Why doesnt this guy just run for governorship in his state? ![]() |
alj_harem:@ Bolded, I agree. |
alj_harem:What have dangote and adenuga? Nothing. If not from the criminal deals the OBJ made with them that enabled them to have monopolies, where would they be? LMAO! ![]() Those two are not achievers, sorry. ![]() Up up Aunty Ngozi! ![]() |
@OP, you're an idiott. Obviously this report is beyond your comprehension. The subsidies are going to be removed no time soon but until the economy(which includes the citizens) is booming and more defined. Have you ever heard of the "Reform Agenda"? Read the quote below slowly, then read it again. That should help with understanding why there is even a subsidy: Nigeria has to import most of its fuel needs due to a lack of investment in refining infrastructure. The increased costs associated with fuel importation and corruption within the industry means the government pays costly subsidies to temper the price for Nigerians |
Anyim, Okonjo-Iweala, others for S’East Economic Summit From PETRUS OBI, Enugu Monday, August 22, 2011 Former Senate President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Anyim Pius Anyim and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala are among dignitaries billed to participate in the forthcoming South-east Economic Summit. While Anyim is the chairman of a panel to discuss the future of the political future of the zone and its economic implications, the former managing director of the World Bank, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala will deliver the keynote address. Chairman of the Planning Committee, Chief Chris Obiefuna, who told newsmen in Enugu that the dignitaries had confirmed their participation at the summit also disclosed that the owner of the Songhai Farms, the largest farm in Africa, Revd Fr. Godfrey Nzamujo would deliver the lead paper on Agriculture at the summit. Said he: “A likely revelation of the summit is the Founder/Director of the world acclaimed Songhai Agriculture Centre in Port Novo, Republic of Benin, Revd Fr. Godfrey Nzamujo, who will deliver one of the Lead Papers on agriculture at the summit.” The Songhai Centre, which has a 6000-hectares farm has become one of the globally recognized resource centres of excellence in agriculture and a Mecca of sort to most state governments in Nigeria seeking some ingenious agricultural initiatives. Chief Obiefuna expressed satisfaction with the level of preparations at the summit scheduled at Nike Lake Hotel Enugu, from Thursday1, to Friday 2, September this year and which had already received the blessings of the South-east governors. He expressed joy that “over 90 percent of the resource persons have confirmed their participation. Top on the list is the former managing director of the World Bank and Minister of Finance of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who will deliver the keynote address at the summit. “Others who have confirmed their participation include Prof. Emmanuel Nnadozie, who is the executive director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa/ NEPAD Division based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Prof. Anya O. Anya who will deliver one of the Lead Papers in the Political Agenda Session. “There is also the world renowned scientist and current Minister of Power & Steel in Nigeria, Prof. Barth Nnaji, who will speak on Transforming Nigeria’s Power Sector: Benefits for South-east Nigeria. A seasoned and renowned Economist, Prof. Ukwu I. Ukwu, who will deliver a Lead Paper on Strategic Plans for the Industrialization of South-east Nigeria has also confirmed his participation.” Among other things, the summit is aimed at finding practical solutions and strategy to turn around the deplorable state of the economy of the zone as a contiguous economic bloc. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2011/aug/22/national-22-08-2011-018.html |
“21. The National Judicial Council shall have power to - (a) Recommend to the President from among the list of persons submitted to it by - (i) the Federal Judicial Service Commission, persons for appointment to the offices of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, the Justices of the Supreme Court, the President and Justices of the Court of Appeal, the Chief Judge and Judges of the Federal High Court, and (ii) the Judicial Service Committee of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, persons for appointment to the offices of the Chief Judge and Judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the Grand Kadi and Kadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and the President and Judges of the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja; (b) recommend to the President the removal from office of the judicial officers specified in sub-paragraph (a) of this paragraph and to exercise disciplinary control over such officers; (c) recommend to the Governors from among the list of persons submitted to it by the State Judicial Service Commissions persons for appointments to the offices of the Chief Judges of the States and Judges of the High Courts of the States, the Grand Kadis and Kadis of the Sharia Courts of Appeal of the States and the Presidents and Judges of the Customary Courts of Appeal of the States; (d) Recommend to the Governors the removal from the office of the judicial officers in sub-paragraph (c) of this paragraph, and to exercise disciplinary control over such officers. (e) Collect, control and disburse all moneys, capital and recurrent, for the judiciary; (f) Advise the President and Governors or any matter pertaining to the judiciary as may be referred to the Council by the President or the Governors; (g) Appoint, dismiss and exercise disciplinary control over members and staff of the Council; (h) Control and disburse all monies, capital and recurrent; for the services of the Council; and (i) Deal with all other matters relating to broad issues of policy and administration.” Now of all the functions specified above, members of council only participate in and or are only aware of A-D. The rest are presumed to be performed by the Chairman and or staff of Council. The Constitution on the role of lawyers in the NJC