Nwanne am very happy about Anambra google result, before if you google Anambra or Onicha and click on images what you will be seeing were bad roads, erosion, dead bodies, collapse system, mad people, unclad criminals but since we started this thread and numerous other threads here and outside if you google Anambra the pictures will be palatable and beautiful to behold.

Am loving the way we are winning the media wars now, our cyber image has improved since few years ago and am happy, beside one rarely hear of bad news in Anambra since Obi's second term till now till now.

Anambra one thousand steps foward, one step backward.
Before any bad news we have been in the news for the right reasons for months, imagine name of states owing workers were realeased we are not among those listed, this is a great feat

Very correct Nwanne! I thank , Buddahmonk, Schematics and FKO81 and all others working hard to change our online image.
The online photos of Anambra and the major cities especially "Onitsha" is gradually improving from the gutter and killings put there by BBC and oily haters media.

If Maje official is here, can he update the Onitsha and Awka city threads on skyscrappers.com? For some reasons, only the Enugu thread is constantly updated and pics from that site frequently feature more than from NL.

PoliticsRe: Ifeanyi Ubah To Release 13 Million Litres Of Fuel To End Scarcity. by cjrane: 12:21pm On May 25, 2015
whitelakes05:
Press statement from CEO of Capital Oil & Gas Ltd., Ifeanyi Ubah, on the ongoing fuel scarcity and the solution he’d devised.

On Saturday 16th May 2015, we received an SMS ordering the suspension of loading activities in all depots from Monday 18th May 2015. We later realized that this directive was as a result of unpaid funds owed to transporters by oil marketers who in turn are owed by the Federal Government. This development has resulted in immense hardship to our fellow country men and women. We believe that a better solution can be pursued towards solving this problem in a way that does not adversely affect our dear citizens.

Capital Oil and Gas has watched with so much pain, the suffering and hardship our citizens have been subjected to as a result of scarcity of petrol, diesel, aviation fuel and house hold kerosene. We are deeply pained to hear that hospitals cannot perform surgeries, laboratories are unable to carry out much needed tests especially for emergency patients leaving such patients at risk of dying, radio stations are shutting down, communication is being affected as MTN and other telecommunications company have announced an impending shut down while homes, offices and key facilities nationwide are experiencing blackouts. In some parts of the country, petrol is already selling at an all-time high of N1,000 per litre. Our citizens have left their homes and are now sleeping in fuel stations, facing the risk of robbery attacks and other attendant risk.

In a few days’ time, a new government headed by General Muhamadu Buhari will be sworn in. Apart from our citizens being unable to watch the handover on television and unavailability of transportation for attendees of this historic handover, the resulting chaos from this scarcity may shutdown the Nation and sabotage the efforts Nigeria has made to attain greater heights.

We are constrained at this point and have decided that two wrongs cannot make a right. We will not be part of this sabotage against our fatherland. Therefore from this minute, we shall take the risk of opening our facilities and commence swift loading and distribution of products Nationwide.

Our facility has the capacity to load over 13 million litres of product before dawn. This comes to approximately 400 trucks of petroleum products. With this act, it is our belief that once again our citizens will begin to smile, return to normal family and work life. We call on other petroleum marketers to follow suit and save our Nation from this impending economic and social crisis. This is a period that requires patriotism and service to fatherland. Let’s join hands to help our fellow citizens and save Nigeria. We also call on striking bodies to call off the strike action. Let us work together for the betterment of our people.

As we brief you this moment, our truck park, port reception facilities and our depot complex have been ordered opened. We are ordering and resuming discharge of products from vessels at our berths. We have ordered our trucks to commence loading of products and move overnight to every state of the Federation.

Most importantly, we wish to use this medium to thank NNPC and PPMC for their steadfastness in ensuring the availability of petroleum products. Current PPMC stock level in our storage tanks and buffer stock on vessels awaiting discharge at our jetty is capable of meeting the Nation’s need for 15 days.

Furthermore, we wish to emphasis that we have a total solution to the traffic menace on the oshodi apapa expressway. In the coming weeks, we hope to engage the Federal Government (Federal Ministry of Transport), Lagos State Government and other stakeholders in the affected area, to optimally utilize our truck park facilities which has the capacity to accommodate over 1,100 trucks per time and 5,000 on a shift basis.

Capital Oil and Gas continues to appeal to Nigerians to accept and support deregulation as this will curb corruption, enhance competition, lead to reduction of pump price for petroleum products and ensure constant supply to meet Nigeria’s demand.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Ifeanyi Ubah should mark on the wall the calamity Nigeria will pay him back with.

Anybody that tries to alleviate suffering in Nigeria typically dies from a Nigeria inspired injustice.

PoliticsRe: The False Accusations Against Ngozi Okonjo Iweala by cjrane: 3:19pm On May 24, 2015
Sweetguy25:
Ngozi may go down in history as the most famous Minister of finance Nigeria has ever had. I doubt if previous ministers of finance were scrutinized and castigated as much she was.

