Princewell2012:

So what is the way forward? hmm the Bible should be applicable now since am a born again. That's the issue now.
The bible is being misinterpreted by many. Jesus spoke about the ideal institution of marriage. You are not meant to send away your wifves when you become a born again christian. Even in the new testament from the letter of paul will can be simply interpreted that when he was talking about the qualifications of a Bishop. He said a Bishop must be husband of 1 wife. From this we could understand that there were converts to christian faith that were with more than 1 wives. Jesus spoke about the intention of God from the very beginning alluding to The creation of eve for Adam. It was meant to be 1 man 1 wife, however due to our stuff neck we went out own way. My own personal conclusion is if the wives chooses to stay they can, but if they choose to leave on their own volition ,they can

On which verse of Quran can we find that? undecided
from hadith
Let's start with wikipedia
The question of permissibility of music in Islamic jurisprudence is historically disputed.[3] Imam al-Ghazzali, reported several hadith and came to the conclusion that music in and of itself is permitted, saying: “All these Ahadith are reported by al-Bukhari and singing and playing are not haram.” he also references a narration from al-Khidr, wherein a favorable opinion of music is expressed. Many scholars interpret the chapters of Luqman and Al-Isra in the Quran as evidence that music is haram,[4][5] although this is disputed by others who disagree.[6][7]

Those who do not allow music believe that Muhammad censured the use of musical instruments when he said: "There will be among my Ummah people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments".[8] Some dispute the authenticity of this hadith most notably Ibn Hazm al-Dhahiri.[9]

Notable people who have are regarded as having believed music is halal include Abu Bakr ibn al-Arabi, Ibn al-Qaisarani, Ibn Sina, Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, Rumi, Ibn Rushd, and Ibn Hazm.[citation needed][10][11]

A few minorities hold that music is forbidden generally with varying exceptions, typically women playing the Daf, a traditional one sided drum, at celebrations and festivals.[12] Many Sufi orders use music as part of their worship.[13]

According to some authorities, Islam does allow singing without musical accompaniment within prescribed circumstances—namely that the performer be of the same gender as the audience (which generally has no basis)[7] there is a well-known hadith in which two small girls were singing to a woman,[14] and the Prophet Muhammad instructed Abu Bakr to let them, stating, "Leave them Abu Bakr, for every nation has an Eid (i.e. festival) and this day is our Eid."[15]

Iran Edit
Main article: Music of Iran
Based upon the authentic Twelver ahadith, numerous Iranian Grand Ayatollahs; Sadiq Hussaini Shirazi, Mohammad-Reza Golpaygani, Lotfollah Safi Golpaygani, Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi, Ahmad Jannati and others, ruled that all music and instrument playing is haram, no matter the purpose.[16][17][18] Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini held similar religious position, stating on 23 July 1979: “If you want independence for your country, you must suppress music and not fear to be called old‐fashioned. Music is a betrayal of the nation and of youth.”[19] During the Iranian Revolution, Khomeini said: "...music is like a drug, whoever acquires the habit can no longer devote himself to important activities. We must completely eliminate it."[20] From 1979 to 1989, all the music on radio and television was banned except occasional “revolutionary songs” that were performed in a strong martial style.[21] After Khomeini's death, reformist Rafsanjani and Khatami administrations gradually lifted the ban on music. The current supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, in 2014 has stated his admiration of Western music,[22] and nowadays music is officially permitted in Iran by the government as long as it is either Iranian folk music, Iranian classical music, or Iranian pop music.[23]

Now read and be enlightened
The Religion of Islaam has made clear the prohibition of Music, as is clear from the Qur'aan, ahaadeeth of the Messenger peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him and the understanding of the Companions may Allaah be pleased with them, when all three are taken together.

