Is Niger Republic bigger than northeast and northwest Nigeria? YES.
Why is northern Nigeria getting 50 times the resources of Niger Republic even when Niger Republic is three times the size of northern Nigeria?

They want other countries to give their own money to run services in Nigeria.
meanwhile Nigerian money is kept in fat bank accounts abroad or used to pay 4,000 pounds every day for a parked idle plane in London. Which could be flown and parked in Abuja and ordered back to London when it's needed.
Politics › Re: Biafra: Post Independence Challenges by ChimaAdeoye: 8:33pm On Jun 29, 2017
dabeto:
When Biafra independence finally arrives, here are some of the challenges ndigbo will face
1. Igbos will still roam other parts of Nigeria trade, build and settle but not with much ease as now
2. They will still do little about their country's development since nothing stops them from developing it now
3 Crime rate will increase due to shock in mass resettlement challenges
4. Development will not be rapid or faster than any part of southern Nigeria thereby setting in frustration
5. Many will obtain dual citizenship to enable them to live and do business in Nigeria
6. Cross-border activities will increase which will lead to border control
7. Some will consider Biafra as safe haven due to poor Interpol collaboration
8. Port Harcourt and Asaba will witness massive influx of Igbos whether they are ceded to Biafra or not
9. Igbo will seek for more interethnic marriages if Nigerian laws will offer some immigration benefits
10. Mutual suspicion between Igbos and others will heighten which may lead to xenophobic attacks from time to time
11. Only a few foreigners especially Chinese will find it easy to do business in Biafra and drive in substandard products from there to Nigeria
Some of these challenges are common among emerging independent nations
Bad belle Abooki.
Always crying more than the bereaved.

With the level of hate and repression of Igbos under Fulani rule, they would since have expelled Igbo from Nigeria if they knew Biafra will punich Igbo more than Nigeria is already doing.

Well, about $21 billion dollars was sent to Nigeria last year through the official channels alone. Sanusi as CBN governor stopped listing location of collection so that it would hide the fact that most of the recipient states are in the south (Mainly in Southeast and southsouth). Igbo is hard working and will rise to the challenge of building a modern state which Africa will be proud of.
besides, they have abundant natural resources including oil to develop.

So shove your advise. please cry for your people and leave Biafrans alone.

False news

Very false news

Fear zoo press looking for international acknowledgement where every decent country in the world except perhaps a few politicians in the UK despises the zoo for its brutal treatment of its citizens, incredible corruption of it's ruling class and its refusal to create an egalitarian society for all.

Ask yourself: Why is the zoo paying the zoo press to carry fake news?

Answer: They know most of the world are lining up and giving Biafrans all the support they need to demonstrate and get their freedom.

Imagine you gave unemployed Nigerians 400k and chose 50 to give the money?
That is what is wasted on parking plane alone. Imagine the cost of the hospital bill per day.

Bother like you rightly asked? What is restructure? What does that even mean? Does it mean regionalism, true federalism or confederation don't mind those spineless dolts, personally if you ask me I will tell you that restructure is a metaphor for cowards, because the are scared of asking for sovereignty, regionalism, true federalism or confederation so the hide under the umbrella of restructure, I hope you read how the northern youths made a fool of them and their ancestors put together.

Well it does not matter what cowards want, Igbo's have made their stance clear and we are unshaken or unperturbed about it our resolve is Biafra and that is where we stand, cowards can still continue in their servitude to the north, as for the great Igbo race we have leaped to fly and the sky is only but a benchmark so my brother we are firm we are unshaken in our quest, in Biafra we stand.

Well I am still taking my time to observe this thread I am wondering why those bigotal mods have not deleted it, any time I post articles on Igbo interest it get deleted even when I am not breaking any rule one thing is clear on this forum they want to silence the Igbo voice but that will never be possible and they can never succeed because Jehova bu Eze. We must always resist these troll.
Most of southern Nigeria want regionalism now at the barest minimum. The Fulani as usual will attempt to block it. But, eventually, they will beg southerners to take restructuring, but nobody will be interested in anything called half measures.

APC have credible leaders across the six regions that can engage the citizenry effectively. The problem is the unwillingness of northern cabals in the presidency to subscribe to restructuring. The core Hausa-Fulani north are generally apprehensive of any structural adjustment that may see them lose their current political advantage. They also see the entire restructuring campaign as a ploy to derail the Buhari/Northern government and Ipobs hate and divisive agitation is also not helping.

