May God bless you. You have spoken my entire mind. I need to connect with people like you so that we'll start building a new set of young leaders from the east that can see and control things differently for our region in the nearest future.
thank you. GMB was not popular they voted based on tribal and religious sentiment not based of capabilities, I hate talking tis but at this point, I ma weeping for Nigeria ...it hurts that in this ICT age with smart cities initiativex and e governance some dudes are talking 2 square meal a day.

I hate this country, feel like staying on my own. bunch of unintelligence parading as rulers. I am ashamed to fly out again with my passport.....

Let's be sincere, the north voted buhari because he was their own,not because he had any better programme that GEJ.
The west voted Buhari simply because of the Osibanjo/Tinubu factor. Afterall, buhari has been contesting since, why didn't they recognise him as the change all this while.
I ask an ardent yoruba Apc supporter if he would have been clamouring for this change if Buhari had chosen Rochas or Ngige as running mate,he never answered.
Its all tribal.
Last note: let's pray that Apc learns from GEJ and provide a level electoral playing field to vote them out when they fail to perform(though I doubt).

It is easier said than done, the way Ukrain did not wipe Donesk..talk is cheap...is it not money that you will use to prosecute war..who will even do the fighting, is it not these army that cant defeat rag tag desert rats called boko haram on a dry land not to talk of fighting people on a swamp area with access to oil and sea....

dude dont pray for that, the economy will be in ruins, we do not export anything apart from oil...so wake up son

brownlord:
If the ND militants decide to take up arms against Buhari government and the people of bayelsa, rivers and creek decide to buy into the militants idea, killing security men and destroying government property while the masses In shield them, there is nothing much Buhari government can do except he intend to declare full war and wipe the entire region.

Like I said here sometime ago, Obama was not there when bomb went off in Boston, but a citizen reported to the security men after seeing the the act on CCTV. Use your head son, to the north they could not deal with a minority president. The propaganda worked, couple with the fact Jonathan refuse to handover the country to OBJ and some cabals which are his greatest undoing.

@freeaGlobe, get over it, your man lost accept defeat and move on.

Go and check the results; check the percentage of votes each candidate got from the various regions and see whose results is more inclined to ethnicity. Why is it so hard for you people to be magnanimous enough to accept this result and be calm? If everyone is inclined to your advice, then no way people from your side will ever become president of Nigeria.
We are not crazy about president we are crazy about either let have the economic power which we are doing gradually and also have our homeland biafra keep the presidency...it has made north so pooer that they are poorest region, obasanjo was president it did not change the roof tops of ibadan or huts in ogbomoso so forget the presidency give us the Nigerian and West African Economy.

what good is road, school and Agriculture when there is no security and people are dying every day from bomb blast? The northerners were living like refugees in their own country and GEJ refuse to protect them. Infact he only visited the north eastern state weeks to the election so he could campaign. GEJ failed the people of the north
BUT IT IS NOT THE SOUTH EAST THAT CAUSED IT, NORTH HAS BEEN PROBLEMATIC RIGHT FROM 1920 AD SO WHEN THEY STARTED SHARIA DID THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT IT WILL CAUSE THIS WAHALA, THEY SHOULD USE THEIR MONEY TO BUILD BOMBS WE USE OUR FOR GOOD ROADS AND AIRPORT

WHY AM I STILL STUCK IN NIGERIA

As a nation, when goodluck was there they touted our democracy nascent but we know that there is nothing nascent about our democracy because a fifteen year old girl has started …… and what we had was kleptocracy where we had a bunch of people that are tokenistic and prependal.

This cut across all the tribe but it was not democracy and meritocracy was sacrificed on the alter of quota system and methodology. Then came a Goodluck that was nothing but good all just slow and clueless but the democracy they said continued unabated. I loved GEJ nad still love his lamb nature but he is manipulated and he didn’t fight his wars well. Yesterday he was ousted that the powers that be, maybe he is a Christian, maybe he is an ijaw man, maybe he is a minority maybe they brought out book haram to give him a bad name. coming to bad name in igbo land there is a saying that goes that if you want ton kill a dog please just give him a bad name. that was what happened.

Did he see the handwriting on the wall/ I guess he felt like emperor NERO but all is said, the Nigerian democracy has grown or is it still nascent, today we have transcended from Democracy to Gerontocracy (gerontocracy is a form of oligarchical rule in which an entity is ruled by leaders who are significantly older than most of the adult population)
This is not democracy this is gerontocracy and in a modern age people are talking about e government, m government building smart cities we are going back to Gerontocracy.