From the Qur'aan:

Allaah says, what means: "Do you marvel at this statement, and laugh and do not weep, while you amuse yourselves [proudly] in vanities ? Rather, prostrate before Allaah and worship Him [alone]." [Surah An-Najm (The Star) Verse 59 to 62 ]

According to Ibn Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him, the word 'saamidoon' in this verse refers to the mushrikeen's habit of singing and playing music noisily whenever they heard the Qur'aan being recited, in order to drown out the reciters voice so that others wouldn't hear it.

Also, Allaah says (regarding Satan) what means: "'And excite any of them whom you can with your voice. Assault them with your cavalry and infantry, be a partner with them in their wealth and children, and make them promises.' But Satan promises them nothing except deceit." [Surah Al-Isra (The Journey by Night) Verse 64]

Some of the taabi'een such as ad-Dahhaak and Mujaahid interpreted Satan's exciting mankind with his voice to mean through the use of music, song and amusement. Ad-Dahhaak said it was the sound of wind instruments. However according to Ibn Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him, the voice mentioned in the verse refers to every form of invitation which calls to the disobedience of Allaah the Exalted, which seems to be the most correct interpretation.

Finally, Allaah says what means: "And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allaah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allaah, the Verses of the Qur'aan) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire)." [Surah Luqman (Prophet Luqman) Verse 6]

Ibn Masood may Allaah be pleased with him said about this verse "I swear by the One other than Whom there is no God that it refers to singing [ghinaa].", and he repeated this three times. Ibn Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him said it referred to 'singing and the like' while Jaabir may Allaah be pleased with him is reported to view its meaning to signify singing and listening to songs. Many taabi'oon such as Mujaahid, Ikrimah, Mak-hool and Umar ibn Shu'ayb viewed it as a censure of music and song.

From the ahaadeeth of the Messenger peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him :
Contrary to the commonly held belief, there are a number of authentic narrations from the Prophetic Sunnah which clearly point to the indisputable fact that music, instruments, singing to accompaniment, etc. are objects prohibited by the Islaamic Sharia. The exceptions to this general rule are specific , limited types of innocent singing or chanting without any instrumental accompaniment or to the accompaniment of a simple hand drum (daff) on certain occasions designated by the sunnah.

Unfortunately, many Muslims entertain the misconception that all the ahaadeeth relating to music, singing and musical instruments are either weak (da'eef) or forged (mawdoo') - a position that is untenable.

The Narration of al-Bukhaaree:
The Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said : "There will be [at some future time] people from my Ummah who will seek to make lawful fornication, the wearing of silk, wine drinking and the use of musical instruments [ma'aazif]. Some people will stay at the side of the mountain and when their shepherd comes in the evening to ask them for his needs, they will say : 'Return to us tomorrow'. Then Allaah will destroy them during the night by causing the mountain to fall upon them, while He changes others into apes and swine. They will remain in such a state until the Day of Resurrection." al-Jowhari, the author of the ancient dictionary 'as-Sihaah', asserts that ma'aazif signifies musical instruments, al-'aazif indicates one who sings, and the 'azf of the wind is its voice..

Az-Zabeedi also says that ma'aazif are instruments of leisure which are drummed upon or played, like the loot ('ood) , the drum (tanboor), the small hand drum (daff) or other such musical objects.

Ibn Hajar in Fathul-Baaree relates that 'azf is also used to describe singing (ghinaa).

This authentic hadeeth clearly establishes the prohibition of music and singing and this in itself is sufficient for the one who really wishes to see the Truth of the affair. However there are other authentic narrations on the subject that we quote below.

The Narration of Ibn Maajah :
The Messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said : "A people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name. Merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of female singers. Allaah will cleave the earth under them and turn others into apes and swine."
This hadeeth has also been narrated by al-Bayhaaqi and ibn Asaakir, and has been authenticated by the renowned scholar of hadeeth Ibn al-Qayyim.

Narrations of Ahmed bin Hanbal :
The Messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said : "Verily Allaah prohibited wine, gambling and al-koobah; and every intoxicant is prohibited." Sufyan said : " I asked the narrator, Ali bin Badheemah, ' What is al-Koobah?' He answered, 'It is the drum'."

The Messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said : "Verily Allaah has prohibited for my Ummah wine, gambling, a drink distilled from corn, the drum and the lute; while He supplemented me with another Prayer, the witr"

The Narration of Haakim and Others :
That the Messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said : "Verily I did not prohibit weeping [per se], but rather I forbade two voices [sowtayn] which are imbecilic [ahmaq] and sinfully shameless [faajir]: one a voice [singing] to the accompaniment of musical amusement [lahw] and Satan's [wind] instruments; the other, a voice [wailing] due to some calamity, accompanied by striking of the face and tearing of garments. But this [weeping off mine] stems from compassion, and whosoever does not show compassion will not receive it."
This hadeeth is graded Hasan, and has been strengthened by other narrations.

The Narration of Abu Bakr ash-Shaafi'ee : Anas bin Maalik may Allaah be pleased with him related from the Prophet peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him that "two cursed sounds are that of the [wind] instrument [mizmaar] played on the occasion of joy and grace, and woeful wailing upon the occurrence of adversity."

These narrations should prove sufficient to show the illegality of music and singing to musical accompaniment to the one "has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful." [Surah Qaf Verse 37].

From the statements of the Companions may Allaah be pleased with them :
The Sahaabah may Allaah be pleased with them were the best people after the Messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, and best understood the deen of Islaam as they understood it directly from the Messenger peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him. The ijmaa' (consensus) of the Sahaabah may Allaah be pleased with them is therefore binding upon the Muslim Ummah, as is the complete consensus of any generation of scholars on a certain religious issue.

The Companions may Allaah be pleased with them unanimously agreed upon the prohibition of music and song but allowed particular exceptions specified by the authentic sunnah.

In the preceding sections we have already quoted some of the Sahaabah such as Ibn Masood and Ibn Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with them. This was also the view of the Four Rightly Guided Khulafaa and the fuqahaa from amongst the Sahaabah may Allaah be pleased with them.

PlatformTimes:
. .. urges Buhari to use last ten days to seek for Allah's guidance over insecurity

Tunde Seriki, the Chief Executive Officer of Sultan Music international in Chicago has used the holy month of Ramadan to feed Muslims in Lagos, Ogun and Osun states.

Seriki who has used his Sultan music established about two decades ago to send many musicians including the likes of Wasiu Ayinde, Late Barrister, Shina Akoni, among other notable artists abroad, donated food items which include rice, beans, flours to Muslim communities in the three states.

It would be recalled that Tunde Seriki through his foundation, Tunde Seriki Foundation had during the lockdown provided foods items and money for the masses so as to cushion the effect.

He has however come in new style as he donated large food items to the Muslims living in Mushin, isolo, and Ijora Badiya area of Lagos State.

The promoter cum philanthropist also gave food items to Sulike Abiola Quranic school in Abiola way area of Abeokuta.

The United state based promoter further gave food items to Muslim community in Ifon area in Osun State.

Speaking on the essence of the gesture, Tunde Seriki explained that his foundation is doing this to encourage Muslim communities during ten Ramadan period.

He noted that there is need to support Muslims that are fasting with food items so that they can have rest of mind to pray.

He however advised Muslims to use the last ten days of Ramadan to pray for the development and peace of Nigeria.

Similarly, the philanthropist urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use the last ten days of Ramadan to seek for Allah's guidance on how to tackle insecurity in the country.

Seriki who complained that the country is being face with high insecurity challenges charged the president to seek to Allah's intervention.

"I also want to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to use the last ten days to pray for the country and also to seek the face of Allah so that he can give him insight to know the way out of the insecurity in the country.

"The insecurity wanted to spoil the good name President Buhari built for years. He need to pray seriously during this period to seek for divine intervention."

contradiction. His religion frowns at music or musical entertainment of any such. Using money from such enterprise to give out food during such period of ramadan should be Haram. I stand to be corrected.

