good evening sir. If you check my previous posts on this thread, you will see that I have such doors for sale.

And to your question about using steel doors as internal doors, the noise is very negligible once the rooms are fully occupied because there will be no echo that will magnify the noise

Thank you very much

on your doors..um, thanks but no thanks

Please check the mail you used in registering on Nairaland.

The factory is not far from that popular GT bank on Agege Motoroad. Not sure of street name

You can access through Ilupeju bypass from Town Planning Way
Lagos

Can you please share his contact. I am actually looking for something like this..someone that can deliver to Benin-city. (Edit: I just saw his number you posted)

Rant

The hassle is most of them don't accept payment on delivery..They seem to want payment upfront and since I don't ve someone in lagos to help me do the transaction..it is a bit risky on my side.

Also on doors

Has anyone use Watson time Steel doors (see attachment) for internal doors?

they look okayish but I am not sure if steel doors can be used as internal doors.

Thank you very much in anticipation of prompt and useful feedbacks.

Please how many bags of 40kg white cement is enough for 171sqr meters

I recently used 90 bags of ABS pop cement for 187 m2. (see design below).

You can start with 60 bags or 70..and then add to it later if you run out of cement.

by the way...labour cost was 900 per sqm in Benin.

All the best

the picture above is quite expensive more than the regular curve one.. and because of the pole it will last longer as well.. though depend on the make anyway

there are some that can only last 3years before rusting take over them.. some can last as long as ten years

Good day All,

I would like to know the advantages and disadvabtages of using the straight razor wire (see picture below) as an extra layer of security in a fence compared to the concertina or curved razor wire.

I know the state of art is the electric fence but due to the economic fallout of this pandemic, I am looking for cost effective alternative to the electric fence for now.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks very much sir.. The Digester is been design in different ways depending on the soil formation of every of our site.. For dry land the water from the toilet waste goes into the ground while where we have a high level water area we treat the water to be environmental friendly and channel through to the drainage or canal as the case may be..

Thanks for your response.

There re points that re still not clear to me..

I am abit curious if you subject the treated effluent sludge to water analysis to ascertian if it is okay to be channelled to drainage or canal and do you get authorization from relevant authorities before channeling the water to the drainage/Canal?

Thanks

This's separate compartment where we flushed inn the waste, which goes to A where aerobic & anaerobic reaction takeplace and move to B while under the process acting then to C.

At this point C the water is totally neutralized then goes into drainage.

Note: there's always disadvantages of this to some Environment
Meaning that it may suite all Environmental.

Passing such treated waste (effluent sludge) into public drainage withoht authorization from relevant authorities is very insensitive and posses health hazard to the people considering that most drainage systems in Nigeria were not designed for effluent sludge collection.

Drainage systems in Nigeria were designed/built for run off rain water and in some cases they are open drainage system (no cover) and some if not all re emptied to natural water bodies (rivers and lakes).

For this digester to be effective, the effluent sludge and sludge resulting from Anaerobic/Aerobic treatment has to be collected by dedicated sewage lines for further treatment /direct use or collected regualarly by an approved faceal sludge manager.

I stand to be corrected tho..but if this guy is just emptying his effluent sludge into public drainage without authorization from relevant authorities then this is totally wrong.

Edit.

Attached to this post is his explanation of our the system works in another thread.

With the little information provided thus far, it seems there will be large amount of baterial and other pathogens in the effluent sludge.

It will be interesting to see if our Engr. ve done any water analysis in the past and recieved the appropiate authorization before emptying this effluent sludge into public drainage system.

@emman44 please your response is needed here

If yes Kindly drop the name of the Company...

