Tomorrow any team can win. But when it comes to this question you need to be objective. Look at it both ways.

Modified
If Nigeria were in their shoes. Having lost the first game by a slim margin, in front of our fans and have had a fairytale run so far with revenge now in our minds. Will we really be under pressure?
Yes, fear of not losing the the second time in less than 4 weeks in front of home crowd.

Sorry to say but this Ahmed Musa has no shame. Shamelessness mixed with selfishness and greed.

It is already clear that he is as useful to the team as the "ueue" in "Queue" yet he insists on taking up a team slot and collecting bonuses and allowances for doing nothing. The classic Third-world leaders' Sit-tight mentality. Tufiakwa.

If his motivational speech is so important to the team, what stops him from paying visits to the team camp and talking with the players from time to time or sending his advice via zoom calls or WhatsApp voice notes? Must he take up a team slot?

If na so Kanu and co take do, would he (Musa) have gotten a chance to play for the SE in the first place?

Nonsense and legend.
Much ado about nothing.

In a 25 man team for a tourney, how many end up playing? May be 19 or 20. At least 5 will never play. You think teams are formed on the pitch only?
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Ivory Coast AFCON 2023 Finals (1 - 2) On 11th February 2024 by chinchum(m): 9:23pm On Feb 09, 2024
I have a premonition the match will be one way with a wide margin and it could go both ways.

What is the fitness status of Osimhen, Zaidu, Nwabali e.t.c ?

This is the time the SE should give their 101%, it is the last game of the tourney. I really hope Ekong can speak and galvanise the team mentally. The celebration by the SE after the Semis and the media noise seems excessive in my opinion, i guess it was because we won against SA.

Team chemistry missing today with SE so far.

I hope all those heavy with criticism on Zaidu can see how far with Osayi. Osimhen seems tired and may be truly not match fit judging by his work rate in the first half. Lookman needs to have more ball on his legs at the final third

some people like fantasy a lot. They fantasise about all sort of needless experiments. How can anyone even suggest dropping Osimhen on the bench for any other bench SE striker at AFCON.?

1 goal and 2 assist at this AFCON.

I am one of the biggest critique of Peseiro, but the moment I noticed he has introduced an ultra defensive tactics that ensure we don't concede unneccasry goal at this tourney while still creating goal chances, I gave him my support.

It's not their fault that they live in a place where the 10 dollars you send can get them a luxury it can't afford you over there. If you look at it, you still spend the bulk of your money more than them because you send them chingum money that can't take you a week but spend thousands of what you send to them here for yourself. So how are they enjoying more than you?
Person go just dey begin calculate the small 100 dollars ( wey be like 100 naira to am) wey him dey send say e too much. Small prayers wey you for receive for sending a meager 100 dollars, you now lose it because of over calculations.

It's this wicked mentality that is making many of you to be stingy. It's very bad. If they have the opportunity to be there like you, I'm sure they won't ask you for anything.

Keep your money. Those in naija go still shine and fresh pass una because we eat real natural organic food and get natural Vit D year round.
You guys wait. It's only a matter of time, we will soon have good govt and nobody will send you and your lonely lives abroad anymore.

Very stingy people.
Thinking 100 dollars is like 100 naira is the stupid ridiculous thinking some Nigerians with entitled mentality from their family in Diaspora have.

90% of Nigerian diaspora in top western countries do not earn $5,000 /month after tax. That amount is like 80,000usd per annum before tax.

Is $5,000 like 5000 naira in your warped thinking?

Some of you will even start pressing calculator and converting to Naira like the individual will pay most of their bills with Naira.

What he said is still valid. We don't often offer aerial threats against the opponent in a long while. Now we have a striker that is actually good with his head.
By the way, Mutiu Adepoju left the national team in 2006 I think. 2006 to this year is 18 years o.
There was Victor Agali as well. What he wrote made it appear he started watching Super Eagles games less than 10 years ago. He may have been a Gen Z though, so he is excused.

he also "dropped the ball" when we conceded against Equatorial Guinea.

I believe Iwobi's commitment is less than 100%. He fails to mark or commit his legs when it matters. He is about the only starting 11in SE that has failed to get the memo of a defensive tactical discipline

Any team playing against super Eagles have to optimise their chances with set pieces. Angola's biggest chance and first shot on goal early in the first half was from a Corner kick. Nwabali came up with his biggest save of his tourney to deny Angola taking the lead.

Agboriotejoye:
You need five defenders to execute it. Though I agree the forwards must be fast also. But I don't agree that there are some special kinds of players who alone can undertake a five man defence.

I'm happy you agree Nigeria's focus has never been defensive solidity but rather attacking fluency.

The question now is if this is a paradigm shift in Nigerian football. I'm sure you'll agree to the contrary
the left &right back need to be on top of their game and track back as quickly as possible. They must be fast enough and have the right stamina and as a defender have goal scoring abilities.

The pattern for playing tourneys with an ultra defensive pattern while still dangerous at the final third more often get the result.

If Super Eagles take their chances at the final third more and bury clear chances, games will be won and results will be obtained. Nigeria is still creating clear cut chances even with the defensive style.

Nigeria had about 3 clear chances against Cameroon that they fail to score, at least one of that should have been scored. They were missed by Aina, Iwobi and Moses

Nigeria had 4 clear chances against equatorial guinea as well (1 missed by Zaidu, 3 by Osimhen). If Osimhen clicks with his finishing coupled with his assured work rate and the wingers especially get better with their cross deliveries especially Moses, we will score more goals.

I am discounting half chances we had.

Agboriotejoye:
It is still not a tactics to wax lyrical about. It does not really take a tactical genius to put five players at the back and rely on catching your opoonents napping
you need the right kind of players and team mentality to execute it. it is not for everyone. It is hard to see a Nigerian team solid defensively.

We don't have a very fluid style of playing because of the tactics and we will usually tend to have less ball possession with the pattern of play. In a tournament, any type of win will be okay as long as we take our chances when it matters.

The Falcons played a similar style at the last women world Cup and did not lose any match within regulation time after 4 games against better ranked and experienced teams

Agboriotejoye:
Packing 5 players at the back is not exactly tactics to be proud of
it is not bad in a tournament. It may not exactly work in a round robin world Cup qualifiers where points and goal matters especially at home games. The style ensure we hardly concede goals, but it may impact chances of scoring goals as well.

At the moment, the defensive style we are playing means our opponent need to maximise deadballs via free kicks, cornerkicks and penalty. Outside those three deadballs situations and maybe very clear defensive giveaway error to opponent near box 18 it will be hard to break the defence and score.

Nigeria will play one of Senegal/Cameroon /Guinea in the second round. We have to up the quality of our game.

Teams that start a tourney struggling many times end up winning the final of a tournament.

Senegal scored only one goal in all 3 group stage games at the last nations Cup. The only goal came through a last minute penalty against Siera Leone.

I am not exactly impressed with any news of Dangote refinery that is not talking of delivering refined products to Nigerians.

The refinery is a 650,000 barrels/day production capacity, if it starts production at say 300,000 barrels/day , it will take less than 20 days to exhaust 5 million barrels.

All these low IQ individuals commenting on what they know nothing about.
If you can't separate your sentiments and emotion from viewing issues, it speaks a lot about your level of intelligence.

Because Femi Falana did not declare Abuja as a special state where residents are worth in value of votes more than others, his wife does not deserve a SAN title.
