Firefire:. you guys are the hypocrites here, you assess ApC governors on a higher standard than their PDP counterparts, 6 states were listed in the article as distressed, was Enugu under chime APC?, was Kaduna under yero APC?, was Benue under suswam APC?, was plateau under jang Apc?. The only APC states governors listed aregbesola and okorocha can still be knocked slightly judging by some of their freebies policies like free school feeding, free learning tablet, free transportation, free education e.t.c Most of these free stunts called policies have repercussions when your income is low. For the PDP governors, can they justify why they are distressed? |
HungerBAD:gbajas case was more of negligence, and leaving a supposed duty for subordinate |
he would have won, if not for Sarakis victory |
jaybee3:Haba , when they say poor, it is a very relative word. His contemporaries are at least 20 times richer. A single house in Abuja could worth 1 billion naira. |
RevDesmondJuju:asset is the worth of what a man owns, what are you driving at? I felt Buhari would be worth more than that IMO. Abi u think they say he has 879 million naira in an account? |
Having 879 million asset does not mean one cant be broke ? A civil servant who owns just a 2 bedroom flat in Lagos and driving a jalopee car with not up to 100,000 in his account could be worth 20 million naira. it is not that he has 20 million in his account. |
xcolanto:So, your idea of selling to the west is to increase tariff in import. ![]() Why yu no gree go school sef ? Increase in import tariff tends to discourage importation and even encourage local production. |
mikolo80:Yes, the last matchete cut on a tree was not what fell it, it is a collection of several matchete cut. A dirty, angry, fed up peasant tunisian boy was the "last matchete cut on a tree" that made sit tight Arab leaders to lose their position and their lives sef in the Arab spring. When a leader stays too long in power, he kills whatever institutions in that country, and then becomes the institution, he is then worshipped as a god, he also sees himself as a god, people like you as followers in that country in your presumed "helpless state" accept ur fate and worship him instead.. |
gboss4sure:Your problem is deep ignorance. He didnt allow the west to rape his country, but his country is 100 times worse thereafter. Only a leader with no common sense does what he did in Zimbabwe. A child does not confront his fathers killers until he grows of age and sure he is ready to battle them. His approach was crude, collecting lands from white farmers and given it out to black inexperienced farmers that made food productivity dropped to an all time low, and hunger and inflation spread in the land. My uncle was in Harare as a journalist and international correspondent in the late 80s and early 90s, and i got first hand details. African leaders must be wise as a serpent and gentle as dove. |
cuteboy2:We wont know if that is just a rumour or not, even if it was the truth, Buhari came in to the country that morning after an exhausting G7 meeting attendance, if he came back very tired and wants to steal a sleep, he can barely be faulted, and there are rumours he asked the clerk to delay the inauguration. What you must realise is that with 49 senators from PDP, all a dissent APC senator needs to become SP was 5 APC votes with 49 pdp votes. Tinubu is not omnipotent. Buhari in trying not to appear as a dictator as he was roundly accused by PDP during campaigns felt he needed not to intervene in the process in throwing up the sp, but he failed to see the scenario i painted above early, maybe due to not having appointed political advisers, he saw that loophole too late in my opinion, and was out of the country for considerable part when the issue was very redeemable, and he rescinded his decision not to intervene. He could have failed in convincing the 7 APC senators from not backing Saraki, but his early intervention would most likely have steadied the ship. all he needed to do was to convince 3-4 more senators to not back Saraki. Bear in mind, Gbajabiamila lost in the HOR because Saraki won |
ellechrystal:so, every tyrant in a country must be left alone to be challenged by his country men? apartheid in SA should have had no challenge from the outside world, but by only SA people. what a reasoning ?? Even if u are ignorant, don't be mentally lazy to see the video clip to realise Zimbabweans are complaining. Sahara reporters have its own form of investigative journalism, and Adeola also had her own way of poking questions to african leaders, and mugabe is not the first african leader she would be asking questions from .What is rude sef in asking a man when is he going to step down? Governing a country since independence for 35,years and still holding on tenaciously at 91years is crude, and if a journalist ask when such leader is going to step down , it is justified. Pushing and shoving a lady journalist in her country aside by some body guard is so rude. People sometimes earn how they are treated, if an older man from no where starts touching u inappropriately in public ,, and you dish him a slap, no one deserves to call you rude.Adeola was not sacked, she only ended the programme voluntarily |