provides of paragraph 20 of the Third Schedule thus: “(i) five members of the Nigerian Bar Association who have been qualified to practice for a period of not less than fifteen years, at least one of whom shall be a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, appointed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria on the recommendation of the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association to serve for two years and subject to re-appointment. Provided that the five members shall sit in the Council only for the purposes of considering the names of persons for appointment to the superior courts of record;” While it is correct that paragraph 20 quoted above limits the participation in council of legal practitioners; until about 3 weeks ago legal practitioners have always been in attendance at every council session. The rationale for their participation I gather was hinged on the fact that to properly perform their duty as it relates to appointment, they needed to know the disciplinary records of serving judges so that they could be seised of all facts when elevation to appellate courts and appointment as Head of Court are being considered. It was also thought since he who could appoint could also dismiss, the stipulation could purposefully be interpreted to accommodate the participation of legal practitioners at all stages of Council proceedings. |
Negro_Ntns:Um, the there is a reason why both Okonjo-Iweala and Sanusi are both in the Economic Team, genius. |
This confirms that outside of Zoology, Goodluck Jonathan is an idiott. Why would you add a man (dangote) to the economic team when he is clearly holding monopolies on numerous resources truncating competition which suppressing the countries economic growth? This is a DIRECT CONFLICT, assuming that the move is for the greater good of the people and not individual interest. Why is Jonathan's moves looking so repetitive and O so familiar? Can we say like, OBJ! |
Jonathan Expands Economic Management Team 20 Aug 2011 By Ahamefula Ogbu President Goodluck Jonathan Friday expanded the Economic Management Team inaugurated Wednesday by including business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru and two others. The President has also set up a 15-member Economic Implementation Team headed by Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Other new members of the economic team are Managing Director of Access bank, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede and the President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Kola Jamodu. The 15-member implementation team is charged with overseeing the effective implementation of the decisions of the Economic Management Team and is expected to meet weekly to help ensure that the goals of the federal government is attained. Apart from Iweala who heads the implementation team, other members are Ministers of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke; Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Adesina Akinwunmi; Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga; Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen; Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu; Minister of State (Finance) Yerima Lawal Ngama and Minister of State (Health) Mohammed Ali Pate. Others are Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Professor Nwanze Okidigbe; Special Adviser to the President on Monitoring and Evaluation, Professor Sylvester Monye; Director General, Budget Office, Bright Okogwu and the Director General Bureau of Public Enterprises, Bola Onogoruwa. Jonathan after watching a power point presentation on "Transforming Nigeria/Creating Jobs – A Short to Medium Term Agenda" by Okonjo-Iweala directed the new body to meet weekly while the enlarged EMT will meet fortnightly for the next three months and thereafter, monthly. The team deliberated on the theme of the presentation as well as on how to achieve macro-economic stability as well as ensuring significant strides in infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, education, health and housing. Meanwhile, rumour, which wafted through newsrooms last night that the Finance Minister Okonjo-Iweala has resigned her position, has been doused. An online blog had alleged Okonjo-Iweala had thrown in the towel, citing allegedly the enormity of the problems before her and saying she was not a magician. But its all lies, says the minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Information and Communication, Paul C Nwabuikwu. He said: “The information is completely false and without foundation. We are aware that the baseless falsehood is part of the ongoing orchestrated campaign by entrenched interests and corrupt groups working against more transparent and improved governance in the country. “The obvious intention is to distract Dr Okonjo-Iweala from contributing to the realisation of the vision of President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria. This intention will not be achieved because Dr Okonjo-Iweala will not be distracted.” http://www.thisdayonline.com/ |

ChinenyeN:Thank you. |
It's british. |
Nothing has changed. The price was "lowered" before just to keep a shut on GEJ. This was preplanned. Dangote is just making up for the short profit loss due to the short lowering of the cement price. How does nigeria expect to move forward in full force economically when they continue to let this ONE man(Dangote) have multiple monopolies or important resources. The quicker nigeria breaks up, the better. |
alj_harem:Yea, that's how your yoruba women got beads. Never forget that. |
tpia@:How are you goin to come here and tell us what our women do and don't weear? lol. Ok, since you know so much, what do Igbo women wear? Pictures too pls. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://migrationstoriesofnigerianigbo.files./2009/11/igbo.jpg%3Fw%3D264%26h%3D310&imgrefurl=http://migrationstoriesofnigerianigbo./category/ndi-igbo/&usg=__g44Kw8UtpzfQFGuEnSdsRH9Bjx0=&h=351&w=264&sz=25&hl=en&start=461&zoom=1&tbnid=ncEhx0vmbgKY4M:&tbnh=120&tbnw=90&ei=IJxOTp-tI8GtgQfZsMGPBw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Digbo%2Bwomen%26start%3D441%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1 |
