Ekeson, u re my brother and also a friend but I must tell you openly to refrain from all this ur ranking dis and ranking that because it's your recent post about ranking that brought about the arguments. We have treated dis matter long ago. So it will be in-appropriate for you or any other person(s) to re-surface the matter.

I can recall that same thing happened last year when you tried to compare Rhine waal with Uni lag.

I am not d type that talk much or brag. Infact, my school hosts one of the best solid state research in germany and also among d top best universities in world for material science and engineering.

Pls, enough of this and let's respect ourselves.

Congrats to all those who ve recieved their visa and to those still waiting take a chill pill....

At this juncture I would like to chip in some advise on stuffs you need..for the guys try to come with some good jeans (they re expensive in Germany) a good jean in germany will set u back with about 80 - 100 euros..even if some may refer to ours as Aba made but try to get some good ones the weather and neat environment will nt allow them to fade with time....also try to come with some nice shoes too..buyin a good sneakers for 150 euros (nike) or a boot for abt 200box (timberland) is not something you wanna do within ur first few mths ..its easier to buy these stuffs when you start workin here and earning euros rather than use ur naira converted to euros for such...

and when you arrive ..you polly gonna live in a furnished apartment but the kitchen untensils may nt be there for these visit Tedi ein euro shop...the shop is in every city just use ur google map..you can get cheap household stuffs there and also some writing materials.

for those whose German re up to scracth you can register
www.jobruf.de
https://www.studenten-vermittlung.com/home
Jonweise.de
And also check ur sch job portals.

to check for some jobs within ur state.these jobs dont require working permit..they re just for hrs (3 to 4 ) and the pay is 10euros pro stunde.(its legal)...

all the best.

i ve to run now I will edit the post later...

I wonder when it has become a crime for someone to air his/her harmless views. That is the problem with Nigerians. The guys is concerned about his future and someone is telling him that if he doesn't like it that he should move to other countries as if he did not see other countries before choosing to study in Germany.

The story he just shared is everywhere on the news and internet. And someone is telling him to come up with a proof. I feel for those refugee fleeing their country because of war. My heart goes out for them.

Sentiments has made some of us to want to dispute the fact that we don't know what this Arabs are capable of. How do you differentiate between suicide bombers and real asylum seekers? It will be absolutely impossible to conduct a screening to know exactly who this refugees truly are.

No one is taking about religion here but the eminent danger ahead.

It is a crime when your views re xenophobic and is aimed at spreading fears based on false news , misleading information or just stereotypes...and the reason is that such spread of hatred as we ve seen in the past ( south africa xenophobic attack) often leads to bigger problem

Which news....

The problem with you guys ( those sharing xenophobic views ) is that you guys are close minded

And to think you guys re educated..and still ve such mindset is something else bros...Bonded by Dogmas (no critical thinking...just wanna believe anything you re told )and takin stereotypes to another level.

An MBA student falsifyin news in this age to please himself..

Here is the link to what really happened.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/dresden-riots-protesters-in-germany-attack-refugee-buses-shouting-foreigners-out-10467287.html

My frnd dont spread misleading information....The story you guys re claimin happened somewhere in dresden snd the case of arson is still been investigated ...Merkel was booed by the some far left supporters( funny some 24 yrs ago same pple did everything to cross the berlin wall in search of a better life in western Germany).

And you my friend ...you think you know better than the authorities and you think the govt has not taken this into consideration? Or do you expect them to reveal their security measures to you...obviously you dont understand this country.. it is highly regulated.

@Kingsleyemike

Those countries re listed there because extremist have training camps in them and nt because they re arab countries..and the govt is nt that foolish they sure ve a way to keep track...maybe when you get to Germany and you see for yourself how things re regulated you will share a separate view.

You can as well apply to Hungary or slovenia....Stop the hypocrisy...its the same attitude towards foreigners that makes the free education possible...

Lastly

I advise you all to drop your ego ....I read somewhere someone tryin to classify migrants...calling some assylum seekers and some intl students...we all migrate for one reason and that is to search for a better life how we acheive this maybe different but at the end we re all humans...if you dont drop such ego...you will be shocked when you get to Germany.

Its funny how same set of pple who want everything to be free( with statements like this: govt shld subsidize accomodation for intl students, can I be exempted fron statutory health insurance) dont want the govt to help pple fleein war...

First thing, I do not think all Asians are Chinese. (That's a ridiculous thing to say. Only an idiot thinks that all Asians are Chinese! ). And I'm not judging these guys... We are all entitled to our opinions...
Even though I do feel bad about what's happening to these people, I can't help but fear what's coming along with them. I'm not German. And I'm not complaining about them coming to Europe or about them getting help. I also do welcome them and my heart goes out to them...
That doesn't mean that I am not afraid of what they are capable of.
if u read clearly I had written culture... I do not have a fear for Islam for I have studied the religion and I understand it to an extent.... Nobody talked about Islam. And no, I do not judge a book by its cover. I judge it by the contents. Good night ya'll. and let's be done with refugees before we start calling eachother names over things that are not our business.

They will not leave their culture behind. They will start to misbehave and protest and cause trouble even after all the help given to them... Italy is less Organised and that's where these guys really do their bullshit... I called them names out of anger cause of things I was told by some family friends about them...
Hopefully all this will be controlled in time. Or these guys will change their ways... Just don't want it to be that Europe is welcoming with open arms, an army...

