I'm a Niger Deltan but I'm not ijaw but truth be told, they're the most affected by environment. Carrying out any project in Ijaw land costs almost 4x it's normal amount and people come here to ask about 13% derivative. What's 13 derivative in carrying out projects in this riverine communities?

The awareness has always been there and I'm sure you'll be honest enough to admit it. The issue has been the methodology.

I'm not asking the avengers to stop the campaign of destruction but you and I know that it'll end up the same way that of tompolo and asari ended and that is creation of more billionaires, cult leaders etc in the region.

What are your representatives at the NASS doing? Are they also ready to suffer deprivations with you? Don't you think more noise and effect will be achieved if Ben Bruce and his colleagues reject their salaries, cars and allowances to show disdain for the fiscal structure of the country?
Rejecting their salaries is plain stupidity. btw, you don't expect the elite to fight this kind of war. Politicians only fight wars that favor them directly and don't give a damn about the people they represent. The best approach to this would have been dialogue but the government are not ready for dialogue. they're only interested in bribing the militants and postpone the evil day without addressing the injustice they're fighting. And this present set of militants made it known they're not accepting bribes. I don't know who their sponsor is and I don't know what their sponsors really want but whatever it is they are fighting for, it's good to the Niger Deltans. The awareness hasn't been there. People just remember there's a region called Niger Delta that is sustaining the nation and people know they're suffering without doing anything about it. that's not the awareness I'm talking about. have you ever been to an Ijaw community before. Have you ever been in a village where you need millions of Naira before you can lay a foundation? have you ever been in a village where pure water, biscuits, coke, medicine would finish in the whole community at once and there would be no where close by to get it? do you know the pains the ijaws pass through everyday? and the compensation given to them by God you come and take it away in the name of unity without sharing in their pains. it's injustice. There's no other approach to get to the government apart from force. that's the only language they understand. The day people start killing Fulani herdsmen is the day you hear from buhari about their issues. he's been quiet because people have been tolerating their excesses. I bet you the day Niger Delta Avengers drop their guns is the day this government sweet their case under the carpet.

I like your tone my friend.

Na morning dey tell us how evening go be.

Tell me, how did the first revolution go? The one that turned tompolo, asari into billionaires? That's exactly how this will go cheesy

I believe you don't mind but at least I want the goons masturbating over a "buhari pain" to develop some perspective. However it goes, we know who the losers and gainers will be wink
That the first one failed doesn't mean this would fail. Even if it fails, at least they've created an awareness to the injustice being meted against the Niger Deltans. which approach would you they rather take? the Federal government are corrupt so also the Niger Delta leaders. the fight is not for leaders but it's for the average Niger Deltans

How much suffering visited the family of the Greek prime minister during their financial meltdown other than loss of office?

How much suffering is Salvir Kiir of south Sudan going through in the idiotic civil war going on in his country?

What did ojukwu lose from the 3 yr misery of Biafra? He even got his properties back while thousands of his followers lost everything in the abandoned property saga in the Niger Delta

President's problems indeed! cheesy cheesy
So because revolutions don't affect the leaders you're against it? Revolutions a re not targeted against leaders but it's aimed at changing any bad policy and injustice

Nairaland / General / Re: You Lied, anioma Is Igbo &part Of Biafra,t/ruler Of Ukwuani Tells Gov. Okowa by chukzyblingz(m): 8:46am On Jun 08, 2016
FREEDOMLOVER:
OUR RESPECTUL FATHER THE TRADITIONAL LEADER OF UKWUANI IN DELTA STATE, MAZI OKPALA UKWU EDUCATING ONE OF THE HAUSA-FULANI SERVANT IN OUR LAND:

You Lied, Anioma Is Igbo And Part Of Biafra, Traditional Ruler of Ukwuani Tells Gov. Okowa

It is said that those who do not know their history always pick any story about who they are and run with it.

The effect of the military intelligence and propaganda onslaught during the Nigeria versus Biafra war by the Nigerian federal troop against the people of Igbo extraction, who were viewed, though erroneously, as the sole ethnic group that make up Biafra, has not been completely eliminated.. This created enormous distortion of pyschology and conmittant erroneous distortion of history among Igbo speaking people within the ancient Biafran region.

Recently, the governor of Delta State Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, was quoted of saying that Anioma, though they speak Igbo are not Igbo and so not part of Biafra. He warned the Biafran agitators to steer clear of his state, Delta.

Though, most or majority of Anioma people accept their Igbo ancestry, but so many ugly politics has been played since the war ended with the identity of Anioma or Ika people.

The best people to tell children who they are are indeed the elders, they are masters of history and custodians of tradtion and culture. So, who is the best person to tell it the way it is other than the traditional ruler of Ukwuani in Anioma?

The traditional ruler of Ukwuani in Anioma Local government of Delta state, Okpala Ukwu emphatically told the governor of Delta state that he lied about Anioma and their ancestry.

