PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Treasury ‘virtually Empty’ Says Buhari. by Chinom(m): 8:19pm On Jun 22, 2015
No new government ever says that excess fund was left in the treasury. Enough of these complaints. PMB should get down to work, pronto.

When will the ministers be appointed ?.

Buhari is the ONLY hope the country has in this APC shyte party. The others are wolves in sheep clothing. I urge the president to just shut his ears to all these bastard party members and focus single-mindedly on rescuing the nation.
We need regular electricity asap. He should kill corruption like he promised. It's PMB we know, not 'APshit'.

Atiku is a chameleon. A very slippery fellow. He's already working towards 2019.

The Clerk must be deployed to another office/position. He is a PDP(David Mark) hand picked staff of the National Assembly
He is a civil servant not appointed by either the senate president or the senate. He will be there until he retires.

Where did he say it?

If his mother is Yoruba, then he's still Yoruba. In my culture, the child belongs to both Man and woman.

But please quote him. Where/When did he deny his root?
The man said his roots are Fulani. Who are you to dispute that. Bear in mind that he was selected to vie for the senate presidency by virtue of his North Central origins. As a bona fide Yoruba man, he would have been disqualified from contesting.
Saraki see himself as a Fulani man from North Central. However, it is possible that he took advantage of that in order to be considered. We cannot have a Yoruba VP and Senate president.

PDP controls the senate.

Tinubu should keep using osibanjo as his house boy.
That guy is going to be the most redundant and 'useless' VP in the history of Nigeria. Tinubu was used big time.
PoliticsRe: Senate President Bukola Saraki Updates His Twitter Account by Chinom(m): 4:40pm On Jun 09, 2015
Rug pulled under Tinubu's feet. President Buhari could care less. Did Ekweremadu retain the deputy's post ?. Somebody should update us on that.

NB: I've just seen the update. Did not scroll down. PDP is not totally dead after all. Let's wait and see how this plays out.
PoliticsRe: Yakubu Dogara Is Speaker Of 8th House Of Representatives by Chinom(m): 4:37pm On Jun 09, 2015
PDP still holds the ace. Tinubu's influence is fast disappearing. Democracy is sweetoooo. These are very interesting days.

Can Buhari now move on to solving our numerous problems !... No time for politicking.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Moves To Slash Own Salary, Allowance. by Chinom(m): 8:52am On Jun 06, 2015
CFCfan:
Its a commendable initiative from Buhari. However, only the RMAFC has the statutory authority to fix the emoluments of public officials.
You just have to bring up this RMAFC crap each time this topic comes up. Are you aware that the president (Buhari) appoints the chairman of RMAFC, then sends him to the senate for approval. The commission itself is under the ministry of finance. Hence PMB can exercise a huge influence on the activities of the RMAFC.

Like the RMAFC, the CBN and even INEC are all independent bodies. But the the president and the finance ministry has a huge input in what the CBN does. As for INEC, I refer you to Maurice Iwu's case. So the president can wield the big stick if the will is there. What we need, and what we expect Buhari to be, is a STRONG president.

I believe he is right. D election was a contest btw 2 sides. D rules were clear, winner takes all. just like in a football match, d side with d highest score wins. Conceding defeat isn't a made in heaven act, its just rare in africa. Even were there's initial gragra, ultimately defeat is conceded. GEJ did d right thing. Does that make him great or a legend? I don't think so. If buhari defeats BH, does that make him great, no. He is just doing his job. If he makes d economy work, he is just doing his job. Nothing special
Everybody who has ever won the Nobel prize was JUST doing his or her job. Does that make it clear to you ?. I think you are smart enough to understand unlike the other " riffraff ".

PoliticsRe: Buhari Moves To Slash Own Salary, Allowance. by Chinom(m): 8:15am On Jun 06, 2015
Buhari's salary is not our problem. The problem is the salaries and allowances of members of the NASS. Their wages and the fuel subsidy money are the biggest financial drain we suffer as a nation.

Plug it which ever way you can.

He is qualified to be nominated. If the Nobel peace award was given to Mandela and De Klerk for the same reason, then Goodluck Jonathan should be considered.

It is a prize for PEACE, not for economic achievement.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian VP Yemi Osinbajo Barred From First Buhari's National Security Briefing by Chinom(m): 6:21am On Jun 06, 2015
@Codedeben, Osinbajo was BARRED. He was prohibited from attending the meeting. Nothing to do with being disposed or indisposed. He was simply not allowed to attend. They did not consider him worthy. Is it clear to you now ?. Yorubas have made a complete fool of themselves. Tinubu thought he was being smart, but Buhari and the Northern tigers are actually the smart ones.
Tinubu was used. He was nothing but their ATM.

Osinbajo will be given only worthless functions to perform as well serve tea and coffie.

