in sports was when morgan fraudulently sold mikel to man u and earned himself a cool jail term and the second time is a norwagian refree in a semi final game between chelsea and barca.
if this is how platini is going to handle the affairs of uefa, i am sorry the game is going down as i have never seen such an officiating in the history of football even in our nigerian league that is not possible.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Govt Sued Over Ban On Eze Ndigbo Title by chidichris(m): 8:17am On May 10, 2009
Do you care to explain the above?
Romeo,
what is it that u did not understand in my statement? as i wrote in a very plain language.

Instead of sniffing gutter fumes and smoking dog hair, he gets high by constantly flinging inflammatory and derogatory remarks  at  Anambra/Enugu people. in his warped mind, they are not the ''real'' Igbo.
grafikdon,
i do not know about inflamation and derogation here but i know about truth via experiene.
let us do it this way, check out where ever u are and let the next person(romeo) check out where he is. who is the igwe of ndi igbo or eze ndi igbo of that land. come back with your result. if truths are inflamatory and derogatory, then i have no regrets.
the issue here is that igbos are not known with kings, and if anyone is making himself eze ndi igbo even without our consent, then he is either uninformed or a joker.
going to court against lagos state govt is another way of seeking notice.

in everywhere igbos gather outside their land, it is acceptable to have unions of which a chairman presides hence the idea of eze ndi igbo of heaven or mars is born of self and inordinate ambitions. we must always remember that there are certain traditions and cultures among the igbos and certain igbos are not entitle to kingship but this either of mushroom or ten containers importer king is bringing the igbos down on daily bases.

like i said, make your research and do that very well and find out what i said before you persecute me.

most times, it does not matter how you feel or how you are affected by a statement, rather the most important thing is the truth in the statement

what is happened when he was not and what is happening now that he is not?
why wld the thought of ibori been president come into your mind? what about annenih as the president of nigeria?
what about fani kayode, borrishade, bode george, mrs etteh, iyabo obasanjo as the president?
if this topic is designed to know the likely state of nigeria if a thief becomes president, then ibori is not fit for it as nigeria has more enlightened and well informed, tested and trusted federal/international criminals to whom ibori is a no body.

someone was celebrating cnn for presenting nigerian hiphop musics and if this same cnn presents niger delta tomorrow we will all go mad in criticism. where does this kind of life work? we must learn to face the realities of life.
u must be sound before you change another man to goodness. nigeria goes down deeper and deeper on daily basis because we have hypocrites as leaders.

Please use empirical facts to back up your statement that Nigeria is a failed state - anyone can make that statement, but if it is not backed up with proof and evidence, then it is a meaningless statement.
Akpangbon,

failed state with the following;
1. no credible elections
2. no stable power supply
3. no security
4. no good roads
5. no good water
6. unemployement
7. corrupt leaders
8. corrupt masses
9. lack of institutions
10. lack of direction
sir,
i hope with the few points above, i have been able to convience you and not confuss u that nigeria is a failed, failing and , state.

@topic,
like someone rightly said, all of us will not die the same time or day. why can't the majority of supporters of this idea of revolution start something.
what nigerians and nigeria is still missing is those leaders who lead by example. kobo and co, when, how and where are u starting? can't you stop talking and start acting? don't u get bored discussing this particular issue on daily bases? are u waiting for that day when every nigerians will say yes let us go? that day will never come. ppl like us may join that fight along the line. the most important thing here is to start so let those wo believe this idea start something and we will see from there. is it possible that you guys are waiting for oposition to start this fight?

please get real. action they say, speaks louder than words. enough of all these and that. let someone start this war. i m begining to feel you guys are out to decieve others into doing what you guys will not do.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigerians Depending On God To Solve The Problem. by chidichris(m): 8:26am On May 09, 2009
if the why in your topic here represents a question as in why nigerians depend on God to solve the problems, get your answer from John 15 : 5. FOR WITHOUT ME, YE CAN DO NOTHING.
if God be for us no one can be aginst us.
unless God watches over the city, it is in vain that the watchmen stay awake. if God did not build the house, those labourers will be labouring in vain. if my people who are called by my name will humble theirselves, do away with their sins, i will heal their lands.

all in all, the question here is, are nigerians for real waiting for God? do they believe in what they are waiting for? where is our faith? is our case that of faith without work?

