Hi there, If you sponsor her and show the relevant documents, it should lead to a positive outcome. - show a bank statement that has at least 1 year full tuition + 10,000 cad for upkeep or more - attach your employment letter - attach your payslips - attach proof of your own assets - attach a sponsorship letter detailing why you’d like to sponsor her education You should also show strong home ties to Nigeria for her by providing - her employment letter - her bank statement with some money - her payslips - documents of her assets - volunteer experience and proof of commitment to her community Make sure you write a strong statement of purpose/letter of explanation and leave no stone unturned. For sponsorship letter sample, you can search this thread, there are some samples. I am also attaching a sample below Letter of Financial Support I, [Sponsor’s name] solemnly affirm and declare that: [Student’s name], passport number [XX], is my [daughter/son/sibling/etc.] and I am [his/her] sponsor. The letter of introduction will show up on your portal around the time when your passport is stamped. You can show the printed copy or electronic copy at the POE. Cheers duke2000: |

I don’t see the huge difference paying yourself would make. Showing receipts of your freelance job and and some samples of your job or even a portfolio if you have one with a clear explanation in your SOP should do. You can use your savings account. One job you’ll need to do is to show that your business is successful and well established. I’ll also advice you to have the full tuition and amount for living expenses for the total duration of your program. Plus you’ll have to explain clearly how the program will help enhance your business on your return. Cheers Guest911: |

In addition to what others have said, you don’t need to pay yourself any salary. Your business registration documents and business bank statement showing you as the sole signatory to the account is enough proof that you have something doing and the money is available to you for use. If I understand correctly, you are no longer with the company you worked for abroad. To apply for your visa, you need recent pay stubs. If you don’t have that because you’re self employed then you should show the documents I mentioned above. You can include past pay stubs and employment letters in your ‘client documents’ just to show you’ve been doing well in your career and show the source of the money in your savings account. A PGD after an HND shows an academic progression. Have you been working in the hospitality field? What is the motivation for the switch from food tech to hospitality? You’ll have to explain that in a convincing way to the visa officer through your statement of purpose to get approved. Cheers subzheero: |

Hi there, I had someone who had an issue because they were resuming late (~2 weeks late). The official tried to contact the school to verify that the person was genuinely a student and was allowed to start late but couldn’t get through to them. His saving grace was the fact that he had reached out to professors via email informing them he’d be starting late and had asked that they shared assignments or any relevant info with him which they did. He completed assignments from Naija and submitted them via email. When the officials couldn’t reach his school via phone, he showed them these email conversations and he was allowed to come in. Schools usually have their policy on late resumption, it’ll be helpful to check with them what the allowed last date for resumption is. Cheers onispark: |

Hi there, Whichever way you go should work out. Deed or no deed. A deed of gift probably makes it look better but people have gotten approved without it. Your mum should state that she has provided your first semester tuition and provided your upkeep money in her sponsorship letter. You should also highlight the transaction in your letter of explanation/statement of purpose. Cheers. harkintem: |

Hi there, Kindly defer your admission by contacting your school to let them know the situation. While doing that, you can start gathering your documents for the study permit application. Everything you need for a successful study permit application can be found on this thread and previous threads. Please do take some time to read them. All the best. SoftChordz: |

Hi there, Congratulations on your admission. First I’ll advice you to read this thread thoroughly. Every information you need for a successful application is on here. Do not rely solely on what an agent tells you. There is no fixed amount that guaranties the success of your visa application. The minimum requirement for your study permit application is 1 year tuition fee + $10,000 cad for your upkeep. Since you are self sponsored, it’s advisable to pay your full tuition and have upkeep money for the total duration of the program available. This will make it more believable that you can cater for yourself throughout your studies. As an entrepreneur, you have to make sure you show you’re doing well for yourself. Your business registration documents, bank statements, tax clearance certificate if available, and any other document that shows the importance and success of your company. You can also show assets you own like your land documents. You also need to establish how your business and assets will make you come back to Nigeria after your studies. Lastly, avoid depositing any large sum of money into your account without explaining where it is from and attaching proof. Eg if it’s from a sale of an asset, attach sale receipt. Hi there, You can work for an unlimited amount of time on campus if you’re working on the campus where you are studying PLUS 20 hours per week off-campus, unless your study permit says otherwise. You can see more information on IRCC’s website. Screenshots from it are attached below. Cheers! Mexzy88: 2 Likes

Hi there, -Make sure you’ve used the latest version of the ArriveCAN app - International passport - Letter of introduction (the letter the visa office sent you when they approved your study permit) - valid letter of acceptance from your school - have a valid electronic travel authorization (eTA), a valid visitor visa (temporary resident visa) (what they stamped in your passport when you submitted it) - valid medical exam (It must be valid the day you enter Canada, it is valid for 12 months from the day you did it) - Proof of funds (recent bank statement or GIC) NB: If you’re 18 and over, you must qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller to come to Canada to study as an international student. You must upload proof of your vaccination status in ArriveCAN before you board your flight to Canada. You should also bring a copy with you. It’s good to have all these documents but they won’t necessarily ask you for all of them. What you’ll be asked for depends on the officer you meet. Best of luck! Wegoinghigher: 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Hi there, The name does not matter as long as you can show you are married. It is not odd for couples to bear different surnames/last names. If you currently bear a different surname/last name from your husband, simply attach your marriage certificate as a proof of your marriage. Cheers. Makibarbie: 1 Like |

Hi there, A deferral in your start date shouldn’t affect your study permit application. Although, if the new start date is 150 or more days after the start date in the initial letter of acceptance (LOA) you applied with, you are required to send IRCC the new LOA. Cheers hayoBams: 1 Like |
