The risk is too much to take for them.
Ronaldo and messi controls 70% of football fans across the globe, if they move with the super league then UEFA will lose lots of millions on t.v rights..
Those asking how i arrived at the figures, check their social media powerness, shirt sold and revenue from just the to their respective clubs.
Their influence is just too much for UEFA to ignore. Also note that mancity alone defected this same UEFA in court so Perez will beat them hands down..

NB .UEFA was also formed this way after much criticism they all adapted. Give it time!!

From your two exchanges with me, I can see you are sincere about building an alliance. I have nothing against that, but when your people start casting aspersions on well meaning Igbos, it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, especially with the Igbo collective experience of the last 60s.
Look at a wonderful writeup by one Rudulf Okonkwo, yet some of your people will come here to piss on his noble opinions, and as though that is not destructive enough, they start labeling people like Ojukwu that fought for Igbo survival, some ingrate referring to him as a coward, and you expect me, in whose family there exists many ex-Biafran soldiers and commandos, to stomach it? Iyasikwa.

Alliances and strategies are always a good thing, but it is sweeter if the alliance is with a group of noble and principled people. Just be noble and principled, and the Igbos will listen to you and ally with you. It's as simple as that
the issue I have is with both sides . If you ask the igbos they will have something to say likewise the yorubas. I have studied the history and antecedent of both sides . They were both played. They both failed to agree that part of their history. Both sides wants to insist they are both justified in their stance.i really feel torn between both sides. They both complement each other in the real sense of it. They both have the potential to turn the black race into something else whatsoever you blame one for check the other as done it time over. If they both choose to go it alone.I am certain they will fail. Cause the forces that have over time chosen to see them arque over things that are inconsequential will always be at it. It's been like that. If igbos say let's go to river Jordan we will find water.which is obvious the yorubas will say no let's go to the dead sea. If the yorubas say let's go to Lebanon for cedar the igbos will say no let's go to Egypt. When you sit down and look critically you will discover that the disagreement is been sold to our greedy bunch of political elites who are feeding fat on the collective wealth of their people.and serving their puppet master's.
I will always work for such handshake across the Niger
Let me tell one fact that can break the whole stuff. Take 2023 for example. The southerners are already being sold a dummy. Tinubu for example is not reading the whole writing on the wall. I support ayo adebanjo. Tinubu should work towards ensuring a president of south east extraction. They know what they want giving a Yoruba man the slot changes nothing on ground. They are well entrench 8 years changes nothing .that we have learnt from Jonathan and obj. seeding that slot to a candidate backed by the entire south of eastern extraction would signal the birth of a powerful block. They need the south than what the south knows

Who doesn't know that alliances are always needed, but if your people disrespect my people and hope they will get away with it, they are making a huge mistake.

By the way, Igbos didn't do too well the last time around, because European nations backed Nigeria materially. Igbos really have the mental fortitude to go one on one against the whole of Nigeria and still win, because they will be prepared this time.
Of course, it becomes easier if others join up, Yorubas inclusive.

yes but some would ,and courtesy demands you provide a bit of hospitality for your guest. It's a natural order. Even in time memorial, eko and akara or ego are provided. To me it's fraudulent to collect 20k for asso ebi. Yorubas specialise in kneeling before their juniors and begging for their lives. Oladipo Diya, Adisa and co know what I'm referring to.
Ogundipe ran away when a junior Hausa officer refused to obey his order. He was not threatened at all, and yet he ran away.
The whole Nigerian army was looking for Ojukwu to kill him and he outwitted them and escaped. Ogundipe disguised himself like a transvestite and disappeared, even though no one was looking for him.

Between Ojukwu and Diya, who's the coward?