How do you think Adeboye Oyedepo and the like fill their pues and coffers? I'd like to ask them to if they know of any modern countery which has developed it's economy and society by miracles? ADEBOYE AND THE LIKE DON'T WAIT FOR MIRACLES THEY JUST love-vendor THE PEOPLE. When they are ill they fly abroad for medical check ups whilst they advocate prayer for the rest of us and when we die they tell us it's the will of Go[d]!!! can you beat that, their love-vendor juice is over flowing (some of these pimps bnow have private jets)
samorijack,
it is writen, any tongue that shall rise against me in judgement, shall be condemed. do not judge so that ye shall not be judged. private jets are mearnt for private individuals and on that note, can you tell us who are qualified to own them, our politicians, our drug lords, fraudstars, or our native doctors. during the time of Christ, the highest means of transportation then was horse and despite Christ not owning one then, he rode on one. let us watch what we say. today in nigeria, young men of different backgrounds are buying private jets like cars on daily bases so oyedipo and adebayo might not be a bad idea if they are used for the propagation of the gospel.

i said something above about faith without work. here i want to believe there are two schools of thoughts on the ways to solve our problems viz; those waiting for God and those who believe in action. what about these two?
is it not a good idea that those who trust in God continue and those who believe in action to do their thing?the problem of nigeria is that even those of us who believe in action only do that on the newspapers. how many of u who believe in action have done a thing? this thread is all over nairaland and will keep on coming up from time to time without a piece of action. when are you starting this much talked about actions? these action preachers here are less than toothless bulldogs. yes, everybody here seems to support the idea of acting but non is ready to break the ice.
let us learn to do what we preach-put up actions and stop engaging this forum with actionless actions. let us learn to practice, leadership by example. we must learn to be ourselves. let our actions speak for us.

mr. poster and supporters, how, when and where are u starting the action phase of this talk - talk? if not for gentility and responsibility, i will be forced to call you deciet. deciet in the sense that you are not ready for the actions that u preach here. deciet on the other hand because this topic looks like something designed to discourage people who believe God for actions.

PLEASE NOTE: many like me are believing God as the last resort. when everyother alternatives have failed, when no other solutions seem possible, when we have confirmed how unpredictable ppl like u are, when we noticed that biafra war could only worsen our situations, when we observed that many like you can you lead the the oppressed to the red sea without crossing them, when we realized that nigerians have finally lost their conscience. of what use is salt if the taste is gone?

not until men like you begin to make their words their bonds, not until men like you stop pretending, not until u understand that action speaks louder than words, nigerians will continue to support u over the internet only.

are u like osama bin laden who will ask others to go and die to inherit 14 virgins while he keep on running for his life? are u like him who preach against americans while his families all live over there? are u like him that preach against western education while he is well read over there. nigerians are wise enough to know that you are out to decieve.

PoliticsRe: The Nigeria Of My Dream ! Can It Be Achieved By Just Sitting In Your House And Making Comments ? by chidichris(m): 11:57am On May 08, 2009
Free and fair demands that BOTH parties (AC and PDP) conduct this is a fair way. So far, it seems a majority still blames PDP for what happened and somehow believe that AC has a right to fight this. If the AC (the assumed opposition in this case) chooses to fight the results, what stops the PDP from producing evidence of the AC doing exactly the same things as it did. What happens to the people in that case? Are we better off with an AC governor /leader who also rigged his way to victory?
@kobo,
does ac rigging and pdp rigging make rigging a legal and acceptable way of having elections in nigeria? we are talking about the people's mandate. we are talking about credible elections.

