InvertedHammer:Well said. |
missloluwa:Follow your heart. Nobody should kill you for wanting certain standards and if you have to drop below your current standard, make sure it has to be with someone who has genuine and sincere intentions towards you. That way, you wouldn't be losing too much. I personally, have vowed never to date anybody from a poor background no matter how pretty or sincere the person might appear to be. And the reason is this: from my assessment, most people from such backgrounds are hardly totally honest with you cos there's sometimes, this innate desire to get out of that phase of life and it puts pressure on them to do things they really shouldn't be doing. Sometimes, it's as a result of peer pressure. People who come from average of rich backgrounds hardly ever feel the urge to impress a lot of people even if they fall and the simple reason is cos, they have been there before. It's usually not a very easy decision but I still believe people should not marry out of their social status. Average/semi-rich should marry themselves. Semi-rich/very rich should marry themselves. The poor and extremely poor should marry themselves cos it's easier for them to understand themselves since they are from similar backgrounds. The poor often don't think about too much other than let's eat today, make babies and just live life as it comes. Over the holidays, I saw people living in single rooms/room and parlour, tying big ram and cattle in front of their houses just to celebrate sallah and I got peeved. That kind of mentality would hamper a partner who's from the background where they are always thinking of investment and how to turn the next kobo to a few nairas. So, there would always be a clash of ideology. But to everything, there's always an exception but your chances of meeting that exception, might be very slim. |

When idiots are in power, a nation not only suffers, but bleeds. This is the sad story of Nigeria in 2017. |
Lol. Gifty's current set of friends and buddies, should be very careful of her cos they could be the next to be denied tomorrow. |
giftedben:I just weak for them. People are talking like those of us who have been in this from way back, are dead. |
A lot of people are mixing things up here. Firstly, there is nothing that wizkid has done, that no Nigerian musician, has apparently not done before him. He only leveraged on the platform others before him, provided. When stories are told of legends, there are salient key points that are used to buttress that. People talking about 2pac, fail to realize that 2pac didn't just automatically become a legend at death. His body of works released long after his death which were relevant long after he had gone, cemented that title. At his death, he was seen as a gem and a talent that left too soon. Michael Jackson was a legend in life after selling lots of platinum albums in a career that lasted for several decades. Same with people like Prince. 2face could be called a legend cos he set new heights in modern day contemporary Afro pop music in Nigeria, not just cause he had a big hit(african queen). Before the era of the new school, Nigerian Afro, highlife, reggae and juju music was big back then in the 70s-80s and 90s. That was the era where the big international record labels like Sony music and the rest, were in Nigeria. Indomie noodles generation of kids should not just come here and call what is not, something else. I admire and respect all efforts put in by the new school, and I'm proud of what the likes of wizkid, davido, olamide and Co are doing even though I really don't like every material dey release and all that. But y'all should slow down on the legendary status you guys are dishing out. I listened to music from the era of the Sir Shina Peters, Majek fashek, blacky, Tina onwudiwe, KSA, Christian essien igbokwe, Angelique kidjo, ras kimono, Alex o, oritz williki, fela, etc. That was when we had record labels like polygram, Sony, premier, ivory music, etc. That was the era when record labels had structures and music business was run properly. No doubt, these kids would some day become legends in their own right but not just yet. |
logica:Can you itemize with few points, the pace set by wizkid? |
logica:Legends are usually very old stories with little or no evidence to prove them. Legends are often passed on by word-of-mouth. They are very similar to myths. Legends can also be famous or historically significant people, places, art, etc.. That's just a simple English definition from Wikipedia. Some other definition of legends, refers to them as myths believed and told from generation to generation... What exactly makes Wizkid a legend? I'd like to know. Does it mean any famous or popular person is a legend? |
What exactly makes him a legend? Looks like people just throw words around today. |
