before the last draw, it was IF chelsea draw liverpool, they (chelsea) are gone, after our first leg at anfield, it became, IF liverpool come to stamford, they will reverse the game. they came and we destroyed them. on our journey to barca, it was IF chelsea get there, they will be destroyed, we went there last night played with little effort. they shld be thanking their God drogba did not play his game. there was no messi, henri missed, etoo was weak. iniester got no penalty and xavi was silenced.
it is a very different ball game playing against vanlencia and playing against chelsea.
we will wait till the end of second leg but the most interesting thing is, nobody predicted was happened lst night. day after day, we go close to rome.

wow! chelsea, hiddink and mikel.
nobody gave it to chelsea.
i was happy and surprised to see mikel in the line and i was happier to see him lasted 95 minutes.
we will meet them in stamford bridge.

drogba will make use of puyol who is a nice basket.
if they can pull alves as well, we will score like 4 goal.
SportsRe: Amodu: I Need More Time by chidichris(m): 8:45pm On Apr 28, 2009
yes when obj spent his first 4 yrs in office, he asked for more time. when he took second time, he also needed more time in third term which he did not get.
yar adua is 2 yrs in office and he is still asking nigerians to be patient bcs rome was not built in a day.
can some1 ask amodu how much time he needs.
it is really unfortunate that most of us nigerians occupy positions by mistake and keep on asking for time.
it is important to ask amodu if he has any agenda before applying for that position. who made him coach? not until angry fans stone a coach one day in the stadium, they will not respect their ages.

so far so good. they were just lucky drogba did not do the thing his way.
we re still hopeful.
i am seeing a situation where barca will play the game and chelsea will win the game.
henry has learned how to row on the ground even without contact.

the ekiti rec just resigned. in as much as i understand the present situation with iwu and his employers, a proffessor shld know when to quit.
okonjo iweala came in and left when she saw how dirty she will end up if she continues with her employers.
having made his contributions in the 1999 elections, i think the best thing for him will be to resign and allow nigeria and nigerians to move forward.

PoliticsRe: How Can We Hold Credible Elections In Nigeria? by chidichris(m): 4:30pm On Apr 27, 2009
Democracy is a form of government in which the power is held by citizens.

@Poster, as soon as the citizens start actively playing their part in this system of government, instead of continuing to pass blame to the politicians who are actually supposed to be under the people, not above, then we start having free and fair elections. I believe the solution is truly that simple!

The SYSTEM ought to be made up of the Citizens making most of the decisions and the politicians working towards to will of the people. We have all the laws and policies on paper to aid us in actively partaking in government. No new policies/laws will help change things if we are not willing to switch from our current state to a more proactive state.
another idealistic opinion here. this is out of the world. we must be objective here. how do u stand up against these godforssaken criminals? do u think of what they do just to be where they are? do u think of the types of armunitions they import just for elections?
we must preach what we do. we must learn to lead by example. u must be ready to show example of what you mean by standing up against the leaders.
top decieving people here. the worst nigeria and nigerians are ready for now is war.if there is anything u consider a solution, u must be part of it as no one can act just because you have said so and meanwhile u are far away from the scene.
there is practically nothing a common man can do without God's intervention in our situation now.

If Mikel had a sound, refined and articulate representative/defender in this forum rather than a Arrow like you, I strongly believe posts in his defense would have been duly considered and maybe respected.

A homo-erectus like you defending him makes matters worse.
@maitema,
am sorry i am not here to defend mikel bcs he hardly know if u and i are existing. on the other hand, i am only telling u to apppreciate good things so that good things will come ur ways. be good and nice with progressives so that u will become progressive in life. one more thing, i read in a news that mikel do close his eyes when ever he is sleeping. is this true? somebody told me yesterday that mikel has only two legs, is that true? have a nice day brother.

i thought he will be executed!! lucky mikel. he should been made to face the firing squad!!
@switch,
u are really confused. i saw u start everton fan zone with no one interested. if your parent were not mearnt to face firing squad for producing such rediculous thing as u, it means no other crime is worth firing squad.
i know that the other thing (maitema) is not ok but ur case has gone beyond the abilities of yaba pshyciatric hospital. since ur parents are tired of u, while not try suicide?

PoliticsRe: Obj Scores Sa Polls High by chidichris(m): 11:45am On Apr 27, 2009
@ Chidichris
I think sometimes you allow your emotion to override your sense of judgment. anyway, its a common problem on this forum, arguement that lacks consistency and logic flow of thoughts.

