hinwazaka: Get your facts right, COWARD, the funding was partly PDP, as they were the central government at the time . The FG contributed about 50%. And also, if you must know, there is a light rail also being developed in ABUJA. This was done by the PDP. What about RIVERS, before that dog called Amaechi joined the APC, he was already developing a monorail. By the way quit the sympathetic, fake neutral man approach. You are APC all the way. Or is it that you can't shake off your father's cowardly genes in you. Be a MAN for once in your life, COWARD. Before huffing and puffing!, can you state any reasonable document where it was stated FG contributed about 50% to Lagos blue light rail project. Facts are sacred, and it seems you love facts. I am certain you pulled that out from your asss. |

989900: You are right, though the cost will always be inflated as per the 'sad norm' with previous administrations (these are some of the things we expect the new admin to reduce), but we can argue 'compensations' too and 'yada yada yada' . . .
However, the sad part in my opinion is, the time frame! Why does everything have to cost more, and take longer to deliver in Nigeria?! Well, it could also take more time to build those overheads, and i recalled the FG in early 2014 refused to assent to the state getting a tranche of the loan, these could also be argued for the delay. There would be no excuse if at the end of this current administration in 2019, the project is not delivered. |

GenOrumov: Ambode needs to seriously wake up!
It seems Fashola's shoes are too big for him to occupy with the current look of things. I agree it may be the cash crunch but he needs to not lower the bar Fashola raised. The most annoying is the uselessness (permit me to use that word) of Lastma. I used up to an hour just to make a U-turn at Mile 12 this evening and guess what, it was those silly Danfo drivers and do you know the most astonishing thing, Lastma officials were just a few metres from where these buses were waiting and didn't do anything to correct them.
I have a serious headache now and I blame Ambode. True talk! Lastma was lampooned endlessly by most Lagosians under Fashola, but sensible people know they were doing a yeomans job then, and somehow their relative high handedness instilled fear in to motorists and ironically translated to improved behaviour. For now, only the lastma model under BRF will work, Nigerians are typically stiffminded and might not do the right things except being metted with stiff punishment for disobeying laws and constituted authorities. As long as systems that can easily track erring drivers details that can even afford them to be traced to their homes is not available, this Ambode classroom theoretical model will fail. I like practical leaders, Fashola was one. It might be too early to judge Ambode , but it seems he started on a wrong footing, time will tell. |

SB2020: It not just the time taken but the humongous difference is cost....SMH As to the cost, it is somewhat puzzling, but i suspect the variance could be coming from the fact that much of lagos light rail will run overhead, but i could be wrong if addisababa lightrail too is overhead. |

Reference: Nigerians are so ignorant. They just don't know how things work. Just sentiments.
Listen. True democracy is the only guarantee of sustainable performance. It is not about who wins elections but about the process by which he or she got there. Ambode was selected and so he is accountable only to the selectors. If he tries to satisfy the electorate he will end up like Fashola.
I said it a couple of years ago Houphet Boigny was Premier of Ivory Coast for decades and under him the Ivorians enjoyed unprecedented boom, the number two economy in west africa but the laws of democracy caught up after Boigny died and today Ivory Coast is no better than Liberia.
If Lagos fails to instal democratically elected governance time and again it is heading for calamity. That is unavoidable. The kind of turbulence that will rock the state post Tinubu will shock many. These are the issues Nigeria has surmounted by a peaceful transition, the reason we say Jonathan is the best so far, that is because the system was allowed to work and popular will was respected.
People constitute the wealth of nations and you cannot have individuals no matter how influencial and powerful deciding and setting the standards of their lives and living. Very soon contempt is bound to emerge and unfortunately Lagos has very weak democratic structures to fall back on. There is trouble ahead. The Ekiti we all laugh at is miles ahead of Lagos and the Osun we are amazed at is the vital sign of what is to come.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely, eternal power outside God can only be satanic. Ambo was elected by popular votes of Lagosians. Quit writing trash. In 4 months, it might seem he has a slow start, but i think the real issue is that expectations from electorates have soared, he will be compared with his immediate predecessor, but to be objective, can any one detail what fashola had achieved from june 2007- sept 2007? |

raayah: its very difficult for men to say that there were wrong. Is it right for a man to beat up his woman it is wrong for a man to beat up a woman, but men are no heavenly angels, who knows he might shamefully snapped, and use his own strength. Women have greater verbal strength than men, and men have greater physical strength than women, at least on the average. You talk about men not attacking agberos, but you forgot the ageros does not live under his roof, or they live together, if they do, then physical brawl will be common place. If a lady is sensible enough, she should have spotted a potential physically abusive man,and not tie the knot with him, but if she misses out of that for one reason or the other, she must be able to manage the situation to avoid the physical brawls with her man. |