Most equality inclined women only think of benefits. How will they feel if their husband begs dem to step down from the car in de rain to change the tyre or push de car or even search for a mechanic in a strange town. Of course I expect them to jump up to de job because of equality baa?. No more "but u are de man naaaw" abi?
You still see dem lusting for rich powerful men who will take care of them because "dats how a man should be". Is it not sexist? They still won't toast a guy because "we ladies can't emotionally handle rejection like men" pffffffhh!
Most of the girls talking about men cooking cannot service a generator or a car or chop wood or handle a hammer or fix burnt wires or even a blown fuse. These are some things men do just because they are MEN. Women can do them but mostly choose not to because they are WOMEN and have their own duties. It is division of labour through gender difference not inequality.
Exactly. Most feminists are very selfish and self-absorbed women. That's why many are without children.
PoliticsRe: Onyema Responds To Buhari's Critics Over Assets Declaration Not Made Public by Chinom(m): 1:54pm On May 31, 2015
Yes, we know what the procedure is, but Buhari himself had already started a public ( OPEN ) declaration when he told us that he has about 150 cows and one small house in the village. A picture of his house in Daura was even released online. Was he doing all that just to get our votes ?.

Transparency requires that he gives us a full public and open disclosure irrespective of what he tells the CCB. He started it during his campaign, he should finish it off. Why the secrecy now ? !!.

If a woman pinches your butt and you deem it as harassment, the same laws are there for you to use to file a legitimate suit. The point is you chose to laugh it off, others might choose to exercise their right to punish the offender by law.
My understanding of feminism is the right as a woman to choose, to have the same choices as others of different genders. When it comes to making my choice, I'll let morality be my guide rather than my sex. Why is that idea so reprehensible to you menfolk?
Informed choices, freedom to exercise my right.. No need for postulations of what the eventual choices might be.
Yea ! but what are my chances of getting a conviction as opposed to yours. Go and do a research on that, then come back to me.
FamilyRe: Being A Strong Woman Isnt Remarkable, It's Normal - Adichie by Chinom(m): 1:38pm On May 31, 2015
@Innervoice : Another fallacy. The fact that you laugh it off when a woman pinches your butt does not mean that you cannot sue a woman on grounds of it.
How you respond to it is your business, before the law you are equal and you don't have to accept it.

It's either you guys do not understand my point or you are just playing 'DUMB' . Go back and read my post again. Yes, we are equal before the law. We are equal on paper. But the judge who will handle the case did not fall from Jupiter. He is a member of the society that sees us as not equal.
Yes, I can sue, but will the judge and members of the jury find the woman guilty ?. How many %age of women are found guilty of male sexual harassment ?.

I am done thrashing this point. You have already admitted that men and women are not ' biologically' equal. So what is point of all these Feminism ?.

Woman wrapper is a cheap tactic. Just sayin'

How many times in your life have you felt uncomfortable because of s:exist comments?
Ol' boy, your sense of equality is warped. The fact that men don't feel uncomfortable with s.exist comments from women only serves to confirm that we are not equal. If we were equal or rather if society considers us equal, then s.exist comments and sexual harassment should carry the same weight irrespective of the gender.

If a woman pinches my butt, I laugh it off. If I pinch a woman's butt, I could go to jail for that. Maybe, this answers your question about how women are more protected by the society. I know the laws are there, but try convincing a Judge that a woman raped you. You will be considered a clown. People will just laugh at you. Societal perceptions affects the ways laws are implemented. And this favours women big time.

They are very funny reasons. But the guy who called it a Yoruba thing has a valid point. You should be man enough to accept your people for who and what they are.

Most of the cases are from Lagos, not really the 'West' as you wrote. They are cases from Ikeja, Agege, Igando and Alakuko customary courts in Lagos state. Those places have a heavy presence of NON- YORUBA residents.
I could visualize some of the court cases while reading.... it is authentically Yoruba.

This is an extreme situation and I don't think anyone will think of gender equality under these circumstances. If a terrorist decides to shoot you because you are the man, then it is not a woman's fault but the terrorist's decision. And under these circumstances the terrorist will probably ra.pe the woman after you have been shot. Bottom line is that both, men and women, have advantages and disadvantages. You lose your life, the woman loses her husband, possibly the father of her kids, and also her physical integrity. Her life will never be the same again hence she has also lost her old life and may never recover again.

Yes men bear a lot. The sooner women understand it, the better our lives will become. However, men must also understand what women go through.

Now explain please what kind of protection women get in their every day lives that you get only 10% of.
Yes, I know it is an extreme situation. I was using it to buttress the point that there are situations in which men are singled out just for BEING A MAN. That terrorist or kidnapper never asked who was more educated, richer or more beautiful. No, we are chosen based purely on our gender.

Same thing happens in most military and para-military formations. I just think that women should be happy the way things are now. There is absolutely no need for any form of feminist movement anno 2015. We are getting along just fine as it is. Most women in Islamic societies, as well as rural communities are just comfortable with their lives as it is. It's all these Western educated, city women that are trying to create an imaginary problem.
FamilyRe: Being A Strong Woman Isnt Remarkable, It's Normal - Adichie by Chinom(m): 11:13am On May 31, 2015
Women are always quick to play the 'feminist card' when it suits them. When they will be positively favoured. But when the crazy terrorist or kidnapper decides to shoot me first just for being a man, the women will never step in the name of equality to be shot as well.

Men bear a lot in this world just for being a man. Women should just be happy and grateful for being a woman because the world favours them in a million ways. We, men don't get 10% of the sort of protection women get.

I'm sure you didn't read that article.

If you did, you'll understand that her point is, why are men privileged to do so culturally, instead of who deserves it by achievement irregardless of the gender.