They not gone shyt but complain then settle like always. Sad to say. Any way, I guess this is a good opportunity for the Rochas administration to take advantage us. Ndigbo need to think back home. They should have expected this. Haba! |
Thanks saving nigeria by annulling the 1993 elections; stopping what would have been mass looting of the treasury. Also that you for make Asaba the capital of Delta State. ![]() |
alj_harem:Funny thing is that NONE of the links you posted had Itsekiris claiming they are Yoruba. Try this. AN actual source from Itsekiri themselves: http://www.itsekiri.org/files/history/history.php 2. yes they are more than Igbos due to personal expreience in the stateO so we are going off of YOUR personal experience(which is even questionable),lol? Nothing to back up what you said, right? Exactly. 3. history books wrote igbos were in the north and did not talk of yorubas in the north.Again unless u have lived int he north there is no really point in me discussing with u here. history books did not put that there are hausa people more than igbos in the state (lagos)Wrong, yorubas were said to be more home bound and igbos more spread out and found in large numbers in the north. The Europeans has noted this time after time. In fact, forget europeans, your former politicians as as far back as the 50s even noted that, lol. Funny, Did i tell u i didnt live in the north? and is the North 1 state? i guess you've been everywhere including everyone's home in the north, ![]() cross river has more yorubas than igbos to the extent that there are cutural infulenceSo you insulted yourself by posting this link and you didnt even catch it. The article is saying, there is NO SUCH YORUBA INFLUENCE IN CROSS RIVER STATE SO YOU(the yoruba girl) BETTER GET WITH THE PROGRAM,lol Quote from the article: The Yoruba gari, which is fermented far longer, is reserved mainly for drinking and interestingly is something of a delicacy. In the South-South, both raw gari and cooked gari are called gari. To the Yoruba, raw gari is gari and cooked gari is eba. So the joke is on the Yoruba who do not understand that there is an art to the eating of rocks. In fact the article doesnt even relate or make sense. Are you ok? 5. Lol Grin Grin Grin Grin Wink again chyz that is why i ike discussing with uI know. It's a part of my free education package to you. 6. there is nothing like igbo in serri leano a serri leanoian comfimed so and history but as USUAL people like andre ohaneze are quick to claim Wink Grin Grin there is nothing like igbo in serri leano history unless we go to nigeria were you people feed us lies. again i stand to be correctedhttp://74.6.238.254/search/srpcache?ei=UTF-8&p=igbo+slaves+in+sierra+leone&fr=fptb-tyc-s&u=http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=igbo+slaves+in+sierra+leone&d=4784907360734182&mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&w=a00d2913,cb46e84c&icp=1&.intl=us&sig=JQHdmOS0zqDjdqkEB8OkKA-- There's more btw, google it. ![]() 7. http://www.amstat.org/sections/srms/proceedings/y2007/Files/JSM2007-000561.pdfSo we both can agree this is crap. 8. again as i said apoi ijaw etc were never counted as yoruba, but groups like apoi ijaw chose to relate with yoruba, no one is forcing them but same can not be said of Ika and ikwerre u people fight and force for them to say they are igbos.Same can be said about the Ika and Ikwerre because the Apoi-IJAW are an Ijaw clan, not a yoruba clan. Ika and Ikwere are Igbo clans. ![]() 9. http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/3624-igbos-quest-annex-niger-delta.html 10. I was serious when I did my first and second post on this thread but if Andre is not serious with it as he kept claiming and suggesting without reading my analysis and counter analysis it then i can as well piss him off tonightHaba! ![]() |
alj_harem:I was going to stay out of this but you mentioned my state and talked falsely about it. 1. Yorubas are not in Delta State, period. If you want to include itsekiri(they never said they are yoruba btw) they are still no way near the population of Igbos in Delta state-FACT. 2. Yorubas are nowhere at par of close to the population of Igbos in Rivers state. Rivers is an Igbo stay, dont forget that. 3. Yorubas being more than the Igbos in the NW and NE, i laugh out loud because even history books made it clear that Ndigbo was the most populous southern group in the north since the 60s, unless im missing something . Unless there was a mass exodus of yorubas to the north some time recently. Sure there are millions of yorubas in the north but not as many as Igbo-FACT.4. Cross Rivers State? You're not even serious. ![]() 5. Never and will never have more yorubas than Igbos. We flocked there in the thousands and we also have indigenous Igbos there. Now as for the Governor Saswam, he congratualted and honored Ndigbo for bring staunch economic enhancement to the state. I know this because I posted an article on it. GO into the search engine. ![]() 6. 12% of the slave brought to Sierra Leone were Ndigbo-FACT . These Igbos brought there were dedicated to their clan and did not come to know themselves being under a classification of "Igbo". Check out Isuama. 7. Ethnic census in 1991 Which president did this and what census organization? Where are the results of each of the non-indigenous ethnic groups per state? There must have been a video of this announcement, where is the video? Lets compare these numbers with the appropriate voting age of those who voted during the 1993 presidential election.Even though that is a little stretch at least we are working with something and can weed things out.8. Igala, Nupe, Apoi-IJAW are not yoruba! Stop claiming groups. Itsekiri is fine but the others, especially Nupe are no-nos.(We aint taking about relation brotha). 9. Opobo was never counted as Igbo so stop lying. 10. Stop all the nonsense lets not make gross claims, especially when facts are all over the net. I'm not saying a whole population of one group is more than the other but lets get serious, dued. |
You're funny. |
Yes we did. It was actually African muslims called the Moors. http://www.blackhistoryjohnmoore.bravehost.com/moors.html |
