^^ That's exactly what I make out about this mason issue. In "Run this town", he said "I'm in Mason. . . ." that was too explicit; I don't believe real members reveal it so freely. It's all hype. Rappers always take the 'tough' act to another level.
But C'mon dude, every idiot knows Jay-z isn't his real name. That whole babbling was irrelevant And that most rappers aren't as tough as portrayed on TV. It's just common sense. You don't have to meet a rapper in person to know that.
bawomolo: that's an urban legend that has never being proven true. BS
As per the thread, i won't mind an older woman
It's true most of the time from what I've seen but then again, it depends on the individuals. Some people don't mature early so they tend to look young even when old, especially skinny people.
Pharoh: My sister what you have just explained is the same thing the culture which we are condemning here will also explain if you take your time to find out.
Maybe, but then I might never find out as I'm not using "culture" as my reason. It's mostly my personal opinions. I know myself better, thank you.
Meldrick: Again you prove me right when I say you visited Nigeria last in the 60's. I bought mine when I began working but go to our Universities here in Nigeria and see students using their personal laptops for their research work. I visited Covenant University (Ota - Ogun State) and I was impressed. Please come down to Nigeria and pay a visit to that school and you will agree with me that the days Nigerians sing America wonders are over.
Ah! Ah!! Ah!!!, there u go again with the feeling that you have a stake in America. My dear obliterate that notion. Oh I can now see why u feel so comfortable in another man's land. If there are no true American's, why did they have to wait so long till 2008 before getting their first black president?
Damn!!! are you sure you can read? Did I ever say people in Nigeria don't have laptops? You need to be doing "research work" to have one? Na wa!!! Another man's land, I laugh in Djibouti!!! I'm sure you're in YOUR land, what do you gain from this land of yours? Like Platinum said, your vote doesn't even count. so leave matter.
tourmaline: My dear, wake up!!! You must have left Nigeria to the US in the 60's and you are not aware of the happenings. Iam hooked up to the internet from my own home with my personal laptop. [b]I bought my laptop during the first three months I began working in my company.
I have an uncle in the US who is now a citizen. Some years back he sent some coats to two of my other uncles in Nigeria. He indeed was feeling like a yankee super star but my uncles here in Nigeria were just laughing at him because those were coats you will see in okrika at yaba in lagos. He inded thought life was as bad as the foreign media and people like you paint it. When he came to Nigeria to inspect the progress of his building, reality dawned on him because he saw that the people he was sending coats for wear good suits and were doing good jobs. He became startled (and let me use the word) flabbergasted when he realized they had gigantic structures in Lagos. They were doing good jobs.
As am writing now, he is thinking of relocating and my other uncles wanna fix him up with a good job here. My advise to you all out there who are posing with the labour of others is for you to come back home and enjoy the freedom of been in your country rather than complaining of money growing on trees. Men and women like Martin Luther, Rosa Parks struggled for blacks to have a decent life in US and today you are there posing. Why don't you come back home and be the Martin Luther of your country.
The only Nigerians respected in the US are those that have made impacts in their own home and affected the world at large not liabilities to the US who come to enjoy basic amenities meant for true Americans
I like that please help me tell them. Those Nigerians in diaspora should stop behaving as if they are whites. even if they stay abroad for 1.5 light years you know what, black na black you can praise the whites all you like
LOL you just proved me right. You bought your laptop after you got a job in a company? Dear, people here start owning laptops from high school or at least before going to college. What's college without a laptop? Homework assignments are mostly on there. The only reason a college student here won't own a laptop is maybe because s(he) is one of those freaks who never see the need for such stuff, they'd rather go to the library even at midnight to use the computers there.
You and I know very well that it's only teens whose parents are financially stable that own laptops in Nigeria. Or the ones into yahoo-yahoo.
Anywayz, this wasn't my aim in the first place. Was just explaining what the other poster meant to the honeric guy. I'm not trying to bash Nigeria or what not. I've lived there so I know. As for your other posts couldn't read the whole thing but anywayz, who are the so-called true Americans?? As far as I know, no one group owns America, that's why it's called the United States, true Americans my nyash!! Columbus stole it from the Indians, the whites used black, spanish, and many other ethnic groups to build the America we know today. Why do you think Indians get free education? Black, spanish, Asian, white, and other groups of people equally own America. so who cares? True Americans! LIMM.
IgboGirl: All of you that are claiming to be die hard Nigerians and insulting those who have denied Nigeria, please do enlighten us on what you are most proud of about Nigeria?
I have never denied Nigeria, haven't been in a position to and I doubt I can considering I bear a Nigerian name and I love my name so no chance of me ever changing it to a foreign name but I must tell you though that I am not proud of Nigeria.
Thank you!!! It's usually the ones screaming like they're the most patriotic that know zilch about the country. smh!!
stillwater: No I've not. I have never used the 'I'm African' phrase. I always say I'm Nigerian. Saying Nigeria sounds sophisticated in my ears. People are generally nice to me anyway. Maybe the witch from una village follow una come here that's why the citizens here hate you guys.
Haha, same here. "I'm African" indeed. I don't hear Americans say they're North Americans. Na so Naija people go dey disgrace person!! No wonder they think Africa is a country.
Around march or so was the last time I checked my weight so i don't think i'm obsessed.
I do worry sometimes though about my lean muscles turning to fatty tissues. because i think that contributes to whether you look fat or not. Chiogo for example has plenty lean muscles (judging from her profile pic) and would look skinner than someone who weight the same as her but had more fatty tissues.
and metabolism is just a measure of level of energy for physical activity really. you will notice that people who are fat tend to be those who hate taking the stairs, walking long distances and are just "lazy" about physical activity in general etc while skinny people (and children) are usually very physically active and jumpy.