@poster,
you ended up without a massage. among the names you so far mentioned as your examples, who among them engaged the govt in a physical battle?
fela we all know was always talking against the evils of govt. soyinka we know always criticise govt actions when he is not ok. so who among them fought?
again, we have been writing because we are not comfortable. what is the guarrantee that you and ur group will not relate us to the used thugs in ekiti if we stand up against the govt tomorrow?
again, where is the saro wiwa, bola ige and dele giwa you mentioned here? or do u consider what they get as a worthy reward for their efforts? will you be happy to be in their list?
again, those of us who believe in writing, talking and praying have been doing that, where are those of you who believe in fighting? how far have you gone? who do u consider worth been the sacrificial lamb? don't you think leadership by example is what we need in this new idea of standing up against the govt?
it is obvious here that those who are calling for revelution are not even their real self. they are exactly the oposite of what they preach. why on earth will you preach what you cannot do? you are a perfect deciet. people shld learn to take their sides and preach what they do. most of us are staying out of nigeria and preaching wars and revelution so who will be the participants?

We are tired of same stories. The pen has no stand in Nigeria. Its been blotted. We need physical action. Enough of national blogging on our dailies.
yicob,
make a move. this kind of movement starts with a man. you can be the man. start with your ward councelor. before you get to your local govt chairman and you will be sure to get some support along the line.
in your next response, please tell us the re;ationship between what you are preaching for and treason and felony that will be labelled against your name before your transfer to the other side of the earth where saro wiwa, bola ige and dele giwa are.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Govt Sued Over Ban On Eze Ndigbo Title by chidichris(m): 11:14am On May 08, 2009
I wish i had the opportunity of personally thanking the Governor for taking such a courageous decision.
I am an Igbo man born & bred but i feel disgusted any time i see these jokers masquerading as Eze this or that. For those of you not too knowledgeable in our way of live, Igbo's from inception didnt have any central ruler, prompting the English colonial masters to enthrone one for us (which was forcefully rejected back then because it was alien to our way of life).  However as Chinua Achebe (Igbo Legend) wrote in his book "The Trouble with Nigeria", he couldnt understand why a tribe without any know ruler not too long ago now had all sorts "Mushroom Ezes and Igwe" all over the country and the world. They cant name one useful thing they have done both in their phantom kingdom or back home for that matter. In Rivers State for example they were always paying the then Governor courtesy calls and leaving with Ghana Must Go, which they keep to themselves. Little wonder they were able to pull down mile one market, kick them out of theirs make shift stores, pretend they were going to rebuild the market in 5months, this is 3 year running and still no market, all with no resistance. This is just one example, i dare not write more coz i am already getting worked up.
It is only in Igbo land that you have Ezes' and Igwes' who when they go back to their homeland become normal citizens (Two Captain(s) cant be on one ship). I am calling on all Sons and Daughters of Igbo Land to join hands and get rid of these JOKERS, so that when we speak we can be taken seriously via Presidential Elections come 2011 or 2014 whenever it is the turn of the south again.

PS: It is also on record that the world Igbo Day is held in Chicago (Chaired by the Igwe of Chicago) and not our home land, i wonder the sensibility in this foolishness.  (Chinua Achebe)
exactly, we are ezeless by history. most uninformed igbo men have decided to make hills out of valleys.
back home, we do not have a central king so why in lagos, abuja, america and dubai? is charity no longer start from home?
find out who and who that are involved, they must be either enugu or anambra state. the igbos shld be working on how best to get united and not scattered with inordinate ambitions of being igwe of nigeria and abuja. where is ohaneze ndigbo? what are their takes on these actions of bastardising what is supposed to be a heritage? when an unknown man with no traces will maybe out of wealth make himself eze over others, what are his credentials?
all these eze this eze that, are nonentities who have bought houses enough in lagos that they need more recognitions than landlords.

wenger, arsenal owners and fans must be used to trophyless seasons. the most important thing is that owners of the club and the manager is making enough money that they have forgotten trophies.
arsenal fans will always say foogtball is not about money so we are seeing them play football without money.

The Frenchman's comments are sure to cause a bit of controversy after his side cruised past Arsenal at the Emirates,
5 May 2009 22:16:27

Manchester United had little trouble moving past Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals, winning 4-1 on aggregate. Defender Patrice Evra took some time to discuss the match and made a few statements that will rile up the Gunners faithful.

