Politics › Re: Do You Regret Voting APC? by chinchum(m): 9:54pm On Jun 25, 2015
No regrets whatsoever, if the opportunity to vote out PDP presents itself again dis night, i will gladly stay on a long 24 hours queque to vote APC.

Whatever shits happening in the NASS is primarily caused by a few APC renegades and a bloc collection of PDP members.

PDP NA members at the moment are simply driven by hatred and revenge at the moment than good judgement.

Had an APC senator turned to goat and go against his party directives to contest for a senate leadership position. PDP will welcome and gladly vote the goat with bloc votes.

50% of 100 days = 50 days.

but May 29 - date = 26 days. Do you have a "loose nut" on your brain?

I say no to initial gra gra. He is on a 4 year marathon race, not a sprint race.

For the first time, i agree with him on this, in actual fact, i think he stole my idea. I made this comment some months back with a different moniker

How can an annual programme that benefits 1,200 directly in a country of over 40 million unemployed youths be that celebrated ? It borders on insanity in my opinion.

The NYSC is a good avenue that the govt. can reform that scheme, corpers should be made to pick at least 2 skillsets in a large skill training pool and be trained for at least 6 months, the remaining 6 months be spent on the conventional place of primary assignment. the govt, does not necessarily have to pay salaries to corpers during this period, at the end of the training, each corper is given like a million naira or at worst 500,000 naira to launch them in to the new world. The massive effect will be seen in less than 5 years , as unemployment drops. But, this fraudulent govt prefers to claim to pay thrilions for a non existent kerosene subsidy.
500,000 *200,000 corpers annually = 100 billion naira annually That is a worthy sacrifice to make.

I will pick Aregberascal over fayose 100 times. If the nations problem persists, Ekiti will also begin to pile up salary payments default soon. The war on Aregbe is more politicised than the situation on ground.

mugun. To these idiots now, salary payment is the crescendo to identify a good governor.

After 4 years, all he will point out is that he paid out salaries from Abuja allocation, and the state stays dependent on fg allocation. What investor baiting tactics has he brought to bear in ekiti state? Zilch, Nada !

you were given a 208 weeks mandate that the count down started on may 29. u,ve not spent up to 3 weeks, make no error, nigerians want square peg in square hole, any wrong appointment takes time to discover and amend. In my opinion , the next 7 weeks for now, by then if you've not picked them to start work, I will be disappointed. All ministers must have key performance indicators.

Anybody mentioning population is merely been mischievous. Does the state governments feed the inhabitants? Does Ambode feed the people of Lagos? Rather more population is even a plus for the states as it guarantees more IGR's through taxes etc
Intelligence is not your strength. Population puts wear /tear on infrastructures (roads, schools, hospitals, markets e.t.c) waste management/disposal, increase traffic issues e.t.c, especially when the bulk of the population is not taxable. How many chukwudis in Lagos pay tax?

We would simply build ports in other states naa.Lagos should be grateful to the FG for siting it's main port there
Till then, but now port is sitting in Lagos waters, and bulk of VAT shared across states comes from Lagos. Lagos deserves 13% of each. Over 1 thrillion generated annually from Lagos ports.
Politics › Re: Federal Allocation-does The South-west Deserve This? by chinchum(m): 9:58pm On Jun 14, 2015

Buhari was elected on a 208 weeks mandate. so if he has spent 2,weeks , that is barely 1% of his mandate time , he has a job to do, and he will succeed at it. Some will only be huffing, puffing, wishing and crying that he fails , but fail he won't.
Politics › Re: Osun Backfires Spectarcularly Under Aregbesola - An Article by chinchum(m): 5:50pm On Jun 13, 2015
it is not a crime to be ambitious or visionary, but Aregbesola was overambitious on the legs of a dwindling FG allocation, a gamble that might have succeeded if oil price stayed higher and allocations stayed the same or increased. As he appeared succeeding, he was amassing deep resentment from the opposition, but if there is one thing I dislike from a governor, it is one who embraces status quo, and believes his major duty is to collect fg allocation and pay civil servant salaries. Aregbesola has over 3 years to redeem his image, and I hope he does . Some populist ideas might have to be shelved, till they can be funded with IGR. embarassed
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nestle!!!...why This????...sad!!! by chinchum(m): 4:24pm On Jun 13, 2015
RileyFreeman1:
I am sad and unhappy about how a specific Nestle recruitment campaign was handled by Nestle Nigeria. I feel even worse because research have shown that other people have experienced the same treatment. Some have experienced even worse.

I know there are Nestle employees here on Nairaland, so it will do me great joy if someone explains this situation and why Nestle does this.

I applied for an opening late last year with Nestle, luckily for me, I got invited for a Dragnet test which I gladly attended. Fortunately for me, I passed the Dragnet Test.
About a week after receiving a Dragnet success email, I received another invite from Nestle to attend a function based test which I did. Few weeks later, I received another email that I was successful at the Function test.

About 2 weeks later, I received an interview invite mail and call, I was happy at the speed and professionalism of the entire process because I knew no one working with Nestle and I was convinced that the entire process had been outstandingly meritocratic.
I attended the Nestle interview, very few people were present for the interview. I did my very best at the interview and as God will have it, about two weeks later I received a follow up email that I was successful at the interview.
I was very happy because Nestle is a company I have utmost respect for and building my career with such a company was a dream come through.

