Who are the unpatriotic elements? Those who are tired of being killed by murderous herdmen? Those who are tired of the nepotism of the umpire in charge? Those who hate being dragged back by the unworkable system? Those who believe in equity, justice and egalitarianism?

And the patriots in your definition are those who daily institutionalize nepotism, those who aid, provide protection and supply ammunition to the killer herdsmen? Those who do not share the principle of equity and justice?

You see, being political erodes the sense of objectivity all the times.
both of you have you points. But my own take is Nigeria with all it's potential can only be achieved based on Fairness, justice which can repair the trust. Any below that those clamoring would be right , but if we can come to the level of Fairness and justice. Nigeria would become the greatest country out of black Africa. The Nigeria constitution needs to be changed. That's the only way we can all be happy and have a prosperous country where no one is limited by the other in attaining his or her God given potential.

Fifteen of the Seventeen Governors from the Southern Geopolitical Zones had converged on Asaba last week in what will be a first of its kind meeting, to deliberate on security issues as it affects the zone.

Amongst others as contained in the 12-point Communique, the Southern Governors resolved the immediate ban on open grazing all over Southern Nigeria; a decision that has dominated discussions nationwide.

this is the Problem with we in the southern part of the country,we are underachievers. The Northerners Spend their small allocations in trying to uplift their people, while an average southern politician thinks of how to Impoverish their own people. I have said it umpteen time, they spend money sending their people out to foreign countries for quality education, while we have successfully destroyed our scholarship boards. Time will tell.

so when talking breaking away from Nigeria, Bendel have what it takes to form a country of their own.

So Edo's and Deltans don't be moved we have what it takes to be a nation considering our historical oneness.

fairness, equity and oneness and peaceful co-existence
between and among its peoples with a focus on the attainment of shared goals for economíc development and prosperity;
These is the only basis for the continual existence of Nigeria. its what i have always stated

I understand your point. But you see, this country cannot grow or move forward unless leadership is gotten on merit and not based on North or South or where you are from. Atiku is prepared for the presidency unlike previous presidents. Let's give him a chance to unify this country and make all of us proud Nigerians again.
so in a population of 200m ,only 1 man is prepared? hmmmm

Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Replies Olu Okeowo: Is The SouthWest Just Area Boys & Fake Pastors? by chrisblack: 9:00pm On May 11, 2021
Simplyleo:

On this, Reno is 100% correct and I agree with him for the first time.

But Reno should be ready to take insults from those people developing the universe with their imaginary education. cheesy
Reno is not 100% correct?

1. "And it is highly ignorant to say that the Southwest depends on other regions for electricity. Not true. The Southwest has Papalanto, Olorunsogo 1 and 2, Egbin Thermal Power station, and Omotosho 1 and 2"
Mr Okeowo is Correct. All the power plants stated above are all powered by gas brought in by pipelines from the Niger Delta and Mind you with all their combined capacity they cant provide upto 40% of what is needed in by the southwest.

2.In terms of commodities, the Southwest is Nigeria’s cocoa and cassava heartland and competes with Benue as the yam centre of Nigeria.
Over the years we have continually lost our dominance in the area of cocoa.it baffles me to see that it's only in the southwest cocoa plantations are been cleared and turned into layouts for new buildings, what is the essence of producing high quantities of cassava and the effect is not felt by the immediate populace. the cost of garri is beyond the reach of the poor southwesterners.

3" the Southwest has one of the most viable assets in Nigeria-ports. Tin Can Island port, and the Lagos Port Complex, are the gateways to Nigeria’s commerce"
.Yes for now we have the ports, but what stops others from building theirs in the nearest future?

4.When you add the fact that the Southwest has the most developed infrastructure in Nigeria, and that her industrial capacity is more than the industrial capacity of the rest of Nigeria combined (it will shock you to note that Ikeja Local Government Area and Agbara Industrial estate alone, consume more electricity than the entire Northwest, or that Alaba International Market generates almost $7 billion annually), you begin to understand that that statement by Mr. Okeowo is fallacious.I partially disagree with Reno to some extent. Looking at the so-called infrastructure.less than 10% is properly developed if we are to judge by the standard of what is on the ground. Awolowo laid a solid foundation for us but we messed it up.some of our state capitals have nothing to show as developments.go around to various local governments and see how backward they are.

