Check Matalan, they are currently on sales and deliver within 15 days for sales items. They've got nice quality items. The George range by Asda is equally good too. Primark (though currently closed) is good for kid's wears and my LO has had some Primark stuff for about 2-3 years without issues.
In terms of dresses, Tshirts and tights, Primark products perform as well as other brands based on my experience. In terms of jeans trousers for kids, it performs just as well as other brands. In terms of jeans trousers for adults, Primark rips in the bum area (between the thighs) faster than Matalan/M&S brands while Primark cotton/office trousers do just as well as other brands but this can also be dependent on usage.
Just wash whatever brand you buy with a low temperature and the recommended setting while also using colour and dirt collectors in your wash to preserve the quality and increase length of time it's used for.
I no go lie, I respect this your write up. Chai, e b like professional shopper review. U even know where brands de for fade and tear. Thanks I really appreciate.

Check the sale/clearance sections of the above online stores. U would be surprised at your finds esp for the kids. I understand your not wanting to compromise on the quality for them.
Thanks. I will check them all. I know next to be expensive, but with the corona effect, everyone is doing extra sales so I am sure one will be able to afford them now without sweat.

If you have no power for that then you can check their full price item .

Also boots bought over mothercare so you can find some clothing items on boots website. If it's a girl child then for me monsoon is my favourite for girls clothing
Thank you very much. He’s a boy. Good thing is this shops are doing click and pick, Cos delivery is not possible most of the time. Tesco said they won’t be able to deliver till Wednesday next week. Good thing I bought a first week card so I was able to go around to different shops and pick my stuffs. Even the Zara, I saw online that they were open for in store purchase and click n pick. But went there and they said it was just click n pick.

Thank you! I appreciate your response. I called Emirates customer care and they confirm that Covid-19 test is not required. However, I got conflicting response at the Airport today where one staff said yes and the other said no.

I called Emirates again, they told me no that we can check back tomorrow or Tuesday. Traveling Friday. Has anyone travelled recently, like in January on Emirates.
I think Emirate needing it may not be the issue anymore since UK requires it. So I will advice you focus on what the UK needs right now. Blessings

Debenham's are holding a closing down sale - its online now as stores are closed - check and see if there's anything you can still get there.
Some others are giving reduced prices for instance - M&S still had its 30% off sale on as at last week.
Do Primark for a 2 year old - they grow so fast and you don't really need to invest good money into children's clothes which they'll grow out of before you know it. Fast fashion all the way for children. And your money goes farther there too - there's a reason why their stores are usually so full.
Thanks. Well said.

Primark: Paris = UK
Zara: Paris = UK

There is Zara in the UK too.

There lies the answer you seek.
Yeah, I have google Zara near me and the open ones. I just wanted to know if there are other similar to Zara that are not popular but also have good stuffs. I like your hidden reply to the question. Please if you know any so that there can be multiple options for us, especially for our little man. I went to shop grocery at Asda and saw they sell clothes upstairs, prices were about that of Zara but quality not as that. I know people who have been here for years will know those stores that are not so popular but have good stuff especially for kids. I think ours we can get some from Zara and buy more later as we grow in the city.

Please can anyone suggest where I can buy good quality baby clothes (2yrs upward) at good prices in Glasgow. By good price I mean, something of the Zara budget or less. But the important part is the quality. A quality like Tommy. Lol

Then good Jean for adult (male and female)

I can't say why but this almost led to tears

One, i empathize with you
Two, i feel same way currently though i got to UK some weeks ago... Yet still had a rather shocking experience from a transaction done back in 9ja out of trust. Na small remain i for cancel Nigerians when it comes to business. Feels like wickedness runs in their veins, no human empathy but gross inhumanity.

I trust too easily as i feel it makes life less stressful God help me in my future encounters
But i do pray you find healing soon enough.

Apologies for the gibberish i just typed above
Truth is there are still people (Nigerians) who are blessings to the world. I read some pages back about a guy that helped someone pay IHS n VISa fee without benefit. I believe things are gonna change. With regards to your fear, after sometime I also believe it will fade off (at least I hope so for myself), but being watchful and vigilant when dealing with Nigerians, I think that’s gonna be in me forever, especially people I don’t know personally.

I don’t think it’s an issue. As long as you have counted 28days complete. I don’t think uploading same day should be an issue.

Pls house, help me here.
Thanks
It is not a must requirement to have a place to stay. You can say no, then state that you have checked properties and will proceed to make payment after your visa has been issued.

If you are very interested in having an address to use for where you will be staying then you can use your school address.

Hope it helps.

I am here again o! I was able to book Monday for hubby's biometrics and the date isn't available again for me and the kids. Not even flexi. Can I choose prime time appointment for us for same day?

I really don't know how it works.. I need an urgent response please.
Thank you
When I did for me and family. I got one persons date first then, I focused on getting another and the third. My advice is check back around 12midnight to 1am and 5am to 7am. You will get closer dates, I noticed that and it worked for me. I ended up using standard for the whole family. I think the new days are available because of canceled and changed appointments.