Things you were told....smh...talkin abt stereotypes all Nigerians re viewed as drug dealers or fraudsters ..does that make you a fraudster or drug dealer ..I bet you think all asians re chinese too.

The rise of Islamophobia is sickening to say the least...If I m to take a swipe at Religion I will take a swipe at all organised religion....shld I remind you abt the slave trade by the early missionaries or how christainity was spread

Never you judge a book by its cover.. .

Funny how migrants share such sentiments especisöly Nigerians who cried foul when south africans were on rampage...it starts from such places...the hatred accumulates and soon u ve attacks .

God bless you too for havin an open heart and seeing the sufferings of the migrants.

Bros thats the plain truth...public opinion polls shows that majority of germans re in support although they ve security concern.

I tell you if you re migrating to a country do yourself study the core values of the state you intend to reside....Germany is a liberal state with a friendly immigration policy...if you dont like it..Go to the Uk or Australia ( Australia even pay smugglers to return boats( and the uk can deport anything deportable.

But if you decide to come to Germany ...keep your anti immigrant sentiment to yourself

Enough talk abt refugees ...enough talk abt if it ss right or wrong..decision has been made....800,000 applications will be recieved this year whwther you like it or not...if you wanna debate abr such topic create a thread for that I will be more than glad to share my views but for now lets stay on topic

The german state is built on values and to the govt these values must be upheld at all time...

I feel ashamed when I hear migrants cryin more than Germans .So I m gonna put it blunt just the way I see it..

If you dont like it and you re in Germany...take the next flight and go home...

If you re in Nigeria and you dont like the fact that Germans re accepting refugees...stay back in Nigeria ..if your visa has been issued call the consulate to revoke or cancel the visa.

Simple.

They ve done it before after WW II accepting migrant workers to help build the country....the number of turks in this country is abt 5million....yet somehow everyone gets along.

LOL...see national debate.
@Ogagajay, Nigeria is not in any way regarded as native speakers of English as its not pur mother tongue, may be in years to come when we loose our mother tongues completely (God forbid) like Singapore (by the way, their English don turn Singlish) we may get that status, and what's applicable to school, (in fact, department A) might not be applicable to B.
And for those waiting for visa and are unecessarily under pressure, just suck on this stats
Admission: January 3rd
Booked for visa: May 1st
Date given: July 1st
Visa Approval: Not yet
present date: September 4th
May be I have some of the blame, but when you look that up, I hope it gives you the confidence to man up, gulp down a few bottles (whichever one takes your fancy), kick back and relax with a cool smile and let your imagination explore the beauty of Germany, of course, with you in the scenery.

IF BY SCHENGEN VISA U MEANT VISIT OR TOURIST VISA, the answer is NO, NO NO. The only way u can convert it is
A: seek asylum. (Which sucks)
B: be heavily pregnant and have a person with a work permit in Germany who claims he is responsible u( which I doubt is the case.)
C: complicated health problems( this only delays ur coming back, not gives u a permit.
D: be highly skilled and find a company or whatever that wants u asap, then u can stay without a problem.
Bottom line u cannot apply for a work permit in Germany as a tourist. It cannot be converted except on extremely special occasions

He cannot apply for assylum...his fingerprints were taken at the embassy and the documents he submitted for the schengen visa is in his file.....for u to seek assylum u ve to prove that u country is at war or u risk been jailed without fair trial or u gay and risk jail term or u ve health issues which cant be treated in yr home con3......if he seek assylum he will be denied, deported and banned.

Ur case will nt fly unless u decide to go underground for like a yr and then all of a sudden show up with german kid.. maybe then the immigration lawyers can work out something..

My advise

Bros go Home pls...

Good day all,
Been a while and i hope we are all finding the journey to Deutschland very smooth.
I am here on the defense of the veterans like me who don't comment here anymore, using my own situation. Most times when i come on this forum, i am faced with the challenge of reading like 20 pages, because this thread is very active, few people will argue against that. And most of this queries when i read them have always been answered eloquently, so I don't see any need to add more if i consider that i have to go to class, go to work, read on my own and also cook, it saves me hours and one thing i realised missing is the life here in Germany which some other guys have equally made comments about. It is not easy combining studies and working and also coming here every now and then to make comments, the time is not even there because when you go to class, you will do more self study and there is nothing like area of concentration for exams, you have to know and study everything.
And about the language, you really have to do something from Nigeria to get the basics before coming cos if you don't, you may be frustrated at first with life over here. Learning in Naija would help ur writing and reading a lot and knowledge of words, though you may have little problem with hearing and speaking cos of our accent. The language is key for job opportunities, most germans know basic english and only struggle with vocabularies but will never speak english to you when you apply for work and only few will do. If you need to buy something from them, they will gladly do even when they are struggling with it as we struggle with theirs.
About life here, different strokes for different folks, so it depends on luck and ur zeal and like i always tell people, if you think you can be here as a student and think you will be making money to build mansion in Nigeria, you are on your own but atleast you will make money to fend for urself and pay bills and save little change depending on ur lifestyle(i said this cos i know some folks have that mentality).
Lastly, studies here is not cheap cake coupled with the fact that international students do combine studies with work made it very difficult, but it is possible and can be achieve if you are determine(in Kanu Nwankwo's voice) and focus. With the right zeal and discipline, it can be achieve.

And having in mind that with God all things i men everything is possible

Oga before u dey write novel..bring egusi and dry fish ..cos I dey come burst u once u land
