I incidentally stumbled on an article talking about the world population and infrastructure to support it. I particularly noted the countries functional International entry and exit airports and i almost screamed! For its population and landmass,Nigeria had about the lowest entry or exit international airports! Little wonder our International airports are chaotic and very stressful for those unlucky enough to plan overseas trip from Nigeria! I noticed that Nigeria was indeed much larger than many countries on the list and yet had lower per-capita of international entry/exit points! Was this a legacy of many years under prolonged military rule, with the paranoia of dictators that more than one or two entry points for a country of more than 100 million people could endanger their military juntas? Even the much more poorer Bangladesh carved out of Pakistan had 4 International entry points! The point here being that i also realized that those against Enugu Intl. airport were deliberately doing so not because Nigeria had more International entry points than it should for its size and population, but because they had something against the people of that region where Enugu Intl. is located. See for yourself the list of 12 most populous countries and the number of functional international entry or exit airports they have and compare them to Nigeria's. 1. China: 1.3 Billion people. Number of International Airports: 46 2. India: 1.2 Billion people. Number of International Airports: 27 3. United States of America: 316 Million people. Number of International Airports: 158 4. Indonesia: 237 Million people. Number of International Airports: 12 5. Brazil: 201 Million people. Number of International Airports: 33 6. Pakistan: 184 Million people. Number of International Airports: 9 7. Nigeria: 173 Million people. Number of International Airports: 5 8. Bangladesh: 152 Million people. Number of International Airports: 4 . 9. Russia: 143 Million people. Number of International Airports: 11 10. Japan: 127 Million people. Number of International Airports: 5 11. Mexico: 118 Million people. Number of International Airports: 56 12. Philipines: 99 Million people. Number of International Airports: 12 |
Nigerians don't care anymore about deaths of fellow Nigerians unless it is their tribesman. Boko Haram kill innocent northerners everyday, who cares? But when they killed two beans traders from the SWregion, some people wanted a senate hearing on insecurity! All the people that died in DANA air crash, nobody talked because Igbos bore the brunt of it. When 11 people died in Agagu's plane, the sky was pulled down. If they name these Nigerians killed and their names start with "OLU" something, Chai, some people will ask for war with Bissau! |
Nigerians really have a bloated, unrealistic importance of Nigeria in the scheme of things. For the average American or even African, Nigeria is a land of corrupt politicians, stupid Africans killing themselves under a banner called tribalism and latest a country of islamic fanatics and terrorists. Nigerians do insult Nigeria more with their conduct and shameful tribalism. I was recently embarrassed when a spoke to a white guy in Kenya and he was laughing out hilariously how Eboes, Yourubas and foolanis are fighting over poverty and killing themselves like dogs. I couldn't even fault him because i knew it was very true. I worry more about the bad conduct of Nigerians, than when white people make reference to it. Like i hear African Americans call themselves neggar, but it becomes a racial slur when a white person call them that? If we are offended by the bitter truth in what Senator Cruz said,we should then take a pledge to always do what we can be proud of as Nigerians. |
Mynd_44: ^^^C'mon stop pretending! You must think you are talking to a kid! If she corruptly enriched herself with aviation ministry funds, why don't you allow the EFCC to investigate her and pronounce her guilty of corrupt enrichment? You have jumped to the conclusion that she is corrupt without investigations because of two reasons; 1. She is one of the IGBO Ministers that are targeted for elimination by Yoruba men 2. She had the guts to make Enugu International which yoruba think might affect Lagos traffic! GASKIA!!! |
ndu_chucks: This cannot be true. Enemies of progress are trying to implicate this fine woman by associating those limos with her. Those Limos belong to Dangote! My tongue is likely in my cheeks at this moment. Nonesense and Ingredients./\/\/\ EXACTLY ! If Princess Oduah were FFK type, she would not have remodelled any airport in Nigeria or at best would have stopped at the exquisite re-modelling of the airports in the country going on. But no, she is determined to make Nigeria's airports one of the best in the world. To put Nigeria on the world map,in spite of the limited resources at her disposal. Thus, the new international terminals being built. The cost of remodelling Phuket airport in Thailand is more than $600 million dollars! Yet it still looks like shyt! Meanwhile behold the midas touch given to our Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos by our Princess Stella Oduah !!! Enemies of progress always playing tribalism to ruin any good work or any attempt to develop Nigeria by trying to tarnish the image of our achieving minister should please go and hug a transformer! We are marching on!

Even though they shall gather, but they shall scatter, thus says the Lord! |
Does APC care about any Igbo leader or traditional institution? Ofcourse Ngige and Tinubu will be laughing their arse off by now! But if Ooni of Ife gives the same directive in Ife,If Ngige laughs, Tinubu will slap him for disrespecting the traditional father. Tells you about who wants to deliver Igbos to those who wish to enslave them as second or perhaps third class citizens in Nigeria. |
henrychubayo: B4 the fenced the place, wen they were still doing d clearing, some posted here say he saw some chinese experts handling the project. It was part of the agreement of the loan obtained from them.Is there any corridor linking the domestic terminal to the international terminal? If someone arrives Enugu from an international flight and needs to fly to somewhere local, can they just roll their luggage from the international wing to the domestic wing, without coming outside to cross the streets and parking lot to get into the domestic terminal? If they didn't add this requirement, i hope they do know it is very important. Especially if it is a rainy day, you don't want passengers soaked in rain just to move between the domestic and international wings of the airport. |
In Haiti, When evil men are buried, their remains is exhumed and burnt when their crimes are revealed so that their evil spirit does not enter another living person after their death. Should we adopt that culture in Nigeria? Too many people seem to have the same evil desires of some dead murderers. Please this is just a suggestion to spiritually heal Nigeria of evil, no foul language is allowed. http://www.umich.edu/~uncanny/zombies.html |
Since they are yoruba, nobody has a right to tell them to go for being lazy, but if they are Igbo, check out Osun Defender and Sahara reporters! |
cashkid18: if she eventually resigns due to pressure, gej wil elect an ibo person to continue frm wia she stopd jst lyk he nid in formal power minister's caseThe truth is that she is never going to resign, even if it is just to tell some people they can't just mob anyone for nothing. Yoruba people specialize in using Lagos press to harass all the Igbo ministers. If it's not Okonjo Iweala, It's COAS or it Minister of Health. If any of them ever resign because of yoruba calumny and character assassination,it will embolden them to continue their media war on any Igbo Person Government. Let them continue their media hype, tomorrow they will bring another issue. The aviation Minister will ignore them and continue to work for Nigeria's progress. They should get used to seeing her face or just go hug a transformer at Ogbomoso! ![]() Meanwhile, even though yoruba did not contribute anything in the formation of this government, they have been given more ministers and nobody is asking their redundant and unproductive ministers to resign. To be specific, The redundant and unproductive ministers that are a waste to tax payers money are; Omobola Johnson, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade and Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide. They should be asked to resign to make way for those prepared to work. |
12 Other Airports around the country are being remodeled and modernized right now as we speak! Those that hate Nigeria's development should go and hug a wet transformer after a heavy rainfall! |