The campaigners of restructuring or we secede need to change tactics. They should sell restructuring as a medium that can lead to inclusive national development and not one that is aimed at cutting the influence of a particular region.

We have passed the stage of platitudes and lies to make ourselves feel good.

How many years has Nigeria continued this way? Stop blaming anyone fighting for their rights. IPOB want to leave Nigeria and i support them. Politics › Re: Restructuring Nigeria: Too Much Of Everything - Dare Babarinsa by ChimaAdeoye: 5:18pm On Jun 28, 2017
seunmsg:
It is good that many of the old guards who once held courts at the sanctum of power are joining the call for the restructuring of our great country. The latest convert is General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, our former military ruler who has been seeking traction within the country’s democratic milieu since 1999. Babangida knows Nigeria and he has been at the receiving end of the occasional inclement temper of our country. It is good he is backing the call for a debate on our country’s future. Chief Tola Adeniyi, veteran journalist and former Managing Director of the old Daily Times even prescribed that the county should devolved into a federation of fewer regions.

One thing is clear: Nigerians do not want a unitary government. Yet, the current Constitution, though federal in name, is actually unitary in operation. During the First Republic when Nigeria was a proper federation, every state had its own Constitution, its own coat of arms and its own judiciary. It was because of this that the Western Region established its Court of Appeal years before the Federal Government followed suit. In the same instance, the West puts its minimum wage at five shillings while that of the Federal was three shillings. The West also had its Agent-General in London (because of the high population of its citizens in the United Kingdom), while Nigeria had its High Commissioner.

Today almost everybody agrees that there is a need for restructuring. So why are we not having it? Despite the apparent consensus, it is clear that most politicians are only paying lip service to it. If they want it, it would be done. But the call has been governed more by hypocrisy and self-service than for genuine concern about the future of the country. In truth, restructuring makes both political and economic sense. It is not probable that this Federation, with its dwindling resources would continue to sustain a federation of 36 states and 774 local governments. In truth, this federation has too many governors, too many ministers, too many commissioners and too many local government chairmen. We need to know that too much of everything is bad. Though this arrangement provides high-profile jobs for politicians and their fellow travellers, it is a big and unsustainable burden on the treasury.

Before 1950, Nigeria was virtually governed as two countries. The Northern Protectorate was ruled directly by the colonial Governor-General while Lagos Colony and Southern Protectorate was government by the Governor-General and his Executive Council. There was also the Legislative Council into which four Nigerians were elected; one from Calabar and three from Lagos. At the Ibadan Conference of 1950, our leaders agreed that the country should remain together as one and that we should be a Federation. Our leaders rejected the call for unitary government. Both Obafemi Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello participated in the Ibadan Conference.
The 1958 Constitutional Conference led to issues that have bedeviled Nigeria till today. At that time, Nigeria was already a federation of three unequal regions. Chief Obafemi Awolowo of the Action Group wanted the country split into more manageable regions to take care of the fears of the minority ethnic groups. He wanted four more regions: two in the North, one from the West and one from the East. He also wanted the Yoruba of the North, mainly in Ilorin-Kabba Province, to be merged with the West. He wanted the Lagos Colony to also be merged with the West. He lost on all fronts. At the last Constitutional Conference in 1959, the Willink Commission was set up to look for ways to allay the fears of the minorities. The call for additional regions by the AG was rejected.

The aftermath of the 1958 conference was the first time some of the leaders of the AG felt they should push for the independence of the Western Region as a separate country. Some of the leaders were not happy that the National Council of Nigerian Citizens, NCNC, led by the great Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, had teamed up with the Northern Peoples Congress, NPC, of Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, to deprive the West of both Lagos and Ilorin-Kabba Province. At that time, most Lagosians were in support of the NCNC and the Lagos branch of the party was dominated by the likes of Modupe Johnson and H.O. Davies. At a point during the debate, Chief Josiah Olawoyin, who was the leader of the Yoruba of the North, burst into tears, fearing that his people would be left in the lurch. In the end, the meeting resolved that the West would remain part of Nigeria. They also agreed that the problem of Ilorin-Kabba Province would be solved in future in a democratic manner.