There is no reason why Nigeria should continue being a united country when we now place ethnic interests over competence and performance. The yorubas have supported with the hausas to return to the status quo of their born to rule. I don't expect any democracy dividend from a buhari presidency for the masses because Buhari didn't even present a manifesto. All he did was sell his ethnicity to his north while the yorubas did for their region.
Jonathan has done more for the north than any president from the north and yet tribalism defeated him. I want to ask all igbos to boycott this government and prepare for the next election with awareness and tribalism. Igbos should make sure that they are not shortchanged in the upcoming census. There is no reason why katsina should have more population than Anambra.

Enough said!

Am so proud of you guys and now i crave your indulgence in putting all hands on deck in making Nigeria even better and not sitting on the fence once again to lay blames.

It is unfortunate that this is where we found ourselves as a people, ruled by people that should be relaxing and this form of Gerontocracy that they named Democracy(I weep) but Nigeria belongs to all of us and together we shall make it better.....God bless our out going president GEJ God bless our president elect GMB and God bless the federal republic of Nigeria

YOU MUST BE CRAZY TO MAKE SUCH A STATEMENT...IGBO ELITES? WHO WHERE THE MOST PEOPLE HOLDING THE POSITION. YORUBA PEOPLE DID NOT SCAM GEJ, HE WAS A STUPID MAN PERIOD AND ASK ME WHY

THE FIRST MISTAKE HE MADE WAS ALLOWING APC TO BE
SECOND MISTAKE WAS ALLOWING HAUSA MAN TO BE INEC CHAIR ...SO DO U EXPECT HIM TO MESS UP
THIRD MISTAKE IS ALLOWING HIMSELF TO BE USED AND PICKING FIGHTS WITH AMAECHI, OBASANJO, ROCHAS ET AL
HE WAS TRYING TO OVER PLEASE HAUSA BY BUILDING EVERYTHING FOR THEM

LESSOPN IN LIFE, YOU JUST CANT BE MR NICE GUY TO EVERYBODY, EVEN JESUS WAS DENIED, BETRAYED AND DOUBTED ON BY ONLY 12 MEN HOW MUCH MORE GEJ

In Yorubas you will find the best political analyst like Bola Tinubu, (The Awo of present days). He has the best political calculations.

Obasanjo was never supported by yorubas in 1999, Jonathan was highly favored in 2011 by the yorubas, how then can u term yorubas as tribal politicians.

When Jonathan was not running a credible govt, we turned our back on him based on ideology.

Ibos are tribalistic and politically naive, you rejected your credible son Ngige as gov because of the hate you have for Bola Tinubu and ACN. You supported Jonathan because of your corrupt people in his govt. Due to your political immaturity you rejected Ngige again as senator, hence losing the position of Senate President in the next dispensation.

It will take the will of God for SE to produce president in this country because at the same time if such is zoned to SE, every Igbo citizen will come out as candidates.

Bola Tinubu you hate so much has been a liberating factor in Nigeria. Due to his political mathematics and his magnanimity, he United the opposition parties to wrestle power from the devourer party PDP. Long live Bola Tinubu, long South west, long live Nigeria.
Politics › Re: PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RESULTS CURRENT STANDINGS (UPDATED -31/03/2015, 5.53pm) by christopher123(m): 6:16pm On Mar 31, 2015
Article 134 (2) of the Nigerian Constitution stipulates that a presidential candidate will be duly elected after attaining both the highest number of votes cast; and has received at least a quarter of the votes at each of at least two-thirds of all the states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja. If no candidate satisfies the requirement, a second election will be held between the two leading candidates within seven days from the pronouncement of the result.

Its self explanatory, apart from having the highest number of votes, d winner must garner at least 25% in at least 24 states even if he loses in some of d states.

FOR THE ILLITERATES AMONGST US HERE, LET ME BREAK IT DOWN THE WAY I WILL BREAK IT DOWN FOR A 6 YEAR OLD SWEET GIRL

It will perhaps help you understand the spirit and principle of the rule first.

WHY HAVE THE 25% PROVISION?
In a country as diverse as Nigeria, this policy was put in place to ensure that any leader that is elected enjoys the mandate and support of a large part of Nigeria.

Basically, it is insufficient to have a large number of votes from one part of the country. For example, even if I won 100 million votes from Kano state alone, I would still need to demonstrate that I have support from the rest of Nigeria in addition to the large votes I got from Kano.