You definitely right. For instance, jesus said, “Or what king, going out to wage war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?” (Lk. 14:31). Jesus also said, “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his castle, his property is safe” (Lk. 11:21). Jesus seems to recognize that war and force projection are sometimes justified.

PLEASE IF YOU HAVE NEVER RISEN UP TO DEFEND YOUR LAND AGAINST FULANI HERDSMEN TERRORIST AND THEIR SOPHISTICATED WARRANT EMIRS KEEP YOU ADVICE AWAY FROM SOUTH EAST......
You are totally wrong. And that is not true. Read below:
Pacifism
Pacificists believe that Christians are never called to exert force that might lead to death in order to maintain civil or military authority. In the Sermon on the Mount (Mt 5:38-48) Jesus tells us how we should respond to our enemies. He advocates a loving response to those who plan evil things against us, most poignantly expressed in praying for them. And why? In this passage Jesus gives us two reasons. God showers blessing indiscriminately on his friends and foes alike and so should we (v45). And in order to be witnesses to the genuineness of his love in us, we need to separate our duty to love others from the expectation of personal gain or relief from discomfort (v46).

So this seems clear. As Christians, we cannot expect to establish God’s kingdom through physical force and we need to reject any temptation to retaliate in an attitude of revenge when threatened with physical force ourselves. Most Pacifists would rest their case there.

The ‘Just War’ criteria
However, others believe that limited force is required at certain times, to deal with both internal and external potential threats to peace and justice. The biblical case for this comes from Romans 13:4 where God’s instated authorities have permission to bear the sword within their society.1 When the threat is external, this force should be limited to ensure that only a ‘just war’ is fought. The following criteria were developed in the middle-ages to help individuals and authorities assess whether war was ‘just’; and thereby to limit war wherever possible:

Engaging in war

By a legitimate authority
As a last resort (after an ultimatum and after all other avenues for resolution have been exhausted)
LWith just cause (God’s rules being broken)
With right motives (the restoration of God’s rules in a peaceful context)
Conducting war

Discriminate
Proportionate (use of minimum force wherever possible)
In any ‘just war’ assessment we are at the mercy of limited or inaccurate information. We simply have to make the wisest decision we can at the time with the knowledge we have and trust God’s grace. Often a war and its justness will evolve rapidly, as will the information open to us, so regular reassessment is essential.

Conclusion
There may be legitimate reasons for Christians to fight in a war based on a personal assessment of the justness of the situation and in this regard the ‘Just War’ criteria are an essential guide. Nowadays with wars changing rapidly in nature from day to day this assessment will have to be carefully based on all the available information, and repeated regularly. Taking part in a war should never be an excuse for hatred but rather an opportunity to love and pray for our enemies. Deciding that a war is no longer just will mean withdrawing from combat. In the middle of a war this will often be a courageous decision with huge personal consequences. Fighting on may be much easier. However, in all our actions we are ultimately answerable to our Lord and obedience to him must come first.
Simply put it's allowed in cases of existential threat to ones existence and way of life.
Mind you even the Romans did not stop the jews from their worship of their Religion.
However there is a threat to that with what is playing out

Waya attended Kaduna Polytechnic before he relocated to Abuja. There, he got his first break when he consulted for the company that built the Transcorp Hilton in the early 90s.

From then on, he became a known fixer for top politicians from the mid-90s to early 2000s and acquired a lot of money with which he made investments in the United Kingdom and several countries in Europe.

A top lobbyist, he has links with a slew of Nigerian elite across politics to business and has investments across several sectors including real estate, oil and hospitality.

Married to Eno Olafisoye (nee Udoh), Waya enjoys close relationship with former governors Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, James Ibori, and Lucky Igbinedion of Bayelsa, Delta and Edo states respectively among other politicians.

In November 2005, he was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in his North London home on charges of money laundering.