It is amazing that the only explanation you have for your hatred for Obj is that his son accused him of sleeping with his wife. I bet some of you hypocrites have done worse things.

Sincerely, I don't want to go further with you, most of your posts are too subjective and often times lacks intellectual premise for me to get involved with you. this is what happens when newspaper stand political analysts are the majority poster on Nairaland politics section.
SegzyJoe,
it is not important if i make sense to you or not. i am not here to prove any point to you.
all i am interested is the topic of this thread which says, obj scores sa polls high. what is the moral standard of this man who is scoring an election high? iwu made a nonsense of himself when he said americans have things to learn from our election when the whole world was commending the obama election in the usa.
obj as we all know not long ago organised the worst elections in the history of man of which 80% have been cancealed yet you think you are making sense.
even if am not making any sense, it is important that nigerians are not happy with a man who in 8 uninterupted years cold not give hope to a common nigerian even with the oil boom. i have said it and i will continue saying it, yar adua is nothing but obj's extension because we did not vote yar adua rather obj forced him on us for his personal reasons. obj is supposed to be gone but he choosed to make himself a life king by amending the pdp constitution to make himself the sole apperant to the throne of pdp bot chairman.
to show his greatness and by proving who he is, he honoured the saying that charity begings at home hence e was able to lure his own daughter inlaw with juicy contracts. if you have a father like obj, what will do u? most of u here defending obj are all warning up to claim ur sonship when he dies like it was in the case of abiola bcs the obj i know must have distributed enough problems all over the country in the name of children so we are all waiting.
PoliticsRe: How Can We Hold Credible Elections In Nigeria? by chidichris(m): 11:13am On Apr 27, 2009
@chidichris your post makes a lot of sense, however are you saying it is going to be impossible to bribe a so called "independent" INEC chairman? As long as the laws which govern the operation and conduct of institutions like INEC are made more secure so vote rigging and malpractices are difficult to instigate, and as long as solid procedures which MUST BE adhered to are put in place and enforcedthen it might be more difficult for malpractices to occur at the rate they do in Nigeria. Basically laws and procedures need to be put in place which immediately serve as grounds for disqualification of the INEC chairman or an INEC official when such procedures are broken and also serve for annulment of results from a particular area or the elections in general. These procedures and laws need to be made known through ad campaigns and air time to the populace so they are informed of what is acceptable and what is definately not with regards to actions of electoral officers and security.
Sky Blue,
yes, having institutions here does not stop at inec alone. the judiciary will be independent, the corruption fighting commission must be an opposite of what we had under obj. with all the institutions in place and very independent of the parties in power, the president will have less powers and the constitutin of the country will supperior to any man be him the president of the party chairman.
but as long as the chairman of the party is appointed by the president with the advise of his party, as long as the man at the helm of affairs in our efcc is more powerful than our constitution, as long as nigeria is having two headquaters in aso rock and ottah farm, as long as past leaders have remained the present leaders, as long as this recycle in leadership continues, as long as there as untouchables, as long as pdp is the constitution of nigeria, as long as political thugs are kingmakers, my doubts will still remain thick.
PoliticsRe: The Halliburton Bribe Takers by chidichris(m): 8:56pm On Apr 26, 2009
can someone please give us a complete list of who and who that is involved.
for me, i know that there will be no high class criminal activities that took place in nigeria between 1999 till 2007 that obj will not be involved.
maybe, this will be the best time to bring ribadu back to finish the war on corruption. who is even sure his name will not be there. thieves in charge of a country.
PoliticsRe: How Can We Hold Credible Elections In Nigeria? by chidichris(m): 8:48pm On Apr 26, 2009
I think there needs to be less emphasis on the government and more on the real leaders!  for example what politician can make it in Nigeria without the funding from a wealthy individual?  The truth is the business men fund the politicians and the politicians promise them something in return, so the real leaders of Nigeria are the businessmen and the politicians take the blame ( and steal public funds).