This is June the 12th, 2015, Its been about 5 months since I received the last interview success mail. I was concerned so I networked with some Nestle staff via LinkedIn.com. To my surprise, I was told some people did medicals and resumed about 3 months ago for the same opening. I was also made to believe that 95% of these people previously worked with Nestle as contract staff, now they have been made full time staff.

I initially felt bad but I also know about other interviewed candidates who received regret mails from Nestle after the interview where I received success mail.

It will be very much appreciated if someone from Nestle explains why this is happening.

Why have I been left in the dark by Nestle?

Why no follow up email has been sent since over 5 months?

What exactly is going on?

Do I still remain positive about being contacted by Nestle?

If possible, Nestle Nigeria HR should look into this because it seems like a very unfair treatment. A follow up correspondence to candidates who will work with you in the future will really ease a lot of tension. It also shows top class professionalism on your part as a company.
Eyah !, some years ago, Nestle placed me on voice mail after medicals as a trainee engineer.

I will implore you to keep searching for new jobs, my mistake then, I stopped job searching. I still have their medical invite with their letterhead sha grin grin grin grin grin. I will show my offsprings, how disapointments turn to blessings, but I must confess, as at then, it was the biggest disappointment I ever experienced. Your case might be different, but keep an open mind

My brother,

There is another angle to all this inability to pay workers, we need to ask how they utilized the Bonds and Loans collected for same projects?

"Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State on Saturday 22 June 2013 said that his administration had so far taken loans amounting to N30 billion to invest in the state`s economy.
The governor said this while addressing journalists and members of the public at a programme tagged: “Ogbeni till Daybreak” in Osogbo, the state capital".

http://theeagleonline.com.ng/osuns-debt-profile-hits-n30b/

"He insisted that the local debt of the state was presently over N400bn, adding that borrowing such amount of money that the state would not be able to repay in the next 30 years showed irresponsibility on the part of the present administration"

Whatever loans /bonds obtained must be serviced from the monthly allocation. innit? I am aware that osun state currently collects roughly half a billion naira monthly as allocation from FG and the least, I presume those loans are being serviced directly through withdrawal by FG monthly before disbursing the remainder to Osun state. Aregbesola no doubt deserves a hard knock, by assuming that the FG allocation which is highly dependent on oil price could not fall, as such trying to do much than his capacity.

Aregbesola failed to factor in the rainy day, and he really messed up. No doubt. But his intentions were right, but he gambled too much with the way he went about it. under him, some public +private owned industries have sprung up, like the RPG phone factory, garment factory, e.t.c, A state governor is not all about paying civil servant salaries monthly, you must strive to deepen IGR, or else you will stay in the rot.

If the DMO, a FG establishment states the amount owed by a state , bearing in mind Osun was then in the opposition to the centre, which sense is in believing a 400 billion naira proclamation by an unknown man who claims to be a right activist.

There is a limit to freebies, although everyone loves freebies, I don't encourage it for a state that is leaping.
Politics › Re: List Of States Owing Salaries Of 6 Months And Above? Why Single Out Osun State? by chinchum(m): 2:40pm On Jun 13, 2015
It is because the hypocrites are fighting an ethnic war. Osun state governor's allocation in the last 5 years he has been governor is not up to what Akwa ibom earns in 10 months, yet he has projects to show off it, although he overreached himself with too much freebies. it was not going to be sustainable, even Rochas free education is not sustainable. I still give it to the APC governors who can partially justify being broke

kibo:

I can relate to your point. He fought for freedom for his party, not for Nigeria. A politician fighting against political annihilation is not a freedom fighter. He is simply pursuing party and personal interest.

We cannot conclude that because one remained an oppostion, then he has principles, that will be gross exaggeration.

I am not trying to negate what you said, but let us choose our words carefully and not exaggerate

Come off your high horse bro, a politician fighting against political annihilation and ensuring there is a Vibrant alternative platform is a freedom fighter in my opinion. In all African politics, attempts are made to annihilate the opposition to create a Pseudo one party state, and the voice of the people is stifled, since there is no "bark and bite"alternative platform that people can use to punish non performance.

Peter Obi , APGA ran back to PDP that stole his mandate, Segun Mimiko , a face of Labour party ran back to PDP that stole his mandate. Abubakar Atiku, AC has been having back and forth to PDP, something is wrong with his principles. Orji uzor Kalu, PPA, ran back to PDP e.t.c

If Tinubu had moved to PDP,he would have been hailed, and deployed as a field marshall.

No one has his political sagacity, hence why he always will remain as the focus of attack by PDP. To bring a house down you focus on attacking the pillars.

This Abiola thing is getting out of hand. Stop the overhype of his achievements and lets face it that it was his own people that betrayed and sold him out.His wife was killed by the gambaris yet they rallied around them

The real hero of our land are;

1. The millions of poor people who endure the wickedness of our elites and still allow Nigeria be.

2. GEJ for letting democracy take root despite the hatred vested on him by some Yorubas and Hausas.

GEJ named Unilag after Abiola and the same people due to their hatred for GEJ stopped it.

Stop the noise. Abiola was a politician and like all other politicians was interested in more power even though he might have had the people at heart but he is not my democratic hero.
While messrs Ojukwu ran away from his Biafra cause, Abiola refused to be released from prison to forfeit the mandate given to him by Nigerians. The yorubas reaped from that relentless fight of Abiola when democracy was restored in 1999.

Abiola is a democratic hero. ! A hero should not be the man who ran away fighting a cause like mr ojukwu

Not for profit does not mean, services are free of charge, it only means cost of services will be meant to only cover the running cost of the health institution.