Today the problem has become more complicated. The Yoruba of the North, who were the largest minority group in the old Northern Region, have now being split into the two states of Kogi and Kwara. In Kwara, they constitute the majority with the Ilorin playing the unending dominant role. In Kogi, the Okun Yoruba are the permanent minority. They seem as distant from the main Yoruba of the South-West like the Yoruba of Benin Republic where cities like Ketu, Ajase and Pobe are flourishing in splendid isolation from the Yoruba heartland.

Despite the rhetoric of politicians, they have always found unitarism irresistibly attractive. First Prime-Minister Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa could not resist the temptation to seize control of the government of the old Western Region in the wake of the fierce internal struggle within the opposition Action Group, AG from 1962. That was a big blow against federalism. A bigger blow was to come with the coup of January 1966 which brought Major-General J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi to power. Ironsi abolished the federal structure of the country, blaming it for the woes that afflicted the ill-fated First Republic.
Ironsi was killed in the July coup that brought Colonel Yakubu Gowon to power. The new men wanted a loose federation when they have been advised that the succession of the Northern Region would not be in their interest. Gowon created 12 states. Ojukwu wanted the former Eastern Region to become the independent Republic of Biafra. Three years later and with more than one million people dead, Ojukwu fled into exile after Biafra collapsed. Gowon maintained a testy federalism until he was toppled in 1975 when the war commanders, led by General Murtala Muhammed, took over.

The Muhammed coup was a triumph for those who wanted a unitary government or its euphemism, a strong central government. Under Muhammed and his successor, General Olusegun Obasanjo, strong symbols of old regionalism were either abolished or taken over by the Federal Government. All the regional radio and television stations were taken over by the Federal Government. The three big regional universities at Ile-Ife, Zaria and Nsukka, were seized by the Federal Government. By the time Babangida seized power in 1985, the Federal Government had become a Leviathan, controlling everything but basically uncontrollable.

It was this limitless power that allowed Babangida to void the victory of Chief Moshood Abiola at the June 12, 1993 presidential elections. That annulment was unprecedented in Nigerian history and its aftermath and consequences are still with us. Later that year, it was agreed that Abiola may forgo his mandate provided the military allow the restructuring of Nigeria. General Sani Abacha, who seized power from the successor of Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan, promised a Constitutional Conference with full powers with all the members elected through a free and fair election based on universal adult suffrage. He later reneged on his solemn promise.

Abacha had his conference but the Yoruba leadership did not participate. Five regimes later, Nigerians are still talking about the need for constitutional reforms. Both Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan made attempts to reform the Constitution, but there was no indication that they favour regionalism. Most of the old campaigners for regionalism and constitutional reforms are now in government. It is time they remember their old rhetoric and take action to kick-start the process. If not, their inaction would set the agenda for the next general elections or even fuel immediate centrifugal assumptions and precipitate action.

https://m.guardian.ng/opinion/too-much-of-everything/
APC has no credible national leaders that can genuinely engage people outside their tribes. The tribal bigots in APC are using delay tactics to stop Nigeria from restructuring and save us all from the impending doom.

With the delay tactics in adopting the 2014 CONFAB report, soon restructuring will not even save Nigeria.

We should all start getting ready.
Politics › Re: 6 Reasons Why The North Is Against Restructuring by ChimaAdeoye: 5:10pm On Jun 28, 2017
mekaboy:
Every region in Nigeria today is calling for restructuring except the North, there are reasons why the North is against, restructuring of this country. I will list them below .

1 REDUCTION OF POWER AT THE CENTER

When Nigeria is restructured, States will no longer look up to federal for survival, but federal to states. The resources spent to maintain the current senate, house of reps at the federal level will be channeled to infrastructure in States. The center will not be as powerful as it is today, because they have little interference over states. The federal and state operate in parallel lines and not the current hierarchy of federal above state. So even if the North is majority at the center, their decisions have little or no impact on states and regions.

2,NO MORE FREE MONEY

The situation where you create more local governments because you have land to increase federal allocation will be a thing of the past. A region that contributes very little to the federal account, will create more local governments than regions that contribute more, to receive more allocation .In a restructured Nigeria, no matter the number of local government areas you create, you will generate the money to maintain them from your region .

