DEFENSE NEWS NIGERIA:

Nigeria's Space Defence Force will achieve full operational status sometime by years end. In a hybrid battlefield real-time intelligence can be as important as kinetics.

Since 2018 personnel from the army, navy and airforce as well as civilian technicians have been undergoing extensive training on the use of geospatial, sattelite image analysis, defence mapping etc. at a NASRDA facility.

The Agency is also set to launch two dedicated military satelites.

Another country with a Space Defence Force is the United States. Of course light years ahead in technical capability and funding.

Nigeria and the United States are the only two countries with a dedicated Space Defence Force.

...In recognition of this, the US Secretary of Space Force, Barbara Barrett paid a visit to the Defence Space Administration in January, where it was disclosed that the DSA will be equipped technologically through partnership with the US Space Force to enhance its capabilities.

Barbara Barrett described Nigeria as the destination of choice in Africa for partnership in harnessing space assets through the instrumentality of science and technology in national defence...#WeMeuve

there are many reasons why decisions are taken . Which depends on various factors.such as time,. Funds, political consideration, it does not matter when he decides to move with the recommendation, mind you this is not a new thing ,there have been various recommendation as regards the downsizing of the civil service across all strata of government. The decision as to be made. Either they negotiate for salary reduction or retrenchment of some ,either way what is best for the 98% +should be the goal

Let us be true to ourselves many states dont need to pay ex looters (Governors) pension for life.
Let us be true to ourselves the payment of crazy salaries and allowances to political office holders.

The problem of this country is foolish Citizens like you that will continue support corrupt leaders...
Your stupidity I guess is a classic example of people who reason out of their anus.what is the percentage of what is stolen by politicians. For your info. Theirs no politician who can steal a dime without the express support of civil servants.
2. Bulk of salaries collected by politicians is a small fraction of the that collected by the civil service. Yes politicians are known theives which collect which the screwed constitution as created official monies for. They only get their own graft when salaries have been paid to bulk of the unproductive workers. These same workers would always demand egunje for the official work they are meant to do which they have been paid for.People like you are the problem ,if given the opportunity you will employ your kitty and kin into an already over bloated service draining your state need funds for development. Civil service and politicians are one and the same.

You paid them all these years when oil money was coming in and only realized they were redundant when oil money inflow dwindled. He is clueless about how to inspire the state economy growth.
let us be true to ourselves. Many states don't need the numbers of workers on its payroll. We can never develop as a country when 85% of some states revenue is used in paying salaries of less than2% of the population. It makes not sense. Many of the civil servants are redundant. In so department you would see 5people doing the work of 1 person. It also like that at the federal where due to tribal sentiments they have loaded it with there people. With technology we don't need bulky civil service. More funds should be made available for stimulating the economy through provision of grants, infrastructure , Agricultural support etc that would help the entire populace. There should be a law that stipulate 65 to 35% in terms in favour of capital to recurrent cost. And that all employment must be shared across all nooks and crannies of a state evenly.

Nlanders, I personally think that it's out of place for an army officer to use any of the aircrafts of the Airforce unless of course in a war situation,
The Nigerian Army should have a transport plane or helicopter for their chief.
I see this action of the army chief using an Airforce plane as longer-throat on the part of the army chief, a competent army ought to have its own fleet of planes same as the Navy should,
And I'm sure there were Army helicopters he could have used.
Rip to him!

AIB Nigeria
This is a very useless agency. Which probe are they conducting. The same plane model which has a not so impressive record when it comes to crashes is still allowed to fly when it killed people as recently as Febuary this year. The cause of General Attahiru was as a result of professional
negligence and human error from my take. The pilots could have turned back .The beachcraft king Air 350 as a number of crashes around the world.and in most cases are fatal. The plane needs to be grounded and checked. The pilots need to be re- certified
Politics / Re: Plane Crash: Attahiru Was Determined To End Boko Haram – Gov Zulum Laments by chrisblack: 5:53am On May 23, 2021
Insidenaijasblo:
The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has said the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, was committed to the fight against Boko Haram, Newspremises reports.

Zulum stated this as he paid tributes to Attahiru and 10 other Military officers, who were buried in Abuja on Saturday.

He said Attahiru was determined to significantly contribute to ending the insurgency.

“The commitment of the late chief of army staff to the fight against Boko Haram was very obvious. Within the short time he served, he had been to Borno on multiple occasions, meeting operational commanders and troops at battlefronts.

“In all his interactions, he regularly motivated troops. The people of Borno thank him and all our gallant fallen heroes for their unquantifiable service to Borno and the rest of Nigeria,” Zulum said in a statement.

Attahiru died in a plane crash close to the Kaduna Airport on Friday.

10 other officers were also killed when the Beachcraft 350 aircraft came down due to bad weather.

Gen Attahiru died a needless death.May his soul rest in peace. He died as a result of the failed Nigerian system of doing things. We Nigerians have always failed in common Sense. The US military would have grounded the beachcraft airplane for serious and rigorous investigations before allowing it to fly. Mind you it was the same aircraft model belonging to the Airforce that killed 7 personnel in February the same year. It's sad we are always victims of our own doing. Common sense dictate you should look for an alternative landing location ,when you know the weather is bad and the airport lacks emergency landing solutions. We need to change our manage manage mentality. Human error is number one .on the list of fatal air crashes. The beachcraft aircraft if any is remaining within the Airforce fleet should be grounded as a matter of urgency.

Who are the unpatriotic elements? Those who are tired of being killed by murderous herdmen? Those who are tired of the nepotism of the umpire in charge? Those who hate being dragged back by the unworkable system? Those who believe in equity, justice and egalitarianism?

And the patriots in your definition are those who daily institutionalize nepotism, those who aid, provide protection and supply ammunition to the killer herdsmen? Those who do not share the principle of equity and justice?

You see, being political erodes the sense of objectivity all the times.
both of you have you points. But my own take is Nigeria with all it's potential can only be achieved based on Fairness, justice which can repair the trust. Any below that those clamoring would be right , but if we can come to the level of Fairness and justice. Nigeria would become the greatest country out of black Africa. The Nigeria constitution needs to be changed. That's the only way we can all be happy and have a prosperous country where no one is limited by the other in attaining his or her God given potential.
