hayfay:I sometimes don't know why you people type like this with this silly abbreviations when it's not like you skipped nursery and primary school. Some years ago, I had an ex who used to chat like this with me and I sort of picked up the bad habit. It stopped after we parted ways cos there was no body to communicate with like that. Today, anytime I see facebook posts I made in the past with such writing pattern, I get really ashamed and embarrassed I actually wrote that... I know it's your life and your choice but trust me, it doesn't sell you a good image to someone who is reading you for the first time. Makes it look like you have a bad command/use of English and also makes it look like you're local. Please, I'm not trying to insult you or anything of such. |
girl4rmspace:I think it has to do with the simple phrase that says "life is in phases, men are in sizes". We all at one point in time, had to deal with making do with what our pockets can afford and the higher you get, the more your taste changes. That 50k cannot sort out someone's fueling for car and gen monthly but would sort out someone else's needs. At the end, it boils than our respective basic needs. For a single student or bachelor at a certain level, it would suffice but it wouldn't sort out a married man's needs. That's just my thinking though. |
girl4rmspace:Damn! I once had this in mind but the location where someone suggested to me, and where I resided back then, were miles apart (Ikorodu - Lekki). I still wish to learn it though and my reasons for wanting to learn it, is to keep fit. Also heard it makes one mentally alert... Have you finally found a place? Have you started? How has it been? My major problem with stuffs like this, is continuity. I tend to abandon such moves as soon as I start(especially when I get busy for a while and do not meet up with the schedule). |
Lol. The man must have gotten frustrated with the 50k and in all honesty, 50k can almost not do nothing for some people. The worst thing you can do is to be working and not be able to foot your bills. |
majekdom2:What contradiction is that? Kindly highlight. |
Adaumunocha:Lol. What are you running away from? |
Adaumunocha:Why did you deactivate your second account? |
Adaumunocha:I don't want to work as an accountant. I have my small business that I'm managing and it pays all of my bills and gives me time to do other stuffs. I'm happy with that. Was just giving an opinion on what I feel and know, happens to a lot of accountants. It's a good career path if only you are getting paid well. I know of a colleague who was working with SIAO as an auditor then and was writing ICAN. She now does cake baking and it looks like she's doing very well. |
majekdom2:Well, that was years ago and yes, I'm happy with what I do now as business and I have no regrets whatsoever. I know I earn more than a lot of chartered accountants yearly when I sum up my earnings and I'm happy with that. That doesn't mean accounting is a bad career choice. As a matter of fact, my accounting background has helped me very much in my business. I love to play with figures very well... Was just giving a general assessment of what I know most accountants are facing. There are more than enough chartered accountants in the market who aren't even employed, let alone talk of earning well. I have people who from time to time, ask me to help them link up with any job opportunity and when I go through the resumes they send, quite a number of them are in the accounting field. |
Well, I think chartered accountants in Nigeria should start learning new skills as the market is quite saturated. I noticed this as far back as 2007/08 when I was still writing my ACCA(which I had to leave partially to go hustle). I noticed there were too many chartered accountants around me then, who had the misfortune of earning peanuts just to survive(although, most of them were ICAN chartered). The trend then, was for any accounting student, to register for ICAN/ACCA but very few companies could absorb all the ACAs coming out. Most of them ended up in small audit firms. I know a guy who used to earn 30k then, and was working on the island, and was married with kids... I intend to go back to finish my ACCA just so I can have the certificate but not necessarily to use it in looking for a job. Most chartered accountants end up as auditors and to be sincere, I do not like the auditing part of financial accounting cos I see it as boring. Chartered accountants should look at getting other skills. |
dingbang:Taa!!! Lol. |
All of you saying "complicated" should edit it and type "single". Y'all are dating yourselves. |
Single. These days, I rarely think about being in a relationship, often. |
Dead on arrival. Tell us something else. |