Between Nnamdi Kanu and Ogundipe who is the coward?
both you and the yorubas against an alliance between both group are foolish people who never learn from history. The north could not have won without the west. Translate to the fact that the east would never win without the western support. It shows the west is important which also brings us to the point that the west cannot win without the support of the eastern part due to the same factor that affected the east against the north. No one is expecting Yoruba to fight, my friend. Yoruba and audacity or bravery are mutually exclusive scenarios. If it were Hausa, it's a different ball game, but Hausa are already conquered. Apart from the Jukuns and Igbo-led Eastern Region, no other group has what it takes to resist Fulani domination. Your question should be, "Can Nigeria contend With Another Crisis in The Eastern Region?" considering that the north is already nearly overrun by bandits (approved) and Boko Haram (partly approved).
the issue is not if yourbas are willing. The very nature of yorubas eschew strife and bitterness.they tend to see violence as the last result .Which must be sanctioned by their elders..
That's why you hardly see much inter community violence amongst them. Any fight must be collectively agreed upon.its traditional.its in their DNA .Their leaders must collectively agree and come out to direct them. Check their history.
The issue is the so called leaders. The igbos on the other hand don't really care much about leaders as long as they feel such as been compromised.
Yoruba leaders are seeing the handwriting on the wall
The funny thing from their history (yorubas) is when they turn on such kind of leaders .they would be seen as worthless.some are already towing that part

Smh. With the way extremist yoruba Christians and Muslims are posturing already, seems the future of a united yoruba country may not be so bright afterall. It is as if they have submitted their brains to the alter of religious dogmatism and extremism. I am a Yoruba Christian man successfully married to a Yoruba Muslim woman for over 20yrs and blessed with 4 beautiful children without any issues whatsoever. But the crop of yoruba extremists from both religions are making me question the future harmony of the race, be it within Nigeria or as an independent country. We must never give religion too much power over our lives as a people, or else we are doomed as a people. Aboro lan so fun Omoluabi.
You are very correct. For any success to be recorded ,Yoruba nation must be a secular state. The day they allow a religious edict would be the downfall of such .I have christians and Muslims in my family ,I can not envision enacting a law based on muslim basis or Christian one. What about the traditionalist who would want their own law that might be contrary to the other religions, who would Carter for them

I was born and still resides in the north. The Yoruba ethos of religious tolerance is more than that.

I have a Christian sister whose daughter now resides with my mother. Her name is Esther. Her dad and mom are Christians buts since she has been living with more mother for years, she dressed in a big hijab and perform every act of worship of a Muslim. Both of her parents have no problem with her choices. Yorubas are that liberal.
once again ,you are wrong. Personal choices are different from collective institutionalization. That Esther chooses to perform ablution is her personal choice which Christianity respects . however it's not the case with Islam. A muslim who chooses to renounce Islam is termed an apostate. Which is frowned upon seriously ,mind you she is in the north.
The core of our respective peace in Yoruba land is because we have always lived and cherished our secularism, that's is why you can have a Christian family member who wishes to take gulder or kasapreko drink without you bothering.its because no religion as been giving state backing. The day such happens ,we will start seeing the rift in the south west.ots common sense.let me give you an example. If your religion frowns against the use of alcohol ,and a law was instituted to reflect that. The ogun worshiper uses alcohol as part of it own religious activities and daily need.you have infringed on his Rights. I might decided to take alcohol for medicinal purposes, your religion is infringing ony right. Secularism is the best.Any country founded on religious basis would end up suppressing the rights of other. The yazzidi's were presecuted in Syria, also christians in Pakistani are suffering the same. All because they are the minority.
Secularism separates the state from religion.laws are made for the common good other people not on religious considerations. If you give christians the opportunity to make laws they will ensure they make that which is favourable to them.likewise the Muslims or the traditionalist. They only way is to ensure a secular state deviod of religious sentiment

I'm from a town with a predominantly Muslim population and will still have relatives that are Christians. Live and let live is the true Omoluabi ethos. Religions will always play second fiddle no matter how hard the Pentecostal churches and Salafist element tries.
