Yo, It is not a crime not to have a boy friend, you should remember however that you cannot eat your cake and have it. You see there is a huge competition going on out there everyday, people jostle for the best genes to raise good kids. Relationships are supposed to be practice matches for the main game in your life which is marriage, IF YOU ARE SO INCLINED! Its a personal choice, stick with it. Do not expect however that someone, tall dark handsome and loving working in chevron or shell or total would be sitting at your gate and waiting for you to snap out of it and say hey I am ready for you. That's where you would be in for the shocker of your life, like it or not in Nigeria as time goes by especially for women (no pun intended) your "marketability" kinda drops. Not in the sense that you are no longer good enough but just like a 3rd class graduate, you would not even be given the chance. As you grow older also the pool of "good candidates" begin to narrow. You start to work, the number of men who have the chance to see you begins to diminish by the day. So take your time, but also do not throw away the lessons you have learned from your past relationships, that is what they are there for. My two cents. |
Is the OP for real or just a super story guy? |
Dear OP, I have been in your position before, funny enough it was a good learning curve for me. "You don't have a personal relationship with God" she says, and I thought something was wrong with me. I went to church prayed and prayed, begged God to not let her go but alas what happened? She still left, it was one of the many things that made me realize that prayers were fruitless. I decided to embrace my stance fully and gave no excuses for it. Today though, like someone said I have learned to watch who and whom I discuss my religious beliefs with. I am not stupid enough to be fighting for any cause so I just shut my mouth when I am surrounded by bible touting Christians, I learned that to explain your position you have to gauge the level of intelligence of the person, and you have to pass your point as subtle as possible to the other person. I do not subscribe though to deceiving someone you want to share the rest of your life with. From the very onset before we do decide to go into anything just like checking your genotype I say hey this is what I believe and MOST IMPORTANTLY here is why. You must realize that by default people think you need church to have a moral code, this is where you explain to her what your own moral code is ( if you do not have one you need one ) and how you see the world. Like me I do not hug the lines closely on either side (being extremely good or being extremely bad), I say it how it is and what it is, the goal is do not deceive her, no matter what she has to know. You see more than anything else in the world we all want to be in relationships with people who first of all feel "accountable" to us, we want to be in relationships with people whose "word is their bond" regardless of tribe, religious beliefs etc. Having said that the world is not a perfect place, religion is so important to some people that they would not compromise on it. So expect people to run away, you also need to be careful to watch if her answer to you is based on the "running chemicals" in her head and be man enough to end it there and then. Do not also always expect that the fact that someone is not religious equates to the person being good enough and vice versa. In summary, there are good people and there are bad people, Christian - Muslim - Ifa worshipper - Yoruba - Hausa etc, you have to look if you would be a perfect match, if you can compliment that person and like wise the person complimenting you, I know for a fact that I cannot be in a relationship with myself or someone like me, its gets boring. |
ALL GLORY BE TO THE DOCTOR WHO CONDUCTED THE IVF PROCESS If to say ehn dey dey wait for God, ehn for die childless. Sad part is that the pastor wont come out and tell the truth. Many women will be there in his Church praying and fasting and 'tapping into his blessing', meanwhile the solution to their Problem is in a Hospital Lab. I am happy for the couple o! But glory should be given to the doctors not God. Praise the Doctor!!! Halleluyah!
BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA ![]() |
ogeelove: Hi everyone. I've been reading this book 'mere christianity' by c.s lewis. If ever one is confused about the basics of Christianity then this book is one to read. I find it refreshing that it does not feed me peoples notions but tells it as it is. E.g thou shall not steal means thou shalt not steal. And why should one not steal? becos we love GOD and we do not wish to cause other people pain and distress. I read the bible and attend church but alas I find that I am at odds with the teaching.I remember when I was confused. So many things made no sense, Christianity or religion I should say just has way too many contradictions. For a brain like mine that needs things to be in syntax nothing made sense to me. Thou shalt not steal you say, did you read further down to see the punishment for stealing was death? Read all sides of the story then make up your mind. There is no love at all in the old testament. |
Inesqor the truth bender, the only maradona of the religious section. Still waiting on how killing kids is a good thing as long as its so many years ago. ![]() |
InesQor: Mr Hostile Atheist-Agnostic,Inesqor, We are having a discussion young man not a kindergaten class where you have to give me answers that will be satisfactory. What is your position? Stop beating around the bush. |
Ihedinobi: Like I said, for someone whose policy is believe and let believe or whatever, your antagonism is quite interesting.Oga Ihe bin Laden, Homework? Vaccines? Alright kindly tell us for whose rewards this was for In the passage, the Jewish army have returned from conquering the Midianites, and Moses has gone down to meet them:You make me want to puke with your defense of a blood thirsty God whose general Moses managed to kill more people than the jews killed by Adolf Hitler without the use of fighter jets, bombs, guns and even extermination camps. This is just by using swords alone, if moses Had a Nuclear Bomb at his disposal........ |
