omongbatim: C-O-N-F-U-S-I-O-N! LAGOS WHERE SOJOURNERS DEPORT SOJOURNERS? By admin on Aug 10, 2013 in Opinion
By Ike Chidolue
**Governors Tinubu and Fashola are all citizen of neighbouring states of Osun and Ekiti and technically should not claim Lagos. **deportee Uchenna’s great grand parents came to Lagos in the 1920s as produce sellers. His grandfather, his immediate father and himself were all born in Lagos. **yet Uchenna was arrested for selling on the street, detained in a secret detention camp and cargoed to a State he has never visited before.
Lagos was the former Capital of Nigeria and still the commercial capital of the Country. Being the former Federal capital, many Nigerians were posted, transferred or secured a jobs to work in the Federal civil services. Others set up business that was serving the increasing Lagos Population. According to the last census, about 85% of residents of Lagos are either visitors or people who choose to settle in the city through different generation.
The question Remains, Who actually owns Lagos. since Gov Fashola deported 72 Igbos from Lagos to Onitsha. The deportees had all been earlier detained in “warehouses” in Lagos and some in the neighbouring Ogun region for months before their deportation to Igboland. Many of the deportees are children and older people and some have disabilities.
From records the last two governors of Lagos state are not originally Lagosians, but the ‘real owners’ accommodated them to the extent of allowing them to vie for elective positions in the state.
PROFILE::
1] Bola Tinubu. *Status: Politician. *State of Origin: Osun state. *Father’s State of Birth : Osun state *Position: Former Lagos state Governor.
2] Babatunde Fashola *Status: Politician. *State of Origin: Ekiti state. *Father’s State of Birth : Ekiti state *Position: Current Lagos state Governor.
3] Uchenna Amadi *Status: Trader (Roadside). *State of Origin: Lagos state. *Father’s State of Birth : Lagos state *Position: Deported To Onitsha.
This is where the confusion comes in, in determining the actual owner of Lagos. Governors Tinubu and Fashola are all citizen of neighbouring states of Osun and Ekiti and technically should not claim Lagos. The deportee Uchenna’s great grand parents came to Lagos in the 1920s as produce sellers. His grandfather, his immediate father and himself were all born in Lagos, yet he was arrested for selling on the street, detained in a secret detention camp and cargoed to a State he has never visited before.
The question remains, who owns Lagos and who should have the right to deport a Nigerian that was born and lived his whole life in a particular state, irrespective of his offence, handicap or health situation? WHO owns Lagos?
http://www.africanewscircle.com/2013/08/10/c-o-n-f-u-s-i-o-n-lagos-where-sojourners-deport-sojourners/ It is really a strange land that people whose parents are not from Lagos and who were born outside Lagos, have become governors of the state! While someone born in Lagos and whose father was also born in Lagos, would be deported by the immigrant governor simply because his name does not sound Yoruba! Simply wonderful! |

Some Yoruba men of integrity still exist. That is why people should not term Fashola's illegal deportation of Nigerians inside Nigeria a yoruba thing. Fashola is simply dumb and a tribalist to the core. |

Sunny_bobo: Since Ngige is so loved by the APC members who see him as a messiah of some sort, can they please present him as their presidential candidate?
Afterall he is 'tested and trusted'. Ofcourse those APC Islamic terrorists hate him so passionately because they know he is Igbo and Christian. They even think much less of Ngige and Roaches for agreeing to play Judas to betray their people in exchange for political office. Again, the callous deportations of Igbos from Lagos by Gov. Fashola and Ngige's subsequent approval of such blatant injustice done to his people, have showed that Ngige is merely concerned about his own selfish interest and political office, and thus, cannot be trusted to be his own man nor speak out against injustice meted out to his people. Therefore, Igbos will rather have a trusted Soludo as governor of Anambra, than hand over the future of Anambra people to savages and the vindictive Yoruba people through Ngige's APC |

