You are lost. They call you Igbos because they know you are Igbos. They have been there with you all through.

They knew when your sons were basking in the glory of the Igbo Union, when the Igbo ethnic group was at the peak of her prowess, they knew you took delight in being Igbo then, and they know why some of you are running away from your shadows.

Perhaps you need Prof Ita Sagay to reset you malfunctioning brain again, nkwa I present Mr Sagay therapy to you: https://www.nairaland.com/2858845/prof-sagay-many-igbos-didnt
Itse Sagay? Baby that's Delta politics for you. And truttruth be told, we were not supposed to be part of Delta but for some reasons, we ended up with them and luckily had the capital of a State we were not included in the original plan situated in our area. That's the main reason for the bitter politics in Delta. They felt shortchanged so to remind you that you were not supposed to be in a State were you have the capital, they call you Igbo. But truth be told, we also have so many things in common especially in culture and to some extent, in our worldview which was as a result of having the same origin. Anioma and Igbo don't have anything in common. Our lives are complete opposite, different worldview, different cultures only similar languages which unfortunately is more pronounced. That's why many Nigerians readily label the whole Anioma as Igbo

the same way an Nnewi, Ohafia, Onitsha, Ezzi etc man can't undertand Central Igbo well because they have their various dialects just like Agbor.
Central Igbo is owned by nobody but formulated by Igbo scholars to implement A linguistic understand between various Igbo dialects Speakers.
please stop lying to yourself. If they don't understand central Igbo then it's not central Igbo. An average Igbo man understands at least 90% central Igbo but I can give 50% to my ika people and maybe 70 to the Enuanis.

Are you serious? You are just reaching for straws. Was it not Achuzia an Asaba son that led the Biafran Army that brought down the Niger bridge?

What Anioma leadership is awakening to the fact that Anioma is not Igbo? Cos the last time I checked, the most prominent Anioma traditional leader is the Asagba of Asaba, and he remains a grand patron of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo and a crusader for Igbo unity.

I don't think you know more about Anioma that the erudite professor of Medicine cum traditional ruler of Asaba himself. So you might as well go and park one place.

As long as the entire Nigeria is concerned, Nzeogwu is an Igbo man, because it serves their purpose of selling the "Igbo coup " propaganda, even though never for once had SEners denied Nzeogwu, despite the fact that we were made to bear the full blunt of his actions.

Can you get me a genuine verifiable document to proof that Ndiigbo jettisoned the Anioma state project in place of Ebonyi state creation?

How can we look down on Anioma and still elected Anioma sons to lead Ohanaeze Ndiigbo and Aka Ikenga, both of which are apex and elitist Igbo organisation?

Nwanne, you are talking off point.
Asagba of Asaba is not a recognized king in Delta. A monarch from a tiny Anioma village commands more respect than the Asagba. Please stop saying what you don't know. If you're from the east, you can never understand Deltans. We might have issues with the Urhobos because of politics, but we understand each other more than Anioma and East. They can call us Igbos for political reasons. It's a form of derogatory word for them and they enjoy doing it. It's all because of politics but deep down their hearts, they know the difference between Anioma and igbos.

My understanding is that Languages are distinct (and often times unintelligible to each other), while dialect are variations of a language.

E.g. Igbo is a language, and orlu, umuahia, onitsha, enu-ani and ika (arguably) are dialects.
Yoruba is a language, yet ijebu, ilesha, ibadan all speak different dialects of it.

The conflation came around when the Europeans arrogantly called different Nigerian languages dialects simply because they found all the sounds unintelligible. However, if I was to say the same of English, Dutch, and German, and call them dialects (because they do share similar origins and sound alike), they'd be up in arms.
by your explanation, it shows you have a glimpse of my point. To me, the relationship between language and dialects is only a political creation that's why Esan that's not mutually intelligible can be called a language instead of different languages. Even Chinese is made up of different languages all not mutually intelligible. On the other hand, many mutually intelligible dialects in Europe are classified as different languages. This doesn't make sense at all.