"Lagos state has a bigger internal economy than Kenya or Ghana. If Lagos state were a country on its own, she would have the 7th largest economy in Africa with a GDP of over $100 billion (compared to $95 billion for Kenya and $67 billion for Ghana). Yes i agree with this, but the fact remains lagos is still backward compared to cities of its class around the world. there are more places in lagos that are worse than some villages. For over 20yrs we have been celebrating mediocre development spent more than 14yrs building a railway track that in sdtill in the work, Touts been elevated to positions of relevance and influence. Our teaming youths see no benefit in education due to the fact that the majority of those who have gotten the substandard education ended up being subservient to touts.

And funny enough, most people do not even know that the Southwest has oil in commercial quantity in both Ondo and Lagos. What has been the impact of such finds?

"So, it was very flippant and ignorant for Mr. Olu Okeowo to have badmouthed his own region so badly. Whose script is he acting? I do not know." He is not badmouthing is region but stating the obvious fact. We keep deceiving ourselves. we are leaving on past glory.

"I am not agitating for the division of Nigeria. However, to say that if Nigeria divides, the Southwest will suffer, is utter nonsense. I had previously thought Olu Okeowo was vacuous. But now, I am sure of it"
Reno in as much as i respect your take on some issues , I will disagree on these. I know in your heart if you truly love the Yorubas, you will tell us the truth. We have over the years retrogress if we are to compare ourselves based on what awolowo left behind.I agree Nigeria as composed had its effect, but the bulk of the blame belongs to us

"But why would a man of Southwest origin misrepresent his own region and people so badly?"He is not misrepresenting the southwest, rather he is drawing our attention to its rot and why we urgently need to stop the retrogression
Politics / Re: Yoruba Christain Vs Yoruba Musilm. by chrisblack: 4:41pm On May 11, 2021

Without Nigeria, Yorubas will eat themselves alive through internal civil war between Christians and Muslims and other sub-groups marginalising themselves. The same would applies to igbos and other tribes North and South. In Biafra that includes the SS tribes, igbos would dominate and marginalize the smaller minority tribes. Buhari has shown that lack of leadership is the root cause of division. Atiku is coming to change all that in 2023, Insha Allah. If Atiku doesn't win in 2023, things will only become far worse for us all. Nigeria is what is holding us all together.
So the presidency is now the property of a particular ethnic group. from a northerner to another northerner, from a Fulani to another Fulani.?
why do you believe a southerner cannot do better. why do you believe an Igbo ,youruba, tiv,Ijaw ,Efik,Ibibio.Hausa, berom, bachama etc cannot do better. Nigeria belongs to everybody. No tribe should be seen as superior,We all have the right to love, live and fulfill our God-given opportunities within the country. tell me with what we have passed through and for the sake of fairness. Why do you think the position should not be rotated down south for fairness

IDENNAA:

And this is the problem with Africans; we want to be like the first world countries so bad we forget that there are steps that needs to be taken. How do you expect the lean budget to cover all sectors, equally. Everything is not competition.

What Anambra need was nothing but a simple airport of international standards that can serve the needs of her enterprising populace, and that's what Obiano delivered. No need for building an airport for 5-10 years, yet uncompleted.

But I gotta admit. That airport is quite sexy...lol. Simple but nice. I like it like that but I want to see an African-inspired artwork interiors. I want to see Anambra culture displayed.
you are quite right and I concur. Artistic rendering of the interior to reflect the culture of the state and to some extent other parts of the country and Africa at large would be welcomed. Tell would the Chinese be able to beat. It will be unique

Oshodi Bus Station vs Anambra International Airport Terminal building .......

(1)I see a state of the art in oshodi bus terminal

While the airport is just the Nigeria norm project

Why are some people just so stupid .what is the basis for comparison. the so called state of Art in Oshodi that a portion has been borrowed to Nurtw and touts? They have messed it up with touts sleeping and shitting there.
Kudos to Anambra for building her own Airport. the most important aspect is not the look of the structure, but its functionality and impact on its people. I don't know why many of my fellow Igbo brothers across the Niger, are not crediting Obiano. to me he is one of the best amongts a bunch of visionless lot. he tried to at least impact his people with people-oriented projects