We all know that the president could hold fair elections tommorow if he wanted to but he will not because no one gives up power willingly? If the new business class are ETHICAL they will fund ethical politicians and the change we crave will be realized.
@Lixnon,
After reading ur response, the first question that came to my mind is, are there countries where free and fair elections are held? If to u the answer to this question is yes, then are there not businessmen in those countries?
To me, the major problems of this country lies mostly on the issue of lack of institutions.
If Nigeria has an electoral body like inec that is not politically based, independent of the party in power, with the chairman of the body not appointed by the president. This body will definitely owe no party explanations at the end of every election.
Look at inec, just formed for the 1999 election with the president left with powers to appoint the chairman. What will u expect when a man is called by another to chair an election in which he is part of?
If mr. a manages to become the president of Nigeria tomorrow, the first effort to secure his second and possible third tenure will be to change the inec chairman with his close pal.
The so called businessmen will explore the loopholes given by the ppl in govt.
Presently, the major interest of pdp on the electoral reforms is in the area of who appoints the inec chairman. He who pays the piper dictates the tone.
Look at inec, efcc, and other commissions in Nigeria that are supposed to be institutions, they are all politicized to suit the purpose of that one who introduced them. No wonder every no govt will strive clear old bodies and establish theirs to make room for inordinate ambitions.

PoliticsRe: Halliburton: We’ll Expose Culprits In 8 Weeks — Okiro, Aondoakaa Says: by chidichris(m): 1:14pm On Apr 26, 2009
if there is anything nigerians shld be asking now, it is for obj to come out and tell us why he considered yar adua the best person to be forced on us.
it is obvious that from 1999 till date, the system has been the same. delayed and selective justice. what happened to the atiku saga? the same man obj made us to understood to be the highest criminal is having a meeting in otah farm possibly on how to move nigeria backwards.
to me, the 8 weeks is not enough, they shld be gunning for 12 months to publish the names. we have men whose names must not appear. the big question to be asked here is, was corruption on the high or low in that administration that made the greatest of noise on their war against corruption.
without waiting for their publication, the high powered pdp chieftains are just it.
from 1999 till date, pdp led govt cannot be proud of any single institution in nigeria. self centered idiots in the helm of affairs planting mushroom organisations to act in favour of their tenures and proudly decieve nigerians that things are getting better.
why are even interested in halliburton scandal when nothing has been heard of all budgets on our roads, power supply and other contracts awarded and paid for in the last 10 years of pdp in govt?

@Cold,
do u know who the epl record signing is? what has impact has he done to justify his worth? what has happened to him till now for not living up to his expectations? what if he is a nigerian?

all the same, good answer from one(1) anti progressive, others please.
the good news is with taiwo life over, he is yet better than some of us who will live forever and ever. we must not forget that life is not about how far rather it is about how well.
most of these guys enjoying heroic positions in life were not born with golden spoon or silver spoon rather they worked themselves into greatness and they are worthy of our praises and not condeminations.
God has made them great and none of us here has what it takes to bring them down not even our worthless gossips. fortunately, our football happiness lies in their hands of which taiwo can decide to score an own goal tomorrow and most of us will jump into the lagoons.

@taiwo,
most of us are praying for u and other nigerian players all over the world. do not be discouraged rather believe that he who started this great and good works in u will surely see u through. if your season is over for real, take time out and come home to see property at choice areas in lagos and abuja. good life is worth living brother. ur legs have played u into good life and that is what u deserve.
get urself a nice moving machine and cruise urself with joy as life is too short.

1. can't we for once report positive about our own?
2. how come u have not been following taiwo's news all these while that he has been doing great things in his club?
3. does it mean this forum serves well in negatives than positives?
4. what has gone wrong with our psoitive reasoning?
5. are nigerians more interested in celebrating downfall than progress?
6. when are we going to learn to help our own even when they are not doing well?
7. how come u did not tag this news a breaking news?
8. will it be nice to say we have more anti-progressives here than men with goodwill?
9. will it be polite if i call u one of the prophets of doom in nairaland?
10. what is the best name for those who derieve joy from pedalling negative news and information?

are we jinxed to reporting negative things about mikel?
it is childish when supposed to be matured men gossip and pedal news like market women. who among u wise men is better than the stupid mikel? for how long will u all live on news made by a boy far younger than u all?
all the same, the only people who enjoy such publicities are great men like mikel.

breaking news > mikel messed yesterday and it sounded puuuuuuuuuuuuu

mikel went to toilet yesterday and cleaned his ass with eva water

pls if any of u have any breaking news of mikel, feel free and post it here and do not forget to put the news in a blue colour.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News : Ekiti Election by chidichris(m): 8:10am On Apr 26, 2009
the problem here is neither inec nor the politicians rather it is the system. like obj rightly said, it is always a do or die affair.
like many in nairaland here will say, stand up against them. what we are witnessing in ekiti is the act of people standing up against pdp.
the situation in nigeria since 1999 has been either pdp or nobody.