I would need to get at least 25% of the vote in 2/3rd of the states in Nigeria.

Nigeria has 36 states today, so I would have to get 25% of the votes in 24 states.

NOTE that I don't need to win the 24 states. I just need to get 25%.

So, to recap, to win the presidency in Nigeria, I need

1. A simple majority of the vote which I could get from a small section of the country (or even one state)

ALSO

2. Demonstrate I have support in a large part of the country by showing that at least 25% of voters in at least each of 24 states supports my candidacy.

bullshittt.... lagos is lagos and was developed by whole nigeria not gbegiri money

Mapletraks:
@christopher

It is Lagos Island (Marina, Lagos Island)
that was the administrative capital of Nigeria from 1906-1991.

Lagos State wasn't the capital of Nigeria.
There is a difference between Lagos Island (Lagos for short or Eko in Yoruba) which is an Island town just like Bonny Island or Bonny for short, and Lagos State
which is NOT a noman's land because the whole of Lagos State is owned by the Aworis, Ijebus of Epe, Ikorodu, and Lekki LGAs, and Ogus/Aworis of Badagry LGA.

These 3 subethnic groups are the indigenes of Lagos State which Gen. Gowon created for them on May 27, 1967 along with 11 other new states.

Even the British Colonialists clearly stated
that Lagos Island is a Yoruba town and it has always been so. They never said Lagos Island which served as the British admin capital is a noman's land just as Calabar, the former capital before Lagos Island also has real indigenes (Efik, Efut and the Qua).

Ibos must desist from insulting the Yoruba
by refering to Lagos State as a nobody's land or that oil money built it.

Do other states in Iboland and Nigeria not get oil money from the Federation account
like Lagos does? Please let the indigenes
of Lagos State enjoy their state without this overbearing attitude from some Ibos.

Finally I read copy of the SUN newspaper and other historical documents which indicate that a lot of Yoruba and Edo lived
in Iboland in places like Abakaliki before
the Nigerian Civil War and invested/built
houses, but since the Civil War ended their population had reduced in Iboland. Most can be found in mainly Rivers States and other South-South states.

Some Edo females came back to the Mid-West with pregnancies from being raped
in Iboland prior to and during the early days of the Civil War of 1967-1970, before being expelled with other non-Ibos by the
Secessionists, so that and other acts of insecurity such as kidnappings and vivious armed robberies had prevented a lot of non-Ibos from living in large numbers in the core 5 Eastern States.

A lot of the supposed "Hausa" in the Ibolands are NOT really Hausa but from foreign countries. Hausas don't do maiguard work or sell water (mai ruwa).

Onitsha and Asaba are favorite destinations for non-Ibos such as the Yoruba, Edo, and Hausa traders, business people and other professionals.

Its very easy to hate what u cant acquire.... And in this case u termed it overbilling... My brothers and sisters, NO TOWN IN ANAMBRA collects more dan 50k as brideprice... Am sayin dis with absolute certainty cos i did a journal on culture and its effects on the modern man. I had to interview a lot of traditional rulers and other high profile traditional men. Even my sister's bride price was as little as 20k and tradition demands that u use d money and buy something she will value... Thats Anambra for u. Pls dnt believe everything u hear. One love.
THE QUESTION YOU SHOULD BE ASKING THEM IS WHY ARE THEY TROOPING TO IGBO LAND TO MARRY OUR WOMEN, DOES IT MEAN THAT THEIR YORUBA WOMEN ARE USELESS AND NON MARRIAGEABLE. WHY DONT THEY MARRY THEIR TYPE...IGBO MUST BE VERY SPECIAL. THEY WANT TO MARRY THEIR GUYS AND THEIR MEN WANT TO MARRY OUR GIRLS

THEY ARE FUNNY

On one hand this saddens me because we've allowed foreigners, who would not even replicate this kind of gesture in their home states, represent us. On the other hand I'm happy because it shows Yoruba people are tolerant of other tribes and practise modern democracy devoid of tribalism and ethnic affiliation. On the whole its a win-win for the Yorubas. Its shows that elections were indeed free and fair in Lagos. Can't say the same for the states in other regions, especially the SE and SS.
you did not allow foriegners, Lagos was capital of Nigeria and IGBO AND NIGER DELTA are nigerians so stop giving false impression,is it not your fathers that fought for ALMIGHTY ONE NIGERIA so we should have the one NIGERIA and i am enjoying it pls enjoy and relish it