When you log in at those early and late hours, you will see standard for new dates, let’s assume you get standard for Tuesday. You can check the number of slots available, if it’s up to your family number you just change his and register every one for that day. If it’s just two, you hold on to that two and adjust other members of the family to further dates while you still try to get them for the present date. You can play with it that way and get same date for the whole family, maybe not that Monday, but definitely a day with standard for the whole family. The time of the slot gotten doesn’t matter as they will treat you and family at one time slot. Just work towards getting the whole family on same day.

But if you aim is not getting standard, but getting everyone for Monday, then I don’t know how the added services works, you will have to ignore all I said and wait for a better suggestion.

I am a partner in a start up law firm, I have the CAC Certificate for business registration. But I run a personal account for my law practise. Do I need to upload the CAC documents as proof of employment or I should just let it pass since I may not have a corporate account to back up its financials? Is it essential for me to upload such document?
Secondly, can I upload both the Transcript and the Degree Certificate or Either of the Documents?

Responses are appreciated in advance.
I understand the feeling to want to add business document thinking it will increase chances of getting visa approved. But I don’t really think that’s the way with UK student visa, I know it’s not the way, but because I don’t work with them I can’t categorically say it’s not the way. But here is my advice from experience applying and reading from others here:

1. Your employment status is not a thing in student visa. So just let it slide and upload documents that are required.

2. Stick to what is on your CAS. Extras are not really a thing in student visa application.

Best of Luck

Any flight with lesser hours is the best to travel with kids except price is of consideration. If not, lesser hours flight are the best for kids. So consider the suggestion from @sandradee and @theguyfromhr before the one I gave.

Wish you the best.

Hello everyone.

For a family of 5 going to Aberdeen,Scotland.

What's the travel route please.

Lagos to where and where.

We want to book all the flights at once not get to London before booking another one.

Please help intended travel date is Thursday 7th January.

Please help
Hi, to add to what TuniLove said,

There is an Emirate flight from Lagos to Aberdeen for 7th, it’s a long 28hrs and 10mins flight :

Route: Lagos - Manchester - Aberdeen

The price of the flight is #430,951. That’s for one person. But I believe you have children among and their price will not be same base on their ages. You can check it out if the hours of the flight is not an issue for you as I believe the price may be low compared to other airline.

If your date is flexible and you can travel on the 14th (one week), the price of the flight will reduce to #391,581 per person. This also may not be the unit price for your family as I believe there are kids and they have big price difference base on age.

From experience I know if you have an infant (less than 2yr), he or she is gonna pay less than 10% of your flight if you chose to carry the baby on your lap.

I just notice the flight has one long layover (8hrs plus). This is tiring and stressful for kids. If you decide to go with the flight for any reason, then quote me and I will share a way to keep them a little busy before that time.

You gat to let go of some trust issues you are having...... I guess that what happens when you live so long in jagajaga naija. Yes be cautious but there are many trusty worthy good people that can bail you out if found

Other than that ....it can be a tough road , if you are unwilling to let go of those trust issues. Instead reach out and start building a support network for yourself . No man is an island

You cannot do without exchanging with black market rate. The only provision for a discount is school fees. The rest money you need , would eventually be sourced at a competitive black market rate so free your mind . Alternatively your other source of fund can be salary here once you start working
You are 100% right about me letting go of some trust issues. I lived in Nigeria for the last 2years+ after some time abroad and I had that Nigerian fear brought back in me. I saw the worst for that period. I won’t lie, it gave me a very scary feeling about us. people get friends account abroad and use them for illegal activities without fear of that person getting into trouble. I can be nice, do things and if possible help out in any way I can without getting personal stuff involved. I remember after my first year, my brother noticed that fear and advised I go on vacation at least once a year so as to get that fear out and remember that life is not that difficult. But after vacation, you come back and the next person doing business with you reminds you of how we can be.

I don’t want to justify my fear, but I think part of the reason we remain like this is because, even when we travel abroad, we still want to hang around ONLY our people thinking that’s where help will come from or can come from, forgetting that the reason for going abroad was to learn new things (not excluding making money). Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying our people don’t help, we do help, but I have been helped/assisted by citizens of countries rated low, I don’t think help comes from just your people. I have opened my mind to understand that you will get help/assistance because there are human on earth who have compassion not because you are from a specific part of the world.

I have been burn and I know relative who got burned too. Guess that’s the reason for the fear. One of the major reason why I like nairaland is that I get to see Nigerians help each other selflessly. Trust me if you lived in Nigeria the last 3yrs, you will know it’s not common like it used to be in the past. I don’t know if it’s the hardship in the country that led to our being wicked/heartless or if it’s just something we breath in. But I am happy to see something different on here and it gives me hope that someday we will be more compassionate and loving to not just our people but to human in general.

With regards to black market rate, like I said earlier, I don’t have issues with people making exchange at that rate, making money is not easy and anyone who does, has the right to exchange at whatever rate that makes them happy. Even Nigerian banks don’t give forex at the CBN rate. I personally don’t dig it like I said, it’s me. I believe it alters the HELP offering. Trust me helping has no side attraction, you help and that’s it. If you see most of the reason people come here for need of pounds, it’s because they are in tight corner and desperately in need of one. Giving them at black market rate (that one will not get from the money apps wen sending money to Naija) alters the HELP. To me it’s more like capitalizing on the desperation of the person in need. This is just my personal thought on that.

