As the clamour to restructure Nigeria political and economic space is reaching a high crescendo, it has been alleged that the national assembly isn’t showing interest as it stands today. This has demonstrated that there is a disconnect between them and the people they are representing. This is worrisome, said Chucks Nwachukwu, a social commentator and legal practitioner He was quoting Baralabe Musa and others that have called for the need to Restructure the nation. He said that the is need to punctuate. He said that agitation is a period for reform and the government must understand this. Chuks said that we have political and economic restructuring…and due to the fact that there has been a higher call for political Restructuring, there is need to look at economic Restructuring. The economic model has to change. The position of the military is absurd as it regards to hate speech. The constitution spelt out the roles of hate speech and military isn’t a police and they have not been mandated to monitor hate speech be it in social media. This is the height if degree of absurdity and they think their job is to release fear on the people. Fear is itself a hate speech and they are wanting to use this to put terror on people ,he said . He said that the military has nothing to monitor the civilians on this but restated that there is nothing wrong in containing hate speech but there should be ways things are done. https://etimes.com.ng/military-no-right-monitor-social-media-chuks-nwachukwu/ |

You are calling names...the last time I checked it's the men that do the wooing of woken not the other way round....I think you will say that Yoruba men must start appreciating their women and the Yoruba women must up this game OrdercityWeb: |
To be honest...Yoruba ladies are pretty and have wonderful shape that it where it stops...if their men don't appreciate their women ,why should other tribe appreciate it Charity begins at home. The hausa will always marry ahusa The Igbo will always marry Igbo or their closest cousins in niger Delta...but Yoruba...they will flaunt other tribes and downplay their own Well, I don't know if yo say this is a complex...mind you if an Igbo girl will marry outside her tribe...she will marry a well place non Igbo man...so that she believes if you want to 3wt frog...eat the fattest one. The Yoruba must find a way to preserve their culture otherwise in few decades time we will have half Yoruba kids and half Igbo kids running things and you know the affinity between mum and kids are greater than a father They might call this a tribalistic statement but truth is harsh. But why do Yoruba detest their ladies...I see that daily . You can hardly see Igbo man flaunting other women OrdercityWeb: |
Why always the two meeting....why don't they carry SW along...are they not in South This isn't cool ..i.musy be honest. We need a United south |

OrdercityWeb:The Igbo will gain....don't be surprised in no distance time...an Igbo blood will be the ooni . The kids will have loyalty to their mum and take whatever money they make in Yoruba land to Igbo land....we know kids love mum more The Igbo will gain ..the Igbo are making cultural headways in Yoruba land apart from the economy...look at Akure set up They should salvage what is loosing in their culture or they will have a generation of half Igbo kids losing it over The Igbo are smart here |

A HISTORY OF PROSTITUTION & WOMEN TRAFFICKING IN BINI OF THE 17TH CENTURY By Olfert Dapper (A Dutch Doctor & Historian, 1668) "After a man dies all the wives with whom he has had sexual relations become the King's and are given again in marriage by him, but those with whom he has not slept go the son who may keep them or marry them to others.. It happens also that the King sometimes does not give these women in marriage but makes them regetaires who must annually contribute to his treasury a certain number of cowries. These women who have nothing to fear from men's authority, choose as many lovers as they like and play the LovePeddler lustily , as married women also do sometimes. These regetaires when they become pregnant outside marriage and bear sons, are freed from having to make these payments, but if one of them has a daughter the King gives the girl as wife to someone or other. There are also great regetaires to whom the smaller must present annual accounts, and likewise the great regetaires must present annual accounts to the Fiadors1, or justices, who alone show them to the King.. After a man's wife has been in childbed, he has no sexual relations with her until the child is one - and-a-half years old and the child can walk. But if he comes to know that his wife has meanwhile been making shift with another, he makes a complaint to the Fiadors. " Reference(s) From Olfert Dapper (1668) pp495 - 505, a doctor of medicine, spent most of his life in Amsterdam, a history of which he also wrote. |

