Best wishes and have a safe flight.

Hello Babyboy2020,

LOI - letter of introduction

Also known as approval letter. You get it when you’re application has been approved. It will contain the details for your study permit. You will need to show it to the border officer when entering Canada.

BVL - Biometric validity letter

You get it when a decision has been made on your application. Whether an approval or rejection. It tells you how long your biometrics is valid for (usually 10 years). After the BVL comes the approval or rejection letter.

You can read the thread from page one to get more detailed info.

Best wishes

Hello Godsblessings,

I’ve been using Airbnb for many years. It is very legit and safe. Paying to reserve your booking is the normal there.

Best wishes
Godsblessings:
the school accommodation is 1220cad, but it's filled up , the school recommended hotel inn downtown it's 85$ per night almost 1.2M for 14days , and when checked Airbnb , I saw booking at 45k for the 14days. Pls has anyone booked accommodation on Airbnb ? I think Airbnb is cheaper compare to other but I'm not sure about it's legit cos we need to make the payment to reserve.

Hello Hassan19,

Between 4-6 months is acceptable. 10k cad is currently about 3.3m (bank rate) and almost 4m (black market) I would say 4m is a safe mark. You should stay updated with the exchange rate changes incase you’re not applying now.

Best wishes
Hassan19:
Hi everyone, hope you’re enjoying your Sunday? The requirement for bank statement on Canada Immigration website is past 4 month bank statement while some people here claim 6 months. Please which one should I use? 4 or 6 months?

And lastly, what’s the exchange rate of $CAD10000 to naira so I can know how much to leave in my bank account after paying my tuition fee.

Looking forward to see a response from anyone.

Thank you.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Chocs(f): 3:36pm On Dec 13, 2020
Hello Dameelee,

You should fill it within 48 hours from your arrival time in Canada. The app will let you if you fill it in earlier than that, but you might have problems when you get into Canada. They pulled people who filled it in earlier than 48 hours before arrival and asked them to fill it in again. It would waste your time and stress you out. You can set a reminder on your phone to remind you to fill it in maybe 24 hours before your flight. Don’t forget to print your confirmation receipt after filling it in or have a screen shot of it.

Best wishes and have a safe flight.

Dameelee:

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the refusal.

Did you order your gcms notes to see the specific reason for rejection? Putting money into your account is one good step, the other step is to show the source of the money (payslips, proof the business, sale of property e.t.c)

Best wishes

Hello,

You can print out your statement of account with all pages stamped by the bank. It does not have to be a dom account. As long as you can access your money, you’re good to go.
Dameelee:
Please what is the most suitable way to show POF? I already have CAD cash (2k) and I want to show my POF for cash in bank. What do you advice? is it possible to just print out my statement of account or I have to open a dom account?
People that travelled recently, how did you go about this?

No, advanced diploma is lower than a post graduate diploma. If you already have a degree, you should go for a post graduate diploma.

Hello,

Have you requested for a gcms notes for your refusals? If you haven’t, you should. That’s the first step. When you see the visa officer’s concern about your application, you can fix them and then reapply. Otherwise, you might keep getting rejections.

Best wishes

Good evening all
Please I need an assistance.
I had applied 4 times before for study permit and I was refused and the reason they gave was on financial ground, homes ties and travel history respectively and my sponsor was my elder brother.
I want to reapplying and am thinking of doing the self sponsor as I work and have a business that is doing well.
Please I need opinions and suggestions on the documents to submit that will increase my chances.
Thanks
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Chocs(f):
Hello everyone,

Please has anyone been able to report their isolation address and complete the daily mandatory symptom check in after arrival in Canada? The arriveCAN app hasn’t been working for me. I even had to submit my info online (not with the app) before traveling. I’ve arrived and I can’t figure out how to confirm I’ve arrived at my isolation place and do the daily check in. Who knows what’s up? Thanks in advance

Update for those who might have a similar problem later on. I just received an email from the border officers with a link to do the daily check ins. The link redirected me to the app and the app still wasn’t working. I deleted and reinstalled the app and it’s now working. So I did the confirmation of my arrival in my isolation place and daily check in via the ArriveCAN app. All the best.

This is not new. It has been this way for a while. Although, they don’t ask for it many times, one should have it incase they ask. The bank statement should be recent, less than 30 days old.

Best wishes
jpepper:
Hello people,

@justmellow
@frankbonn
@lekkiboboe
For those that have made travel plans, Is it true that IRCC now requires that we show proof of funds at the point of entry? Please see the information in the screenshot below from UBC, looks like we have to provide the banks statement that we used to apply and a new one, how true is this?
I also saw similar information on IRCC(second snapshot) but IRCC just says “you must show proof of funds” they did not request for 30days statement or any specifics. My question is : will it be sufficient to show them the same bank stmt that i submitted when i applied?
TravelRe: Nigerian Students In Canada: How Do You Survive? by Chocs(f): 11:27am On Dec 06, 2020
No, it is not. Check out several schools, look at the requirements for the course you’re interested in, then apply if you meet the requirements.

This technique of threatening ladies to lower standards or they’ll die of frustration is not new. It’s the regular with Nigerian guys grin if you cannot meet the standard, move. With the comments I’m seeing from Nigerian guys here, I understand why girls won’t send you people. The world has moved forward, make una upgrade too. Feel free to pick wife from Naija, it’s a free world. Someone has a standard, if you can’t meet it, move. Stop the threats of loneliness and stuff.

Wanting someone to accept you at your lowest is a normal human feeling but you’re not entitled to anyone’s acceptance. That is the way life works! I won’t be giving any further comment concerning this topic.

All the best
Kekereekun123:
ok. I have heard. Come first and see how majority are lamenting. As for me i no send them now because when i was hustling they no send me. All i'm saying is they should be open minded, 9ja guys dont mind coming home to pick babe. 9ja ladies wont do it as the guys is likely a user or scam. Once again Nigerian ladies should lower their expectations. The loneliness and frustration is biting them hard.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JehY3YaJdVE watch this, both work in same company but have different backgrounds, guy has 26k in student loans from a normal family, girl has zero student loans and from a rich home. Is the lady not better than himhuh Siddon there o
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Chocs(f): 3:18am On Nov 29, 2020
There’s nothing wrong with this, especially if they have good jobs and are well to do. Most people don’t even like themselves when they’re broke, not to talk of others liking you. It’s the way life works. Wanting someone with a stable job and good finance is definitely not ojukokoro.

Kekereekun123:
i used to think guys in canada use to over exaggerate the dating situation in canada. Most Nigerian ladies here wont even give you eye or answer you if you are still a struggling migrant, took me time to get a job in my field unto covid. Suddenly they are now coming close.so what happens if i am laid off tomorrow for example. They will japa again abi. I no longer pity those ladies complaining of no husband in canada o. Na ojukokoro dey worry most, looking for a guy earning megabuck, living in a downtown condo with 2019 car cheesy

Hello,

Don’t do anything fraudulent. You will get banned from Canada for 5 years. The visa officers do their work very well and you will most likely get caught.

It’s better to find another sponsor.

My question is, will it be better to manipulate
Or try using an uncle that doesn’t have same surname with me.
If there is another option please let me know
Thanks.