3, REDUCED CONTROL OF SECURITY AGENCIES

Like what we see today, where Kastina as a state had more recruits in DSS than the entire SE states. Most of the security agencies in Nigeria are headed by the North and none from the SE. We see how swift the DSS is to arrest Southerners over inciting statements, however, a group in the North has asked Nigerians Citizens to leave a part of Nigeria in 3 months , yet no single arrest. We see how Fulani herdsmen more freely and kill with no action from the security agencies . In a restructured Nigeria, states and regions will have their own security, who will be supervised by the federal agencies to ensure that they operate within the laws of the land and state. So If you have more police from the North, they will secure the North and the North will generate funds to pay them, while the south does the same.

4, LACK OF EDUCATION

The northern elites, intentionally ensure that they have the highest rate of uneducated youths, to brainwash and unleash them on other Nigerians for political gain. The current Nigerian structure, this works to their advantage . They can use their uneducated youths to attack other Nigerians and claim ignorant, just like they did after Buhari lost the elections . In a restructured Nigeria, they say the youths are the future, so if they have not educated their youths, they already see a picture of what the future of the north will look like.

5, POWER WILL RETURN TO THE LOCALS.

Since there is no more free oil money, the elite will have to depend on the locals, who will till the ground to farm and mine resources for their survival . In a restructured Nigeria, Every region and state, will use what they have to get what they want.

6, RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM

While the north is predominantly Muslim and we believe their religion is peaceful, However it's easy to radicalize their youths through the same religion to become destructive . It's not a problem to the north today that their youths can bomb and kill in the name of religion, after all at the end of the day, funds generated from the peaceful south, will be used to rebuild the North. Some people from the North will even, make money from the rebuilding process.

But in a restructured Nigeria, If they allow their youths to bomb and destroy their region, they will have to generate the funds to rebuild their region from their region . While other regions are developing and working with each other, theirs will be in flames by religious extremists, who will not associate with other based on religious differences .
These are some of the main reasons the North is against restructuring . They want the politics of Numbers. Since one can marry many wives are have as many children, its assumed they have the numbers. With this politics of Numbers, they will decide based on majority to control the resources of the south.

Do you know how much it has cost and is costing Nigeria to fight terrorism in the North ? If these funds where channeled to infrastructure and SME's We would have had more employed youths in Nigeria today.
How long shall we continue the slave master relationship ? When they like, they say one Nigeria, when they like the call Nigerians Guests in Nigeria .

Like the Afenifere and Ohaneze and other groups in Nigeria are crying for restructuring, the north has refused to adjust. How long can we continue this way ?

Goodluck Jonathan saw this slave master relationship, and called for a national conference. After the report, the North has taken over and discarded the report and wants Nigeria to continue this way .

If the North feels they have the numbers, let them use it for their development and not oppression of other regions.
The entire southern Nigeria and other regions that believe in restructuring should ensure that no election is held in their region in 2019. Let's see how the north will produce the president and continue the slave master relationship .Nigeria existed without oil, so every region can survive with or without oil .
All these reasons above are just to take advantage of other people without taking steps to make sure they feel any sense of belonging in the Nigeria project.

That is why it's such a sorry place.

The Leader of the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Shettima Yerima has said he would submit himself for questioning if security agencies declare him wanted.

Yerima is chief speaker of the group, who issued a notice to the Igbos to quit the 19 northern states.

He has now denied reports that he is on the run and insists he has nothing to fear.

In an interview with Punch, Yerima said, “I did not go into hiding and will never go into hiding. We need to put the record straight.

“For now, nobody is looking for me and I am ready to submit myself if I am called. I am not a joker. Nobody is looking for me and I am not hiding anywhere from anybody. I am in my village, I am a Nigerian. If anybody looks for me, I will submit myself. I am not above the law. I am not on the run.”

He once again insisted that the Igbos should leave Nigeria.

“Why should I go into hiding? I have a name, I have a face. I am not faceless.

“I am not hiding anywhere. Why should I hide? Where did I go wrong? Somebody wants to go and I said, ‘go, you’re free to go’. What is wrong about it?

“You cannot be in our country and begin to clamour for another country. Go to your place and declare your own country, not in my zone. It is a simple language. I have not committed any offence,” Yerima added.

IPOB has expressed it's grievances with GRACE.
This government is filled with ethnic bigots that imagine they can stampede Igbos out of this country. Like those who tried in the past, they will fail, but this time, there will be no united Nigeria for everyone to go back and start playing their ethnic cards again.

IPOB has never burned any northerner's motorcycle or killed anyone despite being shot and murdered by northern troops.
