*In Rohr accent* ''you know Awoniyi is a young player, doing well in Union Berlin in Germany. Already we have Osimhen doing well in Napoli and also Ighalo with his experience, so Taiwo has to learn from them'' ChrisKels: Awoniyi is a power playing centre forward and a press machine just like Osimhen. Though he didn't score yesterday, he was quite impressive. He and Iheanacho gave us some improved IdeyEmenike 2013 vibe.
How Rohr didn't see this is baffling |

Should be banned from refereeing for a very long time by CAF. Acecube: Tunisia vs Mali ref need to be sanctioned. Stopped match @ 85th minute and 89th minutes didn't even add extra time... Gave a harsh red card. |

Yeah Nwakali should be the last person you bring on when your back's against the wall. Kelechi should be eased into a game when we are well untop or leading comfortably. To be fair to Eguavoen the Egyptians were beginning to advance forward so maybe he thought Nwakali could provide a long ball to the forwards. Papi85: But when eguavoen brought in nwakali instead of Onyeka when the team needs energy, pace and physicality to defends its lead fear me ooo
That move he made was too damn risky |

Sorry bro but Ejuke has no excuse especially for the second he could have hit a one time ball to Iwobi which would have left the Egyptian defender at sea. It was when he advanced and slightly changed his angled run that the defender could now block Iwobi's path. Chidera has bags of ability but his decision making has to improve massively. drDoom3: Also you guys are saying Ejuke was selfish for the two shots he had saved.
For the first, he pushed the ball too far out that he could not give an accurate pass sideways before having it cut out, so he just went for the shot.
For the second, Iwobi got closed down by the defender immediately Ejuke got the ball in an area he could pass to him. Everyone he could pass to was closed down or marked. The only free guy was Sadiq, and he arrived into position too late. |

Credit to all the boys nice one. Kudos to Eguavoen for the game plan that starved Salah of the ball. Warriors shift from Ndidi. Ejuke still has to develop football IQ. Ekong did well best game in the Nigerian jersey. Okoye wasn't troubled much but looked imposing finally made a crucial save. Enjoy your victory tonight boys you earned it |

Quality post my good sir. komekn: I can't BELIEVE my eyes but we are dominating Egypt we keep breaking up their play ,we are not allowing them to play their game.
And we have blocked of the supply route to Salah.
KC is having a lot of influence in the midfield with the HIGH PRESS.
Substitutions will be crucial you cannot keep this high tempo for 90 minutes , players will get tired . So who comes in is very important.
We have overcome technicality , with the high press , work rate, physicality, aggression. Sometimes playing a highly rated opponent brings out of the best in Nigeria.
Also I see more of the GIDIGBO spirit we no be Oyibo.
Thank you Eguavon for making us remember who WE ARE. |

Great really selfless running from Awoniyi, a battering ram of a man. Pray he gets a deserved goal in the 2nd half.
Kelz doing senior man tinz luvet!!
Backline disciplined and sharp.
Chukwueze needs to step up.
Overall love the intensity and high pressure running. So far a marked departure from the sluggishness of Rohr days. |

''You know we are missing Osimhen due to injury and experienced Ighalo. This Egypt match will be an interesting game. You they have Mo Salah one of the best players. For us we have to rely on the collective because we don't have again players like Jayjay or kanu. You know we are a young team....'' PurpleHouse: I swear bro. You see how the player's have been talking confident. Because Eguavoen has told them they have only one assignment: to win Afcon.
Baba Ijebu would have killed their moral by now by reminding them of their fears and preparing to start Simon Moses. Tueh! |

Ziyech has been awful in the Moroccan shirt not sure he would have done much at this AFCON. drDoom3: Ghana is relying on the strength and pace of their wingers/attackers Sulemana, the Ayew brothers and Paintsil.
Get the ball in defense, play long ball forward and hope the wingers are fast and strong enough to beat their man.
Hakimi is such a graceful player. Ziyech is missed, his play helped organize the team. If not for Hakimi, Kamaldeen Sulemana would be running riot on that left wing because the guy is too fast and strong. |