God bless you sis. Some traditions and cultures have turned some to ireedemable zombies. What respect does a tyrant mugabe deserve by the way? Na only mugabe get sense for 35 years and running to be Zimbabwe president? |
What is all these unnecessary ado over Tinubu sef ?? hian. The moment , APC national assembly members put up more than one candidate for the two key positions on the floor of the house/senate, there was nothing Tinubu could have done to stop one of the candidates winning with more of PDP votes and even seen as a win for PDP. Buhari meeting was only meant to see that just one consensus candidate was thrown open from APC to be voted for, who knows whether he could also have failed with that mission . |
That is not jimi agbaje, but the younger brother, who is the GTbank md/c.e.o |
I feel it is best he is expelled , or at betterstill it should wait till committee positions are shared. 49 pdp + 8 Apc forming majority is not good for the image of the party. |
I feel the APC senators intentionally avoided the upper chamber inauguration yesterday, as they could not have prevented Saraki from emerging Senate President. Left for me. The APC have 2 options. 1. Expel Saraki and accept that he is no more of APC. 2. Accept him and manage the situation , while compensation be arranged for those who lost out. I have a feeling , Saraki is now PDPs mole and he would return to PDP to contest as a presidential candidate in 2019. So, i think option 1 is the best. Expel him now. |
Saraki has done "afonja" using the enemy to fight his "household". he just showed he has afonja of ilorin blood flowing in his veins. Time will tell , the same enemy he is using today will be his albatross. |
The coach appears like a folk lacking in confidence, and i guess he underrates his team against the swedes, a draw is not a bad result, but we could have won, and i believe this team can beat USA, and the coach must not be timid, so he doesnt infect his team with low confidence and timidity against the americans. This Nigerian team is good, but it must inculcate greater technicalities in its game , like fast playing of dead balls in the opponents area, better utilisation of corner kicks, improved manmarking of corner kicks, when to increase and slow down the tempo of the game , the right sub at the right time (i dont see why all the first 11 should play for full 90 minutes) e.t.c |
That coach is a doofus !, at 2-2, all he needed to tell the girl was to reduce the game tempo, but no, he was celebrating as if we just scored the winning goal of a final penalty . All the time we will keep doing the playing hard in world cup games and still lose if we will refuse to learn cheap technicalities. |
These girls need to Slow down the games tempo NOW. |
We keep making the same errors in all world cups and expect a different result. High work rate will more reliably give us good results in african nations cup, but in world cup, it is more of technicality, dead ball optimisation, learning to slow down pace of the game to stay in control , play more counters ,....e.t,c |
Osun state and poorly governed does not really gel. I guess the op takes nairaland too seriously, i must confess SW states administrators are always placed on the spot light and hot list than their other counterparts in the media, Several states are owing salaries,Even Plateau state is owing more months than Osun state 7months. Why Aregbesola is typically assessed with a different standard is not fathomable yet? |
Oh, plueaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ![]() |
Gbaja has paid his dues and very smart. A bit of opposition is also needed if that is what you meant, Buhari also needs that to succeed. A man with an "always yes sir" wife will have problems along the line. |
Obviously, Some dundee somewhere in safe haven is indoctrinating some legions of fools and goading them to a potential slaughter house. |
Ymodulus:hush it, you dingbat. What is silly about the tradition? |
safarigirl:ok, i have confirmed it, the 3rd placed best 4 losers are only pitted against Group A, B, C, D winners. unfortunately Nigeria is in group E, we cant escape playing a group winner. |
Hungary, New zealand, Senegal, and Uruguay are the top 4 losers. each of these teams will play 4 of the 6 group leaders. A 3rd placed team faces a group leader. , also 4 of the 6 2nd placed team will face 2nd placed team of other groups. I dont think it is certain yet, Nigeria is playing Germany. |
Who knows if hungary qualified as 1 of the 4 best losers who placed 3rd. I think they should make it with 3points and +1 goal difference. If they qualify as best loser, hungary will play germany and not Nigeria. |
No wahala about that , one is a 8 day old Lagos state governor, the other is a 8 year old lagos state governor |
The scenario painted to your friend is too extreme and you know it. Can you date and settle down with a security man in Mushin if we assume you are a graduate?? There ia a 10% chance you will want to marry such man, although ...... ![]() |
Gbaja needs 175 to secure the seat, he has 154 on lock down, he needs 21 more, that 21 needed he can get from the 31 APC absentees or/and over 120 PDP members |