INNO18: 2015 is around the corner... And while most ethnic groups are forming alliances to make sure they occupy Aso rock villa... My people(Igbos) are queing behind Jonathan for 2015. Even Ohanaeze which is supposed to represent Igbo interest... Has been wooed possibly by financial interests to the Jonathan camp. The only Igbo man that seems to be reasoning through his head and not A.nus so far is rochas. Igbos take it or leave it... After 2019(if Jonathan wins a 2nd time) Jonathan will leave us high and dry... And power will rotate between the North and Southwest for like another 50 years before they might even consider giving us a VP post. Igbos have a saying that 'our own is our own, but my own is my own'.Jonathan is no doubt 'Our own' but definitely not 'My Own'. It's not too late to form an alliance with other Nigerians and 'Beg' for votes.. If we keep waiting for the presidential post to be handed to us on a platter of Gold...in the name of 'Zoning', then we should be prepared to wait forever. Although we might not win... But atleast it will go a long way to show nigerians that we're no longer 'Campaign material'. N.B i'm not anti Jonathan but sacrificing the Igbo presidency for him is not worth it. Igbos biko nu k'anyi zukota cho onye nkeanyi...tupu akukoa aho nke Atani. Let's be wise 2015... Wake from slumber or forever remain asleep. Those who have been deceived for long thinking this INNO guy is Igbo should now see his true colors o! A green snake is under the green grass my people! Agwo no n'akirika ! |

I understand the need to sue Fashola to stop him from violating the laws of Nigeria. But,while the law suit is going on, i don't see the need for all the talk. Give those deportees N1500 each and put them in an Apuruka bus back to Lagos or gather all destitutes in Onitsha and drive them to Lagos and dump them. Problems solved! |

99cent: Everyday in the news a Nigerian with Igbo sounding name is arrested, deported or killed in South Africa. What do you think will happen if SA starts to recognize Nigerian contribution to its economy and starts treating us with more respect and tender loving care that we deserve? Pick one:
a) South Africa's economy will grow and expand. b) South Africa's Nigerian population will grow and expand. c) both a and b.
methinks SA is trying to reduce/control its Nigerian population hence the hostility. But is it putting its economy at risk by doing so? One day Nigeria will finally breakup so that Yoruba people will finally quit their Igbo addiction and leave Igbo people alone. Yoruba people simply stay alive to be creating problems around the world and dragging the name Igbo in it.Some really devilish people men! |

Otunba Gbenga Ashiru is the best Foreign Minister Nigeria has had since the time of Jaja Wachukwu. Nigeria became a laughing stock in the world principally because over the years,Nigerians and the country's interests were rudely violated by many countries without Nigeria raising a finger to complain.
Until the South Africans were rudely surprised with the retaliatory deportations,Nigeria's foreign policy had lacked focus and teeth. I'm glad the FG will retaliate this singling out of Nigerian citizens for humiliation by the Brits. If nothing were done, the same policy would soon be copied by many countries that wish to exploit the fact that Nigerians visit their countries in large numbers. |