Oh gosh, you're right!! I have friends who are way bigger than me and we weigh almost the same. They say it's because I'm taller. This tissue thing kinda makes sense. I also think one's height adds to their weight.
I get tired going up the stairs oo. I'm so not fit. Going down is easier for me. But then I'm on the 22nd freaking floor!!
THE AMAKA: well there is a problem with what you said. yes tyra was skinny and WAS a model. she started that whole "so what!" movement. talking about embracing your body and embracing your curves, as well as people shouldnt feel the need to lose weight. blah blah and then she started THIS WHOLE MOVEMENT to then turn around and lose weight to look like a twig again. she is done with modeling, she has retired. also if she was so much for "embracing and loving your body" she wouldnt have felt the need to drop all that weight. that shows from day one she wasnt satisfied with her body.
monique was the main promoter of this "big women/curvy women" lingo. all this about skinny women being evil and big girls can do this and that. i even knew a lady that looked up to monique for being strong and proud of her body. only for monique to go and lose weight talking about she wants to lose more than what she has already lost. where do her fans stand now? who do they stand behind? a hypocritical woman that has been telling them for all these years to love themselves and embrace their bodies, only for her to do the exact opposite?
and as for raven, ive heard her say a lot of times how she is proud and happy with her body. even her "That's So Raven" line that came out a while back, she mentioned about how her line was for girls of ALL sizes and how she did make a lot of clothes for curvy girls and things like that. i dont exactly remember where, but she did talk about how she loves her body and how she feels everyone should have a positive body image no matter what size. and what did she do? lose weight! im guessing she wasnt happy with her body image that she was telling everyone else to embrace.
ahhhh i did write a lot, but these women sef. how can they be screaming one thing, but doing another? all their fans and the people that look up to them, where do they stand now? its best that all of them just go and lose weight. who is their defense now?
Damn, did you really have to write an essay?
Look, I don't follow much what Tyra does, haven't watched her show in a while. So I don't know about the so-called movement. And I know she's retired But she still runs a modeling company/agency, no? so she's still on TV as an ex-model. Anyways, I know Tyra has fake ways.
Oh, c'mon, there's a difference between curvy and fat. Raven is curvy, there was a time she got almost fat, I guess that was when she had to lose the weight. I'm sure she likes her curvy body, not the later fat one.
As for Mo'nique, yeah she's pretty much a hypocrite.
kay29000: Hmm! I have learnt a lot from this post.
@chiogo You impress me. I didn't know you were so intelligent. I wonder why u don't listen to some on like nas with all te depth u have showed here.
Who said I don't listen to his music?
chiogo: Man, I'm a big fan of Jay-z and Nas but now i dunno.
RealizeRea: ok now i understand all tha nas fans out there r kinda crushed after hearing he cud be a mason but if your a true fan of his then u just know theres more to it. ive always had ma doubts bout jayz n nas has always been tha man in ma eyes. its all believable but in ma perspective, theres an alterier motive here. trust, nas will not let us down. this is all a thought out plan. nas n pac r thee greatest rappers of all tyme. theres teaching in their lyrics. u just gotta listen wit deaf ears n ull peep tha subliminal messages. there aint shyt to fear jus be prepared n trust in your higher good, its gonna get bad before it will be good but we'll get thru it, COP THA UNTITLED ALBUM FROM NASS
He won't let you down because he's God, right?? ok.
Anyway, this whole mason talk is funny. "If you listen to a song backwards, you'll see that the artiste is worshiping the devil" - wow! that's genius.
vicade: She is fat no doubt but she aint blind too.Moreover. maybe it could be worse. maybe this is damage control
She's fat Na wa oo. Do you guys know the meaning of fat anyway?
kellorah: I don't like 9ja music, except for maybe 3, will u say I am a hater, that I'm jealous of D'banj and co's success?? It sounds sooo silly man.
The funny part is that they actually say you're jealous. I've been told, me sef I don't like a vast number of naija music/artistes, only listen to a handful.
stillwater: I'm obsessed with keeping the weight ON!!!! If I don't, I'll end up on medication.
Chei!!! lmao
kellorah: I wish I could put on a bit of weight. . . . .@ the back of my mind though I'm worried that if I eventually do, it won't go with my height lol.
I don't watch wot I eat but I do weigh my self every now and then, when I feel like maybe I've added a bit. I get all haps, stand on the scale, and it's the same as it was the last time. It's hella frustrating.
A fear I have though is that the fat is storing up somewhere, and one day it's gonna get angry and just shoot out from all parts of my body lol.
See, slim people have problems too!!
I'd rather be slim than be fat as I would be insecure otherwise, and I know I wont be able to handle it.
Wow!!! it's the same for me!!! Sometimes, those scale things give the wrong number. I just wait till I see my Doctor.
@Poster, he was probably busy as he said while chatting with you.
I, for example, chat while reading. Talking on the chat thing is a bit of a distraction, don't you think? I always say no too, I mean we're already chatting. you coulda typed whatever it was you wanted to tell him.
Anywayz, your boyfriend sounds like the type who doesn't show his emotions that well and you seem to like a lot of attention, don't we all? It gets annoying with such guys. You can ignore some of 'em just to give 'em a taste of their own medicine but they still won't change. I dunno what to tell ya. Either you deal with it or you leave him alone permanently.
Na . . . .halle berry is an hourglass, while beyonce is curvy hun
Hmm, interesting! Thanks!! now I know