It was alleged that Waya played a big role in the bail process of fugitive Alamieyeseigha after a deposit of about £ 500,000 was made to secure bail for the ex-Bayelsa governor who later escaped to Nigeria.

In November 2008 after his UK ordeal, Waya was picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja for alleged impersonation and extortion.

The EFCC released him in December 2008 without pressing any charges against him.

Why are some of you just so daft. Printing of money is no big deal it happens everytime and in all countries of the world.Money is usually printed for some of these basic reasons. When some currencies are old or torn and needed to be replaced. For every Dollars or hard currencies earned the corresponding amount in naira is printed ,likewise for gold
E.g for every $1 earned.Nigeria can print the equivalent in Naira i.e #450.
The issue with the #60bn wahala is that ,it's not backed up by anything.either gold , commodities or foreign money.Your macro and micro economics must be right.
Conjuring money from thin air is a very bad economic principle, which ultimately leads to Hyper inflation. Let's pray it's not true. If true ,I sorry for Nigeria,we will just head down the Zimbabwe hole.

Engineer Dare Bankole has declared that the APC in Oke Ero local government area is as good as a dead horse . Oke ero local government is one of the council areas that was won by the people's Democratic party PDP in the last General elections.

Bankole said this while speaking at the recently concluded Reconcilation and Engagement committee meetings with critical PDP stakeholders in the council. The Aiyedun born Engineer who was one of the speakers at the meetings said there is no APC in Oke Ero except for agrieved PDP members who will soon be appeased to return to their home party, PDP .

The PDP House -of-Rep candidate for Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti & Oke Ero Federal Constituency in the last general elections also praised the party leader and former President of Nigerian Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON for his wisdom used at employing the best hands as members of the Reconcilation committee .

He said the PDP in Kwara state under Dr Bukola Saraki is now well positioned with the reform mechanisms put in place especially that of Alhaji Baraje-led Reconcilation committee which has been working asidously for a bigger , better and more responsive party structure .

Bankole noted that the efforts is already yielding as some of the APC members are already approaching him and other stakeholders in Oke ero to join the moving train of PDP.

" Those people have tasted the other side of coins and they have now seen that Dr Bukola Saraki is better by far , they have been calling us to admit them formally to our party and when the time comes , I'm going to call back on this committee to come and conduct their induction back to the party "

Dare Bankole while lauding Baraje-led Reconcilation and Engagement committee for their dedication, hard-work and Integrity they have exhibited since inception also prayed for their success in the assignment.

With the above disclaimer stated, can we delve into the matter...

So I just watched the over 7mins censored video posted by Punch capturing Baba Ijesha’s infamy and I beg to state my reservations.

1) I do not think that girl I saw in that video is 14. Pardon me, it’s just my thinking which might be wrong. But that girl looks somewhere around 16.

2) In Nigeria, the age of consent for women is 16 and not 18. It is adulthood that is 18 for women but 16 is their age of consent legally. That’s the reason you will always read those fighting a rape case claiming their victim is either 11, 13, 14 or 15. Yea. Think back, have you read of any rape case where claimants said the victim is 16? Lawyers in the house can help clarify us further.

NB: By rape here, I mean the abuse of a minor and not the general context of rape. Because in the general context of rape a 90 year old granny can be a victim of rape. I know.

3) Watching the video, I saw Baba Ijesha repeatedly express this surprise in his face like, “why are you behaving like this today”? A critical examination of that expression will tell you that those two have been having a thing which was why Baba Ijesha was surprised that his usual partner was now playing hard to get today.

4) Was there really a use of force? Yea, I understand the mean made some seductive touches but does that constitute force?

5) It was all planned out. Why was there a camera focused on that sofa of two? Why did everybody leave the house?

What did Baba Ijesha do to Iyabo Ojo and co?