Romance › Re: How Can I Know About His Sexual Status by chinchum(m): 8:04pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
nlfan: Dear NLers
I am in a no sex relationship with this amazing young man, he is cool and has everything I wanted in a man.
Apart from him, have always been in a no sex relationship, the last man I dated, who died in the ill fated Dana Air crash was also in a no sex relationship with me but he was more vibrant emotionally, like he will hug me tight, hold me and look into my eyes, roll his hands over me and kisses me too and sometimes I notice he will be so turn on, just that we have decided we want to wait and sometimes he will say baby i'm so turn on but I can handle it.
Now the issue I have with this one I am dating now is, he will not do any of that, all he does is look at me passionately, and if he must touch me, he will just hold my hands and play with my fingers, he can stare at me the whole day and gist with me, but I have never seen him at the point where he was turn on, whether in his face or actions, he is just there.
I know he is God fearing and can afford not to be turn on, but I am so scared, have slept in his house before, we were just like blood siblings, cook together eat and off he went to his room, no emotions or maybe a kiss to say good night and stuff, it was so neutral I feared he might not like sex or romance at all or maybe he is not all right.
Sometimes I want to bring up gist like, how far did you go with your ex, what is the most naughty thing you have done in a relationship or for love, and he will go like... I came back from work, I didn't have a car then, so I trek all the way to her house to cook for her.
And I ask, what's your most memorable sex experience, and he replied baby good night, this is not you so don't bring up the fake self, you've been talking too much to your girl friends lately I guess.
How do I get to know all these about him, have starved myself enough of sex to please God, and to be a good girl my mother asked me to be and cannot "CANNOT" and will not be able to stand a slow or bad sex experiences in marriage, the thought of this is driving me crazy I think i understand what the problem is. Even if there wont be a set fire in your relationship now, you want occasional sparks to warm u slightly and more importantly reassure you there can be fire in mountain when you both agree to set it. you want to feel wanted sexually . isnt it? One girl is falling in my arms currently ,because she has a similar problem you have with your current partner. Her partner is too uptight and wont even kiss or be romantically involved , though she also wants a no sex relationship. It took me time to realise what her problem was. Men need to loosen up and realise that they cant afford to take extreme positions, what a lady says she wants sexually is not 100% what she wants. If i was ur man, i would make sexual advances on you, and will leave the 'NO' in your mouth, if the NO comes, i will respect it. @OP, express your concerns with your guy in a diplomatic way. |

That's probably why they met her body on the floor.
I see everyone throw stones at doctors already. Every death that happens in a hospital is always pinned down to a doctor's fault. Let's take a chill pill please.
This girl was ELECTROCUTED!! No doctor will watch anyone die without making attempts at resuscitation. Nigerians will die from a fatal road traffic accident and still blame the doctors for not resuscitating at the mortuary.
Besides, the record officer would probably have asked for the ID No sane individual should ask for ID in an emergency. Even if she was not a student of the school, all that must be done is to save a life. Some health workers gradually lose their humanity after a period without them noticing in their bid to satisfy right procedure. I am almost certain, it could not have been a right procedure to even ask for id in an emergency, most especially in a campus environment |

courtship is a tango of 2, both of them in such relationship must have a clear need and readiness for marriage, in such case, the courtship should be solidified legally in 12 months or thereabout. Well, it can also be devoid of sex, but u should talk objectively about sex. definitely know that s.ex is important to both involved. Is there any man that wants to end up with a wife so disgusting in bed? Are there women like that? Yes. Is there any man that wants to end up with a woman with stinking ....? Are there women like that? Yes. Is there any woman that wants to spend the rest of her life with a man that can't last more than 30 seconds in bed? Are there men like that? Yes, minute men exist. Is there any woman that wants to stay married to a man that can't even get an e.rection? Are there men like that? Yes. So, I personally believe in digging for facts before getting in so deep. How else can you find the facts out if courting is as terrible as portrayed in this writeup? All these fears in quote raised by SmartMugu are overrated, in my view all of these problems can start few months or years down the line in the marriage proper, after all the marathon gymnastics at courtship stage. |