InesQor: @Chrisbenogor:Sir Truth Bender, Who is the custodian of Morality? If man can in his feeble mind realize that the killing of an unarmed man is wrong why then would the almighty God who knew better not instruct his people in a rare show of how he knows the future more than we do not tell them not to kill innocent women and children. I am at a loss how anyone on earth can excuse such crass wickedness. If it was political fine I can say that, but for God to see it done by his General and forget to state in his book that this was not his handwork. Oh by the way, last I checked the bible was a religious book. |
Its funny how the new kid on the block suddenly understands Kung fu more than his sensei. ![]() |
Ihedinobi: My friend, let me explain something to you one last time, ok. I am not obliged by anything to give you any answer, neither is my Father. If you want our answer, you have to let us give it. You have not only asked the wrong questions, you have also given yourself the wrong answers and we cannot sign off on all that for you.Thats a nice way to say hey, that small child was disemboweled with a blunt sword because God ordered it, and wait the pain and screaming of that child was done with so much love when you see the big picture. And you dare blame boko haram or suicide bombers. Maybe Allah is the real God and maybe their suicide acts are borne out of the love God has for you before you convert to islam which is the big picture. #loadofhogwash. |
Diamond bank is what I would take, more opportunities for you the pay is not bad either for starters after getting confirmed is more than GTB last I checked. |
JeSoul: Indeed it is! I have not said anywhere that it isn't. I merely gave a simple analogy that is throwing you all off - and I'm not sure why.Not at all, plus we are talking about Christian forgiveness here my own definition does not matter. As a human being I can forgive people when they wrong me, I may or may not forget , depending on how much if my trust is betrayed I may or may not allow the person in my life. I forgive for myself and I don't hold grudges for myself. So tell me what Christian forgiveness entails in case I missed the versed that talked about magnum 357 and blowing brains. ![]() |
JeSoul:Well I think your analogy did not sound christ like at all. Forgiveness is the bed rock of Christianity how many parables did the lord give about it, the bible is awash of lines asking y'all to forgive. ![]() |
InesQor: I have no idea really, but I guess if he had directly done that, you will probably be asking another question todayGood that you have said no idea, you should have stopped there. On a more serious note I think the sacrifice of Christ was a symbolic event such that posterity will be able to refer to it. In the OT, they were used to sacrificing animals to cover for their sin so by extension this was to be the final sacrifice. An intelligent mind like yours should easily pick that this sounds more like what man would do and not God, killing Gods own creature and burning it sounds/smells to you like what a God intelligent enough to create this universe would want to appease him? Why sacrifice at all, just forgive mankind. Why send a flood? Kill innocent kids who had no choice but to not join noah cos their parents refused? Why not make all the bad guys disappear? Sidenote: I believe life on this earth is not all there is. So, someone dying in this life might not be such a big deal to God as long as the person did all that they were scheduled to have done here i.e. lived a "fulfilled" life. And in Jesus' case, I'll like to think he did. Then this is surely a bad way to design the earth, why would God hide and then let people like you speak for him? After designing such a terrific world he designs such a poor way to pass his message across? Seun Osewa would have done better with half of these powers. |
JeSoul: Interesting thread going here and wish I had more time to go through it thoroughly but...Haba Sister, But that is the whole idea of Christianity! This is why I say religion is unfair, you cannot eat your cake and have it. You cannot now use this as a justification to explain an all loving God's position it just makes God very vindictive. This does not even pass the test as you have been commanded in the bible to forgive, picking and choosing again! Haba! If God cannot forgive, then you expect jews who had six million of their brothers fathers husbands sisters killed by the mad man adolf hitler and all he has to do is say a prayer in his death bed and he is in heaven while the rest six million roast in hell? Kids inclusive? Yes it might be difficult, but if someone harms my family, his death suffering or what ever would not bring the person back thats a fact of life, for a christian I respect sincerely expected better. PS: WHAT THE HELL DID THE PERSON WHO SUGGESTED THIS DO TO WARRANT A BULLET AS WELL. |
@Inesqor I have a simple question, why did God not just forgive the world? |
All these people speaking for God and who God is and what God wants and what God does not like to see. Absolute bliss. |
Degis: No matter what you ignoramus contrive, God's Word standeth sure!. Let all Nairaland be filled with your lies, Frosbel, Goshen360, PastorKun your hell fire registration application has been delivered expressly. Your Welcome kit has already been prepared. Repent and accept The Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour so that your hell fire registration can be cancelledLwkmd which one be welcome kit for hell again? |
Reyginus: They are alive in the sense of functionality. But as long as a placenta bond is yet to be established, it cannot be said to have life. There in lies the problem, there is not on single definition for when a foetus growing inside a woman can be ascribed a person and given the rights of a human being. The only point where we would all agree is when that baby is born. |
Reyginus: It is more than what you think bro. You agree, a life is formed but not a person is killed. Isn't the definition of a person, a human being anymore? I don't see any difference. So what if a woman has an ectopic pregnancy that would kill her, do we leave her to die along with the foetus? Or terminate the pregnancy? |
@frosbel Herd mentality, people are not willing to change. My pastor just said his tithe is seven figures . Atm machines are installed in the church, pos terminals for those who did not come with money. All this coming in tax free ![]() |
Reyginus: We're getting somewhere. What is life? Who determines when life has commenced? |
