Each time an installation comes online my mind is blown. We take time to do load calculations and plan but when the lights come on and things work as planned I marvel.
We were given three weeks from the day they asked what we could do to delivery.

We did not meet the time line. However after many faux pas here we are. My mind is totally blown this time. You can hear the relief in my voice.

I have not yet seen your Pylontech issues video but in my experience with Pylons the BMS positively disconnects after 54v.

Perhaps a combo of factors created a failure mode despite the BMS's efforts e.g Pylons paired with charger in open loop without comms, the BMS will always request the chargers to throttle charge rate from 0.5C to 0.1C once the SoC approaches/passes 90%. Without comms, the charger cannot heed this instruction and may keep passing larger than required amounts of current and ......

Havings comms between BMS and inverters/chargers is absolutely critical especially when deploying an aggressive design e.g large PV array with small battery bank, large loads and large inverter. I know that Schneider finally implemented Pylontech comms with their latest inverters, I don't know if that passed on to SCP and solar chargers as well. If one must do open loop, then one must set the parameters conservatively bearing in mind worst case scenarios and deployed equipment quirks and limitations.

Schneider has yet to update the older inverters. This setup is an open loop following the parameters as sent to us by Schneider for Pylontech batteries. The array is not overly big and the failure occurred on a cloudy morning. The BMS would normally limit charge which I have seen on an inverter that we remotely reset. It defaulted to lead acid and charged as a lead acid battery. The pylontech BMS managed it fairly well. The board would at worse case fail and the battery would not operate. This is not what happened here. We are waiting to hear back from Pylontech before we replace the batteries.

Go online u will see Lead acids on fire. I have client who installed his lead acids in a generator house for fear of "in case of in cacity". Is like avoiding to drive a car just bc a neighbour's car had an accident.

We had a lead acid battery explode and it was caused by a faulty Schneider Charge controller.
The reason we switched from DIY to manufactured batteries was to prevent what happened. The BMS is designed to prevent what happened. The card would fail or the protections will kick in. It did not happen here. We followed instructions from Schneider Electric and Pylontech to the T and this happened. The supplier is in shock and has yet to figure our why it happened. We have sent them videos and pictures.

Please believe that there is no innuendo or sarcasm here but by your own accounting on your youtube channel you have had installs of various products catch on fire and ruined a number of battery brands.

In recent memory, I recall you had trouble with Deye inverters bricked, Nissan leaf swollen and Weco batteries ruined with the root causes 'to be determined'.

These issues, fires, failures may have nothing to do with the products themselves but with the deployment methods used or the demands placed on the products.

If you are able to share the root cause analysis results for the Pylontech issues or another fire incident then this would be very good.

It would help if you watched the videos to the end. You already reached conclussions and now you are asking fro root cause abi? Well done.

Before LifePo4 wud result in fire, it mean it has bn overly and extremely abused. At 45 to 60 degrees.

We had two Pylontech batteries catch on fire. And we still can tell why. Massive cell level failure