Conclusion
From the foregoing, I beg to conclude that Baba Ijesha and the said girl are regular sexual partners. Maybe somehow, the girl’s guardian got wind of it and pressed the girl until she confirmed having an affair with Baba Ijesha. Now, instead of the said guardian to call Baba Ijesha and question him privately or caution him, they asked the girl to act nothing happened and play along with them to capture the event on camera and release to the world.

I do not support crime, rape or molestation of a minor but should we suspend reason and join the herd to destroy a man whose colleagues seem to have more against than just child molestation?

Penguin is a bird of reason.
What are you saying "Now, instead of the said guardian to call Baba Ijesha and question him privately or caution him"
You are very evil minded, they should call an adult who from your write-up was clear to have been taking advantage of the child way before the 16years you are ascribing to her while her legal guardian is say she is 14. You are opening your mouth and calling for a negotiated settlement. Shame on you.

Politics / Re: 2023 Presidency: SWAGA Has Not Been Disbanded – Adeyeye by chrisblack: 12:31pm On Apr 29, 2021
nairavsdollars:
Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Chairman of South West Agenda (SWAGA), a political group championing the presidential ambition of former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the 2023 general election has denied rumours that the group has been disbanded.

There were reports that Tinubu had told the group, which has been in the forefront of Yoruba unity ahead of the 2023 presidential election to tone down their activities for now.

However, responding to enquiries by Daily Independent, Adeyeye, a former Minister of Works, on Wednesday described the report as nonsense, saying there was no way SWAGA could be disbanded.

“How can SWAGA be disbanded? It’s nonsense for anyone to say that. Disregard it,” he said.

He had earlier said the group did not get the approval of Tinubu to begin presidential campaign for him.

He said the group, which comprised former lawmakers and political associates of Tinubu, began the campaign to get its presence in all polling units across the country.

“The National Leader of the ruling APC, Asiwaju Tinubu, has not informed any member of the group that he has interest in the election.

“We opted for Tinubu to present the best candidate for the election in the South. We want all of Yoruba to rally round him in order to have a more viable front to clinch the Presidency,” he stated.

Politics / Re: Terrorism: What Makes Muslims Tick? by chrisblack: 8:38am On Apr 28, 2021
NoSentiment:

Currently, there are around 1.8 billion Muslims in the world, and out of this number less than 1% are violent or terrorists. In statistics, we are told it is statistically biased to use a small sample to generalize on the larger population. Yet, today even though less than one 1% of Muslims are terrorists, why do people generalize, stereotype and stigmatize Muslims as terrorists?

The big question now is what constitute a terrorist act? Is it the action or the intention of the terrorists or both?
If we say it is the action, then we may define terrorist as “the act of killing or maiming non-combatants or innocent people”. Here we are only concerned about the action that makes a terrorist or constitute terrorism.

Using this action-based definition, we cannot in all fairness say that terrorism is the exclusive preserve of muslims. Many non-muslim state and non-state actors have, over the course of history, committed (and continue to commit) acts of terrorism. For instance, cultists and ritualists in Southern Nigeria commit acts of terrorism for several decades. They kill, maim and cause public fear. Other terrorists in the south also commit terrorist acts by setting petty thieves ablaze. Armed robbers who detonate explosive devices at banks in the south also commit acts of terrorism. Boko Haram and Fulani bandits also commit acts of terrorism in this regard as their despicable actions also demonstrate. Therefore, using this ACTION-FOCUSSED definition of terrorism, it CANNOT BE ESTYABLISHED THAT TERRORISM IS THE EXCLUSIVE PRESERVE OF NORTHERN NIGERIA OR MUSLIMS. Rather, both north and south, both Christian and muslims are guilty of terrorism.

On another hand, we can also define terrorism in terms of the motivation of the perpetrator. That is whether the perpetrator implicitly or explicitly says they derive their motivation from a Holly Text (Quran or Bible or whatever). For this type of terrorism, the first thing we need to interrogate is the claim of the perpetrator that their holly scripture provides the motivation for his action. Thus, first of all we need to study the scripture as unbiased researchers to establish the veracity of the claim of the terrorists that they are motivated by their holly book. Secondly, we need to establish whether the majority of those sharing the same religion also believe and derive the same violent motivation from their holly text.