By Na-Allah Mohammed Zagga We the Hausa/Fulani have always accused others hating us or being indifferent to our plight when we are victims of violence elsewhere. During the Ille Ife violence against Hausa/Fulani, we accused the media of conspiracy of silence or refusing to talk about it. It is easier to accuse others than to admit our own foibles. We hardly acknowledge our own faults. We have a notorious record of violence against minorities in the name of religion and politics. We have always turned the so-called peaceful protests into violence. We preach tolerance only when we are victims elsewhere, but forget our own intolerance in our own area of dominance. Former President Jonathan's convoy was attacked with stones by Hausa/Fulani thugs during his reelection campaigns in the North. He was a protected public figure, his security details had every power to respond decisively. But Jonathan showed maximum restraint. He is a minority politician campaigning in areas dominated by Hausa/Fulani. Instead of condemning the violence against Jonathan, our people, including the seemingly enlightened ones, were hailing the violence against him. In defending violence against others, don't think it is your right to harm people in areas where you are in the majority. If every section of Nigeria had chosen to respond to violence with violence, the country would have ceased to exist. If the Niger Delta people had decided to retaliate the humiliation of Jonathan in the North during the electioneering campaign by violently attacking General Buhari's campaign team, do you think Nigeria would have survived the vicious circle of violence, letting alone having any election in the country? We are taking our unity for granted. As Adejare Ibrahim argued in his post, no region has a monopoly on violence, and I agree with him. Our intolerance is getting out of hand. We shouldn't see majority advantage as licence to harm others with impunity. The inability to think through the consequences of our mob violence may bring us faster and closer to disaster. Our proneness to violence has created so many enemies for us across the country. And this animus towards us is so inveterate that, even where Hausa/Fulani are victims of violence, other people hardly care to sympathize with us. Instead, they tell you "you are getting a dose of your own medicine." Look at the recent brutal massacre of the Fulanis in Sardauna Local Government of Taraba State by ethnic militias. The media didn't give it publicity, despite the fact that it was a case of genocide. The usual response of other Nigerians is: they deserved what they got, they are getting a dose of their own medicine! When our own violence destroys the humanity in other Nigerians, who will stand for us for justice when we are victims? When we make disregard for the sanctity of life not only a habit, but also a duty executed with sadistic glee, we ultimately rob ourselves of other people's sympathy and support if we become victims of violence. Don't defend violence because it brings nobody any benefits, including you its supporter. I despise violence in all its forms. I have condemned the Taraba violence against the innocent Fulanis brutally murdered by hate-intoxicated ethnic militias, and I won't hesitate to condemn violence perpetrated by our own people against others in the country. Enough of this violent tendencies, it does us no good. https://etimes.com.ng/hausafulaniwhy-hate-us/ |

Throughout the week, it was terrible, a lot of work piled up and I must finish it, that’s what I am paid for, though underpaid but a man got to do it. By 4.pm I called Tunde for a TGIF. We headed to some cool bar around Ikeja. Called my girl, but she was out of town for an official “ish” got drinking and some cool girls came with Tunde. Got introduced to Mary, sweet young one, in her early twenties. We started having a chat , from the tone of the chat, she wasn’t up to date politically, economically and she was almost chatting throughout the duration we had but always on booze. Saw her as a young lady and decent, though in a bar, we were introduced. That doesn’t diminish her value to me; the venue of any meet isn’t imperative, but the attitude after the meet. Gave her benefits of doubts, we drove out and headed to another joint, it is Friday, my girl isn’t home, had to make some mint friends and here is this lady (Mary) all pretty and all outgoing though shallow intellectually. Wondering if beauty without brain is the new “cool” in town. Wanting to kill my boredom with discussion yet she couldn’t give me the groove I needed, we took it to alcohol, she gave it to me. Drinking and snapping picture, cool ambience and nice environment are the few materials a “slay queen needs” with a bottle of premium and top notch spirit….she is good to go. Mary went literary, snapping away and sipping away. Tunde has gone with Yemi, I am left with her, wanted to drop her at the end of the day, but from the countenance, she didn’t want to go home! She is barely 24! We did it in my place and she wanted to stay for the weekend… just like that. I figured out how to discharge her. I had to put my thinking cap and get cracking and thought of an excuse. She never got up from the bed till like 10.30 am , picked the remote and went straight to the movie channel, watched till like noon. Still worried why she doesn’t see it as a problem staying over at a new man’s house and offering her “things” without even bargaining. As an old fashioned dude, I enjoy the “chase” but as it stands most girls in big cities like Lagos don’t give us the chance to make the chase, they just give it to us. Here is this one giving it to me, lounging, no bargain and no negotiation…. dropping the values of women like hot Akara. I wondered what happened to the old “Shakara” that women are noted for, what happened to the good old, advises that mums dish out to their daughters those days? Was in this mood of contemplation, I came up with an idea. I told her to get bathed, get dressed that we would be going to a fast food joint to do breakfast. It was in that joint I told her that I would drop her off because my mum would be visiting later in the day. Mary isn’t the type of lady I would introduce to mum and she never knew it. As I dropped her off, I deleted her number and heaved a sigh of relief… good riddance to bad rubbish.