The aged traditional ruler seen here in the photo told the media that, the governor lied and said that Anioma people are Igbo and therefore part of Biafra.

But there is a saying that goes this way “those who where present during burial can tell where the head of the corpse lies”. Those who are custodians of tradition and masters of their history can veritably tell who they are and narrate their history.

Though many argued that Gov. Okowa has deep knowledge that Anioma is Igbo but he, as a sitting governor, cannot openly support those agitating for sovereign state. Some argued that the best thing was for him to remain mute about the agitation instead of making efforts to rewrite the history of Anioma people.

A great number of Anioma scholars both at home and in diaspora have been very emphatic about the Igbo ancestry of Anioma people. Though a small number of them have deep hatred traced to the wartime propaganda, which still eoches in some quarters till this day.

Though the words from the aged traditional ruler may reaffirm the stand of the majority of Anioma people, it will not douce the fire amongst those who do not want to be counted as Igbo and consequently Biafra.

https://therepublicannews./2016/06/07/you-lied-anioma-is-igbo-and-part-of-biafra-traditional-ruler-of-ukwuani-tells-gov-okwwa/
your post is full of inconsistencies.

so you want to pay the same fees as Ghanaian students pay? Did you go through the various levels or you just jumped in? Do your parents live and work in this country, for which they pay the various taxes our parents pay which goes into education subsidisation? So, on what logical point can you State for which your fees should be the same as mine ; cos you are African? What a farce
it would have been OK if it's only school fees but it's not. I'm running a program in Ghana but it's not in a Ghanaian school - it's an Indian school. Ghanaians know I'm not Ghanaian by mere looking at me. Whenever I want to buy anything, they always inflate the price. I have many examples of when I almost had problems with Ghanaian workmen. It's unfair. I'm not complaining because I have the money to pay. Ghanaians charge Nigerians high because an average Ghanaian believes that Nigerians have money. What about the other foreigners that don't have money? Is that the price they pay for living in your country? Does other African countries do same to you in their country?

at least, the poorest in Ghana who makes 20 cedis a day can afford to put food on his table. 20 cedis is equivalent to USD 5.35, 20 cedis is N1020 in nigeria. Minimum wage in nigeria, which is calculateld on the monthly basis is 18000 naira. so why don't you do the maths?
the poorest don't make 20 cedis. An average Ghanaian find it difficult to make 20 cedis. The standard of living is so low. And things are extremely expensive the reason why most Ghanaians can't afford luxury goods. Ghana is a good country but but extremely jealous. I'm not against Ghana in any way but I just want to make the record straight because of some people that think Ghana is paradise.

We need to work for peace, not split up the country. Togo's peace is the peace of the graveyard, caused by a dictatorship that has been in power for donkey years. Eyadema ruled them for 38 years, then died in 2005, and his SON took over, and has been in power for almost 12 years now! That's the sort of nonsense that happens in small countries like the one you wish to become. Easily exploited. Easy to establish dictatorships, including family dictatorships... Little or no economic prospects (By contrast, Nigeria is projected to become the 6th largest economy on earth within the next 15 - 20 years, surpassing the likes of Germany, France and the UK!

You want to forgo all that and slither into insignificance because of the antics of a few illiterates in Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen??

Really??

And there is no guarantee that your new ethnic republic will be 'peaceful' either. Certain groups will still feel 'marginalized'. And it would be easier to start wars. Just ask the warlords of South Sudan, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Work for peace? You want to teach northern Muslim ethno-religious tolerance? Would they ever learn? The answer is No. Nigeria is not a country, that's just the truth. Nigeria was built on a wrong foundation.

DSTV recently cancelled the airing of transgender show, I Am Cait, across Africa, owing to the objection of its Nigerian subscribers, in a move that has South Africans fuming, and up in arms over what they consider Nigeria's undue influence over what goes on on the continent.

If the ethnic separatists get their tiny fiefdoms, all that is GONE. You will become a Togo. A Gambia. A Sierra Leone. A Burundi. Insignificant little players. Does anybody ask the Togolese what they think on any issue? NOPE. Their job in Togo is to keep quiet and take orders from the big players on the continent and beyond. When you get your tiny ethnic country, you will grow in insignificance. A visit by the president of Kenya will be as if the US president came. So glad you will be to be noticed by your Kenyan bosses. When they are counting Africa's top economies, your new ethnic republic will be at number 43, if you're lucky. Top militaries? Maybe number 47. If the IMF or the US or France command you to devalue your currency or open up your market for imports etc, you DARE NOT argue with them or they'll crush you.

Nigeria is a task we need to work on, till we succeed. The alternatives are too terrible to contemplate. Smallness is grossly overrated in this country.
A Togo with peace is much more better than a giant Nigeria without
Peace. Nigeria is not a country. I've traveled to some countries and I don't see an Hausa man as the same country when I see him in a foreign country even when people tell me he's my person.
