For me even if you are a century old as long as you're doing the business what's my own?

Now that you mention it I think however is going to coach the SE next should review Musa's place in a playing capacity. Yesterday was calling out for an experienced performer to bail the team out and unfortunately he governor couldn't step up clearly meaning Eguavoen couldn't trust Musa from a performance perspective. Going forward we need to always have our fittest and best (were possible) legs to prosecute game. Ahmed should be used in an ambassadorial role going forward. Ejuke should be encouraged hopefully the addition of Lookman will make us better.

Midfield is still begging for a creative spark. Jibola wasn't half bad I'll be honest but we definitely need more reinforcements.

If we're to have a chance of getting past Ghana in March Osimhen has to be playing. If Dennis comes with his head in the right place his abilities will help.

For now Uzoho should man the sticks. Okoye will come good but these are times to get all hands on deck.

No be me

As far as you never reach 35 I Dey okay with you for the national team

If you are also 35 and playing at the top I am still okay

Na coach go decide who to call ,me and you opinion go end here

Good everyone hope we are all out of the ICU grin

But seriously speaking yes yesterday hurt but there will be better days that's how life rolls.

More importantly I want to appeal to all of us fans and supporters (even trolls grin) to please do better. All this toxic online/offline behavior has to stop. Maduka made a mistake yesterday yes but no matter how pained you are why wish death on the young man? huh angry Why abuse and insult Safari girl based on her womanhood what has that got to do with football? Is she the head coach that put Maduka in goal.

Let's all learn how to manage success and defeat. Not become insufferable and arrogant when we win or pessimistic and abusive when we lose let's do better please.

Congrats to the Tunisians their tactics worked out.

Not going to knock the boys they did their best poor execution and luck wasn't on their side.

We learn from our mistakes and prepare for the WCQ against Ghana. Keep your head up guys. We move.

Forever Super Eagles

Humility bro you disappointed me with this your post o. It's now a sin for a coach to ginger a player?

Eguavoen in interviews before the AFCON already said he will talk to his players from time to time so where's this agenda popping it's head from?

Even the yeye journalist shouting ''close door meeting'' didn't a photo journalist already post a picture of Augustine talking to Umar so why all the unnecessary conspiracy theory?

humility33:
I have begin to think that this guy have strong political backing

We may end up loosing this AFCON and not making much progress in football if our politicians begin to bring in sentiments as to who should play and sit on the bench

The renaissance of the Yoruba language has been helped in no small measure by Yoruba movie channels and Naija Afro Pop artists.

It's increasingly getting acceptable for young hip people to be versed in the language.

Would be lying if I said I was completely satisfied with the draw but anyway it is what it is.

Ghanaians will definitely bring fire just because it's up but I'm optimistic we can do it.

Happy the first leg is away.

Let's go Super Eagles. Do the business at the afcon and against the black stars

I used to think Tyrone was potentially better but having watched Aina play under Eguavoen I think Ola offers much more. The only issue I had with Aina is/was his defensive play which he looks to have improved on. Ebuehi is very solid but going forward to join the attack is just not his natural game whereas is Ola is a more perfect fit for how we want to play.

PurpleHouse:
I rate Aina highly here, and have severally spoke about how massive he is for an attacking side. But give and take, on his day Ebuehi is better.

You're rating a player who came to camp late, struggled to gain composure in a game with many strangers (none first team players), to compare a player that has settled into the team (Ola).

Naaah. Give the kid a run of games as Ola and then judge afterwards. He's too smooth on the ball that you hardly notice his massive depth. I saw him try to march forward severall but Iwobi wasn't clicking, drifted to the midfield and left Ebuehi most alone.

And do you see how he smoothly collected the ball from his opponent on a one on one before the ref blew for an offside? Dammn. Make una nor dey look down on who never settle down into the team.

Tunisia despite their situation will do everything within their power to get the better of us but I'm optimistic we have the quality to overcome them. Also pray that the element of luck and good fortune follows us that day.

Let's all continue to do our bit of praying and supporting the team.

Whatever happens for the rest of the afcon full marks to Eguavoen for making me enjoy watching the SE again. We play with identity even though we don't have the quality of the 1994 side in certain areas of the pitch you can't ignore the clear attacking framework of this team.

Still many hurdles to cross but I remain quietly hopeful and confident that this group of players WILL do something special.

Let's all continue to pray for luck and good fortune to follow the team.

Look at where Ekong was facing, look at where the ball struck Ekong. Troost turned his body to block the ball which struck his arm that was in a natural position.

Note the word 'natural position' there is no other place his arm could have been other than where the ball struck him.

You will notice in the EPL when such things happen they always look at the position of the player if he could have been trying to deliberately stop the ball. Ekong from the picture you pasted didn't even know where the ball was plus his arm wasn't stretched out which would mean he was deliberately preventing the ball from going in.

Modified on second look watching the replay again Ekong knew what he was doing. He glanced briefly to see where the ball was going and instinctively stretched out his arm a bit so yes you are right he got away with one.

TheLoneCitizen:
Wasn't turned away.

Wasn't ball to hand, look at the distance ball travelled before hitting his arm. How can you call a free-kick for a player that wasn't in the wall "ball to hand"?

Arm wasn't tucked to body. In an unnatural position.

The arm deflected a goal-bound shot.

Guy what are you talking about it was ball to hand plus Ekong's arm was clearly close to his body, not to mention he was turned away from the ball.

Tyrone was solid for me. Joining the attack is just not his game yet but hopefully Eguavoen can help him improve on that part of his game.

Curtisaxel10:
Lest I forget, Ebuehi was largely underwhelming yesterday. I assume he was just trying to play safe since we've already qualified but i expect more from the lad going forward.

I won't like bro if it were up to me I might not play him again in this afcon. This is tournament football and we're in the knockout stages, any slip up we are going home. No coach has time to be doing fela durotoye for anybody to boost their confidence. Hope Sadiq can turn it around all the same.

Mujtahida:
He will never be loved. Even if he scores loads of goals. Personally I wish he'd continue to be given more time but can we afford the luxury?

Your eye didn't see the curved shot he parried to a corner, but continue with your agenda

komekn:
He parried the ball straight into the pathway of the oncoming player, they nearly go the rebound and scored.

It's very poor to goalkeeping it's literally a school boy error

Decent first half although we allowed Bissau to grow towards the end of the game.

I've always defended Sadiq but I'm sorry I don't think he's ready for this level yet. He worked hard but his clumsiness on the ball broke down a lot of attacking moves plus his lack of composure probably cost him a goal.

Ejuke not his day so far could still grow into the game.

Nwakali has been decent. Should have had an assist in this game.

Overall I'm impressed with the performance of our defense and midfield. Uzoho hasn't had much to do.

I expect a better second half.