But let me ask please – What crimes did Ngozi commit that she is so much vilified and abused by Nigerians? Why do Nigerians blame all their economic problems on Ngozi? Is it because she was conferred with the ceremonial title of “coordinating minister of the economy”?

I have found out that many people who accuse Ngozi of destroying the Nigerian economy are blatantly ignorant of how the Nigerian economy is setup and the duties of the minister of finance.

For starters, there are two ways of controlling an economy – Fiscal Policy and Monetary Policy.
Fiscal policy is the use of government revenues and expenditure to stimulate economic growth while monetary policy is basically the use of money supply (e.g. interest rates) to stimulate economic productivity.
Fiscal policy in Nigeria is maintained and managed by the Ministry of Finance while monetary policy is managed by the central bank of Nigeria.
I find it highly hypocritical that nobody ever accuses the CBN of not doing enough to stimulate economic growth and employment. Incidentally, majority of Nigerians are ignorant of the duties and functions of the CBN.
It is the duty of the Central bank to control and manage
- interest rates;
- inflation;
- foreign exchange reserves;
- the national credit system;
- exchange rates
In Nigeria however, we often accuse Ngozi of depleting our foreign reserves, we accuse her of the high exchange rates; we accuse her of unemployment; we accuse her of inflation; we accuse her of everything wrong with the economy. These aren't her duties.

Ngozi does not control exchange rates, the CBN does
Ngozi does not manage or control our foreign reserves, the CBN does
Ngozi does not control inflation, the CBN does
Ngozi’s job is to manage the revenues and expenditures of the federal government; how your state governors spend their allocation and revenues is not her concern.

She has carried out her duties to the best of her ability and I can’t think of any previous minister of finance that did a better job than Okonjo Iweala.

Nigerians should learn to apportion blames to whom they are due

Blame the CBN for inflation
Blame the CBN for high rates interest
Blame the CBN for not managing the foreign reserves properly
Don’t blame Okonjo Iweala

Thank you.

ChimaAdeoye:
Sir,
I have been following your arguments. You would have made a lot of sense if you were talking about Americans and not Nigerians. But because the subject is about Nigeria & Nigerians, then you are either very naive or deliberately mischievous. In America, one may be born in Florida or Iowa, then he ends up as Senator or Governor of Texas or New York! Thus, where you live is your state! Which is the opposite in Nigeria. Even the so called Federal capital territory is claimed by ethnic groups and people from other parts of Nigeria are discriminated against.
I agree that social justice isn't about giving oil wells to ND citizens, but it is surely one way to give justice. Niger Delta has been given the fake argument of "One Nigeria" to rob them blind. Part of the reason why there is so much corruption and inefficiency in Nigeria is because we have learnt to see oil as the ONLY resource in Nigeria. Many countries have prospered by mining solid minerals and large scale agriculture. If we had sincerely developed these two sectors across all states of the federation, you will see that many states will prefer to mine their solid minerals or export their agricultural products than to try to cheat Niger deltans of their oil.

Someone mentioned that if the oil belong to the north, no Niger Deltan or other Nigerians will have any of it, and it is true. Let me rephrase your argument and put the north in the position of the Niger Deltans so you can see it from their perspective. If for example, Nigeria depends upon solid minerals and agriculture for foreign exchange, and since the north has vast agricultural lands and solid minerals, Yoruba or Igbo men will flood the north and allocate themselves all that fertile northern lands filled with solid minerals and claim they are doing so because it is one Nigeria! The worst part is that they will do so by fiat because the control the federal government. then, if any northerner dares to ask questions why the Igbos and yorubas own the most lands in their region, the Igbos and Yorubas will retort with their own question of " what they have done with the remaining land northerners control?" Such behavior will be deemed as the height of insensitivity.

If you cannot fathom the south treating the north like that, then it is highly unfair to treat Niger Deltans in that manner.
Please save your breath and don't mind that mad man. He pretends to claim it is ok if Niger Deltans have nothing to gain from the oil except environmental degradation, as long as "Nigerians" control the oil. Who are these "Nigerians"? Why can't Niger Deltans be these "Nigerians " ? The man tries to make caricature of the argument by veering off tangent to address his imaginary corruption which is "exclusive" to ND people. I wonder the ethnicity those who have been stealing Nigerian wealth since 1960 as head of state or presidents?

