The great thing about Akpabio is that he didn't build only world class roads and bridges. He built brand new higher institutions, hospitals, estates, libraries, runways, malls, entertainment zones, stadia, 5 star hotels etc etc. If Rotimi Amaechi did half of these in PH, we would have replicated London in PH now.

Even if it were proven that a Nigerian army officer commited any crimes, does that mean it is the fault of the service chief and the President? Instead of holding the soldier in question responsible for his own misconduct?

With the recent increasing rate of bomb blasts in the country especially in the North-eastern region, the Nigerian military have upped their game training more explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel in order to curtail the excesses of the insurgents.

Shouting that Ngige built roads with gutters is a lie for those of us that actually drove on all Ngige roads. Even the road to Alor that he built when he moved the state university there, did not have gutters! Gutters were added in Peter Obi's second term and Ngige protested that Peter obi was trying to claim the roads he built. Ngige was however the first governor in Anambra to start building roads which had quality at all. However, he built his roads without gutters.

Nobody can really tell your true intention, but i can say that I agree with you on the lack of road sweeping culture. Also, the culture of not marking roads.
It will probably take the second coming of Christ for many of our people to see anything wrong with those.
I will however credit Peter Obi with starting the culture of building gutters along the roads he builds. Before him, even the roads Ngige constructed had no gutters, which drastically reduced the life span of the roads. Perhaps Obiano will introduce the culture of street sweeping again in Anambra.

It is good sign that APC is ready to govern when they pay attention to issues in non APC controlled states. My fear about Buhari had been if he makes the mistake of treating Nigeria as APC vs. others.

Nigeria is a complex multi ethnic, multi religious country. It will be a mistake to think of Nigeria simply as APC or non APC.

The nincompoop is from Enugu. Not to say that great state did anything wrong. But I have found out that Enugu and IMO citizens are sometimes pained by progress in Anambra, just as some Anambra people here go to Enugu and IMO thread to display thin veiled jealousy at the progress in those state.
I'll give it to Abia, Anioma and Ebonyi people as those who are generally happy with the progress of the region without being state specific. It is an unfortunate mentality, but we have such myopic eediots like that alive.

CJ, I took that Park avenue pics sometime last year. Am yet to get to that place to verify if it has been installed or not but I know there is a provision already for that.

Bro, don't ask me. I DON"T KNOW Ubah's investments anywhere. However, When Ifeanyi Uba was contesting for Anambra governor, the loudest jingle was that he had ONLY an old fashioned filling station in Nnewi. They even showed it and indeed it was an old village looking filling station. Nothing close to TONIMAS stations talkless of NNPC stations. For someone with Ubah type of wealth, you'd expect better in his home state.

If Ifeanyi Ubah has since built another modern filling station, I DO NOT KNOW. But having all those exquisite plots and houses in Banana island and victoria island that Coscharis was talking about without a lovely station in Nnewi of all places speak poorly of him.

If that will stop corruption , oil theft and revenue loss, I am in support of it.

But if this move is to enrich himself as Obasanjo did as petroleum minister, then it's a shame

I don't think that is why we still use MMA. I think the issue is abt embassies. U have to get a visa first b4 u travel so I guess that's why a lot of people still go to lagos first. If there is a chinese embassy in enugu a lot of pple will use enugu airport instead of lagos while going to china.

After we get the embassies, then the excuse shifts to lack of sea port or the runway isn't long enough to land Boeing 747 and the never ending excuses continue.

What has amazed me more was that some prominent pro-Biafra dudes that I know were adamant that they won't use Enugu intl. because " it didn't meet up with the standard of Lagos and Abuja airports". So if we get Biafra, will they still have to land in Abuja and run back to the East? Our people are either insincere about what we want or we have the worst type of cluelessness.

Even if you make Port Harcourt or Uyo airport the best in the world, I doubt any Yoruba or Hausa man will take transport to Port Harcourt or Uyo just to fly out using the "best" runway or terminal building in the world. Being wise is different from being smart. Igbos are typically smart While our contemporaries in Nigeria are wise.

Part of the reason Ngige lost was telling blatant white lies. In fact, my in laws said Ngige started a road in Ozubulu,then left without completing it. Several years later into Obi's 2nd term, Peter Obi re-awarded and did the road. Ngige came and told them that he did the road and the youths almost stoned him. If Ngige had not lied and insisted on ways thing that can be done better, he could have had a better day if people believed he had a better plan on how to develop Anambra. But some of those Ngige supporters regretfully believe in lies and falsehoods as a political tool.

When you ask them, the excuse is that they want to use Emirates. Those of them that will still board Ethiopian in Lagos will tell you they prefer the bigger plane in Lagos than the one at Enugu. Which they have never used to begin with.

So how will Emirates,Lufthansa and all those excuses they mention, come to Enugu if nobody is ready to use an international airport in Igboland? Our people are sometimes truly silly.
