Blacksodje: A frontline industrialist, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, has called on the pro-Biafra protesters to have a re-think of their actions and consider its consequences on the generality of the Igbo residing in different parts of the country and tread with caution. He said grounding businesses in the South East, destroying properties of their brothers, and preventing women from fending for their families, among other negative implications of violent protests, do not give credibility to their call, rather dialogue and diplomacy must be employed in resolving any issue of interest, not war or confrontational principle. Ezeemo said that 99.9 per cent of the people parading themselves today as pro- Biafra crusaders and going about their agitation in a violent manner did not see or experience the 1967- 1970 Nigerian civil war and as such do not know the consequences of their action. He called on the protesters to go home and ask their parents, uncles, war veterans in their various localities what it means to incite war and its benefits. “There is nothing good that will come out of conflict, confusion, crisis, not to talk of war where every where will be in comatose. “Native intelligence must be applied in every frontier of Igbo existence so as to achieve the resounding progress we need to leave behind for upcoming generations, not destroying the empire we managed to build after the civil war. “Igbo are very much blessed and loved exceedingly by God, no country anywhere in the world had recovered half what that Igbo had after going through the turbulent sea of war, we need to be grateful to God for this grace,” he said. Ezeemo said the Igbo should be wiser in handling its affairs so as to ensure that all the efforts of our nationalists do not go in vain, Nigeria is for all and we cannot after much sacrifices lose out due to unplanned and uncoordinated programmes. He said the Igbo should borrow a leaf from the manner in which the Yoruba handled their case during the annulment of June 12, 1993, presidential election and ensure that we do not inflict injury on ourselves in the course of fighting for our rights. Ezeemo urged the protesters to shelve any violence mechanism and go back to the elders who know better for advice and techniques on solving the impasse, while urging the government to wade into the reasons for agitation and for resolution as the country was going through lots of economic and insecurity crises.

Change2015: Don't be dull. If cbn gives a contract to a company then they should pay for it with their own budget. In Nigeria all revenues belong to the three tiers of government namely federal, state and local. There should be no spending without appropriation via a budget. Why should the cbn, a federal agency bill the whole nation for the contracts it is dishing out to its friends? This is the same rubbish that NNPC was doing, spending whatever money came in and sending the balance to the treasury and that was simply wrong and illegal. Revenues are meant to be collected before any sharing, and allowing systemspecs to siphon off 1% before any appropriation bill is not what our constitution demands. If they knew what they were doing was right why did they return the money to the cbn? Suck on that. so what about interswitch |