Good evening all, i was informed of several post from a friend here about Segzy post. Yes i hv never d9 u paid me oof service wish is yet to be delivered. is a pity d urgly incident occurred anyway. We left Abeokuta with 2trucks of 30tons load going to Eng Samuel's site @Oko afon. we access tru Oshodi, because Atan terrible state of road, we encounter a gridlock at Toyota to Cele which made a experted nite delivery a day time delivery. Most of d truck like nite due to VIO, FRSC & LASMAN in lagos to aviod fall victims to law.
The 2trucks where not mine i lease it. D driver was not my staff, but they fall in d hands of FRSC corp each ticket was charge almost 90keach.no speed limit, no driver license, no fire..., no xtra tyres etc. what i dod waa to inform him. is a big challenge 2tricks. i hv disappointed no doubt but is never my making.
i was out of cash i told u on call that even N1k i dont hv thinking to deliver & get bal. Anyway i know Segzy14 very well, what you did is not of u, but...no wahala. Tell me what u want you said i shld refund. the running cost of d delivery is above N340k. i will refund if u insist, i will deliver if u want, wish ever way.

but how do you in 2019 lease a truck whose driver does not have a valid driving licence...no extra tires and no fire extinguisher?

I mean you clearly knew these things cos you said they drive at night cos they dont ve these things...

Fire extinguisher is abt 10k...license abt 20K and then ofc you need extra tires..you dont need VIO or anybody to tell you that.

Running a sustainable business requires that at all time you dont run fowl of certain things..this tryin to cut corners is the reason why some business collapse in Nigeria. I hope you learn from this and come out stronger.

in the main time..kindly refund the amount to the guy.

Good morning sir,
I can naturally make alternate suggestions based on the product and the cost.
Someone who gave you a quote of N900 may base it on a basecoat of N12000 per drum.
I know that good pop cement screeding starts from N550 upwards per sqm so the price you were given could still be contested and driven down.
At N7000 per drum and average rate of N200 per sqm for application, my ready mixed screeding putty basecoat is around N580 per sqm.
As per the alternate to screeding, you may use a primer applied in 3 coats and sand papered before painted.
I base the primer and number of coats on my brand formulation with very high solid content intended to give significant thick coat that can be sand papered.
A drum is N5000 and covers approximately 25 sqm for the 3 coats. That's N200 per sqm for materials.
As per the application, you negotiate for the cost of painting only. they don't negotiate price for application of primer separately since it's done together with painting.

https://www.nairaland.com/4577731/ongoing-painting-pictures-nairalanders-lekki

Primer was used for the internal and external of the building in the thread above. The internal pictures are towards the end of the pages.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I will check the thread.

The work with primer looks really good. It seems it was not a first time painting. Can one get such results for newly plastered wall? Do you have any thread where primer was applied to a newly built house?

Once again thanks for your time.

Putting it properly, all water based paints are emulsion, be it satin, matte, silk or regular emulsion.
I've not been abroad but I don't think what they refer to as emulsion paint in general terms is the same as what we call it here.
Even by nigerian standard, what we refer to as the premium grade now used to be the standard grade until not too long ago that some companies started doing budget grade and even they still have the former general standard grade as their premium now.
So in nigerian market, we have the budget grade which some brands are known for, we have the premium grades that some brands are also known for, we also have matte emulsion which is quite different from the premium emulsion, then we have the silk, satin etc.
Some refer to premium grade emulsion as matte because of the quality, some even refer to premium grade emulsion with tiny grains as matte but if you come across imported paints, what they refer to as matt is simply a matted (dulled) form of sheen paint and they still have some level of sheen and are cleanable.
Why basic and premium emulsion paint don't require screeding is not mainly due to presence of fillers but due to the absence of any form of sheen. Any slight shinning reflects irregularities and imperfections on the wall and the reflection is lower in ideal matte due to the lower sheen than satin, so in essence it doesn't show irregularities much and could be used on un screeded wall but that doesn't mean it's not there.
I will edit and post pictures from matte applied on primed and walls not primed from my gallery later and you notice the difference.
Edited: the two first ones are matte applied on ordinary plaster and the last two are matte applied on a primed wall. Notice the smoothness and brightness of both.

Good day,

Is there any affrodable alternative to achieve that level of smoothness of screeded walls?

I ve just ran the numbers for screeding and it doesnt look nice at all grin cheesy cheesy. At 900 per sqm a standard room (height: 3m length:3.6m) will cost ca.40K naira according to the quote i got. In a house with 6 bedrooms , 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens, external walls and fence, it seems like an uphill task.

Abeg make una help local man..na house person wan build i nor wan go moon cheesy cheesy cheesy

Thanks in anticipation for a favourable reply.