U still laying emphasis on sharing of oil blocks and derivation as a means 2 getting justice. I don't misunderstand u. Am not against indigenes getting oil blocks but Who would get these shared oil blocks? Is it d bole seller or d fisherman or d govt school teacher or d jobless youths? Am aware that lulu briggs and dan etete have oil blocks. What has that done 2 reduce poverty, unemployment and inequality in their villages and ND as a whole? Development is d issue and sharing oil blocks doesn't guarantee development. It only makes d rich richer. Sharing oil blocks and derivation cannot placate d farmer who lost his crops or d fisherman who can't get fish anymore due 2 environmental degradation. D leaders of d region take d compensation meant 4d people and pocket it. There is ecological fund,13percent, NDDC, ministry of ND, all these 2 "placate".what have they done with d funds? Justice will begin when d leaders and elected reps of d people of ND begin 2 give account of what they have done with d wealth of their people entrusted 2 them. Justice will begin when d legislators from d region awake 2 their responsibilities by sponsoring bills that will protect their region land, sea and air from environmental degradation. Justice will begin when d leaders of d region create a conducive environment 4 investment so as 2 create employment and progress
The issue is about social justice. Naming the very few Niger Delta citizens who own oil block and what they have contributed towards poverty alleviation is being smart by half. So what have the multitudes of northerners and Yorubas that own 99.9 % of Nigeria's oil wells contributed to Nigeria? Would it not make sense to question the contribution of the big oil wealth owners pumping millions of barrel per day, than the few that own wells producing a few hundred barrels of oil per day?

It must be noted that if the oil belonged to northerners, other groups cannot hope to own any oil well talk more of owning the overwhelming majority of them.

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) on Sunday reacted to the controversy between the presidency and the owners of the multi-million dollars Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility over the decision of the federal government to relocate the fabrication from LADOL yard in Lagos to Agge in Bayelsa State.

They said they would not allow materials fabricated in Lagos to be used in the platform in the Niger Delta region.

The IYC’s reaction is subsequent to an interim order of the federal High Court, Lagos, stopping the federal government from implementing the directive.

According to the IYC in a statement by its spokesman, Comrade Eric Omare, "We want to make it clear that whether court injunction or no court injunction, we would not allow materials to be fabricated in Lagos and used to build oil platform in the Niger Delta region. Niger Deltans have been taken for granted for too long and we would no longer accept it.

"The IYC and indeed the Niger Delta people back the directive of President Jonathan to move the fabrication of oil and gas materials to the Niger Delta where the eventual job is to be done. We also support the directive to move oil and gas cargoes to only ports in Warri, Calabar and Onne. This is not only in line with the requirement of the local content law but it also makes so much economic sense.

"It is common knowledge that Lagos is highly congested and there is need to move some class of cargoes especially oil and gas materials to ports within the Niger Delta region where the oil facilities are located.

"We consider the opposition to the Presidential directive and the attendant media propaganda by the Lagos cabal as an insult on Niger Del tans. It is on record that all the oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region have their offices in Lagos to the detriment of the Niger Delta economy.

"Henceforth, Niger Deltans would take steps to ensure that any oil company without its headquarters in the Niger Delta region would not be allowed to operate in the region. The IYC frowned and condemn the ex-parte order of the federal High Court.

"We wonder how the federal High Court would hurriedly grant such an order without giving opportunity to other parties to present their own side of the case. We question the swiftness of the order and call on the National Judicial Council to investigate the judge who granted the order."

Nigeria is a fond of cheating the Niger Deltans of the gains of the oil.
Every region should develop their own resources so that the urge to cheat others from their resources will stop.

THANK GOD EVERY REGION NOW OWNS THE NIGER DELTA OIL AND MAY GOD BLESS THE NORTHERN AND SOUTH WEST REPS WHO PASSED THAT BILL. NIGER DELTANS HAVE BEEN OVER PAMPERED IN THE NIGERIAN STATE AND ITS HIGH TIME WE PUT A CHECK ON THEM. EVERY RESOURCES IN THE NIGERIAN TERRITORY BELONGS TO ALL NIGERIANS. WE CAN NOT CONTINUE TO ALLOW THEM CLAIM OWNERSHIP OF OUR OIL WHILE THEIR REGION WAS DEVELOPED BY MONEY FROM COCOA AND GROUNDNUT BEFORE OIL WAS DISCOVERED.

THIS IS THE CHANGE WE CLAMOURED FOR AND I'M GLAD CHANGE IS HERE. THE SOUTH EAST ARE VERY BITTER ABOUT THE BILL BECAUSE THEY ARE STYLISHLY LURING THE NIGER DELTA INTO THEIR BIAFRAN DREAM WHICH IS FUTILE FROM INCEPTION. I REALLY THANK THE NORTH FOR MAKING THIS GREAT MOVE. THE NORTH SHALL ALWAYS BE THE OWNER OF NIGERIA COS THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST POPULATION AND LAND MASS. WE SOUTHWESTERNERS ARE SOLIDLY BEHIND THE NORTH cool
In a way, you spoke the truth.
But I smell the usual Yoruba deceit and cynicism in your post.

The north should continue with their attitude of treating the SS and SE territories as slave land and suddenly the Biafra quest becomes very appealing. Needless to say Yoruba and Hausa in those territories will be cleansed out.
BTW, I hope you understand that the world order on 2015 is very different from the Cold War days. Many countries today are commited to the division on Nigeria unlike in the 1960s after our independence.