Damn!!! I really feel embarrassed for people when messy tales of their relationship gets to the public domain. It's one thing to find your details out via a leaking mouth, and it's another thing to get it out from your own mouth intentionally or unintentionally. Sometimes, it could be a mistake and at other times, it could be intentionally but any day any time, I'd prefer no one ever hear my stories irrespective of what happens. Scandals are things I can't deal with and as such, I get really surprised when people grant public interviews to the press about their messy affairs. Celebrities are trying though. |
Cholls:Do what exactly? Lol. |
Well, her life; her business. |
Classless!!! Breast like 100 naira Dunlop bathroom slippers wey bricklayer done press tire. |
folakemigeh:Don't be like that joor... If you can't make it today, we could still do same on Saturday. Same Best Western. If you're game, let me know. I don't bite. ![]() |
folakemigeh:How can a fine girl like you be thinking of stealing? Oya, say God forbid... I'd be at barcelos, Ikeja g.r.a in 7mins time, enroute Best Western;you mind a hangout? |
Piiko:I think it's actually (neo.black.movement) NBM, not neo blackman. |
Futa jallon... *singing* "here comes the men in black.... " |
If you can pay premium, you wouldn't be bothered about this. Those who should be bothered about this, are those who want to drive big cars with small money/tight budget. You can't always eat your cake and have it. |
Homosexuality is first of all, a sin and a mental disorder. If we all decide to be gays and lesbians, who would produce the next generation? If the gays and lesbians had Gay and lesbian parents, would they have been born? People are suffering from mental disorders and the world is encouraging them on, instead of quarantining them and treating them properly. |
Oxenomy:You're right. Same thing with me. As I grow older, I become more careful of mixing with people before they use their reggae to spoil your blues. |
This incident reminds me of something that happened several years ago. I had accompanied a friend of mine to the airport to pick up his brother who just got in. I'd known him and his brother long ago before the dude travelled out to go and sell drugs in Europe... The moment he came out of the arrival hall, all eyes were on him. You could tell straight up that this guy go get illegal waka for body... I booked the cab that took us from the airport, and also booked the hotel where we lodged in Maryland. It wasn't far from my house then. At night, we decided to go enjoy ourselves and I also booked the cab that took us from Maryland to the place at Ikeja gra. Shortly after we left or so, the cab man got a call from his colleagues, asking him who the people he carried were. They said as soon as we left, some armed men stormed the park at the bus stop, shot in the air and looked around like they were searching for someone, and zoomed off as soon as they could not identify their target. The next day, dude checked out and faced Benin and didn't even come out of his house all through his stay in Benin. If anything had happened that day, I would have gotten into trouble and would have been the prime suspect since I was the one who arranged cabs, hotel, club we visited and even the chick he passed the night with. Personally, I suspect he was trailed from the airport. |
Drama queen no one. May I never marry a woman like her. Who counted the over 1000 flies? Don't know how someone would just be lying like a fish. |
kaffy4tope:This is the height of all irresponsibility. How can someone be sleeping and was raped, and didn't wake up? Lord have mercy. |
Nairaland!!! Every day, one problem or the other. It's well though. |
basilo4312:Eedris was the first to charge 1m per show(star mega jam 2004 with 50cents). As at 2007/08 when I contacted Sunday Aare about having mo-hit's perform at a show, he charged about 1.5m or thereabouts and that was for the entire mo-hits crew(not just d'banj). Faze was an option then cos he was hot(that was when he did pkopkotipo and tattoo girl) and he was charging between 500-700k then. |
These guys are making a lot of money from us. See my data usage for the past 3 months. Only today alone, I have used almost 500mb...
|
Picture quality great but video average. How come her vocals do not sync with the picture all through the song? That's a terrible blunder and it makes it look like she's miming the song. This is supposed to be a video to a song, not a practice session/rehearsal. |
Well, I used to listen to lights out with Vien on City Fm before... And that's only at night. There used to be a particular guy that always calls every blessed day to hook up with a lady and he likes big ass and big breasts... If you allow him, He can call to hook up with girls for 365days a week. In my mind, I'd be like: this guy get spiritual problem o. These days, I only listen to sound city fm while driving to and from work cos I get to listen to almost non-stop music. That's the only time I have to listen to radio. |