I am not a saint, I have my own issues too and I try to work as hard as I can to be a better person too. But I believe I am entitled to say things how I see it. I am also open to someone making me understand better the things I may be looking at from a wrong perspective.

Blessings.

Why cant you transfer the money to someone to help you get the cash. I'm not sure they practice the naija style of printing bank cards arbitrarily here.
Thanks for your reply. I really don’t know anyone and I believe transferring money to someone’s account is not too cool. At least I will be wary getting funds to my account from someone I don’t know or the source of fund. I try not to ask for what I know I won’t be able to do or give if asked. The only option in this case is getting cash physically. This won’t be bad, but I trade and don’t really think it’s wise getting funds for that black market rate given. Trust me, I don’t expect anyone to offer less than that rate as money is hard to make( I respect that). But I don’t really dig that exchange rate used. I have seen it fly around on here, I don’t think it’s wrong, like I said, working and making money is not an easy thing, so I don’t expect anyone to do bonanza with it.

The summary is my own too much... What can you do for me in this case? Direct me to a way to get what I ought-to/need and I will be very much grateful. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys for the swift reply.

1. I can’t add card to apple or google pay as there is no card yet from the Monzo.

2. Monzo app is not functional until after card is activated.

3. I tried opening a starling account and they are requesting for proof of address to complete account opening. I am currently in an Airbnb apartment.

4. Does Revolut request for same as above, if so, then there is gonna be another hold up.

Thanks for the replies.

Greetings,

Abeg aside from this Monzo, any other account one can open online and get card delivered to the house. The Monzo guys are yet to deliver the card and quarantine go finish tomorrow. They initially said it will be delivered between 30th n 3rd January, later I saw there was an adjustment to 31st to 4th. I want to assume it’s the holiday plus COVID. Now they are saying if I don’t receive it I should reorder another card. That’s gonna be another days again and I don’t think I can wait. I need to do some grocery/other shopping on Wednesday. If there is any bank that will let me open an account and get card instantly. I really need to have an account set up and funds transferred. Please i need suggestion for any bank in Glasgow that is ok and reasonable. Thanks

Good morning people, please I would like to ask if I’m still on the right track, my start date is on February 1 .... my school fees payment has just been confirmed, I haven’t collected my cas because I just started counting my 28 days from today, the money in my account was disrupted because of something very important..... I wrote the school already if they could give me few weeks because of my visa application.... please advise me what can I dohuhhuh?
February 1 is about 28days from now and if you just started counting for SOA then it makes it kind of tight. But here’s what I can advice, confirm from your school when lectures will resume. For some schools, it’s 2weeks after start date (because they use the first 2weeks for orientation and all that). If that’s the case it gives you extra time. Also you can confirm when is the last arrival date as they can give extra weeks while you attend classes online.

The first option will lead you to priority and it’s sibling (super priority) while the second option will keep you on standard application depending on available weeks. Whatever option you go with, just try to be calm and not lose your mind.

Regards

Alright
Under fiat market, select GBP

Sell btc for GBP

Head to withdrawal, select fiat u will then see your available currencies for withdrawal( in this case u will see naira and GBP)

Select GBP and setup your receiving account details. END

If i understood you, u thought your available naira will be converted to pounds, I don't think so. It's treated like a coin on binance
Since there is no GBP/NGN ticker, u hv to trade your naira for any assets under the GBP market like btc and and sell the assets for GBP, then withdraw the GBP to your British Bank account

I hope this is helpful
100% correct, was trying to see possibility of just sending from naira. But this is fine. Thanks bro.

The 1st time I performed a withdrawal, and I noticed it took a longer time(close to an hr) before I received it in my monzo account, subsequent withdrawals were seemless, if u just performed the transaction just give it sometime, I hope u didn't do big money move?
Thing is I have not done any withdrawal. I am just testing it while I am waiting for my Monzo card to be delivered. I selected cash as my withdraw option. To withdraw, after I change currency to GBP, I noticed that the available balance is showing zero when I selected GBP unlike when you select naira and it will show the naira available and you select the amount you want to withdraw.

Please can you explained how you did yours. The process used. Thanks man

To add my 2cents on the Binance platform, you can also do this (if you are not already aware):

1. On the platform, buy a crypto (USDT / BUSD / BTC / Ethereum etc.) with the Naira
2, Go to Trade, then P2P, change the currency at the top right hand corner from NGN / xx currency to GBP
3. Since you intend to sell the crypto for GBP, switch to Sell at the top left corner; this will bring peers that want to trade with you.
4. Look for a peer with a rate you are comfortable with, and one that has executed trades, then transact.
5. Transactions can be done through Paypal or Bank transfer.

I have done it a few times without issues and i was comfortable with the rate at the end. This is just an advice though wink
Thanks man. I love the fact that u used red at the end. Hehehehe. We both know y...thanks my brother