Nice thread, bros mazaje I hail. @inesqor (the last truth bender ) Nwokem, surely you do realise the pressure was more on the early Christians who had the job of interpreting these old books to fit the story of the Jesus. Paul was the first yahoo yahoo guy ever, I nor trruss am at all. |
Chaz b was terrible at what he did, Nigerians and their need for mediocrity. |

BetaThings: Great. Christians celebrate Christmas and Muslims their Eid. So why will the hijab cause any disaffection?During my early career I once worked where there was compulsory prayers for everyone by 7 in the morning, I never subscribed to it. For that I would fight with any Muslim to make sure their religious rights were not being infringed upon. This is different, there is a dress code and wearing the hijab violates this code. Let us make this more practical, if I have a restaurant and a muslim works there as a waitress I would expect them to be neatly dressed in a particular way. If they have to work there that's how they would be dressed, after work on your way home you can cover your face for all I care. The beauty of democracy is that things are not by force, if you do not want your child to attend that school surely there are many other schools where this would be allowed no? And not allowing muslims wear it is actually suppressing the rights of MuslimsI disagree with this, muslims have not be stopped from wearing it, these are the lines you use to argue when you want to elicit an emotional response from your fellow muslim brothers and I must say this is wrong. This is not a fight against islam, its a simple fight for democracy and the rule of law. No religion is bigger than the constitution of Nigeria. But would you be offended if you truly see a bare chested girl in school? According to your arguments her religious rights are enshrined in the constitution no? I know you would not, so people have come up with a STANDARD that all students should wear! How hard is this to understand In Saudi Arabia, Christian or not, a grown female will be forced to wear the Hijab, in as much as that is a blatant violation of their right to practice religion, when I find myself in that society I would CONFORM! if I dont like it I would leave that simple! But within the confines of that country you do as they do. Would you really tell an employer of labour that Christmas is inconsequential and he should force his staff to come to work?Inconsequential, hell no they should practice for all I care, just not in my establishment. Again this is not and intrusion of your religion. |
BetaThings: Secularism implies that the government is neutral. It will not promote any religion while it will not suppress any other. The government should be neutral and that is what I am clamoring for here, the federal republic of Nigeria cannot/should not celebrate Christmas, the Christians in Nigeria would celebrate Christmas. No religion should be promoted or suppressed I agree as well, we do not live in utopia, I understand that nothing can be perfect but let us not derail ourselves here we are talking about a Hijab in a public school. The freedom on all of us to practice our religion ends where we infringe on others rights to either practice that or when it is in conflict with fundamental human rights as agreed by all. Hijab is compulsory on the wearerIf I might put things in perspective for you, as strongly as you feel about the Hijab, there is someone out there that feels strongly about her twin peaks of sheba inspiring the men around her, compulsory or not to your religion is irrelevant and inconsequential, what is important is within the rules and the confines of what this public school has stated is the dress code before you signed your ward up. I respect that the Hijab wearer feels it is compulsory, no problem. Should that now mean that she should be given a special preference because her religion dictates so? Surely not! If there is an already agreed laid down rule in the school of what a constitutes a uniform, no one should be exempt. If you feel your Hijab is compulsory to wear then go a school where it is allowed as part of the uniform its that simple. Going to school does not change the fact that public n-udity is an abberation. Please leave it out. Most societies everywhere encourage people to dress up to varying degrees of conservatism. Would you really liken the communities in Brazil who still go around virtually in the n-ude to Catholic nuns?My friend, an aberration in society is determined by that society, it goes back to what I say is the collective decision of everyone to say hey I would not like to see this in public space, so we all come together to agree simples. If we all agree what a school uniform should be then thats what it should be no preferences to anyone at all. We also know that some members of the armed forces don't wear uniformI do not know what you mean about uniforms or beards in uniform. There is nothing remotely creative about these arguments, your right to practice your religion ends where it begins to infringe on the rights of others to either practice theirs or when it violates a laid down rule or law simple. That a person worships a deity that requires human sacrifice would be arrested for murder if he kills anyone in the name of his deity religion or not. |
Richfella: You miss the whole point of the other article.Men are not aroused in the same way as women, Men do not have to carry a baby for nine months, Men do not have monthly periods, Men do not have to be on "heat" they are ready to go 24/7. Women only get Hot while ovulating? Are you serious? Lol. Women get massively aróused by core masculinity 24/7 - all year roundNwokem dont make me laugh which masculinity? Derenle? The average man is targeted on a daily basis by the regular mgbeke on the street, skinny jeans designed to make the waist bigger, slapping fake pockets on nearly see through tights so they dont have to wear anything to cover their bums. We fight a serious war every single day we go out there just to make a living. All men that do not cheat should be ordained saints ![]() |
InesQor: EDIT: ^^^ This knowledge of counterfactuals is an example of why I used the chess analogy earlier on. But for some reason that has not yet been described, some people on the thread find the analogy inappropriate.SMH and a limited human is here telling us how the love of the being is obligatory SMH |