I'm from Anioma but I can only understand about 50% of Central Igbo. A typical Agbor man doesn't know the meaning of words like Odum, Agu, ichie, gburugburu, ju ese, umu azi, I can go on and on. I sat an Igbo friend down last year and began to ask him the meaning of many Igbo words. I was surprised about how little I know

There is a good reason I asked you to do your research before you quote me. I can explain to you but that will be a very difficult task to someone that doesn't have any idea about this. Even linguists debate about this. The difference between language and dialect doesn't have anything to do with linguistics or language. This is a very wide subject so if you want to get an answer, I suggest you do your research. At least google has made everything easier and cheaper

Agbor is a dialect. Can an enuani man in Asaba understand Agbor?
A language is a combination of identical dialects.
Agbor is just like Ohafia dialect, Can you hear Ohafia? Ohafia dialect is different from Onitsha own?
Can you hear onitsha dialect? Does it mean that Ohafia and Onitsha man are different tribes?
Stop saying what you don't know. What is a dialect and what is a language? This question about dialect and language is something even linguists can't answer. Before you quote me, go and make your research because I don't have time to argue with blind people

Real Aniomas don't call themselves Delta Igbo. They call themselves by their real ethnic groups. Anioma has so many different ethnic groups that calling the whole of Anioma Igbo is an insult to the non igbos in Anioma. 98% of my Ika people are from Edoid tribes and they reserve the right to either be igbos or not. Anybody arguing the Edo origin of most Anioma groups is only blinded by prejudice and biased.

Buhari doesn't follow due process. he was asking for emergency power but the truth is he is already exercising such power. Can you explain why Buhari would wake up one morning and sacked 12 VCs? He later admitted he goofed, saying he didn't know he doesn't have such power as a president. What president does that?

Something he doesn't have anan executive power on. Buhari has released Kabiru Sokoto but he's in a confined building under the surveillance of SSS until further notice. I'll get more info and update on this.

I wish I did, but I don't. sad I wouldn't be asking for help if I did. And what's wrong with wanting to hear it straight from the horse's mouth? If I looked hard enough here in Sweden I would probably, at best, find some translator of Nigerian fiction or university professor with limited second-hand knowledge of Nigerian pidgin. I guess I could try to find someone from Nigeria (you have no idea how ethnically segregated Sweden is!), but it would feel weird to ask, and since internet exists, I figured ...

By the way, could "nah" be translated as "that" in this context too?
I don't think so. I think "He" should be more appropriate in this context. This word can be used in many different ways. It's the most common and popular word in Nigerian pidgin

If you would still vote for him, why then are you mourning when the administration is just starting? You haven't seen nothing yet.

This is just showing that they only voted for PMB not because of GEJ incompetence but out of hatred for the 5%

One of such letters by the Iyase was dated November 20, 2012 and addressed to the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN). Titled ‘The boycott of the palace of HRM, Obi of Igbodo by all his subjects’ read in part: “I do not intend to bore your Excellency with details of the case in this memo, but the root of the problem is that the Obi of Igbodo wants to marry an Ebonyi State woman, contrary to the custom and tradition of our people.
In other words, the custom is that the first legitimate wife, who will bear the heir to the throne, must be a native of Igbodo kingdom.”
www.vanguardngr.com/2013/01/raging-controversy-over-obi-of-igbodos-marriage-to-non-indigene/

Read the last part of the above article.
Igbodo kings are only allowed to marry from Igbodo and no other place. This is according to Igbodo prime minister, the Iyase.

I'm an Ika man and I should be the one to tell you about our culture. Don't depend solely on what you read online. Anioma kings can marry from any Anioma kingdom because we see ourselves as one sharing one culture and traditions. That is how it is said in all Anioma communities but many Anioma kings have married from other other clans without any problems. I seen many kingdoms have problems with their kings for trying to marry outside Anioma land. the only place some Anioma king can marry from outside Anioma land is from some families in Benin.

Lol! Igbodo monarch must marry from Igbodo, the queen was rejected not because she hailed from Ebonyi, but because she wasn't from Igbodo, stop twisting facts.

What is an average Ika man? Ika is an ever changing concept, there are even some Agbor elements who sees the term "Ika" as an anti Agbor concept.

Nevertheless, Igbodo is as Ika as they come, you a Bini wanna be has no right to tell us who is Ika or who isn't.

When Onitsha was over ran by the Nigerian military, did the Army not camp in Onitsha? Did the Obi of Onitsha have any option but to play to their tunes to save his people? What about when Enugu fell? Did Enugu not serve as Nigerian military base from where they launched attack into Igbo hinterland? Umunede case was not special.

Ika kings marry from other Ika communities. It's a matter of shared culture. . Don't say what you don't know. Umunede was never overran because it wasn't part of Biafra.