WHAT DO THE SCRIPTURES SAY?

Both the Bible and Quran are not pacifistic scriptures. They both have verses talking about warfare and violence. However, contrary to what many may be inclined to believing, the Bible is adjudged by experts to contain more violent verse than all the religious scriptures in the world (https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=124494788 ). When u google ‘The most violent religious scripture’, all the entries you will find relate to the Bible. Some of these violent biblical verses can be rationalized within the context of history but many others cannot be justified. The story in the bible of how the Amalekites were annihilated by the Christian God remains a classic example of genocide unrivalled by any holly texts. Similarly, there are verses in the Quran that are adjudged by many as violent and the muslims too, like Christians claim that those verse can be rationalized when applied to their historical contexts. Thus, the issue now is how do we ascertain the truth? We can research these scriptures ourselves and form our own opinion on whether they are violent or not and which are more violent than others. However, the ideal thing to do now is to look at how the majority of believers in these holly texts (Bible and Quran) are influenced or motivated by their respective holly texts.

HOW ARE THE ADHERENTS INFLUENCED OR MOTIVATED?

In order not to take the claims of the terrorists at face value, we need to ask the question of how the vast majority of other believers sharing the same religion with terrorists are motivated. Are they also violent or not? If the vast majority of the adherents of a holly text are violent, then there are enough evidence to conclude that their scriptural text provides the motivation for terrorism. If, however, it is the small terrorist fringe elements that are violent, then it would be unjust to conclude that the Holly text that is able to have a peaceful influence on the majority but a violent one on a minority (the terrorists) is actually a violent text. This is being unfair to the holly text and is akin to blaming and condemning a father/mother of 10 children simply because two of their sons are wayward. This is most unjust, unfair and unscientific way to generalize. And unfortunately, this is what we do to muslims. All the terrorists in the world put together are not up to 1% of the 10% of the 1.8 billion muslims in all corners of the globe. But why use the actions of 10% (?) to condemn the vast majority of the 90%? The entire Fulani ethnic group and the Kanuri tribe from whom bandits and boko haram come from respectively, do not represent 30% of the muslims in the north (Fulanis are just 9% while Kanuris are definitely less than that in the country). Even if both BH and bandits represent 30% of muslims in Nigeria, is it scientifically justifiable to use the bad actions of 30% to condemn the majority 70% ? Or is it fair to pin the blame on the muslim holly text (Quran) that is able to raise a whopping 70% of peaceful children just because the remaining 30% are wayward?

Moreover, when talking about terrorism, there are other mundane issues or political-economic factors that we conveniently overlook in our attempt to paint all muslims with a black broad brush. Most of the acts of terrorism going on in muslim majority countries or regions have the belssings of countries in the West that can conveniently be called Christian countries (e.g the USA, UK, Germany, and others). Yet, we always delineate and dissociate (because failure is an orphan) the actions of these countries from their Christian religion background. Isn’t Christianity not supposed to mould and refine the behaviour of these countries and their leadership? For instance, who can deny that former US president Bush said that God asked him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq (see video below)? But why don’t we also blame all Christians and Christianity for the these equally terrorist or illegal acts? Because America controls the media and our thinking process, and they did not deem it fit to have us think along this line?
Video [Bush said God asked him to go to war and as far as I know Bush worships the Christian God]:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKt56ztXSK0
Apart from Iraq and Afghanistan, it was Christian countries of NATO that also bombarded Libya, killed Ghaddafi and caused endless chaos that spill over all parts of West Africa. Yet, we never associate their terrorist acts with their religion because they did not say they were inspired by the Bible, right? But doesn’t the action as we have seen justify the label? Or why do we belive the minute muslim minority terrorists saying they were inspired by Quran but refuse to believe the majority of muslims who explicitly or implicitly through their peaceful actions and demeanour tell us their religion doe not inspire violence? Why should what a minority say and do have more credibility than what the majority say and do? Because we are blinded by hate and hatred for muslims and the Islamic faith?