chelsea4su:Like your own. ![]() |
I never knew Nigerians could be this stupid by celebrating this kind of atrocity committed by the government. Anyways, it's obvious you guys deserve the kind of leaders you get. The unfortunate thing is that it is mostly those who can't afford 3 square meals a day or a decent life, that are applauding this level of barbaric act. Kudos to you all. |
She's just there joor. Nothing spectacular. You can't compare her with Chineye Ochuba, munachi Abbi, or some of the former mbgn queens. |
Two fighting;please, nobody should separate them. |
three:Dude not as smart as he thinks...lol. |
Waiting for The Nigerian army to tell you the truth, is like asking the devil to repent and give his life to God. As a matter of fact, it's easier for the devil to repent, than to hear the truth from The Nigerian army. |
Houseofglam7:I get. Which one you want? |
Good job by the police. The killers should be given the capital punishment. You can't take life that you can't create, and expect to be pitied. |
RoyalBoutique:How many of them have you personally verified by yourself, that is making you tell this kind of blatant lie in public? Yes, there are couple of kit cars around but to say "most of the exotic cars in naija" are kits, is actually off. |
Arsenal is getting useless day by day. Can't believe this is the club I've been supporting for 20yrs. ![]() |
A lady once said to me in anger "to hell with you and your nother" and she spent the next day begging and crying on the phone that she was sorry. Well, I loved her dearly but still broke up with her not too long after then cos every time we quarreled, I always remembered that statement. I can't stand my mom being disrespected, and won't tolerate any discord between me and my sisters cos I want to marry someone that I have just met. You made a mistake by not nipping that in the bud on time, or walking away from the relationship. You're already married. You better start reading the riot act and getting firm on her as far as that issue is concerned. |
I'm shocked to see people laugh at this and find this amusing. It just goes to show you the calibre of people one converses with daily on Nairaland, it explains exactly why Nigeria is in the bad shape it is in right now, and further lends credence as to why some westerners see blacks as monkeys, animals and barbarians. In civilized societies, you can't even do this to someone who has committed a grevious offence, and get away with it. Let alone talk of people who are protesting and demanding freedom from a nation they feel has oppressed them. Everything about Nigeria stinks. If I was a foreigner who had the opportunity of visiting this site and I see the way people are applauding such a barbaric act, I'd certainly never step my foot here. This is disgraceful to any nation. |
Mrnairalandd:It's better we don't even have it at all. We don't know Who exactly would be alive to tell the story, or avenge the death of others. Peace isn't a substitute for violence or war. |
larrybabanla:Your brain must be paining you somewhere to address me that way... |
Hmm. A nation where policemen and soldiers engage in armed robbery and kidnapping. Such a sad nation. |
GavelSlam:My message is simple. Seek peace not war cos in a case of war, no one knows who stays alive and who dies first. Peace any day, any time, trumps any reason for war. |
GavelSlam:Look, I'm someone who thinks very deep and ever since Boko Haram brought the issue of suicide bombing into Nigeria which no one ever thought was possible, I've become very wary of things. We've had to discuss the possible use of suicide bombers by Boko Haram in Lagos in the past, and the devastating effects it could have on the inhabitants here. All of these was discussed on a military thread opened by siriusblack on the Operations of the military in the north east. When we talked about it, you didn't come out to say we were making threats on The Nigerian state. I wonder why pointing this out as regards biafra, is now an issue. There are lots of northerners in Lagos and recently, three Boko Haram members were captured in ajao estate. What does that signify? They are still a threat... The long and short of it all, is that nobody should support a war or crisis anywhere with the myopic thinking that it would start and end there. Instead, we should hold the government accountable and press them to do the right thing and follow the right procedure. The amount of hatred I see daily on Nairaland between the yorubas and ibos, should give anyone with a functional brain, serious cause for concern. |
okway2:You must be very new around here... I've always repped where I come from(Edo state) proudly. You can like to bounce along right now. |