Politics › Re: R-A-P-E! On Tape In Aso Rock- Jonathan Covers Up The Scandal by cjrane: 2:14pm On Jul 28, 2013 |
buy4me: A massive cover-up is underway in the Presidency amid allegations that a personal assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan violated an expatriate staff.A furious President Goodluck Jonathan called an urgent meeting at his official residence in Aso Villa and
imposed a code of silence on all his aides and personal assistants as part of damage control efforts to deal with a scandal that alleges the violation of an expatriate staff by the President’s personal assistant for domestic affairs, Dr. Temple, who has been ignominiously relieved of his duties.
The circumstances under which Dr. Temple found himself inside the private quarters of the expatriate staff (names withheld) remain unclear but, Huhuonline.com has learnt from authoritative sources inside the Presidency that while in her apartment, situated inside Aso Villa, Dr.Temple Were Intimate with her against her consent under the watchful eyes of security cameras that recorded the heinous act of shame as it unfolded.
After the incident, the lady reported the crime to the authorities within Aso villa. Consequently, security tapes from her apartment were reviewed and after watching her “violation on tape,” the presidency, in an attempt to cover up the crime, relieved Dr. Temple of his duties and evicted him from the Villa, manu military. Informed of the unsavory incident that has diplomatic undertones, Jonathan reportedly imposed a gag order on all his aides from commenting on the affair.
However, sources close to Dr.Temple allege that he was involved in an extra marital affair with the expatriate staff. They blame the situation on cultural irredentism, arguing that foreigners do not understand that in Africa a wife or girlfriend is obliged to satisfy the intimate cravings of her partner, no matter the circumstances. “This is not the first time that Dr. Temple is Being Intimate with that woman, so why all the fuss? a close ally to Dr. Temple queried.
In response to Huhuonline.com enquiries, aides to President Jonathan all deny that such an incident occurred and said the Presidency would not “dignify gossip with a response. These rumors appear to be part of an ongoing and malicious campaign to undermine the right of the president and his family to privacy and dignity."
Asked about the cover up, Mr. Reuben Abati, special adviser to the president on media and publicity said: “This is the figment of someone’s imagination. Please, no one committed such a crime around here.”
But none of the President’s men could explain the unceremonious sacking and eviction of Dr. Temple from Aso Villa. Attempt to reach Dr.Temple was unsuccessful, as his four cell phones have been out of coverage area since the incident. Dr.Temple, who hails from Bayelsa State like Jonathan, came highly recommended at a time when there was a crisis of confidence within the President’s inner circle. Sources reveal that he was handpicked by the first lady, Patience Jonathan.
His predecessor, Mr. Obuchie was accused of spying on President Jonathan and his wife and releasing information about them to Timipre Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa state. However, a source close to Obuchie affirmed that Obuchie was fired by the first lady, simply because she did not like him. “The First lady had an open hatred for Obuchie, everyone in the villa knows this,” said the source. In her desperation to get rid of Obuchie, she labeled him a spy and he was sacked.
Speaking further, the source stated that the presidency had moved against Timipre Sylva re-election, and in return, the former Governor threatened to kill President Jonathan and his wife.”
Dr. Temple has since been replaced with Hon. Dudafa Waripamowei, former commissioner for local government in Bayelsa state. He resumed penultimate Monday. Hon. Dudafa Waripamowei had been penciled as deputy governor to Gov. Dickson, recently elected governor of Bayelsa, but was dropped. According to a source who elected anonymity, Hon. Dudafa Waripamowei, was Gov. Sylva`s right hand man, He was Sylva`s commissioner for local government,” they stole together”.
The violation incident at Aso Villa and the ensuing cover-up by Jonathan comes hard on the heels of another sex scandal involving the Presidency wherein the names of senior officials, including President Jonathan are said to have featured in a black list released by detractors of an accomplished Abuja Madame, Halima Mohammed Gambo, the ex-wife of former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Gambo.
A successful woman by all standards, Halima Gambo is also arguably the culinary queen in and out of the seat of power.
However, the messy rumor of her alleged sexcapades being spread around Abuja is creating white nights inside Aso Rock enough to keep all able and enabled men of means in the society off her radar for now. The scandal assumed a broader dimension, when a list of some top Nigerians that have allegedly slept with her or dated her, started making the rounds in some social circles. Some of those women who've seen the list are now confronting their husbands, while those whose husbands did not feature in the list have vowed to keep their men away from her even if it means hiring private investigators to keep tabs on them 24/7.
A former democratic President of the federal republic once said that any female aide who refused his intimate overtures was considered disloyal, irrespective of their marital status. In his estimation, intimate intercourse with his female subordinate was his bonus for empowering them. Barbaric as it may sound; this obnoxious practice within the corridors of power did not end with the erstwhile democratic President, who has since retired to his farm. The man in question, among many other detained road-hawkers, and beggars, hawks face towels & handkerchiefs in traffic and -he hails from Enugu (Abakpa Nike) he was made to go through a 6 months training in indoor decorations making with others. He was given N250k loan after his period of apprenticeship, some were deported but only after been provided with survival skills other than hawking and begging. The man now make curtains for a living. The beautiful part of this 'epistles' is that he's doing so well now, well connected to the extent that he makes curtains for government officials in his state. I'm not against people trooping in into the state afterall there's strength in population one of the many secrets of China but they should just make themselves useful and exploit numerous available opportunity provided by Govt.