Finally, since all the weapons used by terrorists are manufactured in Christian countries, I wonder why Christianity has not been able to influence those Christian countries to stop manufacturing those deadly weapons for us all to know peace. Also, there are ample evidence that America, a country we all hail created Taliban, AlQaeda, and ISIL (see videos below). Yet, we pin all blames on the Quran, Islam and muslims as we brush aside all other political economy factors that conduce to make terrorism thrive in our midst.

Politics / Re: Optics: The Masses Perspective Of Governor Seyi Makinde Administration by chrisblack: 8:05am On Apr 27, 2021
Saintabey:
OPTICS: THE MASSES PERSPECTIVE OF GOVERNOR SEYI MAKINDE ADMINISTRATION. PART 1

By Bashorun

"From the capital of Oyo State, the city of Ibadan to other zones, the citizens and residents of the state agreed that the state has a face that represents them". Such a face has a road map for the good living of the people of the state. Without any need to amplify that or draw attention to it, there's a great deal that's communicated about who this person is and what their life experiences have been.

Judgementally, dreams can become a reality when we possess a vision that is characterized by the willingness to work hard, a desire for excellence, and a belief in our right and our responsibility to be equal members of society. The joy of the good people of Oyo has been that the reality of their thumb as it was indicated in the ballot paper in March 2019 is bringing good testimony.

Engr Seyi Makinde with his bird view has elevated optics with a classified blueprint that enable him to propel the steering of the state without minding the clog on the wheel. The view of the public on the current administration in Oyo State still believe the governor will do more if given more time. To the artisans who have seen the progress in the governance of the state, they want more. Marketmen and women who have experienced the joy of good governance want the governor to continue with his good work.

The perspective of the common man in Oyo state revealed that the stairs have been stepped up, progress is being observed, growth is being attained, the state is setting pace and standard of living is increasing. Truly, in our judgment of human transactions, the law of optics is reversed; we see the most indistinctly the objects which are close around us. Engr Seyi Makinde has brought the government closer to the masses as he has turned the state to construction sites. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected but in Oyo State, the governor has been a yardstick of quality and evidence of his good governance has made the state to be a model for many states.

Masses are not thoughtless, they are thoughtful, you can't win the hearts and minds of the masses unless you inspire them, they believe you must lift their spirits and enliven their hearts. They believe Governor Seyi Makinde will still propagate the state beyond.
Effectively, the community of masses of human beings has produced an order of life in regulated channels which connects individuals in a technically functioning organisation, masses have been able to organise themselves and has the vision to detect the good performance of any elected officer and how it can be used as a meter for future election.

Truth does not change because it is, or is not, believed by a majority of the people. It is proof of a base and low mind for one to wish to think with the masses or majority, merely because the majority is the majority, in Oyo State today, masses have seen what the current governor is capable of, how the state has been transformed and how the state can go if given more opportunity.

An administration that educates the masses, elevate their standard of intelligence will certainly have a successful tenure of office. Governor Seyi Makinde has shown brilliance in him to the world and he is being described as the S I unit of good governance.
Them never deliver .they have started 2023 package

the government should allow importation of the product. Remember IBETO. He was silenced when he tried to import cement into the country by Dangote .I remembered then he put up a paid advert on why cement should be very cheap and how we are being cheated.
Remember when otedola and dangote had issues over the purchase of Chevron. Even almost collapse share stock of African petroleum.these made otedola angry and threatened to go into the cement business and promised he was going to crash it to a bag for 500-1250 even this was the same price ibeto had claimed previously before dagonte cement silenced him .Until a truce was called for.

The Igbos are only jealous because they currently lack an iconic and dynamic leader like Tinubu.