Politics › Re: Enastradamus And Remita by chrisblack: 10:28pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
Calebsky: Buhari Paid TSA Consultants N60 Billion, Not N25B Per Day As Exposed – Nigerian Senate.
**REMITA is requested to refund a total of N2.5trn they received as Commission. **Paying N6trn a year to REMITA will crash the economy. The main reason for Buhari's 'profit warning', "that Nigeria is broke".
The Nigerian Senate have requested the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to immediately terminate the contract awarded to a private firm REMITA for the implementation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s version of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy, which pay REMITA 1% commission for every transaction.
The Senate instructed its committees on Finance, Banking and other Financial Institutions, and Public Accounts to carry out a holistic investigation and report back in two weeks, asked the firm, which is allegedly owned by a top South West member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to return the sum of N2.5 trillion which has allegedly been collected so far.
REMITA is used as a front by APC politicians, they Hired the technology and Management of another company, Systemspecs Nigeria, a Software company. The Director of REMITA are using proxy directors to cover themselves and to divert Nigerians attention to their Milking of our Treasury.
President Muhammadu Buhari secretly awarded the Company the contract without following the Nigerian banking rules. Like a Profit warning, this is why President Buhari announced to Nigerians that the Country is broke. Paying REMITA N6trn in a year will surely damage Nigerian economy and if it happens, Buhari will tell us that he already informed Nigerians that it will happen. He kick-started his usual blame of PDP and Jonathan.
This is same thing that happened when Buhari was incharge of PTF, where Nigeria lost Billions through a Consulting Firm, Afri-Project. Afri-Project used Innocent Nigerians as their Director and Management staffs, while the real owner and beneficiaries of the Fraud are in hiding. Today, over 5 Director and Managers of Afri-Project are in Buhari Cabinet as Ministers and other appointments.
The Senate did also ask for the prosecution of all members of REMITA’s board of directors according to the provisions of the Bank and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA).
Senator Dino Melaye, on his debate on the motion, said that the “Federal Government on 15th of September 2015 mopped up the sum of N2.5 trillion through its e-collection agent called Remita. Remita charges 1 percent of all monies passing through it, the implication of which 1 percent of the N2.5 trillion mopped up on the 15th of September alone amounted to N25 billion largesse to Remita for doing nothing.
“The appointment of Remita as an agent for the operations of the TSA negates and contravenes the constitution. The activities of Remita is a gross violation of the BOFIA Act and another attempt of ripping Nigerians of tax payers money.”
On his part, the Majority Senate Leader, Ali Ndume expressed surprise at the revelation given that the President assumed office on the back of no-tolerance for corruption campaign.
He said: “I didn’t believe that this could happen under this government. However, if it is true, the people involved are saboteurs, and must be compelled to return the money, and face the wrath of the law”.
Speaking on the matter, the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Ibn Na’Allah, said: “Some people hide in the umbrella of consultancy to defraud the nation, and resort to social media. The 8th Senate is distinct, and must do what is right, and in accordance with the law.
“The 8th Senate will not subject itself to public referendum through the social media. I want to assure Nigerians that the 8th Senate will bring whoever that is involved, and hunt him down.”
Also contributing to the debate was Senator Akpan Bassey who posited thus: “I will personally lead the youths of this country on a protest against this present administration, if nothing is done to address the current state. We must rise! That is a total of N25 million in one day, and it is now N60 billion.”
On his part, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe said: “When matters like this come up, it is no longer treated as partisan; otherwise, I would have asked: where is the promised change? When the investigations are done, let us make it known because someone would have given this instruction. We need to know that person, who is so powerful.
“Somebody made this decision, and we must ask, who gave this order? Who is that person in this country that is so powerful to direct MDAs (ministries, departments and agencies) to pay money into a private account?
“We should not cover anybody in this investigation, no matter how highly placed. We are hearing that the money has gone up to N60 billion. One company is taking N60 billion of our money.” All through my years on NL this is the most stupid and I'll laid out writeup I have ever seen. This is a show of stupidity at the lowest level. You people say all kind of rubbish without thinking .Remita is a platform which as been in existence before buhari's administration.Remit a has been in use by the FG for e-payment of salary for over 3 years.Inter switch is a platform that collects transaction fee on every money moved by banks amongst them solve. The actual amount Remit a gets is around 0.1 not 1% as claimed by dino me late.Me late had is own reason for sounding alarmist, which is known to everybody.Remita is a business entity whose tech ology drives the TSA. Even online school portals charge transaction or software usage fee. This method is standard across the globe.Me late should also be called to testify while bringing his fact.Tinubu is not the owner of system specs. This company has been in existence with various software innovations .Do you guys even know the technical logistics involve in the deployment, the manpower ,logistics ,internet bandwidth, etc.So 2.5bn for a national ict oriented financial deployment is not much.ask the banks for how much it cost for the banking solutions they operate. Remit a should be paid for its services.Dino me late are only shouting for them to have an edge as regards the House of Assembly Account. |

Ruke1989: Seriously, i have never called Mr Buhari an outdated man but the recent happenings in Nigeria especially the way the outdated director general is arogantly and uncautionably disobeying court orders makes me say Mr buhari and his director general of state security are both "outdated men".
Never for once did we have this kind of situation under GEJ and Yaradua. Though OBJ the former irresponsible president also disobeyed court orders. But if for any reason buhari was voted, returning Nigeria back to a state of lawlessness is not one of those reasons he was voted.
Imagine these events which have drawn global attention: 1) nnamdi kanu has fulfilled his bail condition and court has ordered his bail, but nnamdi kanu is still held against court order 2) dasuki is sick of cancer, but is endlessly being detained at home for months despite court orders granted to allow him go for treatment. If he dies at home, there would be no justification to Mr buhari's silly conducts. 3) invading akwa ibom govt house under the guise of looking for hidden weapons without first getting a search warrant from court
For the sake of records, if Mr buhari is not behind the DG of DSS madness, he should have called him to order. Disobeying court orders is lawlessness and no one including buhari is above the law. If Nigeria were a sane society and if nigerians were a sane people devoid of bigotry, these issues should have been subjects of public debate.
What i don't know is why the PDP, IPOB and MR dasuki did not drag the DSS Director general to court for abuse of office, harassment and lawlessness.
Lawless conducts and abuse of office especially when done against public interest may result in mass action and civil unrest and consequently war.
The DSS DG will carry this attitude to next election and may provoke war... You guys should try to remove bigotry from your DNA and look at this issue clearly instead of throwing stones at PDP, GEJ or even me - the wailer you are very funny guy |