"Even today we have proved again that we are a strong team. They all spoke about this beautiful game of Arsenal, but unlike them, we allowed fewer goals and won, in addition to playing well," the 27-year-old explained to Sky Sport immediately after the match.

"Today, the result was just, we also could have won 3-0. In football, beautiful play is not everything."

The former Monaco star was confident that the Red Devils displayed their superiority over the Gunners.

"We are 11 men, they are 11 children, this is the difference. We are much more mature and have more confidence."

Meanwhile, the left-back concluded by praising both Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo for the contributions to the club on their way to the final in Rome.

"After he [Ronaldo] won the Golden Ball, people criticized him for a while because he wasn't at his best, but in reality he has never played badly," he continued. "Rooney? Playing alongside him is great, he is a player who manages to do everything."

Despite stomach pains, Evra played a competent 65 minutes of the match before being substituted for Rafael Da Silva.

Adam Scime, Goal.com
pls why will evra say this or is he correct?

What do you mean by long throat? Do you mean the type of long-throat from Obasanjo, IBB, Abacha, Diya, Aikhomu, Jerry Gana, Bode George and other non-Igbo Federal looters? Can you expanciate on that so I can respond appropriately?

, Is that Nigerians percieved the average S/E candidate will only be using presidency to further Biafra cause and simply serve their own people more than Nigeria as a whole

You mean like Akunyili, Soludo, Okonjo Iweala and Oby Ezekwesisli did? And like Obj, Shagari, IBB, Abacha and now, Yaradua, did/ is doing? You are unbelievable idiotic.
@chrisokw,
i partially share vigasimple's ideas here. a house that is divided against itself,
if nigerians agree to an igbo president, the igbos can now have the choice of featuring as many candidates as possible but what if it is a case of igbos vs other tribes? between u and i as igbos, it is very difficult to agree on a candidate.
there is anambra/enugu factor which has been playing urgly roles between alex ekwueme and jim nwobodo npn/npp days.
emeka anyaoku is just a nigerian and cannot represent the ibos at that level.

Nigeria problems stems from backward leadership and corruption, the people have been pushed to wall for so long, now there is no where else to go but to push back.Life is not worth living if you are not in control, especially when your destiny lies in the hands of some bunch of sub-humans like obasanjo, that guy is such a cruel and dumb silver back, wild silver backs are outstanding leaders, but he is just a dondee, oloshi.
it is as simple s that. when u are push to the wall, there will be no option than to push ways back.
the masses are seriously suffering and even the ducated ones cannot get themselves jobs. the country has no hope for the common man. what do u expect from a hungry man? a hungry man is an angry man and as such nothing good can come out of his thinking.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Remains The Best! by chidichris(m): 3:59pm On May 04, 2009
You have my support on this topic, that is what i have always been trying to tell all these ignorant anti-OBJ folks who have been blinded by negative press propanganda due to his poor relationship with the Nigerian press, true baba had his short comings but to this date he remains the greatest Nigerian leader ever.
KunleOshob,
wow! another dimension. from the best to the greatest nigerian leader. what a wonderful man we have in obj. have u ever thought of the founding fathers of this country? maybe they are not leaders or they are not great leaders. i do not see any point in this arguement. i will rather ask that the name of this country be changed to obasanjo as a way of paying back to a man who has done so much good to this country.
again, this great man in his great abilities have brought nigeria this far in all ramifications. he has brought us to a state where south africa under aperthied is better than nigeria.
he is so great that he also left nigeria as the only country in darkness in this whole world.
what a great man he is.

is so unfortunate that this same great man has further divided nigeria into major political war zones. the hatred in the niger delta, the ekiti/oyo thugry, the chris/ngige rigging saga, the odi massacre, the bola ige criminal killing, funsho williams demise, the iwu movies, the ribadu drama, the tony annenih contracts politics, yar adua must rule issue, his third term agenda etc are all parts and parcel of this greatest man in the history of the world.

now that thing(switch) will not talk again till the next match.
it is obvious that now that mikel is playing all games, there will not be any mikel topic here until a bad news emanates from somewhere about the boy.
well, mikel played full time and non of the chelsea midfielders is injured.
the boy is good and chelsea is great.
